Oh my lord this meal was exquisite. I am here in Jax on a girls trip and wasn't expecting too much. The wait to be served was a bit long due to the popularity but I was able to be put on the waitlist before we arrived through the Yelp App. We were seated promptly. Our server Elizabeth was kind, well informed and kept us updated. There was small delays in the kitchen due again to busy crowds but we didn't mind at all. The food was well worth the wait! I got the AM Superfood Bowl and it was amazing. I also got the morning meditation juice which was a breathe of fresh air. I highly recommend the chia pudding! This place is really overrated. Maybe I didn't order the right items, but for the money and the ratings, I wasn't impressed. Let me expound. First,I established my place in line using the save my place option on Yelp! (thumbs up on that, BTW). We got to the restaurant and checked in at the podium...and then the waiting game began. It said that we would only wait for 10", but we waited for 20"...I know, I know, don't judge me until I'll state my case. There were empty tables around and people who just walked in were seated. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we're sitting there waiting with blank looks *crickets*. I felt like I was playing a Marco Polo in an empty pool. Finally, I went to the hostess and she said, "you're next". In my mind, we were next 4 parties ago, but I'll ride out this roller coaster. Second, let's talk about R.O.I. I invested close to $40 for two people for breakfast. The frugal side of me would have expected to be rolled out of the place in a caster chair in a food induced coma, but that was not the case. This was hands down the smallest portions for breakfast at that price point that I've ever had in my life. I ordered a side of Millionaires Bacon, which was rightfully named. While the maple syrup drizzled bacon was very tasty, you'd have to be a millionaire to keep ordering for 5 pieces for $5. We both ordered the Belgian waffle, eggs and a meat. I ordered sausage links - or so I thought "links" because I definitely only got one link. Maybe I'm spoiled by every other restaurant I've visited in my ** years on earth, but I don't think two sausage links would break the bank. The waffle was small and so was the portion of eggs. I have no problem small multi-course meals, but this wasn't that. So, back to the R.O.I. - I didn't really get that here. That said, the shining light of this place was our waitress. She was really nice and while I was less than impressed with the food here, I didn't let it dictate how much I left for tip. Get the lemon ricotta pancakes. They are amazing. The lemon curd was the perfect amount of sour for the pancakes. I didn't notice the ricotta taste very much but the pancakes we're super smooth and soft (that is a compliment but I don't really know how to say they were a good mix of fluffy and chewy). Also they serve a pretty fine cup of coffee. Sunday at 10 am had about a 20 min wait so get in early or make sure you get in the list. Lots of good food and a comfortable environment. Also have to add even though they were busy not once did I feel rushed even after we paid and finishing coffee which is a huge plus. read more

There menu of comfort food is extensive and you can also eat light and healthy if you can avoid the temptation of a massive meal. Most often I opt for the daily special. This place seems to be pretty popular, but I don't get it. I could have just had a bad experience. For starters, our server took forever. It took about 35 minutes for our food to come out, and when it did, it was clear that it had been sitting for awhile, as it was cold. I think she forgot about us, to be honest. I ordered the Ricotta Pancakes, expecting big things, but they were mediocre. My partner got the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits tasted like they were old, and her gravy was cold, as well. 3 stars because the food is good. That is generous with the way the building is run. It was filthy. We watched the bus boy wipe food onto the seats and floor. Tables were empty of customers and still completely full of dirty dishes. One table sat like this the entire time of our visit (30 min wait for a table and then our meal). Our service was fine as was the food. Returned this morning to an entire section of empty tables 5-8 tables with no customers seated yet the wait was 60 mins. We are no longer in restrictions for covid. I don't see the reasoning for putting up with this. We left. I don't know if there are staffing issues or what, but until they can seat the empty tables, we will not be back. read more

I wish I could say it was good. Coffee is terrible. They never bring the milk at the same time and you wait 10 minutes for the milk and by that time your coffee is cold. This happens every single time. The BLT was served on toasted bread that was cold and soggy from the mayo. I had not been here in a few years, but I really liked the bacon and cheddar pancake. I stopped here for breakfast when I was running errands in Mandarin. The wait wasn't bad and the complimentary coffee made it better! They text you when your table is ready, so while waiting you can shop around at the surrounding stores. My favorite pancake was not on the menu, but the server told me they can still make it. I was very happy! Service was excellent, food was delicious, and the place is cute and clean. Have seen this place time and time again and never ventured in. Last Saturday we decided to give it a try. First let me say that I was sure it was going to be good considering the crown and the wait and it delivered...food and service. Food: I had to ask the server to come back twice because I was on overload looking at the breakfast menu~everything sounded yummy and I could not decide. Finally I went with the Bacado. Who ever comes up with these combo's needs a big raise. Addicted to this omelette stuffed with bacon avocado and cheese topped with pico and salsa ( which I had on the side) Other dish ordered was your typical faire..eggs sausage and potatoes with 1 of the biggest pancakes I have ever seen! All tasty and worth the price. Service: Our server was fabulous. What was not fabulous was that we placed our name and watched people who came in after us be seated first. Although the wait was long (over 30 minutes) there were numerous tables open. When I asked the host why people were being seated before us that came after us I was told that they had used their check in app. Thus tables sat empty while we waited and they waited for those people. Makes no sense. Also people who placed their name "on the list" after us were already seated~when I questioned them again we were promptly seated. I've eaten at the Ponte Vedra location also-this was a spot I found on Yelp so we decided to give it a try, Love it! I love the different varieties on the menu. There is definitely something on the menu for any appetite. I still haven't tried the fresh juice yet but that is definitely on my to try list. Great for brunch on the weekends. I always try to sit outside when the weather is nice (it can get a little noisy inside). The food has been excellent everyone I have gone. I usually gravitate towards their "limited time specials" because I have FOMO and don't want to live a life with regrets. Also get the Nowait app. You can "check in" if you are within 10 miles of the restaurant. So if the wait is long you can drag your husband over to world market to pick out throw pillows you may or may not ever use. read more

After reading reviews and seeing pictures from other Yelpers, I wanted to give them a shot. Well I was greeted right away and seated soon after. My server gave me a few suggestions based on what other customers ordered on a regular basis so I decided on the ChickiChanga with a side of Fresh Fruit and Seasoned Potatoes. The chicken inside had great flavor and the queso had just enough spice and smoky flavor to really bring it all together. We always use the Nowait app to check in on our way, so we never have to wait long. Whenever we visit our favorite waitress, Kate brings our standing drink order out to us. I've been to other First Watch restaurants in two different states so I knew what to expect. The food is good but not "OMG I am amazed" good. It's a solid choice for a group of people because they can decide how much food to order and how healthy their choices should be. Despite being a busy Saturday morning our waitress was efficient and friendly and there wasn't much of a wait before the food arrived. We did get off to a rough start. First Watch's website says: "Actually, we do not accept reservations as seating at First Watch is first come, first served. However, if you're dropping by with more than seven of your best friends, we recommend you call ahead. That way we can do our best to prepare for and accommodate your party. (No promises though)." When I called Saturday morning to request a table for 8 in about half an hour I was just told "We don't do that." No 'doing our best to accommodate'.. just "No." Not very helpful. I ended up throwing on my clothes and going up there in person to put my name on the list. Not a huge deal, just annoying and something to be aware of if you're trying to plan a group outing. read more

This is around my 20th time going to First Watch and it is usually my favorite breakfast spot. Unfortunately the last few times I have been the food was sub par and over priced. This time was no different. There were three of us at breakfast. None of us order coffee or juice and out total was $40. 1. Elevated Egg sandwich w/ potatoes. - solid sandwich - bacon was burnt - potatoes were not cooked despite requesting them well done 2. Elevated egg sandwich w/ potatoes - egg over cooked, yolk did not run - bacon also burnt - potatoes not cooked 3. Classic breakfast, over easy eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast - eggs over cooked - burnt bacon - potatoes not cooked Ordered a blueberry pancake for the table. The pancake was half the size it normally is and not surprisingly one side was over cooked. I can't say that I would never go back. But I am definitely not under the mirage that this is worth the up-charge for "artisan" breakfast. read more

In short it was ok for breakfast but we were unimpressed for a special "brunch". I have heard this brunch place was good ,although no alcohol is served, so we decided to give it a try. You can check in on yelp and avoid the wait so that is great! As this was my first experience I decided to have the French toast and the million dollar bacon ( it is seasoned and drizzled With syrup). The French toast was good but uninspired, it could have been great if it had some sort of filling or topping like marscapone or similar flavor. It was served with a side of raspberry preserves or compote. The hubby ordered a frittata and shared it, although it was supposed to be full of Italian style stuffings meats cheeses and veggies galore, but it was merely onion forward, overly toasted, and lacking any flavor other than eggs. any friends ordered two other frittatas one chorizo and one spinach. How disappointing it was. All tasted exactly the same like just plain eggs. If we had it to do again we would not order anything that allows them to determine the amount of ingredients. I.e. two eggs and two strips of bacon and two pancakes and toast. ( ugh sounds like Denny's grand slam?) I get that their healthy choices means less fat and that is what contains most flavor but their should be more veggies added to compensate for that. Holy Schnikey!! This place is BANGIN. Soooooo good. I came here yesterday for lunch, with a colleague and his wife. They guy's wife was coming, so we had to go somewhere healthy. "Okay, forget the chili dogs. My wife is meeting us, so...we're going to First Watch." I'm so glad we did. Awesome. I had the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Power Bowl, and wow.....W.O.W. It was the BEST meal of my business trip in 4 days. (...and I don't mess around. I was looking for good food, trust me.) The Quinoa was light and fluffy...not mushy, which it can easily get if not prepared properly. The sauce......the pesto sauce. OMG, it's the sauce of KINGS. Every bite, I swear I heard Cherubim and Seraphim singing and playing harps and $h*t. No lie. The place is ULTRA clean, the food is out of this world, and the people are friendly and efficient.
