Our first seafood boil in the Badger state and boy was it tasty and hearty! Come hungry for sure because their menu is all you can eat. They are famous for their cod fish boil but we ordered their ayce (all you can eat) combo of buttery boiled cod, honey bbq chicken and bbq ribs. The meal comes with coleslaw, boiled potatoes, onions and rye bread. The meal is finished off with an apple strudel dessert which we had no room for because we were stuffed! Drinks are purchased a la carte. We visited in February 2023 but I'm sure this place is bustling during the warmer months. Regardless of when you visit, the food and good service will have you visiting year-round. Definitely worth it if you are in the Genoa City/Lake Geneva area.

When my sister mentiones having dinner here. I said ok but not really excited because Im not a fish person. I was sooo wronv and im glad we came here. This is an all you can eat place. Menu has COD Chicken and Ribs. Some sides potato, onion, coleslaw. Bread and butter and Cherry Pie for dessert. Not sure if the dessert changes. You have a choice if you want fish only or with chicken or all three. We did all three for $21. It was so good. It this is saying a lot because im not a fish or ribs person. But i would definitely go back. They pour butter over the cod. Cooked perfectly the chicken and ribs are tender and seasoned perfectly. Parking is not an issue. And be warned this is a CASH ONLY place. There is an ATM inside the restaurant itself. MUST TRY!

Set in a historic building in a small town just two blocks north of the State Line, Fitzgerald's provides a dining experience that's pure Wisconsin tradition. It's a perfect cap to a day spent in nearby Lake Geneva. Though the restaurant opened in 1990, it has the aura of an eatery that's been around much longer. Hours/days of operation are limited and the menu - which never varies - offers just 3 entrees, 2 sides, and 1 dessert. A small bar provides the "right" Wisconsin lubricants (Spotted Cow, anyone?). You prepay your meal as you enter and a server fills your plate at the buffet. Seconds? Of course! The place is crazy-busy on summer weekends, but an outdoor patio and a quaint upstairs room provide additional seating. True, they do things a bit differently here than we city folks are accustomed to. Don't expect a server to clear away empty plates - get up and do it yourself. And they don't take credit cards (a bank ATM stands incongruously in the waiting area). Drenched in melted butter (optional), the boiled cod really does taste like lobster. "Nearer my cod to thee." We've indulged in many fish boils in Door County, where whitefish (unlike cod, served with skin and bones) is typically used. Fitzgerald's may not be as iconic as, say, the White Gull Inn, but it's pretty darn good and less than 90 minutes from home.

The flavor of my dinner was definitely homemade and something very special not your average Italian. Paisano's on Broadway occupies a unique--and important--place in Richmond's dining landscape…read more Credit where it's due: Phil and Karen Gilardi were instrumental in elevating the town beyond pure fast-food dependence. They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.

Arrived at our hotel and was already thinking about what to get for dinner on this chilly winter…read moreevening. Been craving ramen, but thought there was no way I would find anything in Lake Geneva. Of course, first checked Yelp and found Zaab Corner Bistro, which was a short drive away. I got there early and my family ordered ramen and pork tonkatsu. I was skeptical at first - how could this place so far away from any major city be able to provide a hearty Japanese meal? Boy, was I wrong about this place as the dishes were outstanding. The tonkatsu ramen was deep in flavor as well as clean and light in a surprising pleasant way. The chasu was slightly charred and added a flavor and meatiness to the dish. My partner and I both shared we typically don't finish ramen because it can be salty, oily and too strong in flavor, especially at the end. Eating here, my partner and I were able to finish our bowls clean! They were so good. The tonkatsu was fried so well (they know how to fry dishes, which is an underrated skill as it had just the right crunch without the oiliness) and seasoned perfectly. The sauce has some Japanese curry in it with a touch of sweetness that made eating the delicious dish easy. It was so good our kid asked for a second serving, which we finished! The service was excellent, and we did not wait long at all for our food. If we are ever back in Lake Geneva, I'll come back for sure.
