I waited in line only to get to the front and they told me they had no more burger buns...isn't their specialty burgers???

The food was good. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. But my ears are still bleeding from the music being so loud. Totally ruined our meal. How unfortunate that something so easy to fix is going to keep us from returning. read more

Coming into five guys for the first time I had somewhat high expectations. The location itself is great and the surrounding atmosphere is clean. When I walked in I was greeted and I ordered my burger. No problems with having the order taken. Waiting time was about 10 minutes. The burger itself was mediocre. I had a regular little burger with everything but mustard and pickles( the new hire had trouble putting this in but it was big deal to me). Taste was somewhat on the bland side and the entire burger itself was like eating a pillow. Whenever I eat a burger Id like it to have a little bit of firmness rather than the feeling of melting as I bite it. Those were my only concerns with the food. The fries were great but not the best however the portion size is huge. The main reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the new summer workers. Sure when you walk in they yell "2 PATTIES" which seemed normal to me for a place like that . But when I finally got my food there was constant yelling of pure nonsense. I felt since the restaurant was fairly empty they felt like they could do what they did. However, it completely ruined the eating in experience for me. If you'd like some five guys, take it to go. The summer hires seem completely immature and you will not be able to join your food with the atmosphere they cause. read more

I dont get how anyone can give this chain 5 stars. Decent burger, decent fries, but sure as heck not almost twelve dollars good. The burger was not juicy, serving a butt load of fries for the small does not make them good. As others have said, all that yelling by staff does not help the experience, and the peanut concept is getting old...I understand at a restaurant where it is almost an appetizer, but I dont need an appetizer waiting for a burger. They never cease to amaze me at how someone can even be bad at a flipping burgers job. No body in this location cares. It is just a paycheck to these people no customer service what so ever. I finally ate here for the first time. They have all you can eat peanuts where u can grab yourself and crack out of the shelves. They were good, but salty of course. I got a lettuce wrapped burger, they give you grilled mushrooms for free. Overall, okay. I wish the meat was less fatty because I could see big chunks of fat before every bite. I prefer In 'n Out (which is also much less expensive too). Next time I'll try a fry if whoever I'm with orders it, they looked good because they had seasoning on it. read more

It wasn't bad, but honestly would have just preferred Whataburger. Their burgers are big and come with double meat and be sure to only order the little fry, they give you a ton of french fries. read more

I had to get new tires at Discount Tire so thought I would get a hamburger next door. I ate at Five Guys many years ago, downtown and remember thinking it was okay. Today, I had to wait over 1/2 hour to get my food. I went gluten free several years ago so got "a bowl," since they don't have gluten-free buns, with a hamburger, grilled onions and bacon and french fries. To my surprise, there was no lettuce, tomato or pickle that came with the bowl. The guy taking my order didn't ask me whether I wanted them and I just assumed that you got everything that came with a burger except the bun when you ordered a bowl. The hamburger meat was fine. The bacon was nice and crispy but the grilled onions tasted oniony - not that good carmelized onion flavor. The overall was just okay...well maybe a little less than just okay. The wait and the price $11.02 was not worth it, at all! Hop Doddy or Mighty Fine burgers for me in the future. read more

First tried these burgers in Washington DC. So happy it came to Texas. The burger is ok but when ordered "all the way" it's incredible! Best burger around and I love hamburgers. Melt in your mouth good. Be careful when ordering fried, the servings are huge. read more

I actually prefer this location over a lot of the other ones in Austin! It looks like a new location on the inside, it's very spacious and welcoming, and when I went the staff working was actually very friendly! If you are going with another person, only get one side of fries for both of you to share, they always give me so many fries I can't eat them all alone!! I like knowing that they are cooking the burger right there while I wait, and it's really cool to be able to see the grill too! They have a ton of topping options which I like to mix it up each time I go so that makes my meal different each time. So we visit this location maybe once a month (at most). So the good stuff- the staff is always pretty friendly and customer service is a big deal to me. The burgers are great with all the toppings- only once did we get a dry patty but the hubby said it was "fine". The fries are good if you like "boardwalk style" aka they won't be crunchy since they cook them twice so the center is fluffy but the outside is barely crisp. I happen to really like them and so does the family especially with the malt vinegar. Anyway now to the bad- it is a little expensive for what you are getting. As a family of 4 (the kiddos being 7 and 4), with even just 1 regular burger, 2 little burgers (the kiddos split one), a large fry and one drink it totals to around $30. Which is pretty expensive when there's only one drink.. So why only 4 Stars- the cost effects my want to love it.. as I can go to a sit down restaurant and spend the same but get more food and have someone wait on us.. but the real kicker is the music isn't always kid friendly. I am normally not a stickler for Parental Ratings etc. but in a public restaurant location to have music playing about what my grandma would refer to as "ladies of the evening" but in not so PG words and various other words- just not my cup of tea especially since the music is always loud.. now this was one occasion out of many but when I complained to corporate about it and no one called me back it left me even more upset.. just saying. read more

I like the food. I have been to this location a few times and always left satisfied. Today I went in with my son for a burger. The employee at the register did not greet me, did not ask "How can I help you?", "What can I get you?", not even a "Hello". Instead he looked at me with wide eyes, very rudely and just stood there. While my son and I were trying to decide what to order, he turned his head away in another direction. When I attempted to place my order he refused to look at me. When I made a comment regarding him not listening he very rudely replied "I can multi-task. I'M WAITING ON YOU". I walked out and will not return. AWFUL service, rude cashier. I'm pretty sure I know why he works as a cashier at a restaurant and it isn't because he is great at multi-tasking, more along the lines of he has NO skills. I've been hearing about the 'Five Guys Burgers' hype now for close to a year, but tonight was my first time at any of these fast food chain locations. While the red-and-white tile decor evokes any other burger joint trying to evoke a 50's diner - the food itself is anything but standard fast food quality. The menu essentially just consists of burgers, fries, hotdogs, and fountain beverages, but the 'Five Guys' philosopy is quality, not quantity. All food is made to order and with fresh ingredients - you watch the cooks prepare your food in front of your eyes in the open kitchen. I ordered a cheeseburger with Cajun fries and a fountain drink. The wait was about ten minutes for my order - but worth the wait! The Cajun fries were just doused with a dry rub and somewhat of a let down on flavor and lack of spiciness, but no big deal. The burger itself - and this is why you go here - was cooked expertly. My burger was so moist and juicy and fresh - my only regret is that I didn't order a second one. At $9 and change for a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink this meal was a little more expensive then I was expecting, but I guess that is the price you pay for freshness and quality. 'Five Guys' isn't the be-all-end-all some make it out to be, but for what it is, it beat McDonalds hands down. read more
