We had a great positive conversation with her about staying busy. She was so charming and upbeat. We absolutely loved the suggestions she helped us with when ordering: Healthy Turkey Omellette (Turkey, Feta, Egg Whites, Spinach), Elevated Egg Sandwich (Egg over easy, gruyere cheese, avocado, bacon), and the MILLIONARE DOLLAR BACON! I will not be returning to any First Watch location after the poor service and treatment received yesterday, and their poor stance towards service animals. I frequent both this location and the Biltmore at least once a month, and at this specific location on two different experiences that I can easily remember seeing dogs on their patio. Yesterday I brought my dog for brunch and was not warmly received at the entrance when asking for a table outside. The server was standoffish, and said she has to check with her manager before allowing my dog to have water. The manager then comes over after we've ordered and refused to give my dog water out of a to go dish, saying that it was against health code. He also said it was against health code to have the dog anywhere but underneath the table (my dog had come out to say hi to another employee who wanted to pet him). I worked in restaurants for over a dozen years and that is simply just not true. He also questioned me if he was actually a service dog, which he is an ESA and I didn't appreciate being questioned again after the interaction at the front desk. The server didn't check back on us after taking our initial order until we had about two bites left of our meals. The food was good but based on the treatment from the manager and the server, we will not be back. read more

The Italian Wedding soup was so salty that I had to mention it to the manager and the ice tea was also returned. As for the food, the turkey sandwich with bacon and avocado was a good sandwich that needed the bread toasted more. Server was pretty detached...okay we'll call her an inefficient order taker. My friend had the Trifecta. Don't get scrambled because they will give you a tablespoon size of "2 eggs". Belgian waffle and a sausage link are good Coffee is always good. I ordered the Chickichanga with no avocado. It was delivered with avocado sticking out of it. Didn't even touch it. Had to wait a while to see Next Chickichanga was half the size barely any chicken or chorizo inside, topped with a teaspoon of sour cream. The side of fresh fruit was a shot glass with 1 grape and 1 pineapple cube. What a joke! 4 months later have not been back and can't seem to forget how awful and flavorless my meal was...and the joke fruit salad. read more

Firstly, shame on me for not taking a photo! That said, the staff, service, and food at this location is impeccable! We were on our way up north and had our dog with us. The main patio was directly in the hot sun, so they walked us through the restaurant to a small extra patio room. The server came right in and took our order. Then, the manager came in and turned on the fan to make sure we would be comfortable. Then, another manager came in, actually sat down and petted our dog! Then, he brought her water and bacon! Our food came about 3 mins later and was delicious! I was very moved by the attentiveness of the staff here, and the pet friendly accommodations...They are definitely second to none! First time to try this restaurant last Wednesday, Nov. 6 with a friend. I ordered coffee. It came in a carafe. Once, I poured it into my cup and had a drink, the coffee was LUKEWARM. I told the waitress who argued with me that it couldn't be lukewarm since she got direct from where the coffee was made. I showed her that the coffee didn't even have a steam. She reluctantly left to replace it. She really gave me the attitude. Ordered an omelette with Italian sausage. The omelette was overcooked. It also tasted like pizza in an omelette form. Not very good. It came with a toast that was ALREADY buttered. I was expecting butter on the side. Was not asked whether I wanted it buttered or not. I also opted for a salad rather than potatoes. My friend ordered frittata. She seems to like it. The eggs also look overcooked. The place looks like a regular mom & pops breakfast place. A little better than Denny's but not by much. Will I return? NO, especially with the server we got. She really should NOT be in that job. Put her where she didn't have to deal with the public. read more

Super friendly staff. Reasonably priced. I ordered the Avocado Toast with over-medium eggs. The avocado spread was creamy, fresh, and seasoned well with a hint of lemon! It may not look like a lot of food in the photo I posted, but it was filling and I left happy and full! We got our receipt from our waitress after we finished eating, and paid it to the hostess in the front on our way out -- this method makes it super easy if you are splitting the bill with friends. We will never go to this first watch again. Normally, we love First watch. Favorite meal is the salmon Benedict, but it can be a hit or miss whether they overcook the poached egg. However, our last time to this specific location, we went Father's Day, and it wasn't any more busy than a regular Sunday and it wasn't our first time coming in with a party of 7. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was also the bartender. It took a very long time just to get us all waters. Then he finally took our order, we ordered two corn bread appetizers as we were hungry, and everyone ordered their own meals and drinks. Our drinks came out quick and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for our food to come out while the entire time we never saw our waiter. We ended up getting our appetizers a few minutes after our meals were served so we were all very hungry digging into our food. Nearing the end of the meal, I looked up and saw my husband never got his food. I got the waiters attention finally, and told him our concerns about receiving our appetizers late and not getting my husbands food. My husband didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to interrupt our meals and make me upset. The waiter said he can bring it out in a few minutes or remove it from the check. Furious, I told him to just remove it from the check and that it was unacceptable to forget an entire order as my husband is still hungry only having eaten some of the cornbread and my daughters small pancake leftovers. Brought it up to the manager when I paid and he just told me why we didn't say anything to him to begin with, and he made it feel like it was my fault and I needed to do something sooner. TLDR: Don't come to this First Watch... unless you're not hungry or expecting to be served food in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Why would I want to come back here? For the most part, I wouldn't. First, the positives: nice and efficient server, most of the food was tasty. Now, for why I will probably never enter this place again: it took 35 minutes to get our food; my chicken breakfast burrito (they say Chickichanga) was room temperature on the outside and luke warm inside (since my potatoes were hot, seems obvious that the kitchen sat my burrito to the side while they cooked potatoes); my wife's omelette was luke warm, also); my potatoes were so salty as to almost be inedible. Could I have sent it all back to be redone? Sure. Would I wait another 35 minutes, though? To be fair, it was not the server's fault. She kept eyeing the kitchen and even asked about the orders. I literally finished my meal (which was wonderful) then waited just over 20 minutes before he made eye contact with me and I asked for a refill of tea. The only thing that got his attention was the fact that I put my credit card on the bill and he told me I needed to pay up front. Like my empty tea glass wasn't enough. I usually enjoy the First Watch restaurants but the one on Shea and 93rd St. in Scottsdale has fallen short of quality for me. I ate breakfast there this week and had a garden vegetable omelette, which was served with a small side of salad. Within 1-1& 1/2 hrs of leaving the restaurant I became sick to my stomach. I had to stop twice before I got home. It was apparent I had some spoiled food or improperly cooked food - I am assuming it was the mushrooms, or it could have been the lettuce in the salad. Within several hours, I had cleared my system (bad news) and I was okay. I called the County Health Dept. to see if they had any reports on this location, but they didn't have any. Health Dept. said it could be something that was unique to my meal. But, just to be safe, I will not be going back there. read more

I am disappointed in Firstwatch management. We always liked the food but shame on Firstwatch for condoning their management to belittle and talk to the wait staff like they are beneath them. Several months ago management changed, and we have experienced more than once the new manager running around like his hair was on fire, but today was the last time we choose to go there and have to watch him snap at his waitresses working the door or scream at them making them all visibly uncomfortable. We have always wanted to say something, because that staff really works hard, and it is just not right. A few months back he was screaming at a waitress and we all heard. This is awful. Who would want to work with such a person. From our perspective he is being a bully. Until Firstwatch changes it's view on this sort of uncontrolled behavior we will unfortunately not be going back. This time I ordered Truffled wild mushroom frittata from the seasonal menu. It was delightful with a bowl of fruit and ciabatta toast which was extremely salty. So don't ignore that seasonal menu! The coffee is always fresh brewed and water is filtered! One other interesting fact is that they separate the bill by seat so splitting the check is a no brainer. I ended up getting a pastrami breakfast sandwich and she told me if I loved it to " yelp it out loud".. after we laughed and I got my food I came home and well I guess I'm "Yelping it out loud" Loved the suggestion it was so good . Probably the best breakfast I've had. I ordered off the specials menu, it was a crab cake Benedict with a spicy hollandaise sauce and a side of mixed greens that comes with the dish. Everything was literally perfect. The eggs poached perfectly, the dressing on the greens was so light and fresh. I asked for the hollandaise on the side because Not every place makes is good; it was great. The crab cakes themselves were delicious too. My mom ordered a breakfast quinoa bowl, which I didn't think would be nearly as delicious as it was since it sounded so healthy haha but it was actually great. The veggies were cooked perfectly, not soggy and over cooked like a lot of places tend to do. Our server, Mareah (I could be spelling that wrong), was really friendly and attentive. The Bloody Mary was too thick for my taste, and she was happy to take it back and was quick to bring me a mug for coffee instead. I don't live in AZ, but I'll be back on my next annual visit! read more
