Horr-i-ble service! Have had the Honda serviced here and every time its an 8 hour long nightmare. How long does it take to do a routine inspection and oil change? Apparently all freaking day. Every time. And of course they forget to send a shuttle for pick up at the end of the day. Just no sense of customer service what so ever. Since I had purchased my car I took it for regular maintenance to this place (two years). I never double checked their work and I liked their front desk people's courtesy and their good prices. However the last two times I lost my trust in them. The time before last when my car came back it had a dint on it. Since I wasn't sure if it was there before I gave them the benefit of doubt.The last time I marked my tires and asked them to rotate them. After the service was done I noticed that only two of the tires were rotated. So, I am not really sure how the rest of the services had been done. They offer you a free wash but most of the time the car wash guy seems like just hardly touches your car. Unfortunately I have lost my trust in their service people and I will no longer take my car there. It's inconvenient but I have to find a new service place for my Honda before its too late. After a bunch of very frustrating visits to Honda of thousand oaks service department I called Honda corporate and they suggested I go here. I just assumed all these dealerships were equal but that is not the case. Honda of Thousand Oaks basically told me they were aware of my problem but there was no software update to fix it?! Honda of Simi Valley new of the problem and said there was a software update to fix it. Going back and forth with Honda of Thousand Oaks meant my warranty expired and I had to pay for it but at least I have a new service center going forward who knows what they are doing. read more

I had an amazing experience purchasing my first car through First Honda! I chose them over local Honda dealerships in my area because they gave me the best online quotes on the cars I was looking at buying (Accord and Civic). Their Internet Sales Representative, Jose Nava, was very helpful through e-mail and very responsive, which was another reason I chose them over the other Honda dealerships I requested online quotes from. I visited First Honda with my parents late in the afternoon on Wednesday, 9/28 (great time to visit) and were greeted and welcomed by one of their sales consultants, James Mcquillan, once we parked our car outside. Right away, James brought me down to the garage and showed me the cars I was interested in. He was very nice and answered all of the questions I had for him. Once I decided which car I wanted to try and purchase on my own, we began the process that same day. The process was seamless and it took almost 2 hours after test driving and looking at the cars (finished around 8 PM). Their manager, CJ, and the finance team were very friendly. My parents also agreed that the car buying process has positively changed over the years. Unfortunately, the Honda Fit was out of my price range, but Michael was great and very helpful, and he took the time to listen to what qualities are important to me in a car and found a great second choice. He was very patient with my husband and I as we took awhile to decide, and he did his best to get us the lowest monthly payment possible. Johann was also very helpful and took the time to explain how every function in the car worked. CJ worked with us to get the payment in our price range and had gave us wonderful customer service. My experience at First Honda was ridiculous. I met with a salesman after 20 minutes of being there. No one came up to me right away until my cousin finally went into the store and asked "does anyone work here?". Him and the salesman got along great since he has been in this type of industry. I ended up making a deal under the impression that I was financing a certified pre owned vehicle. They had it advertised online as a CPO vehicle, had it on the CPO lot, and the salesman told me it was. I ended up having to return the vehicle because they lied and then decided to tell me that "after certain mileage it cannot be certified" but as a consumer I am not obligated to know that. They made that mistake and were trying to brush it under the rug by offering a free binder and a full tank of gas. I was not having it and demanded they take it back. Their attitudes definitely changed since they could not have their way. I also had to request a copy of the unwinding paperwork because they did not give me one. As well as, not returning the previous paperwork I had signed where I made the deal. I mentioned I had left it in the car and if it could be brought to me and the financing worker told me I did not need it. Today I tried to ask for it and he told me "it's on you that you left it" and claims he has no idea where it is now. I would not recommend going to this dealership. I highly advise you to have your guard up if you do choose to go, they are shady! read more

The first time I came here looking for a car was back in 2013 and I had a great experience. Everyone was helpful and friendly and the sales person at that time helped me get a great deal on the car I was interested in buying. After the deal was finally done my boyfriend tells me that we should trade my 2 door car for a 4 door car. He has seen me struggle so hard putting our daughter in and so many times I was about to land on the floor facing down due to my foot always getting stuck on the seat belt so we request to see a 4 door car and Mr. Tarafdar was sooo helpful that he showed us a couple of cars and finally the last car he showed us which is the Honda Civic SE 2015 was the one I liked and was happy with. We went back to his office for more paper work but he made everything go fast as he was aware that we had our daughter with us and she was getting fussy and impatient. Mr. Tarafdar entertained my daughter while his manager, Charles, came to speak to us. His manager was also very helpful and friendly. He wasn't like other managers I've dealt in the past in other places that think they're on top of the world and don't want to help you, not even because it benefits them and the company they're working for. The next day we received a phone call from Maggie Kilgore asking us our experience with First Honda and with Mr. Tarafdar. As I told her my experience was great. If I had a horrible experience, I wouldn't of gone back but my first and this previous visits to First Honda has been excellent. In the future if we decide to trade or buy cars we will be coming here. No more looking at other dealers. Unfortunately, the repair technician was not able to complete the repair. For some reason, the new DVD unit for the GPS was not connecting to the car's system (or something like that). I was told that the dealer called Honda to get some guidance as to why the new unit was not working properly, but it being Saturday the service tech told me that they would not hear back from Honda until Monday. Very disappointed with this Service Department. They charged me for Services they did not perform. This is the second time. The first time I left a message with the service manager and never received a call back. I figured it was a one time mistake...I guess not. The Service Manager's email and phone number are not posted on their website and the receptionist will not give it out (only transfers to voicemail). I also tried to get his contact information through 1st Honda's online chat. They said they couldn't give it out. Why is a Service Manager unreachable? Do they set things up to fail for job security? Are they like the Jiffy Lube scandal? To add insult to injury now I have different warning lights on my dashboard. My Accord is only 3 years old. It has been a month since we brought our car multiple times which is hassle for us to fix the same issue. Radio system was turning on and shutting down by itself luckily it's covered by insurance. They finally changed the radio panel which they could have done it sooner! When we picked up the car found out that the second row seat handle was broken, so my husband brought it back last week to tell them it wasn't broken when we dropped it off. Don from service called and insurance is not paying for it. We told them they need to fix it because it was their fault but they refused. My husband came back yesterday to talk to the SERVICE MANAGER to let him know what's' happening and thinking he will help us but "NO". Attempting to buy/lease a car with an excitable 1 year old in tow, is not the easiest way to spend a Saturday. There was a kid's room for use and all of the staff was helpful and playful with our little guy scooting all over the show room. I did suggest that the playroom equipment have an overhaul, so in the meantime, parents might want to bring along some favorite toys. At least there is a space dedicated to the little ones, where they can play. James was our sales rep and his patience was never ending. He has no children himself, so you would think our kid's noises and constant need to be on the move would have worn on him. However, if it did, he made no show of it. I had an error light come on for my charging system at 3pm on a Saturday. I was greeted on the phone by a very friendly cashier who told me to bring it right over. The service advisor was prompt and friendly and got my car in quickly. He noticed I was due for an oil change and said they could do that as well.
