It's hard to trust this place. Each time my wife brings her vehicle to this location, she gets charged for items that were not understood from the beginning. For ex. This time she was told that due to the check engine light being on that it would be $140 diagnostic and that money would go towards the cost of fixing it. When she goes to pick up the vehicle she is told that she needed a new battery which is $139, and they had to run another diagnostics learn that the sensor was off due to the battery being so low. They did not need to replace the sensor, but charged $140 to "retrain" that sensor. I don't know about you, but that sounds like BS to me. Again, it's every time she takes her car there, this is the type of thing that happens. When questioning it, the employee says the company thing, "we use the highest quality parts" etc... but also speaks as an expert and therefore only those in the industry know all the acronyms they will throw around. It is not a good experience. It is impossible to trust what they say, and by the way, it took 5 hours to achieve this. When we called, we were told it was done, just the paperwork wasn't finished. Makes you wonder if it was done 3 hours earlier. We were/are in the market for a replacement vehicle. I can tell you where I won't be purchasing it. read more

If you need to get your Honda serviced, please, go literally anywhere else. For years, we have had nothing but issues with this Honda. A while back, I asked for my tires to be checked and replaced if they were worn. Two months after this servicing, I had a tire pop and shred coming home from NorCal. The person who checked the tire said the tires probably hadn't been changed in two years. I took my car in last December, paying for $1000 of work. Just today, I took my car in to another Honda service center. They said the car needed a number of new things that should have been covered in the December repair, things that couldn't possibly have worn out in four months time. It would amount to another $1000 of work. For this, and many other reasons, do not waste your time and money here. If you still want to stay within Honda, the Thousand Oaks Honda has always been great. read more

I was just in yesterday for my normal service and their customer service was great... from the time I dropped off my car, got a shuttle back (since I didn't have a ride back in time before close) and picked up my vehicle. Cody, my service representative, was great when he called to notify me my vehicle was ready and also when I picked up my vehicle. Friendly and speedy service at a reasonable price--couldn't ask for more! I'm a happy Honda CR-V owner from northern CA and was in Simi Valley on business when my car had engine trouble on the freeway. It was late in the afternoon and I was set to drive home the next day. When I called the service department at First Honda I was told that their technicians would only be in the shop for another 45 minutes that day but they could get me in if I came straight down. I headed straight to the dealership and was able to get my car fixed within an hour and a half by a wonderful team. My service advisor, Jaime, was top notch and provided excellent service. Would have been a five star if I was only rating my salesman Alfonso. He had a terrific attitude, was very knowledgable and a great guy to work with. Unfortunately, the finance manager Henry lacked customer service skills and ruined the wonderful experience. Would give him 0 stars. Marlon also was a great supervisor. I strongly recommend that they remove their $399 mandatory anti theft program. They install a sticker in your car door and in the event of the theft of your car, the insurance company that they work with will give you $2500. Whoop di do!!! Insurance robbery I would say. When I mentioned to the manager Jim ( i think that was his name) he looked at me like I was from Mars! Jim and Henry, thanks for nothing. We purchased an Odyssey despite not being excited about owning a mini van. Alfonso was able to show us some alternatives and highlight the features of the Odyssey. Alfonso was great to work with-not at all pushy or aggressive. He gave us a great test drive and was quite knowledgeable. If he happened to not know an answer, he immediately went to find it. The location of the dealership and ease of parking were also great. The rest of the team we worked with were also pleasant (even during that dreaded negotiation stage). I live in San Diego but was up in Simi Valley visiting relatives. I have a 2007 Honda Pilot. My key fob wasn't working and even replacing the battery didn't help. I had to have Triple A tow my car to 1st Honda because my key would not unlock my door and then when we got into the car the alarm went off and wouldn't stop until the battery was disconnected. When I got to 1st Honda they took my information and also noted that the Passenger Air Bag had a recall and they said they would take care of it while the car was there. My vehicle needed a new lock cylinder and they had to also rekey the lock and the cost was going to be approximately $750! When I questioned the cost they gave me a 10% discount on the labor but the cost was still $691. My complaint is that they told me it would be done after lunch the next day and when I called they said it would be done by 5. I told them I needed the car by 3:45 and they said they would "try" to get it done between 3 and 3:30. They did have it "finished" by 2. However when I went to pick up the car before I drove off I decided to check the key and it wasn't working!!!! You would think that they would check that before giving me my vehicle back! Then when I asked if they took care of the recall they said that they didn't do it but that I could take it to any Honda dealer to have it done. However that is an additional inconvenience to have to now take it to another dealer and wait to have it done when they said they would do it while the car was there. And to top it off they mentioned I had corrosion on my battery but didn't bother to clean it up. Definitely dissatisfied with the customer service there. read more

Just wanted to share my experience with 1st Honda of Simi Valley. Amazing experience. Everybody was so incredibly friendly and helpful. I purchased a Honda CRV and I absolutely love it. There are so many new and incredible features that I ended up coming back the next day so they could show me how everything worked. Two gentlemen, Johan and Thomas, who were not even my sales people were happy to help me and spent quite a bit of time with me showing me everything. I bought my Honda 2012 Pilot from First Honda. The experience was good. I even take my car there for service. And there was no issues the first 3 times. However this time I had an item stolen from my car. I reported it missing right away. Obviously they did nothing. They said they would investigate and call me back. But they never called me. When I return the car in 19 months I will not buy from them. And my next service, I will go elsewhere. If you go to First Honda... make sure you secure your items. Even things you think no one would care for. Items stolen: Beats™ By Dr Dre Beats Tour™ In Ear Headphones (center counsel) Swiss Army pocket knife Quarters (they only took the quarters) How do I know - The headphones stay in the car for my morning work outs. I had gone to the gym before taking the car for service and place them where I always do. Prior to going to First Honda I stopped for coffee and I got change back and placed the quarters in my vehicle change holder with several other quarters. Those too were gone. And my Swiss pocket knife which never leaves the car was also taken. My gut is telling me that when the car left the service bay and was taken to be washed, that this is when the items were taken. I was wondering why it took 20 minutes for them to wash and dry the car. Even my service rep came out to see what was taking "longer than normal" and placed a 2nd call for my car to be brought to me. read more

Dreadful!!!' The sales rep played the stereo when we were test driving a Honda Clarity so that we couldn't hear the "straining " noise the engine made when we tried to accelerate and get on the fwy. Hounded is for our business for weeks and then didn't even try to win it when we told them what another dealership was offering. They're not "in it to win it"!!
