Visited this place a few weeks ago when I was in Nashville for the weekend. I was pretty impressed with all the menu options but went simple with eggs, sausage, and hash browns, with an English muffin. The coffee was amazing, I'm not sure what blend they use, but I had 3 mugs of coffee (and I usually only have one cup a day!). The food came out quickly and I easily inhaled the eggs and sausage. Not so much on the hash browns but I can be particular about those. Pretty hard to mess up English muffins, so I gobbled those up too. Service was great, place was clean, and there seemed to be decent social distancing though a lot of folks were maskless. Hoping I will go back to Flat Tire next time I visit Nashville/Old Hickory. read more

It's wonderful to have such a wholesome establishment added to the neighborhood. Great service and really awesome food! The pancakes here are everything and satisfied my breakfast craving in the middle of the day. Good potion sizes as well. I appreciate that they kept tables well spaced out. I'd seen the reviews about their cinnamon rolls but I took mine to go because I was so full! The menu here was more extensive than I had expected. And the items are reasonably priced. My wife and I had breakfast at Flat Tire this morning. Wow! Everything was amazing! Great food and great service! I had scrambled eggs, pork sausage patties, hash browns, freshly baked white bread with strawberry preserves and coffee. Every single item mentioned was so good! I've eaten at Flat Tire a few times. Went there today and saw Jersey Oven bagels on the menu. I eat Jersey Oven often and know a fresh bagel when I eat one. I asked the server how fresh are their bagels, she said fresh they are delivered every day. I beg to differ, the bagel she brought me was at least 3 days old. Wife and I in town for the Grand Ole Opry. Looking for a true local place to eat. Settled on the Flat Tire Diner. We could have not found a better place for breakfast or lunch! Food was great! Served hot and quickly, we both had omelets, hash browns and toast. Service was great and server took great care of the needs of the table. Ok this please it pretty good. I came here with my kids and I couldn't be all Yelpy and take pictures but I will definitely come back and try different things and make sure I take pictures. I had the Zoni Omelet but I had it with bacon, I wasn't too sure about the beef machaca. I would try it next time with it just to give it a try but it didn't sound like something I wanted that day. The pancakes were tasty and also the hash brown. I would say definitely they are not a portion giver. The plate was small and that's what made it look like there was a lot of food but not really. I did expect more food as it was a dinner in Hermitage (East Nash please stay there, lol). I was expecting more hash browns to be honest but oh well. Our waitress was super nice and friendly, also very understanding as I brought my kids with me and they were a bit all over the place . We saw the Flat Tire Diner spot on the Tennessee Crossroads segment on NPT television last night. Since it was my husbands birthday, I told him we should try this place out! We got there around 12:15 and it was packed but only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Fast & Friendly service. Everyone was busy, but not too busy to stop and talk and make sure we had everything we needed. The menu is full of delicious food choices all made from scratch. We had the Vegie Melt and Patty Melt. Both were yummy! They serve breakfast all day. Next time we go, I'm going to explore their breakfast specialities. We are so glad we found the Flat Tire Diner. It may be our new favorite! read more

We've been here about three or four times on the weekends, and I love it. My only negative is that you have to put your name in, and they don't take your number down or give you a wait time. They say how many tables are ahead of you and thats it. You have to wait inside or outside for your name to be called, which makes it difficult if you have a large party or children with you. Parking can also be a little tricky if it's busy. (Not as bad as Nadeen's, though!) The waiters/waitresses are all great that we have had, very attentive, and friendly. I love their fresh cinnamon rolls, and usually, I'm not too fond of cream cheese frosting, but I like it on the cinnamon rolls here. The wait is insane but usually you get seated prior to stated time, just depends on the day. The waitress was very kind and patient as it was our first time here. We went here after going to the Andrew Jackson Hermitage. It is fairly close by. We got there about 1:30 and the place was busy. When we went in we were seated right away. My wife ordered the chicken salad with vinaigrette balsamic dressing and I had the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with the side Caesar salad. The food was amazing in every way. Her salad looked different after she put the Frey on but the taste was perfect. My sandwich was really good and if I had known the Caesar salad was going to be that good I would have just ordered that. I can recommend this restaurant for lunch. They close at 3:00 pm read more

Chose it for the good reviews and because I'd never been there. First they put me at a table when there were clearly booths open. I guess they were reserving them hoping for larger parties. That makes sense but I was still very uneasy sitting in the middle of the room with everyone moving close around me. I should've left right then. I was admonished for trying to take photos for my reviews too. First time anyone has ever said anything about it. I wanted to tell her that I am perfectly within my legal rights taking photos in a public space AND show her my 8.7 MILLION views on my photos. I was afraid I'd get a booger on my food so I kept my mouth shut. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly. If you order eggs that way then you know how hard it can be to get eggs that aren't scorched or look like runny snot. The chicken fried steak was not to my liking either but I'll give them a pass on that one. I don't care much for fried food so I'm not sure why I ordered that other than it was marked as a chef specialty. There were plenty of other options I could have chosen. On the recommendations of Yelp users, we went to the diner Saturday morning. It was very busy however we were seated right away. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. This is one of my favorite little diners. The staff is always friendly, the food is delicious, and the diner atmosphere is spot on. Try the pastrami. I need to try the rest of the menu. But, the French toast was incredible, burgers are great, BLT was huge, and the hash browns make a great side. My favorite thought, is the Pastrami eggs Benedict. Try it. Oh.My.Gosh! Y'all, you NEED to stop in the Flat Tire Diner! My husband and I tried it for breakfast, and it was so good we went back two days later for brunch. I got the pork chop with caramelized onions and apple smoked bacon bits topping with a side of hash browns. My husband ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and a health nut muffin. Absolutely the BEST hash browns in TN. The owners make their own muffins and churn their own butter. The breads and biscuits are also handmade. My husband raved about the sausage, and the pork chop was tender and very flavorful. When we had brunch on our second trip there, my husband ordered the same items. I ordered the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) with a garlic spread. The fresh baked bread was light and set off the contents wonderfully. The garlic spread made all the difference, in my opinion. I had a garden salad with fresh Italian dressing, accompanied by an Arnold Palmer. The offerings on the menu are varied and we look forward to trying them all. The service is friendly and good, and it's fun to ask about how the diner got its name. Sat there for 20 minutes before getting our drink orders taken. Meanwhile, we were the only group there. When we got our food there was a hair in the hash browns and black stuff in our orange juice. Decent food options and a much shorter wait time for weekend brunch. FOR EACH GOOD FOOD THERE'S A NOT SO GOOD FOOD. The menu had a lot of choices, and even the display case up front had some good looking baked goods. We opted for eggs which were alright. The fruit cup blueberries tasted terrible, like they had been sitting in a cleaning solution. The hashbrowns were well cooked. But the English muffin had so much butter it was inedible. The parking lot was fairly big and we didn't have a problem getting a spot. Even a foodie like me likes a good diner. Flat Tire is a good one. I had the butter milk pancakes with sausage. My wife had the pastrami hash with scrambled eggs and biscuit with sausage gravy. I get to sample hers as well. The portions are more than enough. Service was always attentive. The biscuits and gravy were really good. The pastrami hash was good too. The pancakes themselves were good. My only criticism is that they need a better quality syrup. I understand wanting to keep food costs down but that not where you want to skimp.
