    Salmon

Food: My salmon dish was absolutely delicious! I love capers on almost anything. Service: the service was low grade at best. We couldn't get her to come back to the table after bringing our food, we had a miscommunication about the bottled water they carried and she was adamant that she told me, I just said ok. I even tried to ask someone else for help and they pointed to her and she stopped at 2 tables before coming back to ours after we had been waiting for her to stop back by. I still left a tip but it was not validated. Ambiance: a lot of older folks and families, it was my friend and I and with a toddler. Overall: maybe another location would be better for me, won't stop at this one again.

Had lunch with a friend. Abby was our server. We shared oyster nachos and underwhelmed, 6 chips with a little oyster on it and covered with pico - not my idea of nachos oyster cooked good. Tried the clam chowder too same as nachos just okay would not rush back. Cute decor though out.

I decided to get the double smash burger and it was great. Double meat and bacon. Had to try it since I saw a few others enjoying. Calamari is our normal starter and the bar service is great. Joel and team are great. Monthly specials are always a good variety. Tables and booth seating in dining area.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Blackened salmon was soooo good and the service was top notch!

Fish City Grill has some of the freshest oysters I've had! Their happy hour special is so great with tasty margaritas and good appetizers. I got the sampler, which included the calamari, crab queso, and fried pickles. The calamari was nice and crispy. The crab queso was very cheesy and yummy. The fried pickles were surprisingly very good as well. I recommend coming for oysters! The service was very fast. It's a great place to go with your family or even with some co workers during their happy hour! I loved the vibes and food here!

    Crawfish and fish and chips!

Recently I had the worst crawfish ever at another restaurant. I stopped by chance and had their fish and chips which were superb. The fries were crisp and hot and the fish was 3 large pieces. I then noticed crawfish on the menu. Taking another chance i ordered a pound. Folks! These were the tastiest freshest boil I've had in dallas. Unlike the restaurant where they tasted like poop these were large, clean and very tasty. Didn't just dump a pile of seasoning on top, but infused the seasoning in the boil. My server, Curtis could not have been more attentive. Whether drink refill, fetching cocktail sauce, or delivering the good piping hot he was beyond reproach. This was a wonderful lunch. Highly recommend it!

First up, the pirogies--holy moly, these little pockets of joy were just unreal. Perfectly soft, stuffed to the brim, and fried up just right. I'm pretty sure if my tasted these, she'd give a polite nod and say, "Not bad, eh?" Then came the pot roast poutine, and let me tell ya--this isn't just food, it's a life experience. You've got those crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds (as they should be, eh!), and gravy so rich it could probably pay rent in Toronto. And then--BAM--tender pot roast on top. I nearly stood up and sang "O Canada," no joke. Now the Canadian Eggs Benedict? Ohhh, beauty. The peameal bacon was thick, juicy, and cooked just right, sittin' pretty under those poached eggs with hollandaise sauce that was smoother than a fresh sheet of ice. Absolute perfection, eh. And don't even get me started on the everyday breakfast. Classic, hearty, and no funny business--just how we like it. Eggs done right, toast that actually tastes like toast (imagine that!), and portions big enough to fuel ya through a full day of shovelin' snow... or, you know, strolling around Dallas. All in all, Maple Leaf Diner absolutely crushed it. Let me tell ya, the service was so fast and smooth, I thought I was dreaming eh. Great food, friendly vibes, and enough Canadian charm to make ya wanna say "sorry" when someone else bumps into you. 10/10, would recommend--now pass the syrup, eh?

Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

The layout feels open and comfortable, and the overall vibe is upbeat without being overwhelming. That said, service on arrival could use some attention. There was a noticeable gap at the host stand with several guests waiting and no staff in sight, which set a slightly off first impression. Once seated, though, the experience improved. Ally at the bar stood out right away. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, she helped turn the visit around and made the experience feel more personal. She did come back to check in later, which was appreciated and helped round out the service. On the food and drink side, they carry Manhattan Project Beer Company's Half-Life, which is a big win and pairs exceptionally well with the French dip. The sandwich itself is flavorful and satisfying. The fries were a bit on the softer side, so if you prefer them crispy, I'd definitely recommend asking for them extra crispy when ordering. Overall, Thirsty Lion has a lot going for it. Great atmosphere, solid menu, and standout staff like Ally. With a little more consistency at the front of house, this place easily moves from good to great.

It's definitely different than sitting in the bar section in very small tables and booths next to the bar. I would never choose to sit in the tables in the bar area. Unfortunately, as our luck would have it, whenever we select the standard seating, we tend to be sat in the small bar tables. This time I asked them to move us. They accommodated us (there were two large booths available in the main area), but the attitude was not great in doing so. The bar seating issue is enough to make me think about whether I want to go there again. Our server, Madison, was great. She was helpful, friendly, communicated well, and let us set the pace. Started with cocktails, which was an interesting experience, because the bar had some difficulties and so each of four drinks was brought out one at a time with a few minutes in between each. Not a huge deal but weird. Enjoyed a couple of wedge salads, which were nice. For entrées, one couple shared the flat iron steak, which they both enjoyed.
