Service manager tried to scam me. Our 2018 Honda Accord has a recall to replace the fuel pump module because it may have an improperly molded impeller. The manager told me to bring the car in and that I would have to pay $189 for him to "test" it. How would you test for something like that? The recall notice says bring the car in and the part will be replaced FREE. Nothing about testing. Plus, I just received my registration renewal and the DMV will not renew until the part is replaced and Honda issues a certificate of proof of correction. Went here because my AC wasn't working. I went after work on a Tuesday. I've never been here before and I did not make an appointment. I pulled in and there was about 8-9 cars in front of me in the service line. Even still, I was immediately helped and I was talking with someone inside the service department within maybe a minute or two. I told them the problem expecting to have to pay like $500-$800 for a fix. I was told that they'll check the vin to see if maybe there was a recall and there ended up being two recalls for the AC. He told me it'd probably be ready to pick up the following day at around 5pm, which was fine. I went home for a couple hours and I got a call and it was already ready the same day. I came in and they had it ready for me immediately and they even filled up my tires! I paid zero dollars! Shout out to my man John he's the guy that I talked to about everything. The service at this place is magic i'll never go to another place again for any car trouble. This place rocks, I don't think I spent more than 5 minutes total at the dealership for both picking up and dropping off combined. read more

Simi Valley First Honda. July 20, 2024. Update. SPECIFICALLY for accusatory Parts Manager Krayton and his henchman, the arrogant, smart-mouthed Mexican male. The same one who had demanded, when I had asked his name, 'YOU TELL ME YOUR NAME FIRST. THAT IS MY PRIVACY"!!!! On advice of Honda HQ, Provided Krayton with the defective touch-up paint module purchased 12-days ago with receipt to hand. I unscrewed the gray cap at the bottom of the container to prove missing finish wand. Krayton claimed the part was within the module. I told him it was missing. He then brought out a replacement. When unscrewing the same gray cap, he observed the finish wand, missing from my container. KRAYTON, A PARTS MANAGER? Krayton then shot back "YOU MUST HAVE BROKEN THE PART". Moments later, Krayton's sidekick Mexican arrived who had not heard the accusation but became confrontational. Mike arrived but remained quiet. No customer, purchasing products, should be demeaned by accusatory and confrontational smart-mouthed employees. Much less, a big deal over a defective product costing a mere $21.21 inc. tax. I told them to keep the replacement and left the facility with my defective module. When contacting Drew, my favorite Parts manager at another dealership, he will provide a courtesy exchange under the warranty. Drew advised he always take apart touch-up paint modules to ensure all parts present. Scraper, ballpoint, paint brush, finish wand. Nuff said about SVFH. read more

My 17 Year old son took his first car to get his old changed. Upon the free inspection the technician mentioned the the break pads needed to be changed and that there was break fluid leaking from many sources, a 1200 dollar repair. I asked for the dealer to send pictures but they declined and mentioned several times that this was found by a trained technician. Trianed in what I wondered. We took the car to get a second opinion and was informed that the brake pad were new and there was no evidence of any brake fluid leaks. First Honda was looking to take advantage of a younger person that they assumed was unsuspecting and was given assurances that the brake situation was determine to be the case....again by a trained technician. First Honda of Simi failed to comment when they were called on their scam. Up sales are normal, this is behavior was unethical. Never again will we or my family be a patron of First Honda of Simi Valley. read more

They always ask before working on something such as a air filter change or if the tires need to be rotated. I appreciate the honesty and keeping it simple. Greg the manager is great I think it really starts with him. At first they left one air cap off on my tire he offered to mail a cap to Santa Barbara. Mistakes happen and offering something to fix it is what I truly appreciated. 1) oil change price is great 2) service is simple and honest 3) they offer to wash the outside of your car Ofcourse it's your regular dealership service department but simple things are at good prices. I really recommend it for your monthly/ yearly routine fixes for this place if you have Honda and maybe other vehicles. I went to this dealership multiple times as I tried to find the vehicle that made the most sense for me and Reka was always patient, more than willing to help, and never pressured me to run credit or start the buying process till I was ready. She would follow up with me only at my request and always made me feel like a valued customer. Don't go to Honda of Thousand Oaks, their prices and customer service are atrocious compared to what you can get at First Honda. Reason for 1 star deduction: my new car had a couple little scratches on it that weren't able to be buffed out. However, the dealership agreed to get them fixed at the body shop at no cost to me. It took them a little longer than expected so it was kind of a let down to not be able to drive my new car after buying it. However, Reka made sure they put me in a nice rental at no cost to me until my new car was ready to be picked up. Also, while we were negotiating, the sales manager attempted to back track once a deal had already been shaken upon. However, Reka fought for me on the original deal with him and I made it clear I'd walk if the original deal wasn't honored so they stuck with the original deal. Where to begin? I called in 3 times regarding an "Ad Car". Confirmed availability, price, etc. showed up to get my mom a car. So far so good...got our bottle of water, test drove, and then we sat down to start what should have been a simple process. Ryan Lewis appears to review the numbers. Shockingly, the numbers are $30 more a month a than what was previously discussed. Apparently there are accessories on EACH and EVERY vehicle sold at this dealership. You know, the stuff NOBODY cares about, paint protection, and very thin plastic moldings for the door edges? Sounds completely legit right? It's certainly $1000 of worthless stuff. Sound like a Seinfeld episode yet? Obviously, I'm frustrated, and said that's not what was discussed on the phone. Ryan Lewis response, "well if you read the ad". I said give me one without the "accessories". Sorry, we don't have one, they all have these base accessories. So, basically, your ad was advertising a vehicle and price that doesn't exist? Ryan Lewis again "well if you read the ad". Shouldn't the ad and price reflect the actual cars on the lot? Your ad is just there to get people in the door and the price changes as soon as you get here? Ryan Lewis again "well if you read the ad". 3 TiMES I was told to "read the ad". At this point I lost my S@#%. Get me someone else in here to talk to, this conversation is going nowhere. In comes Chris Lee, with my pricing paper all crumpled up and sits down in a huff. Basically, he sticks up for his guy and says the deal they now presented to me is the best they can do. As I'm talking to him about the pricing and trying to reason with him about the situation. He had the ACTUAL nerve to look at my wrist and notice my Rolex and say (no lie) "is that a real Rolex on your wrist? Birthday present, gift?". Why in the hell does it matter what I'm wearing and where it came from. I'm negotiating a deal for my mom. I came in to this dealership assuming there was integrity behind the phone and people I was dealing with. Apparently, this dealership looks at what you're wearing, and decides that's how they are going to price and treat you. I know it's a huge shock that a car dealership deceived its customer and treated us poorly. Does it get any shadier than this? I don't think I've experienced two more unprofessional people than Ryan and Chris, and the best part is they work together. Do they not know "good cop", "bad cop"? We got "bad cop" and "worse cop". BUYER beware. You WILL be told one thing on the phone and something else in person, you WILL be judged on your appearance, you WILL get deceived, and last but not least, you WILL be treated VERY unprofessionally. I've been leasing Honda's for almost ten years now, and always used to go to the Thousand Oaks location. They've screwed me quite a few times, especially while getting my most recent lease. So- I decided to go to Simi for my A1 Service today. I came in asking if I was in the right spot since I hadn't been here before and don't want to go back to TO. They immediately treated me amazingly, let me know some things that TO had CLEARLY been doing wrong and mistreating customers on (such as a first free service depending on where mileage is at.... I've always paid in TO. always.). As I sat down in the waiting room another Service guy came to verify my address and was just incredibly sweet. About 15 minutes after that, the Service Manager came over to introduce himself to me. I'm seriously blown away by this amazing customer service, especially knowing that this is an extremely difficult job and they deal with a lot of angry customers. Went in today to look at leasing a Clarity. Jose was very helpful, informative and knew the product very well. Unfortunately after I waited for a long time on a quote, I approached Jose who was at the managers' desk, where an extremely rude man behind the desk asked me in an incredibly rude tone what I was doing there and why I was "staring at him." He then ripped a piece of paper with an extreme motion, and proceeded to give me an attitude while I was only wanting an update on a quote that I've been waiting an excessively long time for. My best friend is an internet fleet manager at another dealership, and I've leased many cars in the past. I've never had such a bad experience in all my years. Whoever that "manager" was behind the desk just cost the dealership a client. I was ready to get a car and sign today, but they can thank him for that. He was straightforward and kind and really helped steer me towards a vehicle that was a good fit. I never once felt pressured by him. I found that funny cause when I was drying my car that radar was as solid as a rock- They ask me to just call my ins. and process a claim like it's nothing- These techs & service advisors work together to maximize there invoice cost wise, in order to have a high percentage of $ brought in per vehicle to hit there monthly bonuses- Meaning, low invoice, low $ to dealer, no bonus or you get written up by management- I've been in the auto industry for 27yrs and I hate to admit that- But here at 1st Honda, it's way out of control- They see you have a lil money, and they think they hit the lottery on you, even for a damn recall- AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP, OR MONEY PIT AT ALL COST!!!
