Bought a car here a couple years back now. A year after the car was bought (which I ended up putting my previous car as a down payment) was more solid that what they sold me. Danesh was a solid salesman, but the lady he trained has no clue what she's doing. She promised all these features, removal of a black mark on the trunk by maintenance, carplay etc. The car came with no features. Today, I realized there are now two seat buckles missing from the backseat with the middle being the only seat with an actual buckle. I'll be in talks with the location manager as well as my lawyer in regards to safety regulations and false information that could lead to hazard in regards to the sale. Spent about ten minutes walking around looking for an HRV, inside and outside the showroom. No one acknowledged me. Got in my car and left. Went in, worked with Alfonso who kept things real, spoke to another manager (forgot his name but he's the really buff fit guy pause) who was more excited for my purchase than I was, and walked out with an amazing deal and amazing 2016 civic. Sales Manager JOE VECA is by far the worse Customer experience I have EVER encountered with a Manager!! He was not only lacking in the basic 101's of Customer Service to always Treat each & every customer w/Dignity & Respect, but also in Professionalism be-fitting upper Management! During my appointment to look at purchasing a 2017 Honda CRV EXL on 10/10/2019 he was condescending, dis-respectful and un-professional in his tone and demeanor! This was my second time coming to inquire about this vehicle the first time I went to KIA and didn't feel comfortable buying a used car from anywhere other than the Brand dealership. The initial salesman that I spoke with on the phone Adrian and Sales Manager who's name I can't recall, were extremely polite & professional. When I spoke to Adrian I decided that I would give him a little of my history over the phone to eliminate the usual BANTER of the CLOSER intimidation to BUY that happens at a lot of Car Dealerships, which is so yester-year!!! He also constantly questioned my OFFER Price and how I derived at such an amount, WHAT, I don't have to explain anything to you, I'm the Customer!! Does Honda endorse this type of behavior all in the name of meeting the bottom line, I sure HOPE not?? I will make HONDA CORP. aware in a detailed letter of my experience, to the President of Customer Relations. Joe Veca, didn't even feel I deserved the RESPECT as a longtime Honda Customer of having owned 3, to at least COUNTER my offer with a BEST Price. The reason he continuously stated was because of the difference in my OFFER and the list price, saying no one typically OFFERS almost 35% actually more like 25% off list price, I find that very HARD to believe!!! I was in disbelief that this was actually happening as I had every intention of BUYING this CAR, at a FAIR price, and like all things in business it's a process between what I think I want to pay and the BEST price!! Service department: After bringing my 2011 Honda in for what turned out to be a $130 inspection to find out why it was rattling, I was told I needed about $2K worth of outrageously overpriced repairs for things like a $110 brake flush and $200 spark plug replacements. The funniest one...replacing my third brake light was priced at $50 because it's "a pain in the butt to get to", according to the rep. I went home and did it myself. It cost me $7 for the bulb and took 30 seconds to open the trunk of the car and reach under the light to screw it in. Doing the math, Honda wanted to charge $5,160/hour for labor on my lightbulb. Guess it's easy for this service center to assume a young woman coming in alone doesn't know when she's being screwed over. Will not be returning, and I suggest you save your money and consult a trusted mechanic as well. read more

He asked me to go to their basement to check cars they have in stock instead checking though computer. I told him that I know the car I know and I did already drive test in another dealership and know the car very well. I asked him to check in computer which cars they have in stock (model i wanted to check) and to give me deals estimates. Based on this information I'll decide what car I'd like to go with. I did research and I actually went to a few dealerships before hand to compare pricing and notes that I had saved on my phone. when it came time to talking business I was greeted by a young gentleman who I can't remember his name ? he asked what was my budget and what was I looking for I explain to him just that. and he seemed as if it was out of this realm of ordinary so I asked to speak with whoever the Sales Manger was on duty. He came back and said that the mngr was busy and cant come speak to myself and my wife. So I walked over to his desk and politely asked if he would give me 5 mins of his time. He did not even look up and quoted " your budget does not match what you are looking to get" I replied to him well print out what does. His response ( still not even eye contact with me) I am way to busy sorry. I could not believe my ears! My wife's jaw dropped. I demanded to speak to someone above him and he replied with " good luck" NEVER IN MY LIFE have I been shown such blatant disrespect from a customer service rep! $675 for 2 Hondas with top tear credit does not sound unrealistic, but all I wanted was to see what he would come up with! By the way his name is Chris Lee Honda sales manager. I walked out and felt such lack of customer service that I was ashamed to even drive a honda home. I made sure I called in to speak with Joe Vece couple days later who is the GSM. Joe was nice but seemed to just brush it off. It's sad when my mother. Beware of Ryan Lewis, their internet sales assistant manager. I was there on June 30, 2019 and was greeted by Gabriel Navarette. He showed me the SI that I was inquiring about and was very patient in answering any of my questions. After i test drove the car, Ryan Lewis sat at our desk to help with the financing part of our inquiry. This is when my visit to the dealership went south. He was very condescending and disingenuous. When I asked him if Honda will soon have 1.9 APR financing for the SI he said that Honda does not give 1.9% APR and that 3.9% APR was the best deal for me. When I told him I got 1.9% for my Pilot he answered that 1.9 will not make much difference to the 3.9% he was giving me. $25 / month may not seem like a lot but in 5 years that totals $1,500! Next, he offered me a lease deal for $314 / month with $770 down. I told him the deal I got for my Infinity QX60, which was MSRP $52,000, was $470 / month. His response was because the residual value of the civic is high, and that is why it cannot be compared to my Infiniti. This did not make sense to me. I thought the higher the residual value the lower the lease payment will be because the car retains its value. I would give this dealership 1 star if it wasn't for Gabriel. I wish I could give him my business since he seemed genuine and trustworthy. read more

Wow. So, this would have been my third car through first auto. What a let down. Went in on July 3rd to check out some new civics because my lease was about to end. Found one I liked, and we started the process. My credit isn't that great, but they kept assuring me because I had a good payment history with Honda and I've gotten cars through them before, that I'd probably be fine. 4 hours I sat there while they "talked to Honda". 4 hours, just to be told that they'd "let me know tomorrow". So, I called the following morning and was again told that the service manager was "working on it". Called again an hour later and they said said they'd call me right back. Another hour goes by and I call, only to be told that I was denied earlier that morning. So, I asked what I'm supposed to do with my current car -- and you guessed it -- they said they'd call me right back. So, I called an hour later and they give me a 1-800 number and tell me to ask them. Absolutely unreal. I understand there's only so much a dealership can do with financing. But the fact that I spent 4 hours sitting around in an office, and then had to call them over and over when I was told by a sales manager and a salesman that they were working on my issue, is completely ridiculous. read more

So when the lease came to an end, I decided to come back and finance this vehicle to keep. I walked in on a Monday evening around 6:30 and was greeted by the Assistant Manager, Juan. When I explained the situation - he told me there's no way that could be done and I'm out of luck. My only option for keeping the car was to carry my dad over with me, and finance the vehicle with his name on it. I asked if he was sure and he said what I wanted wasn't possible and maybe I should come back another time when I had my Dad with me. I left feeling really rushed out and it was more than apparent he didn't have any interest in helping me after I had just drove twenty minutes to continue doing business with Honda of Simi. Yesterday I decided to stop in to Ocean Honda of Ventura where I proceeded to finance the vehicle myself and sign my Dad off of it with no issues, hiccups or questions asked. Their team was so helpful and the entire process took two hours. Not to mention - I went in to the dealership without having my father with me. This dealership, who I had never done business with, and who did not lease the vehicle to me, was willing to help me and get me taken care of. First Honda, this type of service speaks volumes not only as a direct representation of your dealership, but a reflection of your team of employees as well. You pride yourselves on helping the customer from start to finish, but when I chose to stay loyal with you, and continue my business, you turned me away at 6:30 on a Monday. I left feeling misled and out of options.
