They start you off with a glass of complimentary champagne which was light, crispy and special to toast off whatever special occasion you are celebrating or just a special night dinner with a friend or a loved one. It was a 14 course meal for $250 per person with drinks not included though service charge will be automatically included in the bill. Each dish of the 14 courses is prepared with superb attention to detail and chefs' passion and love for sushi. The chefs also take the time to explain origin of the main ingredients used in preparation of the dishes and how some are prepared. I have uploaded photos to share a fragment of perfection from the evening. Great job and heart felt thanks to chef Sunny, chef Tina, managers Sam, and Fernando for going all out accommodating us for an amazing omakase experience! I strongly recommend everyone to try Oku by Takato for an omakase experience and by the end of the experience you won't regret any bit of the $250 per person. The experience will have been worth it!

That said, being from NJ surrounded by great Asian food, this place definitely lived up to the expectation. The crispy spicy tuna was probably one of the best I've ever had. Angry chicken was also delicious with great flavor. The shrimp fried rice, not pictured, was good and had chunks of shrimp. We would probably skip the beef bulgogi if we came back. Flavor was good but meat wasn't very tender. Service was okay. Overall, good experience. If we came back it would definitely be for happy hour.

Our waiter checked in on how we were liking our meal and even turned a hot latte into iced without any problem. The outdoor patio is beautiful as it overlooks the beach right across the street. We went for breakfast which has a small but amazing menu. As a vegan myself I had to order off the "sides" portion of the menu and I ordered an English muffin and a sliced avocado - very affordable ($5 total). I also ordered the fruit platter ($10) which came with an array of yummy fruits including pear, melons, pineapple, oranges, grapes and strawberries. There was more than enough for our table of three! My daughter had the pancakes which came with a warmed jam, syrup, and whipped cream. She said they were very fluffy. My husband had the chaffles which are croissants pressed in a waffle maker. They came with the same sides as the pancakes. And again he said they were so light and fluffy. We rounded off our meal with iced lattes - mine made with oat milk - and they were outstanding. I usually do not like iced drinks but the weather called for it and I was not disappointed! Overall Takato's breakfast is A+ and the view takes it over the edge of greatness! I hope you get a chance to enjoy it as much as we did! We returned to Takato for dinner and what an amazing meal we had. My one warning is to ask about portion size as many dishes are worthy of sharing size. We ordered an array of food. My son loved the kimchi short rib tacos (2 to an order). My daughter had the duck bao and California roll - both received two thumbs up! My husband had the wagyu sliders which he thought were an appetizer but ended up being a good sized meal served with french fries. He said the burger roll was a bit dry and could have used a sauce. The fries received rave reviews. We also had the mushroom gyoza (5 to an order) and these were delicious. I had the Takato salad without cheese and it did not disappoint. It came in a big bowl with crispy tofu. And I also enjoyed the vegetable sushi which provided a light fragrant taste with a crunchy texture. Takato hits the mark on all fronts and will definitely be a place to which we return whenever we come to Ft. Lauderdale!

I asked the server how long they have been open and he said 8 months but I see Yelp pics and reviews dating back at least 3 years. Someone must have told him the wrong information but no matter, we are just glad we finally found it. We went with the classic Shoyu Ramen with nishu beef and black garlic. I was over the moon when they touted a 12 hour chicken broth soup base. Every ramen shop I have tried to get ramen from has a pork based broth which I do not eat. I'm finally able to have ramen and boy it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly al dente and had a satisfying chew with every bite. The broth was so flavorful with the bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and all the slow cooked fats and oil from the chicken broth and the nishu beef, which was tender, thinly sliced rib-eye meat, I suspect. All this topped off with a perfectly cooked soy marinated egg. What an amazing flavor combination. The takoyaki appetizer was also delicious. Biting into the crispy exterior, you are then met with a soft and tender interior filled with chunks of octopus. The balls sat atop Japanese mayo and was drizzled with delicious takoyaki sauce. All it was missing was the katsuobushi which would have elevated the takoyaki flavor. We also ordered the Mala Shrimp which was on the Chinese menu and did not come with rice. That had to be ordered separately. Food came out quick as we were the only patrons apart from another table outside and service was good until a large party sauntered in and the server became inundated with requests. All in all, we will definitely be back to try out other menu items.

Our reservation was for 9:30 and we seated with drinks and appetizer ordered by 9:35pm. For an appetizer we ordered the original Bronx pizza, I heard the pizza was amazing so figured order for an appetizer so I could also enjoy a meal. The pizza was delicious. I forgot to get a picture of it. We then ordered the gnocchi Marsala, pasta with Bolognese, my son who has been to Heritage before got his favorite the spicy penne alla vodka. We made sure to save room for dessert we got Cake me home tonight (carrot cake) it was served warm with vanilla ice cream. This carrot cake was on a different level than any other carrot cake I have tried. We also got the tiramisu brownie- a combination that will make your taste buds dance. It is a small restaurant but we did not feel crowded at all as others have mentioned in reviews. The waiters and bartenders were all amazing and seem to keep this place running like clockwork. Try it you will not be disappointed. Almost forgot get an espresso martini may be the best in Ft Lauderdale. Plenty of parking available as well.

The dim, cozy atmosphere stood out and our server, Shamar truly made our experience super special. He was so kind, attentive and patient. The owner also stopped by and introduced himself, which was a nice touch to our night. We ordered the Italian chopped salad, Mediterranean squash blossom pizza, and gnocchi marsala. Italian food isn't usually my go to, but everything was delicious! Of course we saved the best for last and ended the night with the Cake Me Home Tonight, which is their carrot cake, and it really hit the spot! I highly recommend this spot! Just a side note, parking is limited and it's a small restaurant, so definitely make a reservation.

Parking was conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, making it an easy stop. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and invited to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table near the window and immediately appreciated the intimate and charming atmosphere. The restaurant also features a bar and televisions, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.
