I had heard everyone raving about Flat Tire Diner that recently opened in Hermitage so I called my bestie and said let's go get breakfast! I didn't realize that it was going to complete every craving I had been having for diner breakfast food! We walked in the door and noticed that they were being very careful with COVID restrictions, wearing masks, limited seating, and hand sanitizer available. I felt like I could enjoy my breakfasts without worry. There was a pastry counter at the front filled with muffins and pies. My bestie had an orange cranberry muffin because she can never say no to those. She also had the Cash's fried steak which she said was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our waiter was super nice and got our order perfect. He regularly checked on us and made sure that we had everything we needed. We were able to order quickly and had our food after a short wait. The wait staff as well as kitchen staff seemed happy to be there and ready to serve the community well. Their menu was filled with Diner favorites and some items I hadn't tried before so I look forward to going back to try more! For the kiddos and the adults who are kid welt heart the back of the menu was filled with fun games to stay occupied! It was nice to see a local spot be able to open and thrive during the pandemic with community support. Both of us walked out of their completely full and saying that we were for sure going to return. Don't forget to support your local favorite spots! Especially now they are having a difficult time with the pandemic. Many of them have had to make extreme changes so that they can continue operating. Best French toast on the planet. The place is packed but the wait time wasn't very long at all. Bacon is cooked just like we like it to be...not burnt but crispy! Coffee is good and our waitress was always coming around with refills...never had to flag her down for anything. Our first trip here was in October 2022 and we said we would definitely come back to this place if we were ever in Nashville again. The place was packed but we were seated immediately. Our server was great the atmosphere was great, open kitchen area to watch them work, and service was quick. I saw the Hawaiian pork chop sandwich and couldn't pass it up. I got the sandwich with fries and it was everything I thought it would be. Juicy pork chop sweet pineapple and great toasted bun. I absolutely love everything about this place! This is our go to for Sunday brunch! (Get there early to avoid a long wait!). The crab cake Benedict is awesome! I was hesitant to order crab cakes for breakfast but flat tire diner does it well & it's so tasty & savory that it just works! We also enjoy the seasonal veggie omelet! This is such a unique dish with rotating veggies instead of the standard peppers & onions! We also love the cinnamon roll its massive and to die for! I also love that the cinnamon roll is an option for a side! Service is always really great! My only complaint is that on a busy day there's not enough waiting space inside & no where to sit outside! I love this diner with a twist. It looks like a diner, but the food is not good, the food is great, and the servers are even better! We had the Eggs Benedict and the Cali Omlet. Both were tasty and filling. The coffee was good, and the cup kept full. The best part was when I said, "No bread, I can't eat wheat." My server suggested a gluten-free nut muffin with an upcharge. I really, really liked this establishment! The server was super friendly and sat down to talk with me a couple times in between her very busy waiting on tables. I couldn't believe how fast my breakfast came out and it was so good. They make it from scratch! The cornflake French toast on their homemade bread was amazing!!! I also loved their coffee. It's their own brand and the beans are roasted locally. I am picky about my coffee and often find Starbucks too bitter or old tasting. Their coffee was perfect! No cream or sugar needed. Hidden gem! I went to bed last night knowing that in the morning I was going to escape the family and have a couple of hours for just myself. This place came up on the area google search for breakfast. When you walk in there is definitely the family dinner presence, which appeased me because my challenge was to try something new that was not part of the large restaurants chain. This place met my expectations. It was not too small for my comfort but large enough to not feel "on top" of anyone. The only thing I would suggest regarding the atmosphere is to have more guests that look like me (melanated). I understand it's not the place fault, but I was definitely the minority in the place. I will definitely tell my friends and family of the hidden jewel. Lexi was my server and immediately made me feel welcomed with her smile and her attentiveness to my needs. What can I say - everything was good and met my expectations. The caramelized bacon was TRULY caramelized, You can taste the process. The Pork Chop was tender. The portion size was good; and I'm a woman that can eat. I ate half of everything and took the rest home to the family. Again, because of Yelp, I wanted the cinnamon roll as an up charge. It was worth it. I could taste the homemade process. The butter icing is dolloped on top to melt down into the crevices of the cinnamon filled roll. Yes it was sexy good! I had to share with my food enthusiast at home! To top off the experiences already shared, my bill was only 23 bucks!! I got extra side of sausage Patty, coffee, and the up-charge for the roll I expected closer to 30 bucks because I didn't look at the prices, but when the bill came, I immediately knew I'd bring the family. It must have been an off day. 12:30 on a Tuesday me, my wife , and my mom went because of the great reviews. Waited a few minutes and greeted twice. After they were cleaned we had a choice of table or booth and chose the booth. Wife ordered tea, mom water, and i got lemonade. Delivered in a timely manner. 1. out of pastrami - no Reuben. 2. Out of soup. Wife ordered a veggie sandwich and side salad (lettuce, sliced cheese, and Caesar dressing). Mom ordered grilled ham and cheese with fries. I ordered french dip with fries. My wife ate most of her sandwich and Mom liked her sandwich. My french dip was served on a dry roll. Not warmed, toasted, or grilled. It was nothing but roast beef on a bun - Bland. I dipped in the au jus. Fries were gross - limp and not even warm. We mentioned this to our server and got hot fries quickly - this time. Very good hand cut fries. Food was ok. Service was good.
