I was driving around Lakewood trying to figure out what I wanted to eat when I remembered my Mom (who lives in Pennsylvania) telling me that she had 5 Guys and that it was amazing. Lo and behold, there was one directly to my left! I have heard that this place rivals even In N Out, and I'm not surprised. I ordered a cheeseburger (single) with mayo, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled jalapenos. I got the cajun fries to go with it. The order of fires was massive; I couldn't finish all of them. Although they were pretty salty, the rich spice made up for it and I enjoyed what I could eat of them quite thoroughly. I demolished the burger, even despite how big it was. It was so juicy and hot and full of flavor. I actually think I liked this place better than In N Out. It was a little pricey (about $12 for burger, fries, and drink), but I think it was WELL worth it. I will definitely be coming back! read more

The first time ever going to a Five Guy's I was not impressed. The amount of grease dripping everywhere took away from the whole thing. I'm not really into food that swims in grease, but that was years ago and so I figured I would try it again at this new location instead of Cerritos. What a disappointment. The first time I went to this place I thought it was better that In N out maybe it's because I was starving that day and just gobbled up and hamburger and fries. My second time I must say I was very dissappointed, the meat was tasteless even though I added the stuff that I liked grilled mushroom, tomatoes. This place just opened. The food is great. The only downside is the annoying, obnoxious, immature staff that's making the food. Thankfully, everything is made in the open where they can be watched, otherwise I would've asked for a refund and left. And (bonus), there are tables outside where I enjoyed my burger away from the nonsense. So, if you don't mind the unnecessary noise of the staff, you'll enjoy your visit more than I did. This was my first time to a Five Guys restaurant and my last. Walked in to no line which was nice, but was greeted with an irritated look from the lady (Vanessa is what the receipt said her name was) taking my order who seemed to have no patience on explaining to me how the ordering worked (I have never customized a burger like they have their menu set up to do) and really rushed my whole order asking if that was all while I was looking at all the different items and toppings on their menu. The hamburgers are a little more expensive but they are incredible. An order of french fries feeds three people. There are Cajun fries too -- very delicious. There are also free peanuts. The soda machine does a large variety of soft drinks -- any flavor of Coke or Fanta and other beverages that you would like. Service is very friendly. read more

Amaze-balls! I like five guys way better than in n out. you can pick what you want on your burger, single patty, double patty, etc. The fries are amazing, you can get them seasoned or cajun. The servings on the fries are enough to share with a few people!! They give you so many, so many bag fries it's awesome!! Peanuts while you wait. People who work there are always nice. Food is good. Shake of chocolate was creamy smooth and ice cold. Fries are salty in which good for the flavor. Place looks clean. Tons of peanuts bags. Cheeseburger is delicious. They are located in front across from the target store aka the Lakewood mall. Few employees for the weekend, but it wasn't busy in which they made the orders be made right away and not having to wait for the meals. They have long operating hours of getting your meal from this location.. price is fairly reliable reasonable for the meals that my friend paid for.. 25 dollars for two cheeseburgers, with two chocolate shakes, and French fries. They do have other toppings to add on your burger, but I just got the same as my friend did as he treated me out of trying this food meat burgers kind of place. I would recommend them to other people who likes burgers to give it a go. I was craving more as I was hungry, but I didn't want to look bad and banked on my friend for my hunger for burgers. read more

I was running errands in the area, found myself hungry, and I decided to hop on in after seeing there were long waits at both Red Lobster and Marie Callendars. I am so glad that I finally tried this place, as I had been curious. The food was good, but not spectacular, and it's kind of pricy. For close to $8, I got a small burger and an order of fries, no drink. Luckily, the burger wasn't too small; but the small order of fries is like a large at other burger joints. Except for In-N-Out, the food here is far better than other fast food places. However, as another reviewer put it, the best burger is the one you make on your own bbq. So true. It's made to order, it's fresh, the burgers are neither over- nor undercooked, and the fries are long, stringy, and crisp, without being hard. Having been cooked in peanut oil, the fries have a slightly different taste than they do at other places. The burger, even though I loaded it with toppings, wasn't all that flavorful. It wasn't bad, but it's not something I'll find myself craving in the near future. Anyway, as I said before, I'm glad I finally had a chance to stop in and try this place, and I was not disappointed in the food. However, due to the price (you can get the same thing at In-N-Out for two or three bucks less), I likely won't be coming in often. read more

I gave five guys three stars only because the service was okay. I paid 35.00 dollars for three burgers, a large fry, and two large drinks....kinda steep in my opinion. My fiance and i wanted to try this place after rave reviews on YouTube. My burger was very bland, the bacon on it was burnt, my grilled onions were simply heated up, and the fries were so bland that i had to drown them in ketchup to eat them. Although it's a little more pricey than I'm used to I have to say the hamburgers were really delicious. It was nice to be able to order the extras (like mushrooms, chilies, and other condiments) without paying extra. They even offered to give me some of them on the side since I wasn't sure how my kids might like them. This location seriously shorts you on the fries. I thought the thing with Five Guys was the copious amount of fries they give you per serving. An employee at another location once told me that they add an extra scoop in the bag.. this place apparently an extra scoop is 3 fries. lame for the price, almost $6 for a large that was supposed to be split between two people. read more

Amazing burgers!!! I love the fact you are able to select from so many toppings and it amazes me how they can fit so much in a burger. Just to give you an idea, when I order a burger I get mayo, mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and relish. With all of these toppings crammed into the burger, I'm able to still taste everything. The burgers themselves are very well cooked and have a good flavor. The fries are great also, however beware that they will stuff your bag with a ton a fries. My wife and I order just one regular sized fries and it is more than enough for both of us to share. The pricing is also very good for what you get. As far as comparing it to In n Out, as this seems to the major theme between the two, I would say you can't really compare them fairly. You will either like one or the other more most likely due to your preference. Both places give awesome burgers, they are just different. I am a big fan of both places and always rotate between them. read more
