My dad and I met here Wednesday morning around 7:30am before the hurricane the place was empty besides a cop eating breakfast within the hour more people started coming in. I've been to other first watches (Jax Bch and Fort Lauderdale) and their food is good and healthy. I always get the triathlete which is an egg white veggie omelette with fruit and toast, I have been getting the grits too. Everything tastes good, I've also gotten take out a couple times and the line to pay for it is always so long, I wish they had a seperate line to pay for to go orders, also parking can be tricky and hard to find. read more

Ahh, I love this chain but it's always a hit or miss for me. As a restaurant, it's always clean, staff is friendly, and their HUGE booths are wonderful to sit in. And if you want a surefire hit, their Chickichanga (burrito with eggs, chicken,salsa, the works!) will never let you down. It is always top-notch and cooked perfectly. Their consistency is another story. Sometimes I'll have great service, other times my server takes their time getting to our table (no matter how busy it is). The Monterey club I got this last visit? The bread was horribly dry and crumbly, as if it had been left out for days. Last time? Bread was moist and sandwich was wonderful. Same has happened with the waffles, which either come out Brown and nice, or undercooked and slimy. I just never know what I'm going to get, so unless I'm ordering the Chickichanga and looking at a leisurely breakfast, I rarely come here anymore. Hopefully this isnt reflective of the whole chain, because their menu is wonderfully seasonal and I adore the concept. read more

Started by checking in for the waitlist on Yelp! Yay, I absolutely love this feature! Arrived and checked in with host at specified time, but then had to wait an additional 20 minutes for a table, boo. The inside of the restaurant was absolutely frigid! I requested to sit outside where it was a lovely 70°. Our server started off great. He took like orders and brought our drinks and toast before my meal but then he disappeared! Our food was brought out by two other staff members and only 3/4 of us received food. One meal was forgotten, the staff member said she would go see about it. She disappeared and never came back! We got the attention of the server from the table next to us about the missing plate, we were not trying to be rude and start eating before our 4th party received her food. That server came back in about 5 minutes with the plate. Great we can all eat now! The original server showed up again halfway through our meal and brought checks and filled drinks. That was the last we saw of him or any other server before we went inside to pay. From now on, I will go back to the Riverside location. I've always had good service and felt welcome at that location, not so much at this one. read more

My first time here. The menu items look awesome but when you do care about calorie intake most everything put me off. I ended up ordering 2 scrambled eggs with cheese (an upcharge with cheese), 3 chicken sausage patties and to treat myself one slice of Udi bread. Dumb me, they don't serve butter with gluten free bread. I never got any butter either. They charged me a la carte and brought my breakfast on three plates. That and a cup of coffee was $15.00, more than any dish on the menu. The eggs were good and so was the sausage but not worth a total bill of $17.00 with tip. My waitress was not to blame. She was very gracious and accepted my complaints about the plates and the butter. She did offer me a fresh piece of toast with butter but I already treated myself with the one piece of bread I have allowed myself in months. read more

This First Watch location did not disappoint! It is not a very big restaurant, but is nicely set up. Our waitress was outstanding-she had a great attitude, and was very knowledgeable. I brought friends with me, and we all enjoyed delicious meals. I had the Açaí bowl with almond butter toast. My friends had the traditional breakfast, the biscuits and gravy, the ham eggs Benedict, and the Belgian waffle. Everyone was impressed with the restaurant, and was very satisfied with their meals. The worst service I have received in a long time. If you have little kids this might not be the place for you! I went in there with my 3 year old and my 1 year old who were freezing the entire time we were there . I asked politely if we couldn't be seated outside as I saw two table available , the hostess shouts that there were two people waiting for those tables. Hubs and son got breakfasts but didn't let me get a pic. they were both happy with my son opting for the biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs and hun got the pancake with eggs and bacon. We were invited to attend a foodie dinner at First Watch in Mandarin on Tuesday night. Since First Watch is on my "to try" list, I was very excited to get the invite! The restaurant is a Breakfast/Brunch place. It normally closes at 2:30, but they opened up at dinnertime just for us. We were treated to anything on the menu, so I went with the Sensational Skillet with Ham and Mushrooms (skillet includes potatoes, eggs, and cheese). I got my eggs scrambled and the meal came with an English Muffin and fresh fruit (which I did not get). Everything was outstanding! The potatoes were cooked nicely and the cheese was melted all over the top. Everything went well together and tasted wonderful. The only slight issue I had is that the ham and mushroom content was very low. I counted 4 mushrooms in the whole skillet. My husband got 2 Chocolate Chip Pancakes with a side of bacon. I'm glad he didn't get 3 because the pancakes were huge! The menu warned us, but I still didn't believe it until the food came out. Seriously, dinner plate size! Ivan said the pancakes were very good and the middle had a high concentration of chocolate so it tasted like a cookie. When our food came out, the servers also brought a BLT to our table. At first I thought it was a mistake, but they said that they wanted us to try their lunch options as well. The BLT had (in addition to the usual) a fried egg, cheese and mayo on multi grain bread. After taking one bite, we both said that this was the most delicious sandwich we have ever had. We aren't sure if it was the egg or the cheese, but something kicked this sandwich up a notch. We were both extremely full and ready to go home and lay down...then the dessert came! The servers started bringing out Fresh Fruit Crepes - thin, sweet crepes wrapped around fresh fruit (bananas and strawberries), topped with low-fat organic strawberry yogurt, granola, cinnamon and sugar. For me, the best part was the homemade granola. It was sweet and crunchy and complimented the sauce. I managed to eat half of the crepe before I had to quit. My husband claimed that he was also about to bust, but he ate the rest of mine anyway. I liked the look of the restaurant, it was very open and inviting. One cool thing is that you can see right into the kitchen from every table. To me, that shows that they have nothing to hide! read more

I had a very underwhelming breakfast today at First Watch. The menu apparently changed three months ago taking with it what I wanted to order. The pancake flavor are now just routine - no more wheat germ or bacon cheddar. The French toast sandwich is also gone. Today I ordered the club sandwich and my mom had the traditional breakfast. My sandwich was okay. The bread was kinda warmed but not truly toasted and it was missing the tomato. My mom's scrambled eggs weren't mixed well so lots of separation of the white and yolk. The potatoes were bland and the toast came pre-buttered. The ham steak she loved. While there, the table in front of us sent back their scrambled eggs and were re-made. The table next to us ordered the chickenchanga and it was missing chicken. Not sure how you forget that, but it was also re-made. The place was packed and that might have contributed to the very off day the kitchen was having. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning as the menu items I liked are no longer available. read more

This place was even better than I'd anticipated. We were playing with the search Filters on Yelp and when we saw this place our answer was yes. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but this place is amazing. Did you know the tables had built in coasters?! Its the little things. My sister and I split two meals because it was too hard to narrow down the menu with all the delicious looking options. I've had fresh food before, but I swear the salmon benedict tasted not just fresh, but like if you were going to try and eat the concept of fresh and light. Gushing aside, we come to florida once a month and this will be our new go to for breakfast. I wish I made enough to tip all the wonderful people that worked with us instead of just the servers. Third time is a charm... I have been here twice since my original review. My second experience was similar to my first: cold food plus, as an added bonus, a string of hair. I understand the hair thing happens sometimes... just kind of icky. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Both the biscuits and sausage in the gravy were cold. However, the service was much better this time. My third experience was better. The food was good (I went simple with the traditional breakfast). I love their potatoes and bread. I ordered the half waffle meal for my daughter on both trips and she loved it. The service was okay. I was not offered a high chair for my daughter when we were seated, and had to find one to bring to our table. I didn't see much of the waitress after our food was brought out. We have always been fans of FW, and normally go to the Beach Blvd location. However, this one is much closer to home. I believe this location has potential and I've seen improvement. I appreciate the management reaching out to me after my first visit. My daughter loves the food, and I enjoy the healthy choices FW has to offer. read more

The waitress seemed very distracted when we were there, she only had 2 tables but kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for ??? Like water and to refill our water we had to ask several times. After getting the door slammed in our face at the Beach Diner on Christmas Eve, we discovered this place. It was clean, very friendly, had a quiet atmosphere and clean bathrooms. The food was great. My wife had the egg chimichanga with egg whites. Dad and I had french toast. I had the regular and he had the fancy one. We were all satisfied. To me, the people make all the difference. They were all nice. Happy to be there, even on Christmas Eve. When the server refills your sodas and coffee, checks on you, anticipates your needs, and has a smile? That's all you need. My wife and I came here this morning for breakfast for the first time, and we were very impressed with everything. The restaurant was nicely designed, very clean, and it felt cozy. It's definitely family friendly. Our waitress was very nice, and brought us coffee right away after we were seated. The food came out fairly fast after we put in our orders. I ordered an omelet meal called The Works, while my wife ordered the Avocado, Bacon and Tomato Hash. Our food looked pretty darn good when the server first brought it out. Luckily, it also tasted delicious, and we even had to get a to-go box because we couldn't finish everything. To top it off, a nice stranger gave us a free gift card that paid for one of our meals! What a random act of kindness! I'm still confused as to why he chose to us the gift card out of all the people in the restaurant. It just goes to show that they have a very friendly clientele here.
