Half cheese half pepperoni sausage pizza
    Kevin D.

Our neighbors had a bogo a few weeks ago & gave us their free cheese pizza from here, I enjoyed it, wife didn't care for it. Decided to place an order for ourselves, wife begrudgingly agrees. I was genuinely confused when I got home & opened the box...is this a normal amount of toppings for this place? Also ordered a dozen buffalo wings which were pretty soggy, good bite on the sauce though. However, no ranch? $60 meal & ranch is extra? Maybe they forgot to include it? Maybe the kid who made our pie while talking to his friend who was cussing really loudly on speaker phone forgot to add the appropriate amount of toppings? Idk. Probably only ever go to this spot if it's free again. Text book should've listened to my wife moment.

Ended up at Flippin Pizza tonight, honestly because Truly apparently ran out of pizza dough so were closed!!! We got a gluten free pizza which used cauliflower crust and it was quite good! My slice of cheese and pepperoni were okay. I think if I had ordered a whole pie it would have been more fresh, but slices get put back in the oven so it was a bit dry. We also got the meatballs and they were yum and cMe with ricotta. The bathroom was very clean and smelled good, and there is parking in a lot.

    Camping, surfing and pizza

I was looking for a pizza place close to Doheny state beach and found Flippin Pizza. I ordered ahead online and headed to the Albertsons nearby for camping snacks and beverages while I waited for my order. Service was great, and the person I assumed was the manager offered me a free drink while I waited! They have peppers, Parmesan, and napkins to grab on your way out. So I ordered an 18" half Bronx, and half Triboro, with ricotta cheese as an add on since I've been on a ricotta cheese kick lately. I also ordered lemon pepper wings. Everything was amazing! One slice was enough to get me full.. but since I technically ordered two kinds of pizzas, I had a few more bites extra of the other variety. The wings were exceptionally scrumptious. I like that they have small portions available (I ordered a 4 piece). Definitely coming back and looking forward to trying the garlic knotts next time.

Food was soo yummy :3 Service was amazing !! The wait was going to be 20 minutes (dine in) & the man (didn't get his name) offered me Garlic Knots for the wait , I didn't tell him but I hadn't eaten all day & I was starving , so that was very appreciative. & walking out I was offered cookies :3 Love them

Buffalo chicken pizza and pepperoni pizza.

Amazing New York style pizza!! Gave the kids lil cheese pizzas for them to make. Definitely worth the price.

I had a cheese calzone made fresh for me. It was do delicious and HUGE! It was so large that the cook sliced it up into three pieces for me. Paired with their marinara sauce = chef's kiss. The staff were friendly and served with a smile. This location was clean and had a chill vibe to stop in for lunch. Definitely returning to try more options!

I came here based on reviews, and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed how the pizza was thin crust, not too much bread. I also got the large Caesar salad and that was enough for two ppl. Service was good and quick. Will be returning again.

First and last time. Definitely nothing special to encourage to go out and try. Overpriced for a mediocre pizza. Salad was horrible. Nothing fresh about it and paid to have chicken added (plus extra chicken) which clearly was missed.

Waaay too much sauce. I ordered extra cheese so maybe they were trying to overcompensate??. Pepperoni had no flavor and crust was a 5 out of 10...Very disappointed. I am from New Jersey. Can't believe any NY or NJ person would give this place a good review.

    Not Italian or New York.

I don't think it goes well with the bowl. I'd rather have steamed broccoli or less charred broccoli with a fat like mayo or cheese based sauce Bok choy: this also doesn't go well as ginger overwhelms your palette and it takes a while to reset and taste things normally. I'd suggest changing it to soy bok choy sautéed in sesame oil. Combined with nomnivore rewards, it's still surprisingly great value for money (sweetgreen value territory or even better).

I've seen both locations busy plenty of times, but somehow convinced myself it was basically takeout only. And then I convinced myself that by the time I got the food home, it would be cold, imperfect, and I'd regret the whole thing. Turns out the only thing I regret is waiting this long. My wife and I finally ate there, and Nori (a kind and happy soul) took great care of us. She was awesome and suggested the steak sandwich. I'm glad I listened because this is easily one of the best steak sandwiches I've had--and I'm including some pretty serious Philly contenders in that statement. It starts with the bread. I don't know what they're doing to this bread, but it's ridiculously good. Honestly, they could probably put a DMV application between two pieces of it and I'd order it again. We also had the arugula salad with an amazing lemon dressing, which was excellent and provided the necessary illusion that we were making healthy choices. Bottom line: Guichos has apparently been serving great food right under my nose for years. There's a reason both locations are always busy. Everyone else figured it out. I was just driving by.

Today, on a Saturday at 12-ish, as a family of 4 we were able to get seated right away. Our server was attentive and offered/brought waters right away. We were seated inside which was open and spacious but loud enough to make it family friendly. The tables were far enough a part that you did not feel like you were on top of each other. Next time, we might ask to sit outside so our young boys can watch the cars drive by. We learned that the kitchen is nut free (always double check as this could change), which was amazing since our son has a severe nut allergy. He was so excited to learn this as he can be limited at other places due to cross contamination or the wrong oils. Then when the food came out and it was delicious - it sealed the deal. It is now in the top of our list of places to go. The kids cheeseburger is good size and not a smaller version as some places do. The chicken tenders were panko crusted which was so crunchy. My husband and I shared the smoked carrot and chicken tacos and we enjoyed them both. The beer was also very good with my husband and I each trying a different kind - an IPA and a Pale Ale. We are so glad we finally stopped in and so should you!

She was beyond classy and genuinely could not have been more hospitable. She was attentive, warm, polished, and made us feel incredibly welcome without ever being overbearing. The ambiance at Truly Pizza was great and the staff was super friendly. The open-air patio made us feel like we were in Europe. I'd heard reservations were needed, but we went without one and only waited five minutes to be seated. Our food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating with my two year old grandson. We also learned a bit of food history: although Caesar salad is often thought of as Italian, it was actually created in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1924 by Italian immigrant restaurateur Caesar Cardini. We ordered the pizza, choosing from three different crusts. I especially liked the square and sesame crusts. Our favorites were the sweet-and-spicy pizza and the Mike's Honey pizza, both had great flavor combinations. Dessert was a bit more hit-or-miss for me. I could have passed on the ice cream with olive oil. Something about the combination didn't quite work for me; it reminded me of eating a salad with ice cream. Overall, Truly Pizza was a fantastic experience, with a beautiful atmosphere, welcoming service, and excellent pizza. I'd definitely come back for the pizza and patio alone.
