Brunch isn't something that I get to experience often, but when I do I look forward to it. My sister always raves about the First Watch in Oklahoma so we decided to try the one here. Me and 10 friends came here for brunch and chose this location since they seemed like they could accommodate for larger parties. Since our party was so big they were really nice about accommodations, and they were able to get us one big large top table altogether. The server was really nice and helpful, but the overall experience was bad since the food took over 1 1/2 hours to come out. They were decently busy, but I feel like over an hour is a bit long. The food then turned out to be a bust. We all got an array of things: I started with the kale tonic juice which was amazing, and the got the Parma Skillet Hash with my eggs poached. The skillet hash was not good, it was just a bunch of sautéed mushy vegetables. My eggs were also completely overcooked with no runny yolk, and one was missing a yolk. The waitress was nice enough to give me two eggs on the side, but they were also over cooked so I gave up. I also tried the works omelette, short rib poutine, and Belgian waffle. The Works omelette was good, but it was cold by the time we got it which made it less appealing. And the short ribs wasn't something memorable. My favorite part of the meal was the buttered multigrain toast that can with the entree, and the jam. We visit First Watch at least twice a month for a group brunch. We love the food, the aesthetics, the cocktails. The only issue we ever have is seating. We always check in online and when we get there but still have to wait for 20-30 minutes to be seated. Which is fine, it's deft worth it, it just makes it seem pointless to do the online checking in and everything. Anyway, try the avocado toast, it's delicious! The chickichanga is also a personal favorite! Mimosas are amazing, and the morning glory is delightful! Come hungry, bring your friends, and be prepared to wait to be seated. Still one of my all-time favorites! Whenever we are in town, we make it a point to come here for breakfast or brunch. I especially like the huge menu with a broad selection of healthy and natural dishes. Keep in mind that the calorie count is actually pretty high on some of these healthy dishes. Today, I ordered the power bowl with quinoa and chicken pesto. It is listed as about 800 calories. It was a bit too rich for me, but still a very tasty dish. It's actually a fairly large portion, so light eaters might want to split an order. My wife had the Belgian waffle with fruit on the side, which also was very tasty. My wife tells me that it should come with more berry compote. Keep in mind that this location can get extremely busy at times. At some locations you have to get there right at opening to avoid a wait. If you come on a weekend around breakfast or brunch time, it is very likely you'll have to wait a while. As usual, excellent food, excellent service, reasonable prices. Please build one of these restaurants in the San Francisco area. Our server today was especially friendly and helpful. I've been a customer since that location opened in 2017-2018 and have always enjoyed the breakfast served there. In fact, it became my favorite place to have breakfast. I enjoyed the local farm to table feel, the coffee, the healthy selections. I've always taken the time to compliment the staff and place a positive review of the First Watch brand wherever I go. On 5/06/23 I dined at your Plano, Tx location which is my location of choice. While the server was very kind, the experience was less then. When we first walked in, 6 employees huddled at the hostess stand talking amongst themselves, while another person stood at the checkout stand. Neither offered to seat us or even acknowledged our presence until a server came from the kitchen and sat us. We had the pesto power bowl (they didn't put the lemon pesto vinaigrette on the dish. We also had the frittata rustica and side salad (the frittata was over way cooked, the salad wasn't dressed and the lettuce was partially wilted). Lastly, was a single lemon ricotta pancake with butter only (it came out with lemon curd only, no butter, no syrup. The pancake was cold and paled in comparison to the flavor I'd become accustomed to that made me list it as one of the best pancakes in Dallas. Our server was very apologetic and stated that most of the kitchen staff were new. We summoned the store manager (Myriam Reyes) to inform her of the experience. She apologized and also stated her staff was rather new. She handed me her business card and said to ask for her next time we're there. No offer of take off the stuff that was bad. Post pandemic, I've only been to the restaurant a handful of times. But I've noticed a marked change in quality that has made First Watch the hallmark of breakfast spots in my area. I have several other restaurant choices that includes major brands like La Madeline's, Snooze AM Eatery, and Bread Winners but I choose to remain at F.W. What's really rubbing me raw besides that prices have increased and the quality has decreased, is that the manager offered zero solutions to our issues other than talking to her staff. Spending $50 plus for substandard food requires me to reevaluate First Watch. read more

Not all First Watch restaurants are equal! I've been to this First Watch several times for breakfast with a friend. The last time was a few days ago and my breakfast was so disappointing. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast. The eggs were cold, the sausage was also cold and burnt on the bottom. The cook "cleverly" set the burnt side down but I couldn't even cut through it. The potatoes were also cold and not cooked through - inedible! The hottest item on the plate was the toast. Also came with seem to be either raspberry/strawberry compote. I didn't care for that.. too sweet and made the French roast soggy. Customer service: 3/5 my waitress was great. This place is a hidden gem. Food is very fresh and tasty, but it's on the balanced side. They have both a seasonal menu and a traditional menu. They have plenty of space for both small parties or larger ones (+10), have high and low tables, and booth. Outdoors seating may be limited and it's just not covered by umbrellas so I will definitely stick to the inside since it's very open and comfortable. They tend to get busy during the peak hours, but service it's A+ and fast. I think prices are also a plus given the quality of the food. read more

I come to the Plano (Custer Road) branch fairly frequently, usually in the later part of the week. I am usually treated with courtesy and prompt service. But lately that has not been the case. As an example, I went to the restaurant this morning (Monday) around noon and waited before getting seated. Once seated with a menu, no one came to check if I wanted coffee or was ready to order for 15 minutes. All walked past this invisible seated man with a menu in front of him. I left. I should point out that the place was NOT full nor were the waitstaff "rushed of their feet." That situation I could excuse. My question for management and the waitstaff is: Is it OK to keep an older single man waiting, even if he is rich and a generous tipper? Your loss; I went elsewhere and got great service and food. Apparently not as "couldn't care less" about older single male customers. For the usual service and food I had there before, I'd score you 4, but for a Monday morning snub, I give you 2 because I feel generous despite the snub. read more

I recommend checking in to the wait line online, but when we got there due to a bunch of tables turning over at once we were told we couldn't be seated for another 15 minutes. But when they saw my elderly in-laws needed seating the servers demonstrated true teamwork, with Amber covering for Kate (our server) while she wrapped up her business at the other tables. I was impressed with how they came together and supported each other to meet our needs. There was also a delay with the kitchen (we came at the busiest time) but Kate managed our expectations and continually checked in with us to keep us informed. First visit on a weekday morning with my daughter, her boyfriend and his parents and grandmother. Interior is roomy but it was bustling. We were seated in a separate dining room which was less crowded but very cold. Suggest bringing a jacket or sweater. I don't like overly cold spaces as my food gets cold quicker. Nice touches - the water and coffee are in carafes so you can get your own refills and the coffee mugs were a good size. The syrup for my waffle was warm, but the pico for my eggs was semi-frozen. My order was supposed to have 2 scrambled eggs but the portion was so small it looked like one. The pork sausages were flavorful but tiny. The food was tasty, and I think a good value. Can't believe I had never heard of or been to this place until today! Such a cute little cafe for breakfast or brunch! The food was delicious - I loved their BLT eggs benedict! Great service. Their other food looked delicious as well, especially the omelettes and the hashes. I saw people ordering juice too, and I definitely want to try one the next time I come!
