A couple of weeks ago I had to slowly roll into the Discount Tire to get new tires and of course I needed to get an alignment as well. They suggested this place since it was right behind them and they were able to take care of my car very quickly. I was also very happy that they checked everything and did not try to sell me on a cap or a filter. I feel this was the first time I walked in for a service and simply only got that service and not pushed to do other work. Brought in my car for an alignment in March 17' and I noticed it did not come out so good besides the fact that they told me is was fine and it was just my car I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Well with in 4 months i needed to replace my front tires which I had just replaced the same day I got the alignment (discount tire store right next door AMAZING!). They had told me I only had 3 months of warranty so fast forward to today still messed up alignment on to another new set of tires. I'll make sure not to bring my car in here ever again. read more

I got my car detailed here and it looked AMAZING!!!! I dropped my car off around 9am and it was ready around 5pm (it would have taken less time, but they got EVERY SINGLE DOG HAIR OUT!!! :) I had an oil stain from peanut butter on my front passenger seat and it's gone! I spilled hot chocolate all over the gear shift and driver side seat and you couldn't even tell that anything had ever been spilled! It really looked like it was BRAND SPANKING NEW!!! Wow!! This truly is first class service! Was in the Old Town Scottsdale area with a friend. The low engine oil light came on in car after lunch. Not time for an oil change yet - but wanted to get it checked out. Stopped in and explained to Keith. He called Andrew over right away and saw that it was low. Added a quart right away and wouldn't accept any payment - not even a tip. My friend has brought her car here for years and told me to come see them after the Meineke at Hayden and Thomas was so rude and wouldn't even look under hood without doing a complete oil change (never go to Meineke). We were very pleased with the service here. I needed 30K service on my Nissan and the dealer I got it from wanted to charge me between $400-1,000, just for scheduled maintenance! Soooo let me first off start by saying I am SO SAD I discovered these guys my last year of living in Arizona, and if you ever need anything done with your car, YOU MUST COME HERE. Quick back story: I went to a very well known company (who I will leave unnamed) to get a $20 oil change bc I was a bit of a sucker and trying to get a good deal. They came out and told me I had about a million things wrong with my car and I'd be looking at spending a few grand. I was not amused with this and also doubted them since my car was running perfectly fine and there were no leaks etc etc, so I went to First Auto to get a look over and second opinion. Multiple people had recommended me to them and I'd be there once before so felt very comfortable going back again. These guys are extremely thorough and extremely HONEST. I have never dealt with such a fair company either. Turns out nothing needed to be fixed with my car and they saved me so much money by not trying to trick me into fixing unnecessary things. They even gave me a ride to and from my apartment. I worked with Ray the first time I came here and then Keith the second time and they are both awesome. I really don't have enough good things to say about these guys. And if you don't believe me, when you go into the office there, you'll see the place is completely covered with thank you letters from hundreds of people who also appreciate their honesty and efficiency. So to sum up this small novel, if you need anything done to your car, this is the place to go. They will be 100% honest, efficient, helpful and easy to deal with. Had a really uncomfortable and somewhat even degrading experience. Would not go back and this actually kinda intimidated me to really make sure to not go anywhere by myself to get work done on my car without a male present. Walked in first thing in the morning for my Saturday appointment. And since it was my first time, all i did was go over some of concerns i had about my car. I was talked down to in a way and really not taken very seriously. Was a very cold and unwelcoming experience for a first time customer. The man assisting proceeded to go over his lack of a magic wand that tells him whats wrong with my car and even made it seems like my even considering getting my vehicle repaired there was a huge inconvenience and too much trouble for him just by his tone. And even tried to intimidate me by how costly it would be to find my problem and to fix some of my minor concerns stating he has labor hours that start at $95/hour, which is definitely a bit higher for shops market area, but i didnt mind, i appreciated the disclaimer but using that as a way to make me go away was not customer friendly, tell me what you can do, not what you cant do. I went here due to all the good reviews, maybe they were having a bad day, but regardless I didnt like how i was treated. I may be a female, but i actually work in the auto industry, specifically estimatics and insurance so I deal with cars and estimates everyday. I wasnt asking for a magic wand, but just to help diagnose and fix a issue. I never set the expectation that they would know right away what was wrong with my car by some magic force and them jumping to that conclusion was very degrading and inappropriate, I was just listing off concerns like I was asked, nowhere did i make an attempt to ask a question. I did feel the fact i am a young female may have made me appeared clueless about cars and like i cant afford this place, but they could have at least pretended to care and be helpful. Anyways end of my experience is i decided to see if they could at least help locate the source of this squeak, couldnt find the squeak at the first test drive, a nicer younger worker offered to look into possible sources, but i declined and left. I was honestly too uncomfortable to go back inside the building and get talked down to anymore by the older man working at the front desk who was signing me in when i first walked in. Ray has the BEST, HONEST PLACE AROUND. Seriously this guy bends over backwards. I have never been ripped off and they even ran the check engine light test for me, for free on numerous vehicles for work and private. One of my cars failed emissions. I was so upset, the guy at the place said it was the rim around the gas tank. I brought it over to Ray, (he wasn't there so Derek helped out, who is his right hand guy & also great) he ran the test and said its just a new gas cap, thats it. He said if I have to order that it will cost you a few more bucks, just go up to the Auto Store. It cost me $10 and went back and passed. Thank god I didnt bring it to some place and they screwed me replacing the whole rim or gas tank. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I will never go elsewhere. I found Ray, because he was close to my work and I was bringing all my work cars there. After I found out how cool he is, we bring our family cars there now too. I have probably brought about 7 different cars there since 2009 and NEVER had a problem. He also works on higher end cars. The whole crew there is awesome! Thank you! These guys were amazing. Before they were going to charge me anything, Derek plugged into my car to see what was wrong. Then tried to repair a leaky valve without charge. When that didn't work, Derek ordered the parts and had it them delivered that same day and had my car fixed on time and below what they originally said it was going to cost. What an amazing find; my friend referred me to Ray at First Class Auto Service. I recently bought a higher milage SUV as a 3rd car to haul around stuff and do some 4x4. I just wanted it check over and get the fluids changed. Upon drop off he was nice laid back and just a down to earth guy - does things the old school way (which is good). I had quite a bit of maintenance work done including a couple other things and was expecting a nice size bill; that was not the case. VERY responible prices, I was in utter shock plus he did a full inspection. Read the reviews they maybe a couple negative experience but my recommendation is give First Class Auto a try and ask to speak to Ray. I came into first class auto for an oil leak. They mentioned I needed to replace a leaking solenoid to resolve the issue. After the solenoid replacement, my car was still leaking a large amount of oil in my driveway the next day. I took it back and the owner was extremely rude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him for returning my car. Come to find out, my oil filter was loose and just needed to be tightened. It's frustrating to know I spend a large amount of money on a part that didn't need to be replaced. Still looking for a friendly, honest, reliable mechanic shop where I don't feel like I will be taken for and have unnecessary parts slapped on. read more

Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a good and trustworthy mechanic. My daughter was 150 miles away from home and 500 miles away from us when her car broke down with absolutely no warning. She had minimal time to get the car diagnosed and repaired in order to make it back to work as scheduled. After reading reviews on Yelp, she called and spoke to Ray at First Class Auto. She took her car in, 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon, and Ray and his team quickly diagnosed and repaired her car for a reasonable price. My husband and I were both worried because our daughter was stranded and we know how difficult it is to find parts for her car. They still are the best. At Rays suggestion, I ended up trading in my old cadillac with the north star engine. It started having all sorts of troubles. Ray would fix one thing and a month later another issue needed to be attended to. He was always fair with his pricing and made sure the job was done. Even if he went over his quote he'd honor that price. So it was with mixed emotion I took his advice. Here was this cash cow for him if he wanted. He could of kept taking my money to keep that beast in the rode and I would have happily paid. I honestly felt sad about getting a new warrantied car because I'd have to start going to the dealership for my maintenance and wouldn't be working with Ray. As it turns out I still need Ray on occasion and couldn't be happier to have him in my corner. Twice now I've had some minor issues that weren't covered by my warranty due to wear and tear because I now drive like an asshole with my new ride. I could write a book about all the great work Ray and his crew have done for me. I moved to AZ as a 21 year old with no family or friends in the area. A coworker recommended FCAS. Not knowing much about cars and having a junker car that was on its last leg, any mechanic could have ripped me off. FCAS did the opposite of that. They have consistently provided incredible service and it's cheap. No taking advantage of customers, no up selling. At one point I went to another mechanic while traveling who claimed to have fixed an issue for $800. Ray and Derrick ended up having to fix it and Ray asked for the bill from the other mechanic so he could get my money back.!!! Ray is an honest man and all of his employees are wonderful people. Ray is the best and First Class Auto is the best. Sad we had to move to the west side and are quite far away now. Discovered First Class about 5 years ago and since we have two older cars they constantly have issues. More than once we have not liked our experience at another shop and ended up going across town back to First Class. And last month actually said no to a $480 quote from a place, took it to Ray who quoted $400. Once he saw that a part the other place said needed replaced actually was perfectly fine, First Class came in under budget at $320! They knew we did not like throwing money into our old 99 vehicle and truly care about customers service more than how much they can charge. First time I actually felt like giving an auto shop a tip. Very nice guys. I went to a shop that I had been going to for at least 10 years. They gave me an unbelievably high quote. I went in for an oil leak and left being told all these things needed to be done that didn't even have anything to do with the leak, not even on the same side of the engine as the leak. They told me my timing belt needed to be replaced and a few other things. My mom's coworker told us about them. Took my car in and they said the timing belt did not need to be replaced. Also, they told me where the leak that I originally wanted check out was, luckily not something bad but did need to be fixed. Keith was very straight forward. Their estimate was only a couple hundred dollars more (for 6 things that needed to be done) than one repair, out of 5 things, that the other place wanted to charge me. They didn't try to BS me like most places try to do because I am a female (that knows a lot about cars!). read more

Heard back from the owner Ray. Needless to say, he admired my passion. He says they do their own rebuilds. Not true, since he is the one who stated to me personally the jobs go out. I'd be glad to show you the receipt, Ray. The engine heads shouldn't be pitted from electrolysis nor should the gaskets blow nor should the rear main seal leak, if they were rebuilt properly. What you can do is refund my $3500. No I know you can't and won't. read more

They are honest, the prices are very reasonable and they stand behind their work. I have had many repairs there over the years. Whether the work I need is major or just routine, I always trust them to tell me what needs to be done and to do it right. I like that they will book an appointment time to get me in so I don't have to wait around all day. I may not be able to get in the day that I call, BUT if the issue is one that concerns my safety, they always squeeze me in. These guys are amazing. I've had First Class work on my cars for years, but recently entrusted a 1965 Mustang to them to 'get it running'. They did that, and were creative in looking for things that could go wrong. Ray and Keith consistently applied logic to what had to be done, and asked questions when they weren't sure what had to be done. Ray even polished up the badly oxidized paint, and while it doesn't look new, it looks pretty good. I'm glad that Ray opened a second location, not too far from the first. read more

My car was shipped here from Chicago for work. While on the trailer the truck driver drove my car under a tree and scratched the hood and the roof of the car. Every one here was very helpful in telling me about how valuable the original paint was on my car and suggested a nice buff and wax and that would get the scratches out as they appeared to be surface only. They additionally gave me some helpful advice about maintaining my car here in a new state. Not only did they do a great job with my car they were also able to get some of the other scratches there were already on my car on the door pretty much out.
