I rebuilt my ford 302 by watching you tube got it all together and it started but did not run very good towed it to a shop they told me low compression might have flat spot on my brand new cam and they would not work on it because they don't open motors so I did alot of calling around nobody wants to work on a you tube built motor but I found first class auto that a machine shop recommended Ray got it running very honest telling me the fuel rail I got from the junkyard clogged the fuel injectors very happy with the work and the price I had them do more ac /heater / exhaust / suspension thank you Ray and your team you earned a new customer for life read more

I came here for routine transmission work on a Monday morning. I had originally been quoted $185, and was going to use the 10% off check in offer. I dropped it off at 9AM, and was told it would be ready by 12:30 or 1PM. To my surprise, it was ready by 11, and they only charged $99. I also needed new front brakes so I walked to Midas across the street to get a price quote. I took that price quote to Ray at FCAS and he told me he could beat the price by almost $30. Sold! Ray's operation is truly impressive. He has a team of 2 old timer that lovingly care for vintage vehicles to "keep them on the road" and 2 yourger mechanics that work on the newer stuff. Ray is super upfront on all the issues that need immediate attention and stuff that can wait. This shop loves old cars! 1 of ray's guys is a german specialist, another one works on american makes); as a result, my 73 mercedes was babied. The mechanic looked at the entire car (vs what I was asking him to check to save on $$) and fixed all he could regardless of whether it was in the initial quote or not! They also detailed the car to the point that I could not recognize it (they buffed the paint so much that the paint looked it was 2 years old). When I asked Ray how much I owed him, he said: "no charge my detail guy was slow and we felt your car could use it": Unbelievable! FCAS also has the best shuttle service in the state! but USSHHH, it's a secret! Ray sometimes gets behind the steering wheel of his gorgeous Shelby to drop off lucky customers. I (along with my neighbors) will remember this experience for a long time! Since FCAS also has one of the lowest hourly rate in the east valley (let alone Scottsdale!), it is an easy choice. They made me a repeat happy customer, and I hope they will for you too. read more

I always felt taken advantage of at dealerships, places like Jiffy Lube, and other really slick Scottsdale places...more often than not, these places take advantage of females, and that's just a hard reality of life. Ray and his staff at First Class are like a family...they would never take advantage of anyone, and they have always treated me fairly, always with respect and kindness. They are quick, professional, economical, and above and beyond anything else, they are honest. My family and I will never take our cars any place else. They checked my car for free, but you need to make an appointment. The told me what was wrong with it and the price was competitive and a little more affordable. I lived close by so they drove me back home as well and took off $10 from uber expense when I went back to pick up my car. They fixed exactly what I payed for. A couple days ago, I fired up my car and started driving towards downtown so that I could attend the Yelp Eats UYE at Nobuo. Only problem was it was 104 outside and my AC wasn't working. Luckily, I'm a savvy dude, and had a pretty good idea about what COULD be wrong. I called Lightning Lube, my go-to for all things car. They recommended I give Ray a call at First Class. I took it in, told him what was up, and he recharged my AC within 30 minutes, and I was out the door. He's honest, fast, reliable and the kind of guy you want working on your car. His prices are reasonable, and it seems as if his staff does all kinds of work. I will certainly come back. He will make conversation with you, explain what is going on, and then give you options. The other thing that is key here, is that he won't just start working on your car, until you tell him to. He'll help you out and figure out why your check engine light is on and give you random advice on your car if you ask for it. I was originally going to go to Whitey's since everyone in Old Town seems to go there, but Whitey's is closed on weekends. Hands down the most honest auto shop I have ever encountered. Let me start with the fact they saved me literally at least a couple thousand dollars. They did a (free) diagnostic on my vehicle and told me they think it could be a transmission problem and that if I go to a Nissan Dealership to get this fixed, it may be covered under the extended warranty. Sure enough, I go to a Nissan dealership and it is totally covered. New trannys cost at least 2 thousand dollars, and because of their honesty and moral, I didn't spend a dime. Not only that, but the manager (maybe owner?) Keith told me I could call him at any time if I have questions about what the Nissan auto shop relayed to me. It's conveniently located next to Discount Tire so I would get my tires rotated there and then have them send it the First Class for whatever else I need to get done. I was referred to him by a friend who drives 40 miles to get his entire family's vehicles serviced, tells me a lot. I went to Ray 2-3 times in the last year as I have a 12 year old vehicle. When you get an older vehicle serviced, it's real easy to get "taken to the cleaners", 99% of mechanics would do that all day long. Each time Ray serviced the car, I got a truthful, and honest assessment and service. I brought my car to another auto service place before I came to First class auto. The first place told me I need front and back struts totalling over 1200.00 after I got an oil change awhile back. Finally I scraped up the money to get the front struts fixed but felt like I needed a second opinion, I brought my car to First class auto because the discount tire people recommended them. They called me back after checking out my car and let me know that my struts didn't need to be changed and saved me 600.00 which is AWESOME because my sisters coming into town and I have a couple bdays to buy for and barely had the money to cover the struts. So relieved now and relaxed, I told my grandma what they said and she was surprised because they could've easily changed out my struts and charged me.
