A gem! The menu is exteeeensive, which is fabulous. Service was quick, easy and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wouldn't say it's an actual storefront; but, it's attached to a building and it's a to-go window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered: Black & white 10/10. Love the chocolate and vanilla pudding!! Chicken pot pie (fan fave) 10/10. I'm def not a chicken pot pie person. OH MAN. I have been changed for good So savory and the texture of the pie crust was chef's . Will be back.

This is my first time trying the pie at this bakery! I called earlier that day, hoping to pick up a guava pie to celebrate a pre-birthday treat for my bf. The person on the phone was so nice !! She was able to ask the kitchen to make a fresh one and told me it'll be ready in an hour. The pie has a nice crust and they definitely don't skimp out on the guava filings! The center of the pie may have too much filling, so it was a bit too soggy for my preference. Thus --* star. But overall, definitely will come back to explore other new flavors.

This bakery is simply amazing! The staff were friendly, the pastries were fresh and flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also loved how clean and well maintained everything looked[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], which made a great first impression. I'll definitely be stopping by again whenever I'm in the area.

We did a staycation last year and the pictures were buried in my food photo album. I forgot to write a review at time so the prices in the pictures are not current. The family is always on the lookout for good food, baked goods and desserts. Since we were down in the Peninsula, off we went to try out Sweetdragon Baking Company. We tried a Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Curry, Brown-sugar Peacharine and my son bought a Raspberry Mango which he said was really good and polished it off before I could take a picture...it must have been pretty good All of the 5" pies we bought were good and crust was flakey and not dry. I would have preferred a deeper chicken pot pie with more filling to be able to taste more of the ingredients and flavor. I love peaches and nectarines so I enjoyed my pie. My wife thought the chicken curry was good but loved the Raspberry Mango pie the best. For fresh pies take a group of friends and/or family, get a variety and have a tasting party. We don't go down to the peninsula a lot but if we do we will include a stop at Sweetdragon Baking Company.

Someone brought Sweetdragon's pie to a potluck and it was a hit so we decided to try their Working From Home Pack (4 small galletes) to sample their large variety of pies. I called Friday at opening (9am) to place my order if the 4 small galletes and was able to pick up at 3pm. We ordered: lemon cheesecake, POG, steak&stout, and chocolate pecan. Each had their unique flavors that brings out it's uniqueness. Love all the pies! These pies needed to be warmed up for 10-12minutes at 350F. We also tried their black sesame brittle cookies and snickerdoodle. Both delicious and perfectly made. Be sure check their website since some of their pies require time in advance to prepare. Parking is sufficient since it's shared parking lot. Since it's pick up there's plenty of spots. This place will replace our cakes when we do birthdays! Definitely will come back to try their other items!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a great spot!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small business, passionate talented friendly staff, delectable delicious pies. What more do you want? Go now and buy a lot! Highly recommend the chicken pot pie for savory and black and white for sweet.

Tried a mix of both sweet and savory pies and was seriously impressed. We ordered the lemon cheesecake, raspberry mango, black & white, and the chicken pot pie, and every one of them delivered. The crust was perfectly baked -- flaky with just the right amount of structure -- and the fillings were balanced and flavorful without being overly sweet or heavy. The chicken pot pie was especially comforting with a rich, savory filling. Portion sizes were just right, making them perfect for a personal treat or sharing. Quality, flavor, and execution were all spot on. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to whenever we're craving great pie.

They're a little pricey for the size but they really hit the spot! They're located in this unassuming spot on Lincoln avenue with a little window where you order. I've seen them have booths at some markets before too! But the workers are sweetie, just like their pastries. I enjoyed the savory ones a lot, and I'm keeping my eyes peeled to see what other flavors they offer next!

Savory and sweet pastries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hole in the wall hidden gem in the parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nice to support small business in the area. Need to go home and heat up even tho it's already cooked much better warm. Lots of parking. The banana pastry reminded me of banana bread I had in Hawaii.

Delectable galettes in a variety of flavors! I ordered two of the small pie sets and chose 4 savory and 4 sweet pies to sample the selection. So far, everything has been delicious and the crust is thin and flaky as it should be. Of the sweet pies, I think I liked the pineapple and the cherry best but really nothing to complain about any of them. Just get whatever sounds good to you and I'm sure it will be.

Picked up a couple savory 5 inch hand pies on a Saturday afternoon. The order process was easy, simply rang the bell, then paid, and the lady bagged and handed me my premade cold treats, took just 2-3 minutes. The cheddar bacon onion and chicken pot pie were outstanding after I toasted these at home. Flaky, buttery crusts reminiscent of some of my favorite empanadas. The fillings were made up of quality ingredients and had a very satisfying flavor. The only thing that could make this place better is if they offered to heat these up on site, so I could eat these yummy mini pies while on the go.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small corner lot of a place, looked a little iffy, but anyone knows that the best hole-in-the-wall places are exactly that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].. not knowing exactly what we were doing at the parking lot on a rainy day, my husband and I ordered the cherry galette with a side of orange shortbread cookies. It didn't disappoint! The cherry galette tasted like one of those home-run pies we had as a kid, but freshly made without the artificial sweeteners! Only wished it was warm.

I called in to see what their customer favorites were and you know it's good when they can't tell you which one! I placed an order over the phone with Margot and she was extremely nice. Pick up was also quick even when they had to warm up my pie, per my request. I literally just took a bite of the Steak & Stout I ordered and had to get on here right away to share how delicious it is. I also met Margot in person she gave me the same kindness as I was on the phone with her. No wonder they have been here for years! Would definitely come back again!

Ordering is also super easy with their touchscreen kiosks, which I always appreciate. The texture and flavor of their bingsu are on point. The ice is incredibly soft and fluffy with that melt-in-your-mouth consistency you want from a good bingsu. I ordered the mango, and every component was great--the mango was fresh, the toppings complemented everything well, and there was a good balance of fruit and sweetness without being overwhelming. My only small complaint is that I usually love getting both strawberry and mango bingsu, but they don't offer split flavors. Ordering two separate bingsu is just way too much, so I wish there were an option to do half and half. That minor gripe aside, the quality of the bingsu itself easily makes this a 5/5 for me. Great texture, fresh toppings, plenty of seating, and an easy ordering process. Definitely a spot I'd happily come back to whenever I'm craving bingsu!

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful. It is the kind of place where you can stop in for a quick dessert or stay a little longer while sharing a few different items with friends. Overall, Hui Lau Shan is a great spot for anyone looking for fresh, fruit-forward desserts with authentic Hong Kong flavors. The quality of the mangoes, the variety of textures, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a place I would happily return to whenever I was craving something refreshing.

The reviews for the drinks are very mixed, specially durian madness. so I was nervous to order it. I chose the milk tea instead . It had chunks of fruit and salted foam at the top. 25% sweetness, less ice was perfect!!! Also tried the hambalang milk tea. It was a good black milk tea with jelly. Nothing too unique. Durian crepes were light , had a good balance of durian and the whip cream .

I enjoyed my durian desserts. It was good, I'm not a fan of a lot of jellies in my drinks. I liked how it was made with coconut milk, durian, and jellies. I just would like my drink to be thicker and less jellies. But, it was still delicious. My sis ordered a Milo drink and wasn't a fan of it. My other sis got a strawberry matcha. She had no complaints. My mom enjoyed her taro dessert but wasn't a fan of the taro, durian, and salted egg. I thought it was overly sweet for my taste. We ordered extra drinks to offer to the monks (there were more than I expected)..oops! It was a warm day and we were all excited to be there. It was overall a great day and to have a place that was had unique Vietnamese drinks was a plus!

They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! The spot is also right off of 280 so it's pretty convenient.

My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
