Awesome food and good value. They dump extra fries in your bag and keep it simple. The atmosphere is little loud. Place is packed plus loud music is only reason for 4 stars. Also they seem to encourage people to throw or it shells in the ground. This is probably not the place for people with peanut allergies. read more

The ambiance was nice compared to my only other 5 guys experience in Oxnard. Clean, open store. Thought the peanuts were a fun touch. Staff was very friendly and food was ready promptly. Downside: way too expensive for the food quality. The sandwich was as disappointing as the other location soggy, chewy bread. Shake was ok. Son dragged me in both times. He enjoyed his burger but he enjoys most burgers. If in Arroyo area you will be happier at In and Out. Better food for less than half the cost. read more

I am a ordinary eater of 5 Guys due to one being very close to my house in my hometown. I am currently on a road trip through California and I saw there was a 5 Guys in the area and I decided to go to the Arroyo Grande 5 Guys. I called about 15 minutes after they opened to place a pick up order for a little cheeseburger with just a few toppings and the man taking my order didn't give me an eta so i just assumed it would be ready by the time I got there. It took me 15 minutes to get to the Arroyo Grande 5 Guys after I called in my order so I assumed it would be ready or almost ready by the time I got there. I walked in and there was one man in front of me in line and only two others waiting inside the restaurant. I said I placed a call in order and I payed for my burger then the man at the register said, "your burger isn't ready yet we'll call your name when it's ready." I then just stood by one of the tables and only thought it was going to be a minute or two due to me placing me order now almost 20 minutes ago. I was wrong. I waited 10 minutes just standing around waiting for the 4 workers that were there working to make a few burgers and my legs got tired of standing up for so long so I decided to sit down. While sitting down a worker came up to me and asked if I was waiting for a order for Adam and I said no I'm waiting for a order for Dell. It was like they didn't even know about my order or I was there waiting in the first place. Then I was seeing more and more people coming in to the restaurant and picking up burgers in front of me even though they ordered after me. The workers would say, "How are you doing today sir (or miss)?" before giving them their food and asked if they needed any condiments but when they finally called my name for my order after calling 15 minutes before and waiting for another 15 minutes inside the restaurant and when I got up to the counter the man bagging up my burger did not ask me how I was doing at all or if I needed any condiment he just said, "Order for Dell" and tossed the bag on the counter and walked back into the kitchen. I don't know if he was treating me this way due to my demographic being different from everyone else in the restaurant or if he was having a bad day but all I know is that this 5 Guys in Arroyo Grande made me not want to spend another penny at any 5 Guys for the rest of my life. As this location does not make their customers feel valued and are not efficient in the way they cook and make burgers compared to any other 5 Guys I've ever been to. These workers are not friendly and do not go out of their way to make sure their customers are treated fairly. If Jerry Murrell came to this location as an undercover boss he would be ashamed and shocked to say the least. Also, when I got my burger it was barely warm almost cold and the proportions of the toppings were just terrible. This 5 Guys needs to be avoided at all costs as it will ruin your 5 Guys experience. read more

The food was really good, but my son's burger was supposed to be lettuce wrapped as he's gluten free and they forgot our cups when we ordered. It was my family's first time to Five Guys and it was good overall. It probably won't be somewhere we go regularly mostly due to the price. read more

The hamburgers are pretty good. Not great but you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. I like the free peanuts as snacks while you wait for the order which comes out pretty fast. What I didn't like in my one visit there was the noise. Between the preparers banter, their calling out the orders very loudly, and the customers raising their voices trying to make conversation, I couldn't even hear my companion. read more

Really disappointing, heard good things from family out of state, but the burgers we ordered were dry and pretty tasteless. My cheeseburger with everything except pickle and onions had one piece of lettuce about 1 inch by 1/2 inch, and the mustard/ketchup/mayonnaise all ended up on the same half of the bun. The cheese was still cold, no melting on the patty. My husband had a cheeseburger with bacon plus raw onion, pickle and mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard.... still dry and chewy. The French fries were limp and overly salted. The young man at the counter was really good tho, explaining the menu for us, since it was our first visit. I might risk a second visit for the "kosher style" hot dog, but I'm not sure. read more

It would be sooo awesome if they could actually a to go order correct. This is my 3 to go order that is all wrong. As I placed the order in the store and left with my order, foolish me, I didn't check it... orders a jr bacon burger w the works in a lettuce wrap. What I got was a burger with cheese wrapped in lettuce. No bacon, no works and no condiments! Two others bacon cheese burgers did not receive bacon... this is my last time going to this franchise. So I went to five guys to see what all the hype was about. It did just get voted the best burger over in and out. So I went in expecting something great. So I go in and look at the menu, the first thing I notice is how expensive it is for a burger, and the price did not include fries or anything. Then I am told I have to build my own burger from the condiment list(somehow the condiments justify the high prices). So I build my burger, at this point I am not liking the way it works but whatever, if the food is good then its worth it. So we sit and wait 5- 10 min and get our food which we ordered to eat there but they don't care, they package it up anyway and tell you to just eat at a table if you want. So that was annoying as well. After we finally get to our burgers and unwrap then to see whos is whos, its finally time to try "the burger that beat in and out" so i dig in. First bite down. Cold bun. Flavorless meat, cold cheese, flavorless grilled onions. It is like a backyard bbq burger cooked by someone who doesn't know any better. The fries were brown and nasty. They were home made in a bad way! Even my 13 year old step son could barely finish his plain cheese burger. I think the vote for best burger went to the highest bidder! I will not be going back ever! You are seriously better off at ANY fast food chain. I hope 5 guys goes out of business here in AG, it would be a good location for one of those sushi burrito places. You have been warned! read more

Waaaay better burgers than In N out, unless you want to be a cheapskate. These hamburgers are worth the price & staff here is super pleasant. Never have had a problem with my orders. The front cashier has the worst attitude. Has the personality of a rock. No smile. Was a negative experience for sure. If and if I go back if she is working the register will not go again. Smaller Hispanic woman, very early 20's worked the register at 6:15. She needs to relocated to a different non customer service position. All other cashiers have been a great!!!! A letdown on so many levels. The cranked up head banger music and staff singing along (off key). So loud you and the cashier have to repeat everything when ordering. The view of grill staff's underwear and more hanging out of his jeans. The tasteless beef (In n Out patties so much better), with patties already sitting on the grill when we came in...how long? Smelly trash can. $30 for 2 burgers, 2 drinks, 1 fries. Choosing your own toppings is a plus but doesn't offset the negatives. read more

I just went to Five Guy's for the first time this week. I kept hearing the burgers are amazing. Well the staff was really nice and that's about it. If you are really into good burgers, look elsewhere. The friendly staff and decent fries are the only reason for 3 stars. Reminded me of an In-N-Out burger, which to me is not awesome. They do not offer avocado or other higher quality toppings, and the beef and bacon were almost flavorless (went 2X). A burger should have some greese for flavor and tast like it is cooked over a flame. Nice location in the remodeled Elm Street shopping center. Free peanuts while you wait. Small burger is a decent size - regular burger has double patties. A bit pricey for fast food. Newest Burger place in town, so had to give a try. Not disappointed! Our family (of 5) loved it. The offered "toppings" we're great (they even had fresh jalapeños!). The burgers are numbered, so it's easy to knows burger is who's. We got the large order of fries, which was plenty for the five of us. My family and I have been enjoying Five Guys for several years, so we were excited to have one open up in Arroyo near us. The burgers are fresh/high quality (buns are somewhat "gummy") and the fries can be awesome (as long as they are not soggy, undercooked, or oily which sometimes does happen). The new shakes are super high quality, but the size is very small for the price. Unfortunately, the AG store has the highest prices of any Five Guys we have visited. We often stop by the Five Guys in Morgan Hill and their prices are noticeably better. Even though the fries and shakes at In & Out stink, they do have decent burgers that are an exceptional value! Pricing really does need to be more competitive to make Five Guys a hit in AG. read more
