This First Watch location is right around the corner from our house, and as it just opened up we had to check it out. My mom and I frequent other First Watch locations around the Scottsdale area, but this location has to be best decorated one I've been in yet. As far as our experience, it was good and we will definitely be back. I will say it did take awhile for the waiter to come to our table. In doing so, it gave us enough time to place our order right away. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday around 12 noon, nearly every table was taken but we did not have to wait. I ordered the pork belly special, and it was good. Knowing what I know after eating this dish I would have ordered it with one egg instead of the two it came with. The consistency with two eggs left the farro to get a bit of a runny texture but it was flavorful and I'd get it again with a tweak of the egg. We received our food very quickly, which is always appreciated. Our waiter was friendly and attentive as soon as he did come to the table. Their iced coffee will always be one of my favorites! My biggest qualms with any First Watch is that they put calories on the menu, and I get it, but I really don't want to see it! However, it usually forces me to choose something healthier or not something sugary! Overall I would definitely recommend this First Watch! read more

We've witnessed the dominance demeanor when she speaks to the staff in always correcting them. Exhibiting her authority always! Often loud with no concern for anyone listening.... staff demeanor plummets! This is already a well-run managed First Watch with GREAT Staff where everyone supports each other! including the Managers currently in place. Great for a simple breakfast experience. If you want to have a relatively quiet time with music playing, it's not to loud, it's not too quiet. Having a table conversation is easy. The food so far is priced well, and is decent it taste. Presentation is really good. It's a fast in/out on a weekday if you get there by 8 AM. read more

First watch I love you seasonal menus. You've out done yourself once again with adding shrimp and grits. I was so excited to see it apart of the menu and got here as soon as I could to try it. You never disappoint. It was delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The cheesy grits were limp free (if you eat grits you know what I'm talking about) and I like the addition of the andouille sausage, sun dried tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. I've been to several First Watch locations and enjoyed them all. The atmosphere, decor, and staff are excellent. The menu is good, but I do think they try to hard. Their juices are expensive and just not that great, but overall, if you're looking for a good breakfast in a nice location with fantastic staff, First Watch doesn't disappoint. We decided to end our stay cation here after hearing good things overall about this place. Wait time was not bad at all for a Sunday early afternoon 10-15min. After running a rescue dog from Queen Creek to Shea my wife and I were famished. And First Watch is always a great place to deal with this problem. I love their Trifecta. You can't go wrong when you have their Carrot Cake Pancake topped with extra bacon, butter and lots of yummy syrup. It's desert, breakfast and more desert. Yippie! Dropped in on Saturday for Breakfast with my son, it is our go to place, first time at this location. I ordered the Healthy Turkey egg white omelet, my son Avocado toast. It was a bit slow out of the kitchen, waited over 30 minutes, it was not crowded, like most locations. My omelet was pretty good, a few mushrooms and onions. I finished and got the bill, it was then I realized....no turkey. I brought it the attention of our server, she did not offer any solution. I asked if the turkey was intended to be on the side, she said no. There were no tomatoes (they were on the side) in the omelet and no spinach either. (per menu) I paid and left, and now I write?????? I would imagine it might be a good choice however they must be having kitchen issues, with the delay and miss on the order. I use to really like first watch would get the breakfast skillet. More recently I was no impressed with the food as much or drinks with how it expensive it is I would rather have butters. The environment it nice I like the feel of the inside. Also the service was not bad and most locations but the last place I went too. I sat at the community table and service was not great. Even just to pay we waited there at least 10 minuets for her to come around. By the end we just got up and went to the host desk to pay. Terrible! read more

Best brunch EVER! Who knew First Watch had cocktails? Apparently only a few select locations have them but it was a treat! Our waitress, Annalise, checked on us within minutes of being seated with fresh coffee in hand. I ordered a vodka kale tonic and a veggie scramble. I *might* be a little high maintenance. You know, egg whites, dry toast, potatoes instead of fresh greens.....never straight off the menu. It was perfect! The manager also checked on us mid-meal to ensure we were enjoying our brunch. The omelettes are great, the breakfast potatoes are delicious, and I love their house jam. This location also has drinks and the Bloody Mary and Vodka Kale Tonic hit the spot on a hot AZ afternoon. Disappointing. I used to love First Watch and my favorite thing was the bacon cheddar pancakes. They are no longer on the menu. But they've made them for me after explaining that they used to be on the menu. The last few times, it's been getting more and more complicated. The last time I ordered them for takeout, the girl at the counter argued with me that they have never been on the menu and her manager has worked there for years and said so. I said maybe it's regional because I used to order these every weekend at the First Watch by my house in Ohio in 2016. I wasn't going to argue but was taken aback that she just insisted to me that I was wrong. This morning, I called to order my usual. Their takeout now runs through some sort of call center that dispatches your order to your local restaurant. Because the item isn't on the menu, the woman had to call the local store. She got back on the phone and told me this store wouldn't take my order over the phone. I would have to go in and place my order. I don't know about everyone else, but that seems inefficient and a waste of time. If I order take out, I call it in to avoid waiting. I've worked in restaurants for a one-third of my life and there are two things I know for sure: 1) Menus change and that means someone's favorite item can be taken off the menu. However, if we had the ingredients to still make it, we would make it for that customer 10/10 times to keep them coming back. And 2) Customer service is key! I'm sorry we have to break up, First Watch. It's not me, it's you. read more

Ever tried taking a family of 5 out to eat, actually enjoy yourself AND satisfy everyone's weird tastes...? First Watch for the win! The 14yo LOVED her steel cut oatmeal, the 11yo devoured the (huge!) chocolate chip pancake and the 7yo ate every bite of the perfectly done French toast! Dad loved his "The Works" omelet, and because we couldn't manage to get there until 11:30, I opted for lunch and had the super-fresh and delicious chicken avocado chop salad. I may have also indulged in the Morning Glory cocktail, which was fabulous! I didn't even know they had cocktails, but apparently this location is one of only a handful of First Watches that has them... winning! The decor is adorably country chic and my only regret is that I can't remember our server's name to give her a personal shout out. The manager, Jon, even came over to make sure we were enjoying our meal and personally refreshed our (non-alcoholic) drinks. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend! read more

Went here while on vacation and had a great time! The avocado toast and chia pudding was excellent and the drinks were refreshing. The best part of our experience was our waitress, Ashleigh. She was very kind and gave us good recommendations as non locals. She also was very polite and quick to fix something on our order for us when we were brought something my partner couldn't eat due to an allergy, and made us feel safe to eat our order. I didn't enjoy my experience at this First Watch which was surprising because I often frequent First Watch in Tucson and I thought the quality service would remain while I vacationed in Scottsdale, however, that was not the case. My waitress was rude to my party, and asked us to repeat our drink orders 3 separate times. Our waitress was short with us, and did not ensure a quality experience. Our food nonetheless was delicious, however it was not a favorable experience due to poor service, which in return created a uncomfortable dining atmosphere. read more
