Ok, love this place, it's going to be a 5 Star on the service alone. Greeted as soon as we walked into the place. We waited for about 5 minutes to get a seat. but they have chairs to sit on while waiting. We were seated and our waitress came to our table with a big old smile. I said Well, you must be having a good day. She said, that although they were a little shorthanded, she just liked to enjoy the quests and make sure everything is good. Great news. We all ordered our food but just had to share a cinnamon roll to start off our breakfast and enjoyed it throughout our breakfasts. Our drinks were refilled as needed and our waitress checked in on us the whole time. This place to me, is what a southern breakfast place should be. Okay, so it's located in a strip mall. Don't let that hold you back--inside it's a diner from start to finish. IYKYK. The 'flat tire' theme is subtle, but clever. Cute place! We had the pork chop breakfast and a bene, and both were delicious. My pork chop had an apple/onion sauce on top--wow. Hash browns were perfect. The hollandaise in the bene was delicious. My brother has been looking for a good diner for breakfast. A hole in the wall shall we say. He read an article about Flat Tire Diner and one Sunday post church we went! 5 of us total, 3 adults and my twin toddlers. The wait was maybe 15-20 minutes as we needed a larger table. The staff was awesome! No crayons for coloring so they daringly gave my toddlers pens. The food came out fast and was so delicious! We had a few omelets and the kids had pancakes. The hashbrowns were *chefs kiss* freaking perfect. Such a great experience! We will definitely be returning. read more

First stop after a red eye flight was Flat Tire Diner. Highly rated and popular with the local folks. Ordered pork chop and eggs and country fried steak and eggs. Both were okay but nothing to rave about. Service was good and very friendly and kept the coffee warm. Ambiance was clean and airy and bright. The apple compote on my pork chop was a bit sweet and to cover up the dry, lean pork chop. read more

I met a friend at Flat Tire Diner the other day for lunch. I was hungry and in need of a good meal. I ordered an omelet with spinach, mushrooms and cheddar cheese with a side if sausage and rye toast. My companion ordered the Eggs Benedict. We sat in a booth and were served coffee while we waited. The service was fast and courteous. Our server was a pleasant young woman dressed for Halloween. Our food came and it was beautiful. My breakfast was delicious. The omelette was made with at least 4 eggs, it was huge and it had plenty of the fixings inside. The sausage patties were delicious, and the homemade rye bread was perfection. I ate every last bit off the plate, my friend was only able to eat one of the eggs benedict offerings and took the second home. I loved everything about the Flat tire Diner. I highly recommend this place for a great meal. I am not sure how much the bill was as my companion picked up the check. Worth the price whatever the price. read more

Spacious, clean, great menu, great service; even a bakery! Did I mention, clean? Whether you like a booth, a table, or prefer sitting at the counter trucker-style like I do, you'll have to check 'em out if you're ever near Old Hickory TN just East of Nashville! We flew into Nashville last Sunday morning and we found Flat Tire Diner on Yelp. We waited maybe 15 min to be seated and our server was Flora and she was just wonderful. Even if the food wasn't good, we would go back just for Flora. Great news though, the food is also really really good. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast with eggs and hash browns ($14.95). The Chicken Fried Steak hung off the edge of the plate, it was nicely crisped on the outside and perfect on the inside. The hash browns were shredded and perfectly crisp and moist at the same time. We also ordered a Breakfast skillet with eggs, hash browns peppers and onions ($8.95). Omelet ($8.95)with bell peppers and onions and cheese. We also ordered a lemon cookie that looked like a rainbow. This cookie was so tasty and we would order this again. This restaurant is pretty large with only indoor seating. We highly recommend a visit if you are in town. read more

Great service and food! Pulled and it was very crowded so I expected a long wait. They told us 20-25 minutes and it was very close to that time. While waiting we discovered the bakery. They had some amazing things. I would return for just the bakery or to eat in. The crunch French toast was amazing. I ordered crispy bacon that I think the kitchen forgot and definitely was not crispy but because the server was so nice and they were slammed I did not even say anything about it. Excellent food, friendly service, and a clean restaurant. My daughter said it best when she noted that our hamburgers actually looked like what you would see advertised, unlike the smashed down burgers you get at other chain places. The diner itself brought me back to my childhood in the 70's and 80's when my family would frequent places like this all the time. I've actually missed this vibe and began to reminisce with my family about the earlier years. My only gripe is with the amount of onion rings that came with my wife's lunch as there really could have been a bit more with her meal. The amount of fries I received was adequate for my meal though my fat appetite wanted more -- that was my gluttonous issue and not the diner's fault. Again, this is a great find and I hope to find the time to eat there again soon. read more

A bunch of my coworkers wanted to meet up here for breakfast one day. I like that name, let's do it. I get inside and immediately think, this place is busy and I bet all of the food came out of the freezer or a can. I was right about one of those things. It was indeed busy. However, the food is from scratch and it is very well made, and priced right. I prejudged this place because most country cooking spots end up being nothing more than premade frozen beef patties for burgers, frozen country fried steak, canned sausage gravy, and in general they cut as many corners as they possibly can. NOT Flat Tire. This place is awesome and it's old school, like grandma (not mine, she couldn't cook to save her life. God rest her soul) used to make. You will be happy if you want your food made from scratch and for taste to be above any other expectation. Also, if you are a quantity before quantity person, you will also be very happy as the portions are on point. I think this place has food to make literally anyone happy. Maybe not vegans, but I'm not looking for vegan nonsense. So they may have had vegan nonsense on the menu, and I just didn't see it. Go here. Eat. Tip well because the waitstaff is amazing. And be happy. The ambiance doesn't matter here. But Yelp wanted me to talk about the ambiance. read more

We were looking for something quick and fresh after visiting the hermitage on a hot day... this place had exactly what each person in our fam of 5 wanted (crispy French toast, BLTA, Caesar salad and kiddie cheeseburger). I had the beef machaca salad and it was perfectly portioned and delicious! So much tastier than your typical taco salad and everything was reasonably priced. Our gang of six arrived for Sunday breakfast, and lucky to secure one of Flat Tire Diner's larger tables. It was our first visit, and delighted with food and service. We met co-owner Cheryl Mead who looks over the front of the house, and pitches in when crowded. Pluses: * A diner in Middle Tennessee...something we don't see. * The pastrami is made from whole brisket, and locally smoked. I ordered the Tommy's Pastrami with hash and fried eggs (see pic) * Sourdough toast with homemade jam. Yummy * Quality coffee, and regularly topped off. Taste says to me probably 100% Arabica. * Kitchen operation is open to see your food prepared to order * Freshly squeezed orange ordered by most tables including family size also available for whole table * Staff continue to wear COVID masks as of end of May 2021. * Overall, good value, fresh food, and generous portion sizes Don't be discouraged by the plain decor.  It works. I've eaten at Flat Tire a few times. Went there today and saw Jersey Oven bagels on the menu. I eat Jersey Oven often and know a fresh bagel when I eat one. I asked the server how fresh are their bagels, she said fresh they are delivered every day. I beg to differ, the bagel she brought me was at least 3 days old. Wife and I in town for the Grand Ole Opry. Looking for a true local place to eat. Settled on the Flat Tire Diner. We could have not found a better place for breakfast or lunch! Food was great!
