Would've ordered another drink but bartender handed me my bill and never asked if I was ready. Will try the food and let you know. I got the Quinn salad and it was really good. First of all, I've been here three times and the service is always great. The food, is subpar in my opinion. We've always gotten appetizers and an entrée and none of it was great. I recently got fried pickles that were run-of-the-mill and greasy. I also got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was overcooked. The grits were tasty, but it was all sitting in a bath of broth that made the entire dish soupy. I don't know. I know people love this place. I just don't understand why. Traveling home looking for a place to eat not far from the route and came across this fabulous place. First time here and totally amazing. I had the seafood platter and my Wife had the pick two combo. The food was over the top. I couldn't find a single thing that would improve the experience. They have outdoor seating available and the building is all new ,clean,and classy. If you are in the mood to wait a long time for a table but have some really great food in a loud atmosphere- this is the place for you. We put our name in the list and did a few errands came back just in time for the table ( just over an hour) Because we were first time guest They gave us a sampler platter of the four different kinds of soup they have, and some shrimp cocktail to try. I don't know the names of all of the soups, but the lobster bisque is super rich and outstanding, I believe the brown one is gumbo and same thing, super super dark rich flavor-yummy! I got a house salad to start which had candied pecans, blue cheese, red onions, and a beautiful mix of greens tossed in vinaigrette dressing. For the entrées, we ordered Herb Crusted Cod Oscar and the Fish and Chips. Cod Oscar was sitting on a bed of rice with hollandaise sauce, and topped with small amount of crab meat and asparagus. The breading was flavorful and light and the fish was cooked beautifully. It was super moist and flaky. And the hollandaise sauce and crab complemented it extremely well. The fish and chips, round one, came out very lukewarm, but the management was very apologetic and quick to replace it with a hot fresh order. Round two fish and chips came out super hot and fresh The fish was cooked perfectly and was very flaky and moist. The batter was seasoned well and different than any other batter I've had in fish and chips. It was kind of a fried bread-ish texture. Not crispy or crunchy, kind of on the softer side. It was good with great flavor, but not my preference for batter. The fries were cooked great with a good seasoning on them. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be back and try some of the other amazing things on their menu. Service was wonderful, very attentive and food came out pretty quick. My husband and I tried this restaurant earlier this week and were so disappointed in the food. We ordered the beer battered fish and chips. I ordered the herb roasted potatoes instead of the fries. The fish had no flavor and tasted blah. My roasted potatoes were dry and didn't have much seasoning. My husband's fries came to the table cold. This was before it started getting busy. I was in Waco on business for the week, and just so happened, this was my week of fasting from meat. I searched for the best seafood restaurant in Waco, and this spot kept coming up across multiple sites. I decided to try it. In fact, I had dinner three of the four nights I was in town. Here's how it went... First night, 5 stars! I was given a sampler plate with four soups to try and one oyster nacho. VERY NICE!!! I was thoroughly impressed. Everything was delicious! I ordered the seafood platter, all fried, and it was delicious! The shrimp were big and plump, fried perfectly. Same for the oysters. The catfish was delicious. It was a lot of food! It's easily shareable. Night #2.... At the bartenders recommendation, I tried the Salmon Burger. It was on the board as the special for the night. It was just okay. I wish I had gone with my first mind and ordered the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Scallops. The Salmon Burger was just okay. Not much flavor. Night #3.... I felt like I was at a totally different restaurant. The service was slow. The food was subpar at best. I decided to stick with the seafood plate because it had brought me great joy on Night #1. I also ordered a cup of Bisque. Well... The bisque came out at room temperature. Not good. I asked if it could be warmed up a bit. It came back at hell-degrees, but that was better than luke warm. This is where I almost decided to go to the Wine Bar next door... My seafood platter came out, and the shrimp were not at all the same as before, and the oysters were fried so hard they didn't even taste like oysters. It was not good at all. To top it off, the server that brought my food out was a bit snappy when I asked for additional cocktail sauce. The bartender was having a slight meltdown because the Margafita machine had frozen and wasn't working, and that just kind of sealed the night for me. From the appetizers to the main course, it was clear that great care had been taken to ensure not only the taste but also the aesthetics were on point. My wife had the salmon and I ordered the seafood platter along with appetizers (usual stiff calamari etc..). Not to take away from the food but cherry on top of our visit was the selection of alcoholic beverages. We tried a couple of cocktails, and each was impeccably mixed (don't get too carried away because the bartender does righteous pours lol, you'll end up needing an uber) and fairly priced. Very small portions . We came to the Waco location because we loved the Georgetown location and their large portions. Ordered one entree because last time in Georgetown we had a lot of leftovers and thought bees have the same experience. Not at all. Shout came in a huge saucer bowel with a small area in middle which probably equaled a cup of soup instead of the big bowel we got at the other location . Very very disappointed.
