I wish I didn't even have to put any stars. This place is awful! I don't even know where to start. We've read all the hype and decided to give this place a try. This is just a fast food place w/o the drive thru or a dollar menu. Our family of 4 got 4 burgers and 3 fries and 3 drinks and the total was $41 dollars! I about fell out the chair when I saw the receipt, thinking these things better be freakin spectacular! Before my husband put the plain brown bags on the table, you could see the grease soaking thru...........ugh........way to get your appetite up. I got a "small" plain cheeseburger. Small? Why don't they just say regular cheeseburger. They're NOT small, but the same size as every other fast food place. Their idea of "regular" is actually a double burger. Why don't they just say that? Let's talk about all the grease. My daughter took a bite out of hers, turned it around and goes, "mom, look" and then squeezed it so you could see all the grease dripping out of it onto the table, then laughed. They do taste good but definitely NOTHING to write home about, nothing to warrent all those quotes about how great they are that are wallpapering their walls. They taste like Burger King burgers in my opinion. I will say the fries ARE good and better then the standard fast food fry, but there's just WAY TOO MANY of them. They shove their fries in paper cups, put them in their brown bags, then dump the rest of the fries in just loose, what the heck is that? Most of our fries went in the trash, we just couldn't eat all of them. What's up w/ the peanuts? I just didn't get it. This is a fast food burger joint and they have boxes of free shelled peanuts you get yourself and that's supposed to make up for the pile of grease they serve? We will not go back. We'll stick to our favorite burger place, Fuddruckers, where a family of 4 can eat for $30 or less. If you want THE BEST burger, go there...........that's where you'll find us on a Sat. night. Five guys has been one of my favorite burger places throughout my life. They're a little on the expensive side for a burger but they are worth every penny. Cooked to perfection, with your own choice of toppings, it's a guaranteed success every time. This particular location has been consistently amazing in terms of food, service, and cleanliness. The Five Guys divide. Whenever I talk to others about Five Guys there are two types of people: Those who rave how Five Guys is one of the better burger joints or those who are like whatever. I'm part of the latter. It's just alright, the burgers don't carry the flavor other joints that you can visit for the same price. The fries are good, but they do get soggy if not eaten promptly. Even though I find this place middle of the road, I'll still keep coming back simply because everything is made to order. This is the redeeming characteristic, but until then, I'll continue to give Five Guys a chance to change my mind. read more

Amazing! First off just the place itself is clean sanitary and the workers are friendly smiling upbeat and helpful....now for the food...I got the bacon cheeseburger 2 patties and the regular fries. The "regular" fries could feed a army lol delicious though. Salty thick cut fried in peanut oil makes them different from every other burger spot. The burger was huge juicy great amount of toppings. Not sure why people say the veggie sandwich isn't a winner. Sometimes a veggie patty burger can be a disappointment. Hit or miss to say the least. At least this is not a hit or miss since there is no patty. First time I got one and would recommend to all. The cheese is nicely melted into the grilled onions/peppers/mushrooms. Comes standard (at this location) with lettuce tomato and the grilled veggies. I opted for mayo and mustard and will get this again. After I try the grilled cheese with the grilled veggies next time. So, I cant hide that I am a life-long, die-hard, In-N-Out fan. I read other reviews on Five Guys ( not yelp but other comparisons ), some said it was better than In-N-Out by a mile ( an yes some alleged In-N-Out fans ), blah blah blah. So while in Tucson, AZ I went out of my way to find one and gave it a test drive. Upon first arriving on a Sunday, early afternoon, I thought the place was closed......there were no cars around and nobody walking in or out ( like that ! ). Well, they were open and I was promptly greeted. I don't like being rushed but this was OK I guess, I just wanted to stare at the menu for a couple of minutes. I got a bacon burger and a medium fries. I was the only one waiting on food as there were only 2 others in the place. It took about 5-10 minutes to get the food. Good thing they had free re-fills, I went through a whole soda waiting. Burger was unusually perfectly round and compact. It was tasty and juicy, but the grilled onions were a little bigger than I usually make for a burger. The fries were pretty good, but were a little big for my liking so I had to use a ton of ketchup to give them a little more flavor. The bun resembled in-n-out's type of soft bun. The inside reminded me of in-n-out ( the colors and amount of tile ).I was also a bit put off by all of the screaming and yelling by the crew, I think its suppose to be that way and create an atmosphere, but with an empty restaurant, it was a bit over the top for me. The one thing that absolutely killed me was the fact that everywhere I looked, there were sign about " how good we are ". The signage was from all around the country indicating how good they were, how fresh they were, voted this, voted that blah blah blah. In my humble opinion, this is not necessary, I don't need YOUR signs telling me how good YOU are or rather think you are based on what 50 different people said. I thought it was tacky and not needed. They are opening a new store in Kingman this week and I will take a gander over and if the same tacky signage exists, I will turn around ad walk out it that simple, because the food is not good enough to make me ignore the cocky signage. read more

My dogs love this place. The outdoor seating area is always shaded in the afternoon, with solid sturdy outdoor tables. We opt for a couple of burgers, some fries to share, and an all-beef hot dog served without bun or condiments (my dogs favorite part). Fries are different, featuring the "just cut" vibe, which is normally not my favorite, but these are pretty good. Burgers feature lots of options for toppings. My chief complaint: only american cheese is featured, which, when used, gives the burgers a greasy taste that I don't enjoy. Here's a unique perspective: a person who doesn't eat beef goes to a burger joint! "Whaaaaa????" You might say... "Why?" You might ask... Trust me, its not entirely as stupid a proposition as you might presume. Sure, 90% of their menu im not going to eat, and therefore not going to review. BUT vegetarians and french fry lovers everywhere will be kowtowing to the mere existence of this review. Had been wanting to try this place ever since they showed up in AZ a while back. Ive been an occasional grilled cheese and fries orderer at In 'n Out for several years now and honestly really enjoy their take on it (the fries? not a huge fan, but i digress...) 5 guys offers for the veggies among us 2 options: Grilled cheese and a Veggie Sandwich. The website was unclear as to the difference, so I asked the lady behind the counter when we got there. The lady behind the counter was unclear as to the difference, so I ordered both. Ordered both 'all the way' (ketchup, mayo, mustard, lettuce, pickle, tomato, grilled onion, grilled mushrooms)The difference? The bun on the grilled cheese is inside out. Yup. Thats it. Believe it or not, it makes a difference. Why? The grilled cheese's bass ackwards buns create good grill surface connection, and thereby create a nice crispy crust. Also, the grilled cheese somehow managed to stay together better. For any fans of the In and Out version of this sandwich, I have two things to say: 1) 5 guys does it way better and with way more options than In and Out. and 2) for the price I paid for these two sandwiches, I could have eaten about 8 In n out grilled cheeses. You can figure it out for yourself which is more important to you. Both I and my buddy grabbed some fries. I went cajun and he went original. The cajun was good, the original was better. The size of the fries, both in amount served and in girth of the individual fry is way bigger at 5 guys. The fries were good, but in my opinion a little undercooked, They were soft and well cooked all the way through, i just would have LOVED a crispy outside :( On a side note, my buddy and I both separately agreed that the cheese at 5 guys is way better. Its thicker, cheesier, and just tastes better. On another side note, unless youre a peanut fetishist, the salted peanuts is a gimmick, and theyre delicious, just take too much effort to actually get the peanuts out. Atmosphere was interchangeable with In n Out. Staff were fun, friendly, inviting, and as helpful as possible. Ill probably go again sometime in the relative near future. When i get the craving. And yeah, people, its a burger place. Grease is involved. Get over it. read more

This place is decent. I like the fact you can order toppings. I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. It was okay good taste for a burger, but I believe they are way over priced! Tried the Cajun fries, but holy Toledo, talk about a salt bomb! They were not fit for human consumption. So we don't have in and out burgers in Tennessee all we have that even compares are Five Guys and they are pretty good. However this Five Guys takes the cake. I ordered my food online which was a first for me at a Five Guys and I was suprised. Everything was so smooth and the food was grrreat!!! I showed up, went to the pick up line, told them my name, they cooked my fries in less than a minute, and in 5 mins I was at home enjoying some delicious Five Guys burger and fries. It is no In and Out Burger but everyone should try it at least once to give it a chance. read more

What can I say? The burgers are always good, freshly made, and have plenty of toppings. If you like bacon, get a bacon burger. I get the burger (two patties), fries (regular or cajun), and a drink. Drinks are Coca-Cola products, including Coke Zero. Got two in your party? Don't double up on the fries. There's enough for two in one serving. Just get another sandwich and drink. (My GF drinks water, so I just get another burger and we're set). There are also free peanuts to eat while you wait. The cardboard trays they have for the peanuts can be used to share an order of fries. They have hot dogs, too, but the burgers are the real show here. read more

When we got out food the veggies were left out of my boyfriend's burger. He went to let the staff know and they made a whole fresh new burger! They told him he could eat the veggie-less burger too!! I was amazed! You don't see much of that nowadays. Then to top it off gave us both complementary salted caramel Oreo shakes! I'm blown away by the customer service! Keep up the amazing work! But if answering yes to "Do you want fries and a soda with that" brings the price up to $11.00, I expect to be ordering from my table -- not standing in line at a counter. I'd say everything was just fine, even if a little excessive in calculating some of the portions (like the huge "regular" fries, for instance) and price. Also, the fries were mediocre, but made much better by the fact that Five Guys offers malt vinegar as a standard condiment. And the burger really was top notch, with great toppings and condiments. Went in and it was very busy. The service was very quick considering. The prices are a little higher than other places but you get more for your money. The standard burgers are all double patties with whatever condiments you want. The burger was good which is what I expected. The large order of fries was huge and enough for 5 of us. Came here over the holiday season while my parents were in town. I have to be honest this place may have just won me over. I had been there before and was not a fan! To my husband and I, 5 guys is THE BEST tasting burger in town. The burgers are huge and greasy, just like we love them. The fries are great! We usually order one small fry and split it. And the staff at the Broadway and Craycroft store is very friendly and always say hello and goodbye. So they feed you well and the service is great...buuuut, the DOWN slope that has caused my husband and I to take our business elsewhere is the price. We've been going to 5 guys for years and ever so slowly their prices have gone up, up and up. For 2 burgers, 2 drinks and one fry, the price has gone from $20 to over $24. We went to whataburger and got two burgers, 2 fries and 2 large drinks and only paid $17. The fries aren't as good at whataburger but for $7, I'm willing to eat onion rings instead. read more

I feel like Five Guys is in my top 5 favorite burgers of all time. They give you more than enough fries, me and my bf get the smallest size and we never finish them. I go here when I'm really hungry because the food portions are HUGE! The counter lady suggested we split an order of fries; it was a good choice, because the two of us could not finish them all. I thought my burger was pretty average. My sister liked hers a bit better. The music was way too loud- and I normally like my music loud. To be honest, I prefer In-n-Out. Five Guys has a minimalist menu of burgers, hotdogs, and fries but with a wider range of fresh toppings. The burgers are pretty tasty and not too salty, and the fries are plump and plentiful :). I don't really know what the hype is about this place, but they do have good burgers and fries(burgers like you make at your backyard BBQ). I had the big bacon cheeseburger "all the way". It was a great burger, but it better freakin be for $7! Also, everyone was telling me that they have all these crazy toppings - OK, I guess, if mushrooms or jalepenos are crazy. Lets get something straight, this is a fast food burger joint. If your looking for a place that cooks your meat medium rare with sauteed mushrooms or avocado then your in the wrong place. If your looking for a burger overload, messy, greasy with traditional condiments then get it with everything and you wont be disappointed. I am passionate about my burgers and these were not terrible, but I probably would not go back on my own. The meat was quality, the burger was all in all, decent (but greasy), fries were soggy (I asked SPECIFICALLY for well, and they said ALL of the fries are ALWAYS WELL), cheese was velveeta like in quality (not really tasty). 27 bucks for 3 burgers, 2 fries and 1 drink....SERIOUSLY?? Of course its good. A Large fry has the most calories of any fast food french fry on the market.. Probably because they give you SO many.. but you can also get the burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun, or in a bowl instead of a bun.. so a better option if you MUST have FIve Guys but dont want all of that bread.
