This franchise was in the past very reliable. However, my last three visits have not been up to standards. Two of the employees are not following the guidelines that made FG good. 1) Fries have been wet and soggy and mostly bad. The French fry cook is not following the corporate process for fries. You can't make too many too quick in one basket or they become like the last bunch, almost inedible. You can't reheat fries! Please one more time and I will notify corporate. 2) You can't make a good burger if you are constantly pressing the patties on the grill. The patty doesn't cook so much as burn in tiny chunks. When you do that, the grill becomes crusty and has to be scrapped which is gross! Follow the process and no problems. Why these two guys are spoiling FIve Guys is beyond me. I am not so much in a hurry that I need to have my lunch destroyed by someone who just wants to roll out for the day. read more

Though some may consider five guys to be a blossoming fanchise in the DMV area i feel a little at home at every one i go to. The burgers are all cooked to a medium well-well done temperature but i have no quarrel with this. what i love so much about this place is the size helpings. well using the word "love" can be misleading as i cannot order one of the regular size burgers which is actually just two patties stack like the most delicious game of jenga. The premise is simple pay for the bun and meat, it's up to you whether or not you want cheese or the meat or champions, bacon, then you can add on any of the other delectable, fresh ingredients. What you're left with is the best tower of a burger $5 can buy. The regular size order of fries can feed a family of four unless they're american. the soda machine at this particular plave isone of the most innovative i've seen in america. As far as 5 Guys go, this is one of my favorite. Spacious, clean layout and single file ordering line make the food taste better somehow. Today a friend of mine was on her way to work and had to get off train to get shuttle. She came in and asked if she could use the rest room it was an emergency. The guy told her she had to buy something which she could not do. He was disrespectful and when she asked for the manager he said he was. And if she wasn't going to buy something she had to get out. He was rude and arrogant. It would have cost him nothing to help. That five guys just lost a customer and many new ones. read more

Just got a shake and it came out covered in whipped cream on the outside and the whipped cream was terribly done and the shake was only 75% of the way to the top. When the employee gave it to me, she knew this was probably the least appealing shake. I looked st the shake then at her, and she proceeded to only take the whipped cream out of the outside. I kept not taking it, waiting for her to fix the whipped cream, but she never did. I took the shake and left. Overall, the shake had little oreo pieces, and was very runny. The lack of whipped cream was noticeable. I usually enjoy Five Guys, and this location is usually fine, but the terrible quality that I encountered has change my perspective on this location. read more

I always become hesitant when I enter five guys and see $5.29 for a little bacon cheeseburger and $7.29 for a regular bacon cheeseburger. I immediate think of the days when Wendy's had the $0.99 junior bacon cheeseburger and how years later we're at a $5 and change for a "little cheeseburger". But then I order the regular bacon cheeseburger, add lettuce tomato pickles bbq sauce, and remember that it's only money lol. These burgers are darn good, darn juicy, and darn large. This location is easy to get to as there is a ton of pay street parking, and it is quite metro accessible using McPherson Square. The staff was very friendly, place was clean, my order came out quick and exactly as I ordered it. They always give you a ton of fries, and while I never get any I like the fact they offer the peanuts. I'd come here all the time if my doctor wouldn't side eye me. DO NOT EAT HERE! I had the worst customer service ever!!! I understand you have to be a paying customer before using the restroom, but when I asked for the code, I was told in Spanish. 1. That's racist. 2. This country's primary language is English. Use it first. After I used the bathroom I went straight to the cashier and tried to buy a soda because I used their bathroom. The cashier, Ardealia, immediately had a pissed off face and gave my brother an attitude when he asked for the code so he could go to the bathroom too. She started yelling at him saying why didn't he just wait until we left and use it after? Literally yelling. Well, he was trying to explain that another coworker of hers told my brother to buy something first and then he can get the code. So he came straight to the cashier but I was already buying something so he asked for the code again. The cashier continued to yell at my brother over and over again saying she doesn't understand what he wants and he should've gone after us. Another coworker kept trying to speak to him in Spanish and he told her he wasn't Hispanic. I really wanted to yell back at the cashier for yelling at my brother but I told him the code and tried to get him away from her. By that time he just walked out. The cashier also told me the soda I was buying was $2.38 at first. After the whole argument she said it was $3.38. I asked her about it and she said Oh yeah I meant to say $3.38. I said ok, paid for it, filled my drink, and left. The entire crew we interacted with were all disgustingly rude and impatient. Coming from Hawaii where everyone greets each other with smiles and Aloha, then coming to this Five Guys location was such a culture shock. I do not ever want what I just went through to happen to anyone else. Nobody deserves such disrespect. After we left, I drank my vanilla cherry flavored Mr. Pibb and was also disappointed. Popped in here for a quick lunch. I wish I had known more about this place before ordering as we ended up with more food than we anticipated. I actually thought that they might have mistakenly added a second patty to my burger. Whoops! I was really pleasantly surprised by the meal. McDonald's et al. are completely blown out of the water by this establishment. Gooey, melted cheese, meat juicy and cooked to perfection. It's great that the toppings, even the mushrooms aren't extra. I hear the only thing not "fresh" are the mushrooms which are canned, but everything else tasted delicious and freezer-burn free. The fries were delicious as well - crisp and thick cut. Next time, I think I'll go for a little cheeseburger. The free peanuts are a fun touch and I like that they tell you where the day's potatoes have come from. If I'm out and about and forced to go with "fast food", I'd choose this place over everything else any day. read more

Had a burger with onions and mushrooms, well the burger was over cooked/ burnt. Onions were supposed to be grilled, they were not and the mushrooms were rubbery and tasteless. I've had Five Guys before and it was good so I think it's just this location. Who ever is managing this location needs to make some serious changes. read more

I ate here on both June 26th and June 21st. The first time I ate there, I noticed that I felt a little bit queasy the day after...but I didn't think it was a big deal and I didn't know if it was necessarily because of that. I went back for lunch on the 26th...a few hours later, the worst stomach ache of my life began. I was doubling over on my way home work, I took several doses of Pepto-Bismol throughout the evening and night. At night, it got so bad that I thought I would have to be hospitalized for food poisoning. It had to be Five Guys, because I did not eat anything else that day prior to the stomach ache. Also, I wanted to use their rest room and I was told I would have to order food first. A short while later, an attractive blonde came in and said she needed to use the restroom. No one made her order first. She promptly walked out and left afterward. Regardless, my one-star is for the food...not that. Tastes great, but boy...I won't be eating there again. read more

If I can give no stars I would. This restaurant doesn't deserve any. A employee was rude and so was the manager. I came to order a burger but before I did I go to wash my hand. I ask for the code and she automatically say I have to pay. I felt discriminated why because she was Hispanic and I'm black. 5 guys is the standard by which all new burger chains are measured against, and why I don't understand why all these new burger places keep popping up in this area? Most can't compete in quality, taste or price. Getting a little more specific to this location I like the view, location(above McPherson sq metro), service is friendly and quick, and its larger. Lots of seating even when it's super busy. There are many reasons I love this chain. I use to go to the first location in Arlington and through peanuts on the floor. I love that a burger shop from Arlington that doesn't advertise is the fastest growing food chain in the US. I love that even a little fries is more then I can normally finish. I love that you can order Cajun seasoning on the fries and that it's not on the menu so it makes you seem like in some super secret spy club. Yes, a burger & fries combo will most like give you the itis but that is what big heavy food does. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, this place is RIGHT NEXT to the Metro. It is always tempting to stop by after work to grab a bite to eat, as you can smell the food walking to the Metro. I have been to this location for both lunch and dinner and have enjoyed it. The line at lunch time can get long, so either go early or wait a little; however, the line moves quickly. The food is prepared fresh, and the burgers, hot dogs, and fries all taste great. read more

Burger was a little on the smaller size, but tasty, juicy, and filling. No charge for toppings like grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, bbq sauce, hot sauce, and you can choose to have them all! Coming from the Bay Area, can't beat the price either, although the fries are a little expensive for a small cup. I only had $10 on me so had to pass and go for a drink. Ok. I gave it a try as I'm Californian and these are still rare there while In-n-Out is everywhere. And I hate to burst y'alls bubble - this doesn't even come close to In-n-Out. Was everything obviously fresh? Yes. Cooked well? The burger, yes. The fries? I tried the Cajun fries and while I liked the spices, most were limp and many were soggy! That's a fail in my book. There was also something very key missing from the burger - seasoning! There was almost none. And the cheese tasted a little off to me. Sorry, folks.
