You have to wait a little bit for your meal, but it's well worth the wait, and there are unique appetizers to help you make it through that short period. The food is really good, and there seems to be a friendly following of regulars that come here often. We have gone to Fish City Grill for dine-in and take you for many years. We have experienced decent food and service - until YESTERDAY, Thursday, Oct. 14, at about 3:15 PM. We were doing a take out order. The female bar attendant greeted me and said she was busy making drinks and the waiter (she pointed to him at the end of the bar) would take my order. He took a long, disagreeable look at me and walked back to the kitchen with dirty plates. A few minutes later, he took another load of dirty plates to the kitchen without acknowledging me. He remained in the kitchen for a long time. Then, he returned to the bar area and talked to the bar attendant without looking at me. I cleared my throat to get his attention. He asked if I needed anything. I said I wanted a take out order. He placed the order. An elderly couple arrived. From behind the bar, the waiter pointed to the booths without asking them anything and without giving them a menu. They sat in the booth the entire time I was there without any wait staff approaching them. There were 3 or 4 male and female wait staff walking around and talking to each other. In the restaurant there was only the senior couple and two gentlemen using their laptops having drinks. There were a few customers outside on the patio. I saw my order piling up under the heat lamps with no one attending to it and sat there for minutes while the wait staff walked around. Finally, the bar attendant came up to me and asked if I could be helped. I said in a loud voice that I was waiting for my order which was ready under the heat lamps. The waiter who took my order said in a loud, rude, condescending voice that "I'm getting it!" We will NEVER go to Fish City Grill again. The staff on duty yesterday afternoon should either be fired or given weeks of customer service training. To top off the experience, the Pecan Trout was NOT cooked properly. read more

This review is all about the service. I didn't get to try the food. I walked in with my brother and stood there feeling like a couple of fools. The staff didn't even greet us with a " hi" or " be there in a minute. " We were waiting for a long time while they were wiping tables. The woman working did not say anything but gave us a look with attitude that said "I'll get to you when I feel like it". The center of the dining room was completely empty and there were only three couples in the booths on the edge. It wasn't even like they were busy. I'm easy going and not picky at all but this was ridiculous. Sorry, but not so sorry. There was even a young guy that came in our direction, walked right passed us to talk to a friend. I mean it, NO one acknowledged us at all. Even if it's busy , I'm understanding. I worked at a seafood restaurant before. I have compassion for servers. We will be spending our money at Pacific Star in Round Rock. You should also try the Crawfish Oyster Shack in Cedar Park. The prices at right and the flavors are on point- super fresh too. read more

So this review covers the two visits. I meant to write the first one a couple months ago. Had another great experience tonight I need to follow up. First of all I have always enjoyed coming here. I had the good fortune of having Isaiah be our waiter for our last visit and was our bartender for this visit. He is very attentive as soon as our drinks were getting low he was there to check on us. When asking for food recommendations he did not hesitate to explain the best dishes. He has been spot on every time. Having to sit at the bar to eat at watch him work was encouraging. Food has always been good. Had the lobster and shrimp grilled cheese, awesome. The queso was also outstanding. We used to love going out to eat but seems like the restaurant help is nowhere it used to be. Fish City Grill sits head and shoulders above any other restaurants in nearby towns. I know they will be around for a long time to come. I can not say about 80% of the other restaurants nearby. Thank you Isaiah for your professionalism! read more

We tried this place out after reading the reviews. The char-broiled oysters were absolutely delicious. The crab and was good. I was pleasantly surprised that it was being made in house and not frozen, yay!! We also ordered the Cobb salad, it was delicious. We ordered the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder and it was meh. Something was really mushy, I'm going to guess it was the fish, it just didn't taste right at all. The waiter said it was a popular dish, maybe because it was close to closing, ours wasn't prepared properly. This rating is really a 3.5, but I gave the benefit of the doubt because the food was good. We arrived around 7 pm so the restaurant was a bit crowded but no wait. We were seated in a booth near the door but it took 10 minutes for us to get water. We actually flagged down a server walking by and asked him to find our server as we were about to leave. Service was slow. We didn't get asked if we wanted more water until we were about to leave although glasses were empty. Our server was not on her game for sure. The food was ok. They cooked my fried oysters perfectly. The gumbo was even ok for a restaurant. We had dined here before in the Dallas area and the food was consistent with what we remembered. Great little seafood spot in georgetown! The salads were huge and had tons of toppings. There were so many options and very friendly staff. Our first visit today and we were thoroughly impressed. Felt welcomed at this restaurant, and the whole staff was very friendly and professional. We've been looking for great seafood since we moved here two years ago from the gulf coast and I can't tell you how pleased we were to find this restaurant. The food was great and the restaurant was very clean. We both got the seafood gumbo and it was terrific. I got grilled shrimp, coleslaw, and mixed vegetables, and they were all prepared perfectly .
