Just another disgusting experience! So it's been a while since we wanted to check this place out and we finally had some spare time to do so. We went on their website, got in waiting line and been promised to get a table within 30-45 min . In 45 min we showed up at the restaurant and they didn't have an empty table for us . It was fine, we waited longer . Finally we got seated and the waitress took our order . While I was going through Yelp reviews and pictures of this place, a dish on the picture got my attention and I asked our waitress to confirm that the dish on the picture is "Parma hash" that was listed on their menu. She confirmed it and I placed my order. It's been more than 30 min wait and we finally got our food. I noticed that my dish doesn't look the same and definitely missing a lot of the ingredients. After some time we were able to catch our waitress that was trying to prove me that "Parma hash" is the dish I have in front of me. When I asked her about the ingredients in the dish she wasn't sure and went to get the menu to show it to me . The plate in front of me was " Farmhouse hash" which is completely different thing. She took my plate back and said they will prepare me the right thing shortly . After a minute or so she comes back saying it's going to take about 15 more min because kitchen was busy . And that's when I lost my patience and asked for the manager. When manager arrived to the table , she said that the waitress told her a different story of the situation as it was my mistake and not hers. Manager apologized and said I will get my dish as soon as possible. Few seconds later my waitress brings me my food (obviously it was someone else's order) but oh well, I ate it. Right before we left , my son noticed something on the floor. He thought it was a spider , but when we looked closer it was a dead cockroach. It was so disgusting I almost vomited right there ... that place definitely needs another health/food inspection!!! read more

We were hankering for a meal and decided to double date with our friends from church after service. We pulled in and there was a line; at 1:15 in the afternoon!! Checked in, with a 45 minute wait; I wanted to check elsewhere because I'm impatient like that, but my wife wasn't feeling it, and our friends suggested the spot soooo.....we waited. Probably about 35 minutes later we were sat down on a table(2 tables pushed together) for 8. Parents on the wings and kids in the middle. The spacing is just right, chairs solid, and generally welcoming atmosphere. Families of all size and diversity...that's a good sign for me. Kids settled on choc chip pancake and French toast. I got the Parma skillet and my wife got an omelette. The wait was reasonable, portions adequate, but the food tasted so good!!! There's something about the potatoes, the crisp from almost starting to burn in butter, sausage wasn't overpowering and perfect bite size mushrooms and tomatoes that were smack in the middle of freshly chopped and over cooked to oblivion, 2 eggs over easy and some cholula to finish it off. What's I'm saying is; it's a top notch skillet, coffee was good, and my wife finished her omelette. My friend enjoyed his tacos and French toast. It's a good spot, priced a smidge above the market, and my only gripe is adding a pancake or French toast to a meal is pricey. Like $6.00 pricey . But for under $60 for family of 4 with tax and nice tip it's decent value. A solid 4, and the traffic backs this up. read more

I've been to several First Watch locations and this was by far the best (so far!) Four of us went at a busy time and everything was perfect from the moment we walked in until we walked out. Chris, the GM gave us personal service, checking on our table a few times. Our server (? Shep) was so sweet & attentive, yet not hovering. The food was out to our table quickly & done to perfection. I feel their food choices are clean and healthier than most other breakfast/brunch restaurants. The atmosphere was quiet & conducive to having a conversation. I've been here three times in the past month and the food is delicious. Today I got the smoked salmon benedict for the second time, it's so good. The atmosphere is comfortable and the service is always good. Our waitress was new and having a hard time splitting our check. She asked the waiter if he would help her and he was so patient and calm with her. Refreshing to see the way he handled this, in such a professional manner. Wait time was excessive (27 mins) DESPITE getting on the "wait list" 20 mins prior to getting here. What's the point of getting on a wait list 20 mins before we arrived just to have to sit here for ANOTHER 20-25 mins? I say this because a couple who literally came in right behind us told the hostess they were NOT on the wait list, asked for a table for 2 and got seated just mere seconds after we did. We once at the table, the waitress was prompt and we gave her our order. When she came back with the drinks about 10 mins later, we asked about the breakfast appetizers we ordered... (she clearly forgot) and told us they'd be out shortly. Another 15-20 mins goes by and out come the appetizers we were wanting to enjoy w/our coffee. Another 10-15 mins goes by before she brings out our food and IT'S COLD! Stone cold! Ever try to cut a piece of French toast that's 20 mins old off the griddle. It's not easy. Neither is chewing it up. The only good news was the extra crispy bacon we all asked for was perfect. Needless to say, the waitress came back, asked how our food was and my kids said "COLD". Got here right as they are about to close. They were friendly and helpful. I told them it was my first time and I was looking for something healthy and fast. I got the avocado toast and a drink. I wish I could describe the drink but my menu was whisked away. Overall very delicious, wheat bread tasted flavorful and heaps of avocado. I would have given 5 stars but the lobby was noticeably unkept and dirty. They were working on shutting down but could have done a better job IMO. It's always a pleasure visiting First Watch for brunch! This location is so close to home I feel spoiled. Breakfast and brunch here are always a treat because you never run out of options to try. The blueberry pancakes are obnoxiously good and the bacon is so thick and crispy you will just forget about all your cares. They have a great combination of health food and traditional breakfast food with a special twist. The drinks are amazing as well! Forget the traditional mimosa (which they have here and is very good), First Watch takes brunch drinks to a whole new level with cocktails mixed specifically for summer. First time here, not good! It was packed for breakfast on a Saturday morning and that's fine. But our food took about 1 hour to come out and it was cold! The eggs were cold-cold, toast was cold, really bad. Returned the meal and we are now waiting for a new order. Looks like the plate was just sitting and no one picked it up. I must say, growing up in the area for over the last 30 + years, to see a menu that has so many delicious items to try, this place is going to be great. Key point here, if you can execute on the food you've described in the menu. I went with the Chickenchalada. My beautiful partner went with the 1/2 Ham and Gruyere sandwich \ tomato soup lunch. I've been to many first watch locations in the area and so far this one has the best decor inside. I love how open and welcoming it is. They even have cool details in the lighting like the doors as a light fixture. The open kitchen is also cool. You can see right into their kitchen and see how clean and nice it is. Very creative and great vibe in this place. Food was a bit slow which is understandable because they were completely packed. I came on a Sunday which is probably their busiest day. Service was also good. It's just what you would expect from any restaurant :) Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves brunch food! read more

We ordered the short rib poutine hash, avocado toast, butter grits, frittata rustica plus a mimosa and their million dollar Bloody Mary. The frittata, avocado toast and butter grits were all good and definitely worth trying but the short rib purine hash was REALLY tasty! Definitely order that if you want something hearty, savory and satisfying! The service was great and everyone was very friendly. There seemed to be a delay with getting our order from the kitchen, as other tables seated after us were getting their food first, but the delay wasn't terrible - that's the only reason this is a 4 star instead of 5. The price of the breakfast was a bit high for what you received. Most offer more for the price of the trifecta breakfast. It comes with 1 waffle, choice of breakfast meat, and 2 eggs. Guess If it came with more, it wouldn't be called a trifecta but for the price, potatoes should have been included. The berries that come with the waffle are all mashed up in a small dipping bowl like a jam. My cousin said she always has to send back her biscuits and gravy because the gravy is never hot. I have had better breakfast elsewhere but if you are looking for basic, this is a basic place to go. read more

This was my first time trying First Watch. I had Doordash delivery. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. They were astonishingly amazing! I've never had Ricotta Pancakes, and what a treat! I didn't need to eat both very large pancakes, (but I did)! The Pancakes arrived at the perfect temp, with lots of little extras as far as condiments, and plastic cutlery. They were not shy with the Lemon topping! There were fresh strawberries cut up and served with the dish and they were a sweet perfect touch. Honestly, they did not need anything added to them! We had breakfast delivered and they took advantage that we couldn't send it back. Burnt pancake, potatoes were raw in the middle, and $2 per slice bacon candy was undercooked and soggy. We would happily pay $65.00 for breakfast if it was GOOD... but McDonald's would have been better today. What a shame. Wayyyy too many better choices for breakfast, ones who really take pride in their food and serving their customers. Then got stuck at a table that was blocked a little by a divider/pillar. Waited another 10 minutes before I just got up and left. I understand having to wait but they weren't even busy! I was thrilled to see First Watch opening up here in McKinney--it was always our top choice for breakfast before we moved to the area and I missed it. I have been here twice in the past 10 days. The restaurant is charming, bright and spacious. On both visits, we were seated quickly and our orders were taken and served in a reasonable amount of time. On both visits, we ordered coffee but were not offered water to drink until we asked for it. In my past experience at other locations, a pitcher of water is brought to the table, so I was surprised not to see that here. Not a big issue, but since it happened on both visits, it's either an oversight that should be addressed with the servers or perhaps it's a policy not to serve water? The food was delicious and presented well. Overall, I recommend this place and will be back. I will just be sure to add water to my order! read more
