It's an absolutely NOT for me! The food is as freshly prepared and served piping hot. However, the garlic shrimp were prepared in the soupy white sauce. It was definitely not what I was expecting

It's a no for me. Waited 25 minutes to receive my steak over cooked and flavorless along with my "garlic" shrimp. Both flavorless. Overcooked and definitely not worth the wait.

Ordered the Garlic Shrimp combo. Comes with two scoops of rice, small salad and three pineapple wedges. Didn't think it would be enough. But it was just the right portion. Everything was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this spot.

Booth in the Waikiki Food Hall at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza serving simple shrimp meals. Ended up eating here because my mom was craving shrimp and the food looked gas. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. When your food's ready, you grab it at the front. I got the Butter Shrimp plate, which came with two scoops of white rice, shrimp covered in butter, a tiny side salad (more like some greens covered in mayo), pineapple, and lemon. The flavors were simple but tasty; I especially enjoyed rubbing my rice in the butter. You have to peel the skin and tails off the shrimp, which I unfortunately didn't realize until after I ate a few of them. Speaking of, the shrimp were firm and juicy. Although, I wasn't getting a super strong lemon flavor, the shrimp was still solid. If you're looking for a meal that's on the lighter side, you should consider checking out Five Star Shrimp.

Found this food court in random area, this's indeed a hidden gem. Garlic shrimps are great, it's fresh and we got a good deal on Thursday $9.

Five Star Shrimp is the perfect name for this establishment! Five Stars were well deserved! We came on a Thursday night, and got to snag the Thursday night $9 Garlic Shrimp deal (it's usually $18)! We also ordered the Spicy Shrimp in the Pineapple Boat. Both the Garlic and Spicy Shrimp were cooked & seasoned so well, and we found that having both the Spicy and Garlic flavors complemented each other. Loved the Pineapple Boat, specifically! The pineapple was super sweet - we found ourselves scraping ever piece of the pineapple boat down to the last bite. They are super generous with their servings of shrimp. With our order, there was plenty of shrimp to share between two people. Quick service & super fun vibes here, with a short walk from the beach and other shops.

The steak and rice bowl is quite fresh and tasty. The garlic shrimp bowl sauce is too wet for me. I wouldn't recommend the garlic shrimp bowls.

Five star shrimp is now located on the 3rd floor of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in Waikiki Food Hall! It's the newest food eatery in the shopping center near Noi Thai and above Cheesecake Factory. Thursday's they have garlic shrimp special for $9, plate comes with 2 scoops rice, garlic shrimp, salad and a fresh pineapple. Delicious garlic shrimp and in the same food hall, tap bar hawaii has $2 craft beer specials all day. Check it out!!! An awesome place for pau hana! Follow Waikiki Food Hall on Instagram @waikikifoodhall for updates and specials.

Great surprisingly good shrimp from a food court, it was hot though being a open outdoor area. Shrimp was tasty and good portions

Good portion size. Okay shrimp plate. Steak was good. I enjoyed the salad and pineapple sides. This was our first time here and will probably be the last.

$18.50? Nah Call this steak? Pretty disappointed. So incredibly thin, and quantity looks to be about half of the menu image. I got bamboozled Barely 4 pieces of shrimp. Taste is ok but not for $18.50.

    Garlic Shrimp was excellent!

We love the Waikiki Food Hall, and Five Star Shrimp was the first place we tried when we discovered WFH. The garlic shrimp was so good (perfectly cooked, lovely garlic flavor but not too much), and it came with a nice fresh salad, rice with furikake and some cut pineapple with ling hing mui (Yum!) sprinkled on top. We enjoyed our meal so much, and especially because it was the Thursday special (we are on a budget). It was nicely filling, and completely enjoyable - so much that I went over to Five Star Shrimp to let them know how good it was. Love!

Shrimp ramen with added lemon & butter, yum!

I don't know why I didn't try this shrimp ramen before, but I finally tried it today & wow it was so good & flavorful! I added lemon & butter as additional topping, the fresh sourness of lemon & caper match the clear broth, slow roasted garlic adds extra depth, shrimps were perfect, yum!

When you come through the beach, you have the option of dining at the bar, which seems to be a totally different experience. The bar serves burgers and other bar foods, and we wanted something a little less casual. After entering through the bar, we ended up having to go to the desk inside. They added my name and took down my phone number to text when the table is ready. This place is huge. There is indoor seating with lots of grass "skirt" trim around some of the ceiling and bars, and the upholstery of the dining chairs are different colorful aloha prints. On the deck there are think torches and umbrellas and string lights. On the level just a few steps down are more umbrella tables and some musicians playing Hawaiian music. All around are photos of the famous Olympic champion, surgery, and actor Duke Kahanamoku. Much to my surprise, as I was looking around while waiting for a table, a girl asked if I was Denise. They didn't text me; rather, they jot down a brief description so they can just look around and find you. She sat us on the beach deck. Our server was fantastic, so friendly with lots of explanations and recommendations. They use an ordering system and it's fun like a week liked machine. Hubby's beer was delivered to our table before our server even walked away! We both ordered the teriyaki sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. It. Was. Freaking. Delicious. I was full, but couldn't stop eating because it was so good. Dukes is really a place where you know you are in Hawaii--the decor, the food, the music, the friendly service. If you come to Honolulu and don't come to Duke's, you'll be missing out.

We were also able to order online and the process was seamless. We have ordered the most expensive lobster roll, which I believe has 1/2 pounds of lobster. The lobster itself was super fresh and the texture is great. You can taste the freshness from the food and you know that the lobster is not previously frozen. Although the price is close to $80 for one lobster roll, the portion is huge. It can easily feed 2 adults. We enjoyed our experience overall but will opt for the smaller option next time haha

You can also buy just the cooked lobster meat: 1/2 lb (8 oz) for $75.00 They have can drinks such as sodas (including Hawaiian sodas) and beer. The roll was actually quite tasty! I was able to experiment with different flavors with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic mayo, lemon, and butter. The garlic mayo was surprisingly good with the lobster. You can also throw the Old Bay seasoning on the chips if you're in the mood. The price is pretty steep which was my mistake. I don't know what I was expecting when ordering lobster in Waikiki. The lady at the cash register was less than pleasant and helpful so it makes spending that money feel a little more painful. If you can afford it and are really craving a lobster roll, this should satiate you. I didn't feel like I needed more to eat after finishing my meal. Location: The store is located in the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. You have to take a staircase from the first floor to a lower floor to get to it. You may need to ask around for directions. The restaurant is super small. Maybe two or 3 small tables that can fit no more than 6-8 people.

Chat gpt recommended this place and I have to say the AI was right! The place is really fun. You can park downstairs and they valet Park you and they will stamp you for free parking. The atmosphere is a fun vibe. They had live music. It's a indoor outdoor place. One thing to note, they don't serve their lunch menu after 4:00 so we went there expecting burgers and they don't serve them. So we kind of stayed reluctantly. I ended up ordering the guava ribs and my wife got them too. Those had to be the best ribs I think I have ever had! They literally fall off the bone as you're trying to pick up the meat. One of the reasons we wanted to go here was we wanted the options of seafood but one of our adults doesn't like seafood and they said that they had all kinds of stuff, which they do. Our server Maka, was incredible. He brings us out a free appetizer and said that was from the chef. I don't know if it was the chef or him but I was impressed and it was good. It was some kind of little fried dumpling. It was awesome! One of the people in our party had thought he was not going to order something and I gave him one of my ribs and after he tasted it, suddenly he wanted some too. I grabbed Maka and asked him If he could get those ribs fast because the rest of us were already halfway through our meals. He got right on it and had that order in. We were dying to go back this trip and sad to say, we left disappointed. The whole vibe changed from a fun Hawaiian restaurant to a yuppie upscale restaurant... however they still have the live music, which was a nice. The atmosphere was nice too. The menu items were minimal and surprising to us, none looked appealing. We did get a couple of appetizers, which were good... and a few samplers from the chef which were the best thing we had. But overall, is was a waste of money - and a lot of it!- I will share a positive though, the crème brûlée served in the bottom of a pineapple was delicious! It had a tangy, sweetness of pineapple that was delicious, as well as beautiful! Overall, not the same Tiki's. We did eat at food trucks and little hole in the wall places that had food that was better. Skip the bougie restaurants and go straight to the food trucks and little restaurants. Tip: ask the locals were the good food is. They will tell you it is for sure not at restaurants like these.... We asked.
