Fish & Chips - Crispy Beer-Battered Local Rock Cod Served with Housemade Tartar Sauce and Wedge Fries
    Mike L.

I know I've said it a lot in my reviews, but I genuinely mean it when I say this place has been in my list of bookmarks for YEARS. Ever since I first heard about Fish oh so long ago, I'd been wanting to try them, but just never had much of a reason to come here. Other than to, you know, eat here. However, I had so much faith, in fact, that I even recommended this place to my buddy before I even made my way here. Thankfully, they didn't let me down, as both he and his wife loved the food here! More importantly, now that I've been, so do we! Although it takes a little bit of work to find them (they're on Bridgeway, but away from the touristy part and set back in a marina), Fish is well worth the effort. Not only is the vibe cozy and relaxed, but they've got a ton of seating both inside and out (love sitting by the water!). And, of course, the menu is awesome, as it's filled with so many options, from chowders, raw oysters, and salads to seafood entrees, pastas, and, of course, fish & chips. Plus, they also have menu boards highlighting the day's selection of raw oysters, crab, fresh fish, special entrees, "fish bits", and desserts that are just as interesting and unique! -- WHITE CHOWDER - Traditional New England Clam Chowder with Surf Clams, Cream, Bacon, Potatoes, Onion, Celery, White Wine, and Dried Herbs This was terrific! Although it could've been slightly thicker/chunkier, I liked the consistency of this - smooth but with chunks of potatoes. I also really liked how tender and meaty the clam was, too! -- RAW OYSTERS - Shigoku Oysters (WA) I had never even heard of Shigoku oysters before these, but they were terrific! The oysters were about medium sized with deep shells, which made them super to eat and I liked how they had a bit of sweetness and a bright finish to them. -- WHOLE ROASTED DUNGENESS CRAB with Tomato Sugo Drawn From Roasted Crab Shells over Soft Polenta I don't often order whole crabs like this at restaurants, but this was undeniably tasty. Aside from how messy this was to eat, the crab was sweet, the legs were pretty meaty, and I really liked how the sugo helped reinforce the taste of crab with the polenta. -- PASTA CON VONGOLE - Clams Served over Fresh Housemade Organic Egg and Semolina Linguine with Olive Oil, Butter, White Wine, Garlic, and Red Chili Flake LOVED that they didn't skimp on the clams, which were all so good, as well as the sauce and how it had a slight kick to it. The pasta had a very bouncy bite, too, but I wish there had been more of it and that it was able to hold onto the sauce better. -- FISH & CHIPS - Crispy Beer-Battered Local Rock Cod Served with Housemade Tartar Sauce and Wedge Fries Maybe my hopes/expectations were too high, as this was more decent than amazing. Mainly, while the batter was crispy-ish on the outside, it was a bit mushy on the inside. Still, the cod itself was pretty good and I liked the fries - crisp and not too potato-y. -- GRILLED CALIFORNIA HAMACHI with Housemade Pasta, Shishito Pepper-Cilantro Pesto, and Parmesan I'm so glad we pivoted to this when we saw it on the board - it was so good! The piece of hamachi was sizable, moist, and flavorful while the pasta was just as bouncy and held onto the sauce. If only they didn't use cilantro in their pesto (blech). Despite how Fish's food didn't amaze like how I had hoped it would, I think that has a lot more to do with the high hopes (expectations?) that had built up from the anticipation of finally coming here than anything else. Really, the only thing that might have been an actual bummer was the Fish & Chips, but even then, it was still notably better than others I've had. Besides, it's not like there's a shortage of delicious to pivot to instead! Fish, you'll definitely be seeing me again!

A solid seafood eatery with waterfront outdoor seating. Quite casual really but fresh seafood. You get in the long line, order d at the counter and find a table that's how it work. Food take a bit longer to arrive, but perhaps they were busy. Either way it's a solid, great view, good food and service eatery to grab a bite without having to drive to the coast like Marshall or Bodega.

The white clam chowder was amazing and was my favorite part of the meal. The soft shell crab bao tacos were a miss tho just tasted really weird and for the price it was pretty steep. The fish and chips were ok, in particular the fish just wasn't battered to my liking.

A popular spot! It operates like a fast casual restaurant but it's located on the water and served up great food. I had fish tacos and they were delicious, but the platter is small. If you're hungry, I'd add an appetizer or a salad. My daughter had a burger and it had a nice charred taste and came with insanely good fries. My son had the kids pasta, which was buttered noodles, and he enjoyed it. It's nice and laid back-- a nice break from fast pace of SF across the bridge.

Perfect for outdoor seaside dining. You order at the counter then a server brings you the food. It can get busy for lunch so expect to wait in line to order. They have high chairs for little ones which is a plus. The food was tasty but pretty salty even for seafood. The bao tacos were okay but were more crunch than meat. The fish sticks were huge and filled! No excess gaps and of air and breading. Probably the best thing we got. Overall, would come again.

A great way to wind down! Fish has great outdoor seating overlooking the marina. The service and food is extremely quick and everything tasted fresh. I especially enjoyed our assortment of oysters.

So good we came back twice over Mother's Day weekend On Friday the wait was 15 minutes, and the food came out quickly. We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

Great seafood, beautiful views, and incredibly fresh ingredients made for a wonderful dining experience. The service was amazing, and the ordering process was simple--just pay first and then enjoy your meal. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the visit. If you're a seafood lover, you must try a dozen oysters--they were fresh, delicious, and absolutely worth ordering. We will definitely be coming back again. We enjoyed: * Saigon Salmon Sandwich * Soft Shell Bao Tacos * 1 Dozen Oysters Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Between the fresh seafood, relaxing waterfront views, and friendly service, this was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Early Sunday dinner temperature 75 degrees with a light breeze....just perfect. 5 minute wait to order but line got to maybe 20 min by the time we sat down. Located just 5 min over the Golden Gate Bridge this place always feels like a Staycation meal for me. Tonight it felt like Hawaii. Started with some oysters and poke and I had the soft shell crab bao tacos. Not a fine dining restaurant but the casual ambiance is always top notch.

This is definitely one of the more popular lunch spots in Sausalito, so expect a line -- especially on a sunny weekend. Very casual setup -- you order at the counter first and then find your own seating. Thankfully there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so finding a table wasn't difficult despite the crowd. They have a standard printed menu along with a pretty extensive list of daily specials. I ordered the squid (one of the fish specials that day) over a Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. Everyone in my group seemed happy with their entrees too. We also ordered an assortment of oysters to share. One note was that the waitress dropped them off did so abruptly without explaining which oysters were which. Overall, the food itself probably won't completely blow you away, but if you're looking for solid seafood with a great ambiance in Sausalito, this is still one of the better options around.

Pretty long line but we took that as a good sign! Oysters were very fresh and good. We got 5 of each type (3 types). The rockfish chorizo style tacos were very good and seasoned well. Only thing disappointing was the "shoe string fries" which were not shoe string and also tasted kind of stale/not fresh. Service was quick and good as well.

The fish and chips were so good! Crispy and fresh fish with tasty potato wedges. We picked some up for take out since the line was really long. Plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful view. Service was friendly and quick

I have been meaning to update my review. Fish is delicious. Pick something from their daily fresh menu. Our recent visit was exceptional. My only gripe if there is one is that when paying with a credit card, the lowest option to add tip is 25%. The food is pricey because it's fresh and you can honestly taste how good it is. So maybe the tip could go to checking in to see if people need more water or an extra plate to share food or to clear tables near you so the birds aren't hovering. That would be five stars.

Softshell Crab bao! Fantastic and highly recommend

Nope. You sit outside on a patio.

    Is this restaurant pet-friendly?

    Yes.

Is there a parking lot? If not, how difficult is parking?

Yes, there is a parking lot right outside the restaurant.

Is it still cash or check only?

    Credit/debit accepted

    Is it pet friendly?

yes, it has a lot of outdoor seating that is pet friendly for sure.

Is there dock space for people who want to boat over there?

    Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

    Yes

    Do they have umbrellas outside?

I’ve not seen many umbrellas, if any. There are two or three tables inside that work of shade is required. Also, late afternoons as the sun sets in the west, the building casts a shadow on part of the outdoor space.

    Are there any Vegan options?

Not really - there's a boring green salad - I'm guessing you could veganize another salad too. Then there's guac & chips, delicious French fries. Additionally they might have a veggie side of the day that's vegan but I wouldn't choose it as a place…

    Do they have lobster?

Unless its a non menu daily special...nope.

Can anyone tell me what the wait is like on a Saturday at 6:30pm?

I was bewildered, having passed that shop weekly for five years without ever stepping inside. That initial bite into an authentic Chicago dog was burned directly into my memory, locking those exact textures into my palate forever. Ever since, I am always down for a Chicago dog. Fast forward 30-plus years to a Friday stroll through Hayes Valley. I had already grabbed a quick bite around the corner, but I wanted more. I popped into Hazy Dog to order The Fluky. The husband and wife team running the show deserve a massive hug for the warmth, pride, and love they pour into their food and their patrons. With my hot order in hand, I grabbed a seat at the parklet to continue my culinary journey. The Fluky hit so deep that middle school memories came flooding back. The crisp snap of the all-beef dog, the bright acid of fresh tomatoes and yellow mustard, the tart pucker of sport peppers, and that iconic neon relish was total perfection. It was an electric time machine in a poppy seed bun, cranking out a high-decibel mix tape of pure nostalgia. So, so GEWD! Completely satiated, I sat back in the parklet and calmly admired the world moving around me as the sun dipped below the horizon.
