From my two experiences here, I can understand why they have a high rating on Yelp. The staff here are friendly and their food is not only fresh, but tastes good. The first time I came, I bought all of the pastries and desserts that were known to be their most popular items. The second time I came with my friend and we ordered other cakes and pastries. Although all the food was great, I actually liked the cakes and pastries we ordered the second time around more, especially the pastry that had passion fruit in it. My husband and I were in search of a quick bite to eat and found this little bakery shoppe in downtown Los Gatos. We ordered a croissant, a peach pastry and a latte. There was limited seating indoors especially as it was a warm day and everyone wanted to stay indoors where it was nice and cool but they did have outdoor seating, although it was not very well maintained while we were there. We were able to move indoors as I kept my eyes on the inside (I couldn't handle too much heat, I was 8 months pregnant at the time!) The pastries themselves were delicious and had a nice texture to the croissant. The peach flavor really came out which paired nicely with the latte I ordered. I do wish they had more options for decaf available, but I can have caffeine now so it doesn't affect me too much. Besides an array of pastries they have amazing tantalizing cakes on display...I will definitely keep them in mind if I want a specialty cake in the future! read more

All were very good and our favorite is the royal - we love the hazelnut flavor and the crispy stuff that are in it. i'm sure the quality and ingredients are the reasons why it is so expensive but honestly i think this is a one time splurge for me. for $10+ the slice of cake is really small. And what made it worse was that prior to visiting Fleur de Cocoa, I bought myself an italian sandwich for the same price. so in comparison, i would rather use my money on a sandwich than a small piece of pastry. read more

The actual product (chocolate orange person al serving didn't match the image of the product posted on website) Service was alright, not very friendly. In need of a sweet treat we stoped here on our way back from Santa Cruz. A quaint little shop, we were greeted by a kind young woman who graciously watched as we drooled at all of the delights. I settled on a raspberry chocolate mousse thing that left my tastebuds tingling. My wife picked a chocolate mousse with an orange liquor. We picked out a blackberry chocolate thing for my mother. This coffee shop and bakery is in my opinion the top go to place for European and French style pastries. They simply have an immense choice of options some rarely found in the United States. Their coffee choice is excellent and very much in the French style, not too sweet and just right. They also have a nice selection of other hot and cold drinks including teas and spritzers. Besides being a bakery (and their cakes are beautiful, rivaled by only a few other places I know) they also sell chocolates (try the dark chocolate Mendicant's!) with a selection to satisfy most any refined taste. If you're looking for something savory, they almost certainly have the most delicious quiches I have found in San Jose, perfectly moist and delicate to the tongue. There are also other breakfast croissant-based sandwiches which are very worthy. And a great granola as well! And don't forget to try the canelle and macaroons . First time we stepped into the cafe. It's nestled in between other stores and could be easy to miss. It's right across the street from Manresa Bakery. The pastries looked incredible and delicious. Stopped by this place on a whim. They're a normal gluten pastry shop but they have an impressive number of gluten free options clearly marked. This is very rare for a patisserie! I ended up choosing the mango pastry. It was called passionate kiss or something like that. It was so yummy! Perfect balance of sweet & tart with a variety of textures including fresh mango pieces inside and some chocolate on top. The only thing that would've made it taste better is if it was served colder. I saved half of it in the fridge to enjoy later at the right temperature. Ultimately I can't give them 5 stars because with tax it was $12 for one very small dessert. Definitely getting hit with that Los Gatos tax. I can't imagine prices being that high 10 mins away in San Jose. My family was overjoyed with the quality of my husband's birthday cake, It was a carrot cake, made to order, exceeding expectations. Came by for some pastries the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking is available in the street or on surface lots around the pastry shop. Some workers wore gloves and some also wore masks. Some of the staff spoke French too! The plain croissant was merely mediocre, it was rather chewy and wasn't fluffy enough, like the croissants in Paris! The mille feuille pastry was decent with custard that wasn't too sweet along with crispy flaky layers. The top layer of frosting was pretty sweet though. The chocolate dessert with chocolate mousse on the inside along with a thin slice of brandy soaked cake was tasty, although a touch on the sweet side. The dark chocolates were excellent at $3 or so a piece. The shell was crispy and the interiors were fragrant! Pastries were $10 or so each and croissant was $3-4 They take credit cards and also have a few tables inside the cafe to dine in! They also have an espresso machine for drinks too! read more

These pastries are EXPENSIVE!!! But I'm also disappointed in the customer service. I bought two little dessert cake things from here. They were beautiful and looked delicious. They were also over $10 each for tiny little things. Unfortunately, I wasn't told that they needed to be kept in the refrigerator. Normally when I go to a bakery and make a purchase, I'm told that certain things need to be refrigerated if they aren't going to be consumed right away. I tried to go back but the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude and made me feel dumb. She said things like, "All of these are in a refrigerator, how did you not know? In the past ten years, I've never had a customer who didn't know that it needed to be refrigerated." Wow. So rude and inconsiderate. I'm just a customer who looks at things that are in a display case. I have no idea if it's refrigerated or not unless it's labeled. I will not be back. I was craving dessert on a rainy day and searched for a local dessert spot and found Fleur de Cocoa locally. The location is in downtown Los Gatos with off-street parking. My husband and I came in at around 5 pm and many of the desserts were gone with only a limited few items; surprised as it was a rainy day that day and it was not near closing hours. The desserts we picked out were: chocolate seduction, tiramisu, and the flan. We decided to take our desserts home - the presentation and packaging of the desserts were visually aesthetic. Taste: All of the desserts were very good quality and tasteful without being too sweet. Price: higher end ranging from $7-10 Highly recommend it if you happen to have a sweet tooth or want to go on a nice date and stroll through downtown Los Gatos. Keep in mind to come in at an earlier time as some desserts seem to be limited depending on the time of the day. I'll definitely come back to try different items in the future. read more

Our family has been loyal customers of this bakery for years, visiting weekly. Recently, they introduced Dubai-style chocolate bars, which were initially well-made and fairly priced. However, since January, the price has skyrocketed--jumping by $4 in just two weeks. But that's not even the biggest issue. What truly pushed me to write this review is the complete absence of pistachio cream in these bars, which is a key ingredient in this type of dessert. This isn't a one-time mistake--we bought three bars at $28 each, and instead of pistachio cream, they were filled with a mix of kadaif dough, white chocolate, and an overwhelming amount of sugar. That's it. This is beyond disappointing. I really hope this bakery isn't prioritizing profit over quality. In the meantime, I'd recommend skipping these overpriced bars. For context, Whole Foods sells an 8 oz bag of high-quality pistachios for $8-$10. With some chocolate molds, you could make a far superior version yourself for a fraction of the cost. read more
