Greek Chicken platter with halloumi cheese, soo good!
    Lou D.

Very good! Recommended. Great service, relaxed vibe, very comfortable seating. Interesting fusion dishes. Nice dessert and coffee menu. Some excellent Greek food but plenty of non Greek options like Steaks, salads, and even a Tai style shrimp. Very good! Will return!

Braised Short rib, mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts - the best dish on our table. I'll order this the next time I visit!

My friends and I decided at the last minute to have dinner together in Chapel Hill and lucked out in finding an open reservation at Flair restaurant on a Saturday night. The decor is upscale, classy, and inviting. Each of us loved what we ordered. The order of calamari was delicious but on the small side - it would barely be enough for 2 people to share. The huge main dishes made up for it! We ordered: Braised Short rib - my husband said it was the best he's ever had! Dijon crusted salmon with puréed parsnip - I loved this dish. The crispy coating was delicious. I requested it to be cooked as rare as possible. It was perfect! Blackened salmon with mushroom risotto - my friend said it was great! Herb chicken Milanese with gnocchi and arugula salad - my friend said her leftovers were just as good the next day! The dessert menu looked great but we were too full to try anything. We went home with leftovers! Service is outstanding. We definitely look forward to returning.

I came across Flair when searching for a nice dinner restaurant after my brother's UNC graduation. I was able to make a last minute reservation for Saturday at 7:45 pm. When I first stepped foot inside the restaurant, I was immediately impressed. The interior was modernly decorated and gave a distinguished, yet intimate atmosphere associated with a nice restaurant. For our appetizers, we ordered the smoked salmon tartare and tempura fish bites. For our entrees, we got the smoked salmon mornay, dijon-crusted salmon, steak frites, and chicken roulade. Each of the dishes, although they took some time to arrive, were beautifully presented on their respective plates. The smoked salmon tartare was unique as it came with small slices of bread to eat with. The tempura fish bites were delicious with the associated sauce, but it resembles more fried fish than tempura. The smoked salmon mornay was my dream dish -- including both smoked salmon and avocado, what more could I ask for? The sauce was rich and creamy and tied the whole dish together. The steak frites were alright but the amount of steak seemed a bit small. My dad was not particularly impressed with his chicken roulade, although he noted that the mashed potatoes were nicely buttery. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Flair and would return!

Wonderful place ! I will be sure to come back to try different dishes. I went to a birthday celebration and everything was excellent. The staff, the food, and ambience. I ordered the delicious Tomato Bisque, Asian Salad with Shrimp and omg the DELICIOUS Lava Cake with a cappuccino. 100 % recommended!

Final formal meal for me on this NC trip and what a way to go back home The food is amazingly flavorful and delicious! It is a fusion restaurant so it's American food blended with Asian food The ambiance has an upscale French cafe vibe and you can just go in and buy coffee if you wanted to and grab a scone or muffin so that is nice to have a casual coffee shop for a quick grab and go Great customer service all around! Friendly! The only thing that was a little on the annoying side is where I was seated I felt in the way not by the people coming and out but by the kitchen staff who kept coming by with carts in and out and I kept thinking why don't they go along a route where it's not busy but could be how they place is and there is no other route but I'm not going to knock it because it was really just this table location as I most of the other tables wouldn't have this issue But this place is really great!

    Short ribs over grits

My Mom and I were visiting my daughter at UNC and we wanted to find a great brunch spot that we all could enjoy. I searched a few places and Flair seemed to be the best option. We made reservations because we were unsure if they would be busy and we didn't want a long wait. When we arrived we were received with a warm welcome. The decor was clean and inviting. We were immediately seated at the location of our choice. Once seated our waiter came over shortly after to discuss specials. We all quickly decided on our meals. We ordered 2 kinds of quiche and the special, short ribs served over a bed of grits...and a beet salad. We also ordered pastries to go. There wasn't one complaint at our table. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely return to Flair.

Food: 4.5 Location: 5…read moreInside/seating :5 Service: 5 Overall value: 4 My spouse and I came here for lunch as we were in the area, and it was recommended. I had the BLTA sandwich with french fries and Dijonaise on the side and my spouse had the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito with home fries. We also each got different sodas from the cooler area. The total for two lunch entrées and two canned sodas was about $40. I feel like this is pretty high relatively speaking for a sandwich and fries, and a breakfast burrito and home fries + two canned sodas, which is why I gave the overall value a four. However, the breakfast burrito, home fries, and regular fries were AMAZING. Probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a really long time, and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. The sandwich I had was pretty good, but nothing super special, and definitely not worth $16. I didn't particularly care for the Dijonnais, but that's just personal preference and glad I had it on the side. The restaurant itself has ample parking and is easy to find. It has a lot of seating, as well as lounge type seating for the breakfast/café crew and people who might be coming to do a little bit of work. You order at the front and they give you a number and bring the food out to your table. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was clean. Overall, I would probably give this somewhere between a four and a five, but I do really love to support Local and I could tell this place probably makes a banging coffee drink and had delicious looking desserts, so I went with a 5. Unfortunately, we live between 35 and 40 minutes away, so we likely won't return, but if we find ourselves in that area of Chapel Hill, I would consider stopping in for another breakfast burrito!

When I order a box, I order it plain and then add my own fixings at home. My box creations can make up to three meals. I've begun adding my own fixings to their biscuits too. I'm pleased with Rise's pricing, regular coupon offers for loyalty members, and a reward point system that's easy to track. They've recently sent out coupons in those coupon clipper mailers and I found they carry great value. This Rise location (like their location in Chapel Hill) caters primarily to takeout clients. There are some bar tables and outdoor patio seats if you want to eat on site. I'm a takeout client myself (as I hinted above) and prefer building on top of what I order. Rise's biscuits can't be beat. They are flaky, fluffy, and reheat well. My tips for reheating: - Microwave: Lightly sprinkle water on the open faces of your biscuit (not the hard crust) and cover before microwaving. - Air fryer: Use the "Reheat" setting and reheat your biscuit at 325º for 4-5 minutes.

It had a name written on a board outside, and I wish I could remember because I would order it again. Then I tried the Pulpo Al Pastor Taco (they had me at octopus). It came with 2 tacos and a side of maduros aka yellow fried plantains. It did catch me by surprise when the maduros came with a crema on top. I've never had it like that and to my surprise it was good. Also, the Quesadilla Fajita which comes with a side of yellow rice. Food was sooo good. It was very busy this day but service was phenomenal. There's an indoor seating area with a bar but we sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful day. Definitely will be back.

I had the tlayuda, which initially was a bit too hard to eat, but when I reheated it, it softened the tortilla and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also got the less traditional Crunchwrap with chicken, and that was superb. I picked up my food to-go, so I can't speak much to the ambiance. However, with regard to the service, they began making the food when we came to pick it up (when it should have been ready 25 min earlier). At least it was fresh? But it sucked to have to wait 20 more minutes to be ready when we had ordered it to go. Docking a star for the wait time for a pick up order, but maybe I would feel differently had I eaten there in person.

We remembered her from a previous visit, and will request her in the future. Cocktails and mocktails were excellent, as was the sparkling wine enjoyed by one of our party of six. We were surprised and delighted to see foie gras on the menu, and it was perfectly prepared, with an accompaniment of blackberry jam. The lamb belly entree was very rich, but cooked perfectly. The vegetarian plate was beautiful and delicious. Celeriac soup and beet salad were both terrific, and the barbecued shrimp were spiced perfectly. Our only letdown was dessert - only one of the 3 options appealed, so we ordered 3 of those (key lime semifreddo) and found them to be beautifully sweet/tart. We'll be back.

Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of the menu before we ordered. I decided to start with the Cheese Plate, which included 3 different cheeses, buttered baguette slices, jam, mustard, and pickles. I enjoy cheese plates, and this one was great, but I can understand it may not be for everyone. My wife ordered the Red Fish, which had a more Southeast Asian-inspired twist to it. It came over rice and pickled onions and beets, and the flavors were a blend of lemongrass and coconut. The fish was cooked well - nice and tender, not too dry - and the flavors went well together. I ordered the New York Strip, which was delicious - the meat was well cooked, had great flavor, and was a generous portion that was very filling. The only gripe I had was that the char on the eggplant overwhelmed the flavor, so most of what I ate tasted like burnt eggplant. The place is clean and fairly laid back for a more upscale restaurant. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant in Chapel Hill where you might spend a little more, but you'll get great service with interesting food options / combinations, then look no further than Hawthorne & Wood.
