We've eaten at several First Watch locations and love the food, atmosphere and service which is why we always return. EXCEPT for today. The food was still good, our waitress was very nice and efficient, but the hostess/greeter was terrible. Not a good way to start a visit. I clearly stood in line by the cash register waiting to ask for a table. They were busy but not crazy busy yet. I patiently waited for her to handle the customer in front of me who was paying. Then I was next. Or I should have been. Instead, she took someone who just walked in and seated them. Then she came back and got the guy BEHIND me and asked how many in the party and found a table and seated them. She came back and continued to ignore me even though I'm standing right in front of her. I told her I needed a table for 3. She told me it would be a 25 minute wait! I gave her my name and phone number and sat down. When my phone got the text that our table was ready, we got up to walk to the hostess but before we could even start walking, I got another text saying our table had been canceled. We still went to the hostess and she grumbled and grabbed silverware and menus. We followed her to our table and she threw the silverware and menus down and walked off. Seriously?? I don't think she needs to be in customer service. Maybe a job where she doesn't have to interact with the public would be a better fit. It really soured the experience. Luckily our waitress was nice, the food was good, and our order arrived quickly. The place got busier and busier while we ate. Do not eat at this location. I am hoping I just had another bad experience at this particular location. Our food order was wrong and the food that did come out was cold. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes for half of a club sandwich. My frustration with this location is the management. I told the server I was willing the pay the bill and wanted to give her a tip as I understood cold food and slow items coming from the kitchen wasn't her fault. When I talked to the manager (calmly) he laughed and said so you want free food? I've worked in restaurants before and wanted to make him aware that this isn't the first time we have been extremely disappointed in this location. He continued to say there is nothing he could do and said sorry I have to take a phone call while talking to us. I hope someone sees this review because the chain of FirstWatch restaurants have been pretty good in my opinion but management handled this very poorly. This is one of my favorite breakfast eateries!! Great vibes and better food!! Had the pumpkins pancakes (seasonal) and lemon ricotta pancake (my personal fav) and of course the million dollar bacon. They were all so good!!! You look at the menu and you know no matter what you choose it's going to be good. Wow I really like this place and have eaten here many times . On the date 4/22/2019 however one of their servers was either A. the worst ever or B. having an unbelievable off day. Place wasn't that busy, she walked right by me several times even when I politely said excuse me, never raised my voice or was rude as that is not me. 25 minutes no coffee no be right with you , nothing. The hostess came by twice and said she will be right with you, I know she felt bad. The customer at the next table offered me his carafe of coffee,?? Please either get her dialed in or out the door, you have great food and normally great service staff, it is one of my favorite places if I am anywhere close to there. Actually I live a little closer to the one on Old Hickory but much prefer the service I have normally gotten at this location! If I hadn't been here before and know that is not the way you operate I would not be back. I know every place has its problems occasionally , hope you get this remedied. Again the food here folks is usually the best around, fresh preserves, the best multigrain bread, delicious flavor bacon, I mean it is the real deal for a really good breakfast. Placed a $90 to go order.....was missing a hash. Waited for an hour!!!! Ended up running the rest of the food back to my office so everyone else could eat (found out salad had no dressing as well). Manager never came to apologize......once i got the bag with my food.....it was a quinoa bowl not the hash i ordered and told them i was missing (wasn't even a bowl on our order). We went for breakfast at the Brentwood location -- and lived to regret it. Our food was mediocre. My wife's Belgian waffle was ok, but my Tri-Athlete was a disappointment (some awful spread was on the toast, rendering it inedible). The coffee was so-so (bottomless for $2.99). The piece de resistance was provided by a server who dropped a water carafe on the floor and smashed it to pieces. Although pieces of the carafe actually struck my wife on the leg, nobody came to check on us. It is clear the staff is demoralized and indifferent. We should have gone to Puffy Muffin. read more

A definite casual neighborhood cafe to get healthy food. From Texas, it has a Le Peep brunch vibe place. Simple type set up dining furniture that has definitely been phased out by all the new style places but they make consistent food and modern type menu for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Their multi-grain pancakes are tasty and they don't crumble after cutting or dousing in syrup. Also, their omelettes and the fritatta were seasoned well and tasty. It seems to be crowded on the weekends but the turnover on the tables seems to be pretty quick The wait wasn't unreasonable by any means so you won't have to wait too long. I'd come back if we're in the area. Only thing that is of putting is it being between a Kroger and Emergency Care but besides that, have a warm meal or some granola. ;-) read more

I loved this place! Fresh, healthy, modern food--yummy. I would have had breakfast here every day of my recent business trip had I known about it. I'm going to rave about this place because it was so unique and good. If this was in my neighborhood, near Seattle, I would go there for sure. I had the avocado toast with basted eggs. I wasn't asked how I liked my eggs, and I didn't realize it came with them so they were overcooked for my taste but still good. The avocado toast is a winner! Chunks of avocado, salt and virgin olive oil on a thick whole grain toast was delicious and filling. The menu says there is Maldon Sea Salt in this, and perhaps there was, but the effect of this special flaked imported English salt is lost if you just mix it in. I hope the chef takes this comment to heart and sprinkles the flakes on top of the avocado in future. Then it will be the bomb plus plus! The pancakes on the menu came in five varieties, so I had to try one. Blueberry. Good stuff. Yes, I ordered two breakfasts. I ate half of each and was very happy. Yes, I was stuffed. Just when I was feeling a little food coma coming on, the Day Glow fresh juice I ordered arrived and all my sleepiness disappeared. I am not a juice nut, so the fact that I am craving that Day Glow drink days later says a lot. Fresh carrot, orange, and lemon juice with a sip of ginger and I felt like I could go all day. If you're seeking breakfast in northern Williamson County, your best bet is probably First Watch. It's miles beyond the unexceptional gruel cranked out by the assembly-line kitchens at the local Cracker Barrel and McDonald's factories. Not only is First Watch better than other purported breakfast joints but they feature a healthy twist with nearly every meal. There are soon to be 7 locations in Middle Tennessee, 4 in the Brentwood "vicinity" alone! After First Watch's acquisition of The Egg & I in the summer of 2015, their two Cool Springs stores lie within 8000 feet of each other! One stands in the shadow of the Drury Plaza Hotel and the other was formerly and briefly known as The Egg & I that replaced Noshville after its mournful closure in 2013. To top that, the two locations in Brentwood proper stand within 6000 feet of each other, one in the new Seven Springs shopping area on OHB (replacing the very brief existence of that Egg & I), the other in the same strip mall as Brentwood's defunct Harris Teeter in a space once occupied by Hollywood Video (yes youngsters, we used to go to a store to rent movies). This particular Yelp page features the former Hollywood Video location. The pancakes are HUGE, literally the size of Frisbees. My Ham and Cheese Omelet was accommodated by fresh greens and whole grain bread, just the healthy meal I need to offset all the fried chicken and french fries I consume! Omelets can be very heavy, like a bacon cheeseburger laden with fattening ingredients. But these omelets are so easy on the stomach, light and fluffy, flavorful fresh ham, high-quality Gruyere cheese. Absolutely scrumptious!!! I eat excessive amounts of food everywhere I go, so this restaurant satisfies my insatiable appetite. But with large quantities of food, a large quantity of water is needed to wash it down. I absolutely detest restaurants that dole out tiny glasses of water (Jimmy Kelly's), or a wait staff that "forgets" to keep the water glass full, which is their first priority. Being thirsty can completely ruin even the best meal! I am so adamant about having enough liquid to accommodate my food that I refuse to tip a waiter who leaves my glass empty for more than 15 minutes. And I'm a 30% tipper! At First Watch, you get a colossal, ice cold mason jar of water with your meal, so the waiter doesn't even have to keep their eye on you. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!!! First of all, the owner and the host are busting their butts to bus tables and move people through the dining room, which is much appreciated given how bad other restaurants in this area are at this (avoid Egg & I unless you have ALL DAY). They have complimentary coffee while you wait. And they made short work of getting a lot of waiting customers to tables. Much appreciated. The pancakes were not as big as advertised and were mediocre for pancakes. Coffee was delicious and they give you your own insulated pitcher so you aren't waiting on a waitress for refills, same with water. Their egg based meals looked delicious and the bacon was phenomenal! I should have gotten a Benedict dish or something with the bacon/sausage. They also have awesome creamers available for the coffee. Staff were great and the atmosphere was very friendly. A little noisy but that's to be expected. We went for breakfast at 10 am and didn't have to wait long for a table. Best breakfast option I've found in Brentwood so far. If family is in town, go here. Avoid if you're VEGAN! I took my kids to brunch yesterday and they ordered regular breakfast items which looked good and well prepared. I had the "2 for you" with the seasonal veggie sandwich and the kale salad. I made it clear that I am vegan and to omit any animals or by-product of animals on my plate. Simple enough, right? Nope!!!! My order comes out with pieces of chicken all over my kale salad (I think it's cooked with the carrots as a stew and poured over the greens) I told the server to change it, she apologized profusely, said she didn't have her glasses on or whatever. She took the plate back and had them re-do it. The owner came back out with my plate 20 minutes later telling me he personally redid it and glazed the carrot in a simple vinaigrette to give it some nice flavors. Great. I'm starving and ready to eat it. I start poking around and see that the chicken pieces were just attempted to be poorly removed as they were still several little shreds stuck to the carrots and under the salad. Like WTH. I'm completely okay with an order error but don't come and tell me it was personally taken care of and take me for an idiot and try to make me feel special. That's just not right. I left hungry and and upset. If you can't accommodate special dietary request, just say it. I'm a big girl and I can take it. (I can just picture them in the kitchen telling each other to pick the pieces out, she won't notice it. And let the plate sit there for a while so she thinks we actually did something!!!) If it had been an actual food allergy, this could've been real bad!!! 2 stars because 1. They actually had oat milk for the coffee and 2. My son's chocolate chip pancakes looked bomb. Overall. My husband and I have enjoyed the food at a number of First Watch locations. This one just off Franklin Rd in Brentwood is excellent. The seasonal special carnitas burrito was delicious along with million dollar bacon! BROOKE was our server today, and she did an excellent job. The manager TAMMY came by to see how our experience was today. This has become our favorite First Watch in the Brentwood area. We highly recommend this location with Brooke as your server. She really needed to find a new line of work to get so angry at the customer that way over asking about their coffee. My daughters bacon was so burnt. My dressing tasted ruined on my greens. The food was not what we were used to for a First Watch. This place gives first watch a bad reputation. Then when we got our ticket finally she was carrying peoples food in her hands and asked us to grab the ticket from under the peoples plates of food out of her hand. I will never go back to that location. I knew when this waitress was so rude and the person seating us was so rude we should have left. It's a run down restaurant and needs happier , more professional and nicer people working there. I might add the guy waiter was very nice enough to come by and ask us if we had been waited on because he saw us sitting there forever with no drinks. Let's start out by saying this is the first time I had been to First Watch. I had not been so I chose this over Snooze for my birthday weekend. However, I would not recommend this location. Maybe they were having a busy day? But nothing about it made me ever want to come back. I put in my name at 10:54, checked in inside at 11:10. Online wait time was 30-45 minutes. We were never called or text. At 11:45 (almost an hour later)...I asked the hostess up front if we were soon. She said 5 or 6 people away. Wow. Then, I decided to stand there and hover, while she rattled off multiple names quickly and ultimately came right to my name. Suspicious. So we were finally seated. We ordered our food pretty quickly and got most of the seasonal items as I was excited about all of them. We told our waitress to bring the donut holes first. They basically came with the meal when it finally came. I honestly lost track of how long we waited, but it was long. My kids were tired and hungry. The green chile hash was room temperature and was mostly potatoes. Not kidding. I could easily say there were 3 small pieces of pork in it. The regular French toast was dry. The barbacoa burrito was full of potatoes as well, warmer because it was at least wrapped up. The best thing were the donut holes that we tried to shove in while they were still warm. It was a pretty big disappointment. I'm thankful I had my birthday coupon I signed up for or it I would have been pretty upset paying $45 for that meal. Not that $32 was better. If I have to wait forever for food, it should at least be hot and good. We left two hours from when I put our name in, so I guess we waited about 30/40 minutes for our food (potatoes). read more

This place is a hidden gem! I say hidden because the outside and logo make it look like a walk in clinic at first glance. I'm currently eating a kale superfood salad and half a ham & gruyere sandwich and I'm in love. The salad is the best thing I've had in a long time and it's healthy.
