We came across flavorz on Instagram and hunted them down in echo park. Food is bomb! I got a chicken and shrimp quesadilla & my bf got the sisig plate with an egg. We also tried some yummy dessert - bananas, pudding and Nutella. We'll definitely be coming back.

I never really ate sisig until I came upon this truck! Sisig is so flavorful, and the sauce they use is so bomb! I still need to try the other items! A MUST TRY! The staff is very friendly too!

The best asada garlic noodles and rice. Everyone needs to try this. It should be a crime if you don't.

Literally the best food truck in Weho, not even close. Normally near the best club in the city. A little pricey but worth it

Something you don't experience anywhere else! Amazing service. Received a lot of great recommendation! Love the place, nice and cozy spot. Dim lighting for the outdoor seating

Raw marinated prawns- comes in a kimchi marinade with the fried shrimp head on the side - good and fresh, make sure to eat the head while it's hot! Ricotta, jam, and chili crunch bing- could have done without this. Almost like naan with dip. Nothing special about it. Smoked fish dip- our server pushed us toward the little gem salad but we decided on this instead. We thought from previous pictures it came with roe on top. It did not. The dip itself was good but the chips were not fresh and crunchy and kinda chewy and stale. Would not order again. Mushroom crispy rice- for $48 this was good, but I think could have been done a lot better. I found it too salty. Shiitake mushroom normally has an almost sweet, umami flavor. The mushroom was cut too small and the salt was too overwhelming to let any of the original flavor shine. I was sad when the server broke and mixed the sauce and crispy rice for us because the crisp was lost within the first few minutes. Without the crisp this just becomes an overly salty rice dish. Ribeye- the best! Cooked well, Garlic confit to spread on each piece of meat, and a perfectly light tart bearnaise sauce on the side to balance. Would order this again. Dessert- Choco pot de creme- loved that the chocolate mousse was a little spicy. Felt the cream on top and mousse on top tasted good individually but made no sense together. Service was great until the end when we sat with empty plates and untouched food for quite a bit but our server walked by us several times busy doing closing side work before we were able to ask for the check and some boxes. Ambiance is chic Asian fusion. Mitsi is across the way if you wanted to grab a drink. Overall I'd come back but would probably order different things. I've heard the pork is good.

It's a typical sized place for a restaurant on First St. (I.e. small & narrow). They do make use of every space though. Parking is...Little Tokyo...sigh. IF you're lucky enough to get street parking, go buy a lotto ticket on your way home. Parking structures near by. We shared: Agedashi eggplant: Japanese eggplant beautifully "fan" sliced. Dashi was VERY good. Generous amount of grated daikon. Assort. Tempura: Saw this being served while waiting. Looked really good and it WAS! Large shiitake mushroom. Fan cut Japanese eggplant, kabocha pumpkin, shrimp tempura & two (2) shiso leaves. All VERY crisp not oily. Warm dashi side had deep umami rich flavor. Probably made the legit kombu & bonita flake method. #1 ordered the Miso carbonara: garlicky carbonara served with their signature house-rolled out udon. Wonderful dish. Portion sizes were adequate. #2 ordered the Uni carbonara: same garlicky carbonara with uni bits strewn about. Estimating one whole uni broken. This actually works for ease of eating. Plus, uni ranges in the $18/oz on the low end to $60 or more/oz on the higher end. Yes we love & appreciate their gonads. Udon noodles were chewy, bouncy & worth the wait. Yeah yeah....the dough is purchased. Not house made. But, seriously you've seen the YouTube videos of restaurants specializing in Japan? Yes there are places in LA who make their dough & roll it out. It's Hella lot of work! Yamachan produces large scale udon/ramen in San Jose. It's fine. Let them work out the dough to water ratio. Also portion size was decent since we shared a couple apps. Might want to consider the option of extra noodles. The table to our right full of younger male co-workers were there to socialize. They probably all grabbed an afternoon snack. Was it worth the 30-40 min wait? ABSOLUTELY! Michelle 2025 Star. Yes it's worth the wait even with the sucky parking. Got so excited forgot to take photos of our udon. That's ok. Just take a look at the 3,000 photos.

The classics like Niki Udon, Kitsune Udon, and Curry Udon are incredible staples that stand the test of time and simply hold their own. But if there's any restaurant to enjoy the classics and dip into a little fusion cuisine, THIS is a place you should add to your bucket list. Their creamy mushroom udon is phenomenal. Mushrooms are delicately seasoned and cooked correctly, the texture of the noodles have a perfect bounce/chew to them, and that cream sauce? Addicting. This place has this distinct homey comfort type of vibe to it. The restaurant's decorations aren't too over the top. Most importantly, it's such a clean establishment. In my experience, the servers here are a bit soft-spoken. But they're polite and very knowledgeable about the menu. I look forward to trying more dishes off the menu!

Sampa is located in the Arts District near the intersection of S Hewitt St and E 5th right next to Urth Cafe. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant but you can also park around the corner by Arts District Park for $5. If it's your first time visiting Sampa, you have to be open minded towards the concept itself. Yes, the dishes here are smaller in portion and costs more than your typical fast casual spot. All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. You don't have to be Filipino to appreciate what Sampa is doing for the culture, just come by and see for yourself.
