Ok i have been to Dave's hot chicken before. And I like the food. I think this location particularly needs to have atleast two people at the register and one giving out the orders. My order got mixed up because they put the wrong number on the food order. So I was waiting for a while. Before I had to ask for help on Why my food was taking so long. As I was waiting another employer walks in and takes over for the person who hands you the food. And the other employer went to the back to work on the food. I was going to stop by here again but saw that there was one person at the register again and a bunch of people waiting for there food. I didn't want to chance it so just went elsewhere. That's my only complaint about this particular Dave's. The food was good though.

TLDR: Friend ordered DHC delivery. Impressively it was quite crispy by the time we got it and the extra hot is in fact, extra hot. Try the Reaper if you want to have a spicy night and morning after. A friend of mine ordered a tray delivery and this was much tastier than I expected. Tried everything from mild, medium, hot, extra hot and one reaper for fun. We eventually found it and yeah - it is pretty insane. Overall it left a good enough impression that I wanted to see if there was one near home and fortunately, there is. Will be ordering again.

Good fast hot chicken. Service was excellent. Small number of 2 too tables inside (~8) . Small menu of sliders or tenders with many spice varieties w fries and drinks. Flavor was good. Good value 14 for 2 sliders and fries. Good sized tenders as well as juicy chicken. Dave's sauce a nice compliment as well as honey. Give it a try.

A personal favorite of mine. Dave's hot chicken. My item of choice. Combo 2, which is the 2 slider meal with fries. I do go with the hot level for chicken. There are 2 more levels above hot ( extra hot and atomic/reaper). This last visit was pretty good. Food was on point. It was quite busy when we went, but the food was prepared fairly quickly. They do have a reward program to accrue points, which can later be redeemed for menu items etc.

Overall: This is a small store that mostly caters to people carrying out. They basically only serve a few permutations of fried chicken tenders with different levels of spicy sauce. The meals are well executed and are probably a step above many of the other fast food chicken places nearby. The portions are pretty huge and always fresh. Its a good place to grab lunch. Food: 4 Service: 4 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Food: Food is very good - probably closer to a 4.5, but doesn't quite push it over the top. I ordered the 2 slider meal, which comes with 2 sliders (full size chicken sandwiches) and fries. The chicken patty is basically just one of their tenders inside a roll with some cole slaw. The sauce is served in a small container on the side. Everything comes out hot and fresh. Fries are a bit over-seasoned. Service: The workers here are generally quick and polite. They mostly just operate the register and call out order numbers though. Value: All in, its ~$17 for the 2 slider meal. Its not horrible, but for a fast food its still a bit pricey. There is quite a lot of food. Atmosphere: Overall, the restaurant is small. There's maybe 10 total tables for customers. There is usually room to sit, though the line and people waiting for for typically fill up all of the remaining space. Its mostly a takeout spot.

Absolutely amazing. For a fast food place, this is as good as it gets for fried chicken that brings heat. The fries were well seasoned, crispy, and paired nicely with the Dave's Sauce. The hot spice level brought a good amount of heat that didn't overpower the flavor. Very crispy, juicy and fresh from the fryer. The pickles on the side also were a nice addition to the chicken. Super crowded, luckily was able to find a seat as someone was just leaving but the wait time is relatively low even on a busy evening.

THISSS!!! This place surprised me. I've heard of this place before, but never been. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken sandwich was just a tender in a bun, but it melted in your mouth and had unbelievable flavor. I got both mild and lite mild. The lite mild to me did not have any mild flavor to me. The guy at the front register was super friendly, sweet, and patient. The inside is super cute, but small so limited seating. I will definitely be back.

Tried Dave's in the city with a friend I wanted to meet up quickly with. Ive heard great things about this joint specifically because they use halal meat and we all know Halal fast food options are few and far between even in a place like New York City. The inside of the shop has ample amount of tables for a quick bite, although I will say the table tops were a little dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before getting seated. The chicken sliders were good, fried well and a generous portion of meat. I really liked the seasoning on the tenders and it was juicy and succulent inside. I do wish the sliders had more coleslaw to them, they need a fresh component. Fries were pretty standard. Overall I liked the flavors and would definitely pop by again for a quick bite. I especially love their extra hot it's actually spicy. Next time I'm gonna go for the reaper and see how that pans out.

I placed an online order for scheduled pick up of 20 mini sliders the night before. When I arrived, they put my order on the counter 2-3 minutes later than the scheduled time. No big deal. I (and 2-3 other customers) then had to stand and wait for around 10 minutes while the two cashiers/employees working the front fiddled with something I can only hope was very important on one of their phones. One of them finally seems to realize she has a job to do and checks my order before handing it to me. I mentioned before that I ordered 20 mini sliders - what I received was 4 PIECES OF UNTOASTED WHITE BREAD CARPETING THE BOTTOM WITH PICKLES SCATTERED ON TOP, PICKLES AND SAUCE IN SEPARATE CONTAINERS. Mind you, the worker who gave it to me looked in the bag and looked at my receipt before handing this garbage to me. She was more than okay to see this out the door. Thankfully, I notice only a few steps out and go back in to ask them, more kindly than they deserved, to remake the order. They remake the order, which takes another 15-20 minutes. I am 30 minutes late for the event the sliders were for by the time I leave. What eliminated any remaining goodwill I had towards this location and franchise as a whole was when I arrived to my event, where unfortunately only then did I notice THEY HAD ONLY GIVEN ME 16 SLIDERS INSTEAD OF THE 20 I ORDERED. Also, despite ordering medium spicy on half, either all of the sliders were mild or their spice blend is just thoroughly bland and unnoticeable. Do not waste your time with this disrespectful restaurant. I highly recommend the Popeyes around the corner or the Raising Canes in the same neighborhood for a much better alternative that actually gives you what you order on time, low as that bar may be.

First time at Dave's. Quite impressed with the amount of food you get in an order. Tasty sliders. The sauce accents the sliders very well. Clean restaurant with friendly and quick service. Enjoyed the experience.

A little shop, but the food is VERY good! The kale slaw is perfectly seasoned. The cheese fries come in a large portion and was served hot with crispy fries and lots of cheese. Perfect snack!

I have been dying to try Dave's chicken and see what the hype is about. I ordered their chicken tender sliders with French fries, not spicy. The fries were actually very crisp and the chicken had good flavor. It's not the most amazing chicken I have ever tried but it does have good flavor. I believe that for the price and flavor, it is a bit overhyped. The order did take a while since it was somewhat a busy afternoon. The menu is very small so the selections are limited.

Dave's Hot Chicken serves up deliciously seasoned hot chicken tenders and crispy fries at a great price. I ordered my meal to-go, and despite the busy crowd, it was ready fast and piping hot. The chicken had the perfect level of spice, and the portions were generous. The food is consistently good, and it's a reliable choice for a quick and satisfying meal. If you're craving flavorful hot chicken, this is the place to go - there's also an area to sit and eat too with an old school looking vibe.

For dinner I had the Yemeni Au Police Kebab, Filet Mignon which was absolutely delicious. The peppercorn Hawaii really sweetened the meat's flavor. So high marks for the steak. My wife had two small dishes which she wasn't as thrilled with, Grilled Artichokes which were too dry for her liking and Manti, which she liked. Main takeaways. Very pricey, beautiful atmosphere (if you get a nice table) and maybe a place that's better for a group than a couple.

Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. Located in Midtown, we walked up to a simple setup where the focus is on quick, flavorful platters rather than a sit-down dining experience. The biggest part of the experience is honestly the atmosphere around the cart, with the long lines and constant crowd showing how much hype has built around this spot. The cart is compact and functional, with the grill and prep area taking up most of the space, and the steady flow of customers moving through the line reflects its popularity as a late-night food destination. We ordered the classic chicken and lamb combo platter, which comes with rice, salad, pita, and their signature white sauce and hot sauce. The meat was well seasoned and had a good balance of savory flavors, with the lamb adding a richer taste compared to the chicken. The rice is also a big part of the dish, especially with the sauces mixed in, giving everything a more complete flavor. The hot sauce adds a nice kick, but it can get pretty spicy depending on how much you add. The portions are generous, and it is definitely the type of meal that feels filling without being overly complicated. The combination of grilled meat, rice, and sauces works well together, and it is easy to understand why it became such a popular option. It has that classic halal cart style where the appeal comes from simple ingredients done well rather than anything overly creative. The biggest downside is the wait. The line can get extremely long, sometimes stretching far beyond the cart, and depending on when you visit, you may be waiting a significant amount of time for something that is meant to be quick street food. The staff move efficiently and the line does go faster than expected, but it is still something to consider before coming. The turnover is fast enough that the wait does not feel endless, but visiting during off hours is probably the smarter move if you want to avoid the busiest periods. Adel's Famous Halal Food is a solid halal cart with flavorful food, generous portions, and a reputation that is easy to understand after trying it. The food itself is good and worth checking out, but it is not necessarily worth waiting an extremely long line for when there are many other halal spots around New York. It is a great stop if the wait is reasonable, offering a meal that feels both familiar and satisfying, and a classic street food experience that captures the energy of Midtown.

The quality was good and the quantity was exactly what you would expect. The container was filled all the way to the top with basically no room to wiggle. The food is definitely a step above what I've had in NYC so far in this category. The spicy rice is a must. The hot sauce is actually spicy so be careful with that. White sauce was good as well. I personally don't care for soggy fries and don't understand why that's a thing, but I seem to be alone on that because my whole group loved them. The meats are where this place really stands out. They're a level above some other spots I've tried. I had a gyro from another place that I would consider our "usual," and this meat was definitely a grade above that. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would eat it again. There were some complaints about extra charges for extra white sauce, which apparently many other places don't do. I can't personally verify or validate that, but mentioning it since I heard it. My brother-in-law said they waited about 40 minutes and that's crazy to me. I would never wait that long for this type of food. I will never wait more than 10 minutes for a "rice over" dish in 2026 at any place. The novelty wore off in the early 2010s and my time is more valuable than that. But if someone brings it to me, I will absolutely devour it without hesitation.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

Love the look of Friedman's. Nice dining room that they pack in comfortably. I was impressed by the chunks of pastrami throughout. Very hearty and very delicious! My husband indulged in the Nova Benedict. They packed on the lox. He didn't even finish but found it amazingly delicious. Service was okay. Nothing too spectacular. I almost felt an inconvenience to the server but we didn't have a fussy order nor was it busy (we ordered before the rush). Maybe she was preparing for the rush. Lol either way, it wouldn't stop me from returning.

The Good: Still like what it used to taste like from what I can remember. Hits the spot every time!…read more The Bad: Adel's is a fierce competitor a few blocks down with a long line. BUT, imho Adel's doesn't really taste as good as the original Halal Guys in terms of flavor and fragrance. The chicken from Adel's is in bigger chunks and some argue is more tender, but the flavor is definitely not close. Also, it's important that it comes with lettuce, tomatoes and a little onion to balance everything out. Finally, You must get both the spicy red and white sauce together to make it all come together! The Ugly: The smell is addictive, so if you walk by, it's hard to resist, even if you've just eaten a nice meal somewhere else. We couldn't resist. Gotta hit the gym hard for the next few days!

And that line is no joke. You will wait. Plan accordingly. Here's my dilemma: every single time I eat here, my stomach lets me know about it later. Without fail. I've tried adjusting the hot sauce, going easy on portions... doesn't matter. Something about this food and my digestive system just don't agree. At this point I have to accept that it's probably not for me. So why do I keep coming back? Because at 2 AM after a late night, when everything else is closed and you're starving in Times Square, that platter of chicken and rice over white sauce smells like salvation. They're the only game in town at that hour, and honestly, in the moment, it hits. It's the next morning I regret it. If your stomach handles it better than mine, you'll probably love it. The food is tasty and the portions are huge for the price. I just wish I could enjoy it without paying for it twice.
