First time here, and everything we had was delectable and tasted super fresh!! The orange juice tasted like it was fresh squeezed !! My husband and I both ordered the chickichanga which consists of chicken, chorizo sausage, green chilies, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla with sour cream and a Veracruz sauce. Staff significantly unprofessional, berated me for trying to get a glass of orange juice, tried to flag down a waiter and the manager Abby got upset and said "most people don't yell there order across the room". This was after I tried to address her for her obnoxious, rude Lucidious demand to put my mask on right when I got out of my booth. Also screamed the same to my guest which was just lowering his mask for a moment to unlock his phone. I really enjoyed my visit to First Watch! I visited on a busy Sunday morning, but was able to cut down my wait time by adding my name to their online waitlist from Yelp. It gave me the approximate wait time and told me what time to arrive at the restaurant. When I arrived, we waited 2 minutes before our table was ready! When technology goes right, for the win! Now for the food, I loved the variety of healthy breakfast options. This is your typical American style breakfast done right. I really enjoyed their eggs and French toast. Very yummy! It was also a very generous serving of French toast considering I substituted it for a pancake with my meal. Overall, First Watch is a perfect combination of a no frills breakfast spot with quality service. It's a solid option if your searching for breakfast in the area. Also perfect for families with young kids. I honestly don't know how anyone could go to IHOP after visiting here. read more

If you're looking for a classic brunch experience, this is it. The pancakes, eggs, everything is perfection. It's a more casual restaurant, this is a solid experience, very clean and cute ambiance with wonderful food but just one step down from a supremely elevated more expensive breakfast spot. We waited for our food for over one hour. The cooks were not wearing masks but you if come in without wearing yours they make a big deal, I thought the mask mandate applies to everybody not just the customers. Well I wish I could say I enjoyed my experience, however I placed my order along with my coworkers at 11:40 for pick up at 12:15; i didn't get my order until 12:33 my coworkers were still waiting die their food, we alerted the staff and they were very rude to us and as opposed to bringing our food all at once they purposely brought it one by one even after one of them had already said "ohh yeah i saw them" never came back and they would sent different workers to drop off orders one by one. And all of them were rude. By the time we all hot our order and made it back to the office our food was already cold. My food was packed upside down so yeah I can't even say that the food was great either. The customer service in this location is awful. read more

This was my first time at First Watch Rockville- the only other time I've been to First Watch was in Florida and the menu is pretty much exactly the same (minus the fact it's much pricier in MD). We went for Sunday brunch around 2pm. The wait time for two people was long but thankfully we utilized the Yelp waitlist! We put ourselves on the waitlist around 12:30, and we arrived at the restaurant around 1:45 and only had to wait about 5 minutes for our table. After we were seated it was about 10 minutes before someone came to our table to take our beverage orders. My husband got the coffee (they give you a whole pot) and I ordered the Morning Meditation which was a beautifully layered fresh juice of orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beet. The drink tasted super fresh and refreshing and the flavors complemented each other very well. It was on the slightly sweet side so maybe I'll ask for less agave nectar next time. They also put a ton of ice, so I would probably ask for less ice as well. We ordered a couple different menu items- the French toast, carrot cake pancake, banana granola pancake, the chikichanga, and the breakfast tacos (both without Chorizo). The French toast was pretty average. I felt that it was pretty dense and dry, but it tasted alright with the butter and the warm berry compote. The pancakes are HUGE and dense. The carrot cake pancake is definitely a must-try. It has shredded carrots and just the right amount of raisins and the batter has that carrot cake spice that make it truly unique. The banana granola pancake has a great flavor and is complete with warm, gooey pieces of whole banana. I felt like they definitely did not give enough butter for the size of the pancake, and I didn't get the chance to ask for more. The chickichanga was really good, although be warned it is pretty heavy. All the flavors went together very well between the chicken, chilies, cheese, and avocado and it was all wrapped up in a warm tortilla. The vera cruz sauce added a nice creaminess and richness to the dish. It was served with breakfast potatoes which were pretty subpar in my opinion- some of them were too burnt to eat. Also the avocado tasted a little funny as if it was too ripe. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos. The wheat corn tortillas tasted super fresh and it was a simple, yet filling meal. I had to add some hot sauce for a bit more flavor on the eggs but overall I thought it was really good. Although I'd say the food and service was pretty average, I gave an extra star for the atmosphere, location (it's in heart of Rockville Town Center), and plethora of unique menu items. I would definitely pay them another visit in the future, but I won't be rushing to come back anytime soon. read more

I've been to this First Watch many times (7-10). I absolutely love it because every time I come here, the customer service and food are always consistent. Our server is always so accommodating to us and our food comes at a fairly good time (not too long but definitely not fast). Keep in mind, this place is super popular for brunch/lunch time. You will usually have to wait during their busy hours but the wait is never longer than 15-20 mins. Overall, this place has great selections of breakfast/ lunch for all types of people (vegan, meat lovers, kids etc). Their coffee is not the best though if you like darker coffee- it's on the lighter and watery side. However, it's still good enough for me to enjoy. The prices are decent for the portions. We were a walk-in party of two on a random weekday morning, and were quickly seated. It seems as if they also do orders for carryout and there were a few people at the front trying to order. The food and service here were incredible. I ordered the AM Superfoods Bowl and was pleasantly surprised at how filling and how delicious the meal was! The food did take a while to come out, but we weren't super hungry and had our coffee/drinks brought out right away so it wasn't an issue. I love the fact that they have a "healthier side" menu with some flavorful options. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have oat milk or soy milk, but they did have gluten free bread which was convenient for my friend who has a lot of food intolerances or allergies. There's another location that's close to my home, and I'm looking forward to trying First Watch again and exploring the menu a bit further. read more

Pretty popular place, be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. I didn't and had to wait about 1 hr and 20 min for a party of 3. Food is great though when they are busy, they are busy. Our server forgot to bring out our drink orders or maybe didn't put them in but it wasn't an issue since I ended up wanting to cancel mine but gave my friend hers to go happily. I don't understand the hype of this place. I have tried the BLTE, Veggie Burger, and the Chickichanga on separate occasions. All were too bland, even with salt and Cholula. My partner had similar feelings with some of the hashes. The only satisfying meal I've had was with the Elevated Egg Sandwich -- possibly the brioche bun and runny egg provide a lot of naturally punchy flavor, in addition to the textures of the lettuce and bacon. The million dollar bacon is a good appetizer as well if you want to indulge (but kinda pricey for what it is), and the coffee is solid. The lemon ricotta pancakes are good to share, but I wouldn't have them as my main meal. Overall an average to slightly above average breakfast/brunch spot given all the misses. I keep going back during weekdays when it's not busy because so many things *sound* good, but I am afraid of continuing to try new stuff then end up wasting my money... of course, unless i suppose i just stick to the ol' faithfuls. I have been a victim of the super long weekend brunch waits -- never doing that again. During COVID, they have outdoor seating, which is really nice. It's only kinda annoying when the leaf blowers are doing their thing at the same time, but I suppose that's not the restaurant's fault. Service has varied in quality. I've been to this restaurant several times and have overlooked issues with the quality of my food and service until now. On my most recent visit, however, I came to the conclusion that I will no longer be going back here to eat unless there are some guaranteed changes. To begin, the blueberries that came in the fruit cup that my elderly, 85 year old grandmother ordered, were shriveled and moldy. Had she not offered to share her fruit cup with the rest of the table, no one would have seen the mold on the blueberries and she would have eaten them and possibly gotten sick. As a restaurant dedicated to serving fresh food, First Watch should know that food that is visibly moldy also has invisible mold growing on it, and that sometimes even invisible bacteria is growing alongside it as well. It was not just one or two berries that were inedible, but every last one in the bowl if you carefully looked at each berry. I took a picture of the fruit cup, and immediately brought this to the server's attention, who apologized, and replaced it with a new, fresh looking fruit cup. However, I had two children dining with me as well--a three year old and an eight year old--and both had ordered food with blueberries in it, so I was very nervous about whether or not they'd been served moldy fruit as well in their dishes, but I hadn't noticed. I too had ordered a blueberry muffin and questioned if the berries in that muffin had been moldy. Obviously, no one was doing quality checks in the kitchen as the food was being expedited, or else they would have seen the mold on the fruit. It was quite visible and disgusting, and never should have been served. The second issue I had was with the service we received. For example, it took long wait times and having to remind our server repeatedly to bring basics to the table such as half and half for coffee, hot coffee, and extra napkins. After reminding my server about the missing napkins for the third time, for instance, her excuse was that she'd told a coworker to get the napkins, putting the blame on a different person. By the time we finally received the napkins, everyone's hands were sticky. Another instance of the type of poor service we experienced, was when my nephew was served pancakes without syrup, yet given an enormous serving of butter on top of his pancakes. Had he ordered a stack of pancakes, I could understand putting that much butter on them, but he'd ordered from the kid's menu, which is just one large pancake. Fortunately, we were able to catch that detail and take half of the butter off his pancake before he started eating it. And, after waiting several minutes for the server to return to check on the food, I ended up just getting up from the table, interrupting my meal, and asking the person cleaning a nearby table for the syrup bottle that she was taking to the back. I'd also like to mention a detail that really irks me about this place, which is the fact that you have to request fresh half and half for your coffee, because they only serve single-serve International Delight creamers. For those that are unaware, International Delight single-serve creamers are a non-dairy product that contain sugar, palm oil, natural and artificial flavors, and many preservatives. These ingredients extend the product's shelf life so that it can sit on the dining table all day without refrigeration. Given the type of restaurant that this is, I would imagine that many of its customers are either against using such creamers and/or prefer actual half and half, so I'm puzzled as to why it's such a big deal when you request real half and half. Furthermore, by the time the requested half and half came out, my cup of black coffee was cold, and I had to wait another 5-10 minutes while a fresh pot of hot coffee could be brewed. First Watch says that "freshness is never compromised" and that it only uses "the finest ingredients possible for the freshest taste around," but this was not my experience today, and it has certainly missed the mark numerous times in the past, which I have overlooked because I really wanted to like this place. I enjoy its location, its concept, and its menu offerings, but between the issues that I've had with the service on my most recent visit and issues I've experience in the past, I can not recommend this place to my friends and family, and would certainly caution people to look carefully at their food before eating it. At the very least, I would have appreciated a visit from the manager to our table, to personally apologize for the fruit cup, and the other issues that went awry during our visit. However, this never happened, and I was embarrassed that I'd brought my out of town guests to this establishment. I simply won't be back unless some things change. read more

I was just a little bothered that instead of getting a small bottle of milk we had this tiny plastic pacs, but that's not a big deal. Many restaurants in the Town Square do not open until 11:30 AM, making it hard to avoid the lunch rush crowd (BWW and Gordon Biersch opens at 11AM). - Food has been consistently delicious. - I love their seasonal dishes -- great because you can try out new dishes even if you're a regular. Ever get tired of staring at the same menu? - I find the food better than iHop/Waffle House/Denny's. It's less greasy, there's more variety, and the servers are generally happier and more attentive. - The few times I've been here the servers have been super nice. They checked up on my table multiple times, were very attentive, and very friendly. - There's a healthy option! solid breakfast & brunch cafe located in downtown rockville, aka rockville town square. i enjoyed walking through the "old town-esque" streets to get from the parking structure to the main entrance of the cafe. my brother and i had a long overdue sibling only meal, and we were lucky to be seated right away at 9am on a sunday morning. not long after we ordered, the place started filling up quite quickly. to start, i had the "day glow" ($3.99) from their fresh juice bar, which consisted of freshly squeezed fruits, veggies, and ginger. it had a nice zing to it without being overly sweet, although i'm not sure if i'd pay $3.99 again for an 8oz glass of juice. for my meal, i opted for the healthy turkey ($8.79) which consisted of an egg white omelet with turkey, house-roasted onions, tomatoes, spinach and feta, with a dry english muffin on the side and a small saucer of fruit preserves. i requested this meal without the feta cheese, and no salt & butter to make it even healthier. i will say, it was very healthy, and very fresh, and made with little oil. since i'd just finished a bootcamp workout earlier that morning, i was feeling pretty good about starting off my day the right way! from a price point, i thought this healthy meal was definitely worth it. service was attentive and we received water refills without asking. dishes were also cleared in a timely manner, and check brought to us towards the end of our meal (again, without us asking). we paid the bill at the front where the cashier stand was, and headed out. lucky for us, sundays are free to park in the nearby parking structure, and street parking is also free on sundays, for future reference. read more

I think the brunch was very average. The place reminded me of a 24x7 highway diner that was trying to be cool with a chalk board :) There was a bit of a wait - about 20 minutes and once we were served, our waitress was quick and bit short (another reminder to a highway diner lol) I wanted some hot tea and when it came out, I realized there were only 3 flavor options. That being said, the chamomile I chose was warm and soothing, so no real complaints. For food, I had the greek fetish - it looked delicious on the menu, but once it came out, it was so totally under seasoned. Once i had seasoned it though, it was pretty yum. My brunch companion had the Chickichanga - it was pretty okay too, again I think a bit over sold on their menu with the description. He also had the special cucumber cooler, which was absolutely yumm. Our server tended to disappear for periods of time, but when she did come she was pretty attentive. Clearly, the place has things going for it, which is why there seems to always be a wait (from what I hear).
