I had an error light come on for my charging system at 3pm on a Saturday. I was greeted on the phone by a very friendly cashier who told me to bring it right over. The service advisor was prompt and friendly and got my car in quickly. He noticed I was due for an oil change and said they could do that as well. We went in to the test drive the CRV, but not intending to purchase that day. I needed a new car, as my Honda Odyssey has well over 200,000 miles on it. We had been to several other car dealerships in the days before and had not found the right car or the right deal for us. Gabriel was fantastic! Helpful, but not unrealistic. Service Department. We are visiting from out of state. We recently bought a certified used Pilot and needed our fuel injectors replaced but parts didn't arrive at our home dealership before we left. So we drove to California from Texas and all of our service lights came on when we arrived. We took it to First Honda and they confirmed we needed our injectors replaced but also needed another part to repair it. They rush ordered that part and we took it in three days later and it was fixed same day! It is bittersweet that we received such great service at a dealership that we didn't purchase from. Well, my experience first started with Cody, who answered the phone, and was very cordial and quick to identify that the truck I had found on their inventory list online was really still in stock. We made an appointment for the next morning, and drove 2 hrs to the dealership- he was waiting and met us right out front and had the Ridgeline ready to test drive. The test drive went smoothly, with Cody explaining and demonstrating everything there was to know about the Ridgeline. We decided to purchase the vehicle and the long process of buying a car was made more pleasureable, because Cody was so friendly and easy to chat with. We then met with Marlon, his manager, who was also super friendly and helpful and easy to get along with. The financing took no time at all, and we ended up financing through Honda for convenience, even tho our Credit Union's rate was a few tenths lower... We zipped through finance, where everything was gone over in detail, and there was no trying to "slip extra charges through", that we had experienced at Toyota of Escondido last year!!! Before we left, Cody adjusted ALL the vehicle settings, including setting the navigational system to get me home! I will have to return, because I have a long list of dealer installed options, so Cody introduced us to the Service Manager, who is ordering the parts, and promised to finish all the installations in 1 day, since it is a 2 hr drive one way.. Upon returning home last night, I read over the paperwork ( as you always should) and caught the error of a matter of missing options owed on the Due Bill, and called Marlon today to discuss the issue. Was told it was Cody's and Marlon's day off, so left a message and was waiting anxiously for tomorrow to find out the story... Low and behold, Marlon called back almost immediately from home, ON HIS DAY OFF! Investigated the matter, and called right back to let us know all was well, the Due Bill was just missing the extra items on a second page that we didn't receive. NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! So, sorry for the verbose review, but I thought a thorough review of the experience was necessary, since other reviews were so short! Hope you go to FIRST HONDA and have the great experience that we did! Received outstanding service. Got the scary engine light and called First Honda. They were able to get me an appointment the same day. William, my service advisor, told me it was the fuel injector, he already got authorization through the warranty and the part! I waited at the dealer for the work to be done. It was not only a comfortable waiting area with a business center, it was super clean. I noticed someone disinfecting the area and restrooms several times while I was there. It's hard to trust this place. Each time my wife brings her vehicle to this location, she gets charged for items that were not understood from the beginning. For ex. This time she was told that due to the check engine light being on that it would be $140 diagnostic and that money would go towards the cost of fixing it. When she goes to pick up the vehicle she is told that she needed a new battery which is $139, and they had to run another diagnostics learn that the sensor was off due to the battery being so low. They did not need to replace the sensor, but charged $140 to "retrain" that sensor. I don't know about you, but that sounds like BS to me. Again, it's every time she takes her car there, this is the type of thing that happens. When questioning it, the employee says the company thing, "we use the highest quality parts" etc... but also speaks as an expert and therefore only those in the industry know all the acronyms they will throw around. It is not a good experience. It is impossible to trust what they say, and by the way, it took 5 hours to achieve this. When we called, we were told it was done, just the paperwork wasn't finished. Makes you wonder if it was done 3 hours earlier. We were/are in the market for a replacement vehicle. I can tell you where I won't be purchasing it. read more

If you need to get your Honda serviced, please, go literally anywhere else. For years, we have had nothing but issues with this Honda. A while back, I asked for my tires to be checked and replaced if they were worn. Two months after this servicing, I had a tire pop and shred coming home from NorCal. The person who checked the tire said the tires probably hadn't been changed in two years. I took my car in last December, paying for $1000 of work. Just today, I took my car in to another Honda service center. They said the car needed a number of new things that should have been covered in the December repair, things that couldn't possibly have worn out in four months time. It would amount to another $1000 of work. For this, and many other reasons, do not waste your time and money here. If you still want to stay within Honda, the Thousand Oaks Honda has always been great. read more

Our three children felt very comfortable as everyone made sure they were happy. From the play room to bringing them treats. So we spent some time selecting our model and I figured the tough part was ahead. Boy was I wrong. The deal was quick, fair and hassle free. First off, let me say that I absolutely HATE having to buy a new car. It is a hassle I takes all day. Plus all the run around that you usually get.... it is just plain annoying. First Honda made my experience good. It started out as an e-mail conversation between my husband and someone in the internet department. We found a Pilot that they had in stock that had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We made an appointment for the morning of Memorial Day. We arrived right at 9:15 and were greeted by Mike Lenhart. He was very nice and led us right to the vehicle we were interested in without trying to upsell or show us something else. He gave us a complete run down of all the features and a complete test drive including some freeway driving. Answered all our questions. We had our 2 our kids in tow, and we wanted to go home and think about it once Mike gave us all the numbers. There was of course a little pressure to buy right away, but in the end Mike respected our need to think it over and gave us his card. That afternoon, we decided to move forward. I called the dealership and told them who I was (they remembered, which was nice) and that I wanted to move forward on the deal. But, that I was going to have to come pick it up and do the paperwork with my kids, and could they please get started on everything so we wouldn't be there all night. When I arrived, the Pilot was parked right up front, clean and detailed and ready to go. Mike was busy with another client when I arrived, but he knew I was coming so had one of his associates, Ryan Lewis, ready to assist me and I didn't have to wait for even a second. The paperwork was ready, I got into finance rather quickly. All in all I was only there for about 45 minutes. Ryan even gave coloring books to my kids. And to top it all off, he drove the new Pilot back to my house for me since my husband was at work. Now that's service. All in all, Mike and Ryan were great to work with. Courteous, professional, and treated me and my family with respect. If you choose to go to First Honda, ask for one of them personally. read more

After trying to find a safe and reliable used first car from Craiglist and visiting some sketchy dealerships, we were discouraged. The moment we walked on the lot of 1st Honda, Simi Valley, it felt right. Everyone was friendly and professional, and they had some nice used cars....in our price range! A young man by the name Nik Kapur walked with us, he pointed out some possibilities that fit our budget. He was very knowledge about their inventory, and he was able answer all our questions, i.e., safety rating, blue book value, etc. right on the spot using his smartphone. Once inside, there was a question whether my credit union had a stipulation on the year and price of a used car. Again, Nik instantly found the answer. He took away all the uncertainty of buying this used car. We were very impressed! We feel good about our selection and my grandaughter is ecstatic with her first Honda!
