Floralia offers total vegan experience for pizza, and I enjoyed the restaurant overall. There is outdoor and inside seating. The service was fine. Could have been a bit faster, but nothing out of the ordinary. The food was good. Pricey, but you expect for vegan and being in Honolulu. I did like seeing the oven and how they made the pizza. There was good char. Would recommend for vegans.
My favorite place ever!! I always order the Maestro (which isn't on the menu) with meatballs and it's incredible. It is on the pricier side but the portions are filling and I always have leftovers. Everything I have tried here tastes delicious including the cannoli's and Caesar salad. For to go orders I recommend calling ahead of time so that you don't have to wait a long for your order. If you decide to eat there it is a really nice outdoor space and picnic bench seating. You can see them baking your pizza which is a nice touch.
When it comes to that Ceasar Salad I have one word "WOAH" so creamy so crunchy so YUMMY and it doesn't hurt my tummy! Woohoo This is a really adorable place with a sort of outdoors upscale yet down to earth vibe they really nail the homey elegance. I came for a dinner with friends a party of three. My friend kept talking about this pizza place she went to a while back called "what it dough" that she couldn't find anymore; she said it was all vegan but was so good and she had started craving it as we were talking about some of our favorite vegan food memories. One day she sent me this place and said I think this is it and said she would know when we got there but doesn't remember the name being Floralia based off reviews I am assuming they made a name change at some point. My friend was very excited to show us the white pizza with the pesto base and additions she enjoyed last time. After trying to ask the waitress to help us find it she quickly recommended a pizza and my friend confirmed it would have the pesto as the base and she insisted it was that pizza. Unfortunately this was not the case and the pizza was the wrong pizza according to my friend (perhaps different chef who knows), the pesto was sprinkled in a few areas on top and the pizza didn't seemed cooked thoroughly in the middle which was the most disappointing part for me so we kind of at the outside. I also tried the tiramisu, it tasted like chocolate cake to me which is my least favorite cake flavor so it wasn't for me. I have since come back many times for the salad, even tried their new crowned Caesar salad (toppings weren't my fav) but I have yet to try another pizza because the first one was pretty disappointing. Looking forward to trying the pistachio cannoli someday soon.
My first vegan pizza. If you didn't know it was vegan you wouldn't know the difference. I started with a limoncello spritzer. It was a good size drink, refreshing and the price was very reasonable. The Cesar salad was huge enough for several people to share. Next time I would ask for the breadcrumbs on the side. They gave the salad a nice crunch but too much for me. The dressing was good. The pizza took awhile. I am amazed that they make all the ingredients. I ordered the Brooklyn because they were out of some ingredients for another pizza I wanted. My favorite topping was the almond milk ricotta. It was only me eating so I had lots of leftovers.
Sometimes vegan food tastes too....vegan. I've had my share of bad vegan pizza but that is not the case for Floralia. Pizza is a hard food to successfully veganize without making it too "vegany" tasting but I so appreciate that there is a place devoted to making high quality unique vegan pizza. We got the paradiso pizza, Caesar salad, and tiramisu. All very good, but not jaw dropping or life changing like I've seen others describe it. Tiramisu was a little too strong (alcohol?) flavor for me. I think it was a special and not on the regular menu. Service was very slow for us, it's the first time I've had to go find the server after not getting a drink order after 20 minutes. I think it was an off night because of a large party behind us. Ambiance is very nice. Setting is lovely and we found parking pretty easily. I would like to try the other options on the menu to see how they are and try a different dessert option.
I'm not a vegan or vegetarian and you don't have to be to enjoy this place. I ate here recently for the first time with some friends who highly endorsed this restaurant. It's in a pretty random area along kamakee street. Easily walkable from South Shore Marketplace if you can't find closer parking. It is decorated very cutely with string lights and fairy lights on the tree which surround their outdoor seating area. They also have indoor seating if you prefer. The brick pizza oven is outside. The caesar salad was great, a little heavy on the dressing but definitely tastes like a normal good caesar salad even though it's vegan! The white pizza with the ricotta was amazing and pro tip would be to add the mushrooms. It was my favorite of the 2 pizzas we ordered. We also tried the Brooklyn which has vegan meatball, tomato sauce, basil and again, the ricotta. Yum! The vegan meat easily disguises itself as real sausage. The ricotta is so good on my walk back to the parking I heavily considered researching if it's possible to buy a similar vegan ricotta just from the store. The crust is also top notch which strongly contributes to the quality of the pizza. Pricing is reasonable and service was great. Overall it's a place with a very chill vibe to enjoy good pizza- whether or not you're vegan.
Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... Searching our Yelp apps for a place that Irene and I both hadn't been to yet is challenging, but possible... haha! Floralia was an excellent choice with an interesting outdoor location. We parked right across the street from the entrance because we arrived before opening time. We got our choice of seats and were able to watch the pizza chef do his thing! I ordered a Marinara pizza with mushrooms and olives. Irene got the Margherita pizza with mushrooms. Both pizzas were simple goodness, served on a tier! Nice! We weren't able to finish, so our thoughtful server offered us takeout boxes. Thank you!
A cute, fun place with outdoor & indoor seating. You can see them cooking almost everything and the pizza stove too. Good service. This place is vegan. It was mostly full when we arrived so it has a local/visitor following; I was there on vacay. It is a little off the beaten path tho there are a handful of businesses nearby. A fairly short walk from the very far end of the beach. We got the garlic rolls, salad, 2 pizzas, and 1 cannoli dessert. The garlic rolls were a special & they said we think we still have some so they must sell out quick or it is a special. Also got the cannoli so each half was 2 diff flavors. Very nice they allowed us to do that. :)
Fully Planted oasis... This slightly hidden gem offer a complete plant based menu all tucked amongst the industrial area just right across from Hawai'i Gas so yes parking it the biggest challenge for this part of the area but if you come just before they open not only do you get the choice of seating but parking as well, as we had no problems finding one just steps away. I love the vibe here as it's in the midst of a busy city area yet under the trees and string lights are the setting for some yummy pizzas and more. Upon arrival we check in with the host (is where you can find the specials as well) though it is open seating and are able to choose your seat whether it's under the trees or inside the covered area which is where we chose to seat it's a great view of the pizza oven along with the sun that was about to set is a nice way to wind down your day. One of my favorites is any veggie pizza though it seems like many of the menu items are just a base start versus piling on some loaded toppings so I decided on the classic Margherita and added mushrooms and omg the simplistic flavors it had and how light and I could taste every single ingredient along with the chewy crust this pizza is quite generous at 12" and made a perfect late night snack as I couldn't finish it all but they had a box that fit a half pizza perfectly. Service is nice and friendly as she kept returning to check on us always keeping our waters full and had nice relaxing evening. Thank you!
We didn't want to leave the Shi Tzu at home so scrapped our plans at the skewer place and decided to try Floralia instead. Adding it to my good-life decisions list! The vibe is warm and casual. Because what could be wrong with open-air, patio dining under string lights? Nothing! Not one thing...also, cool 80's rock playlist def spoke to our Gen X spirits. Took us back to our corner table dates way back in the day. But this is not your old school pizza! This is revolutionary pizza. It's pizza that satisfies the grown-up us, the sophisticated palates we've developed over five decades. But it's pizza that would make any kid ask for seconds. (True because we saw kids asking for seconds!) Have the Caesar salad. It's the best I've ever tasted and I've had my share of freshly made, table-side salads tossed by tuxedo-wearing wait help. NO comparison. Floralia has them beat hands down. The Pizetta is also a MUST-try. It was a special that they added to their regular menu and I'm forever grateful. This is also the best pizza my taste buds have ever been treated to--they are still thanking me AND asking me when I'll indulge them again! Perfection on a plate--a combination of savory, sweet, creamy, chewy. It was a mind-altering experience! We also tried the Paradiso and finished off with the pistachio cannoli both were delightful and did not disappoint. Everything was so incredible we came back a week later and tried the white with mushrooms and the pesto. NO complaints and ONLY compliments to the hard-working staff who take great care in creating delicious foods and an engaging environment. Bravo! Bellissima!! Also, the test of a great pizza in my opinion is if you can eat it out of the fridge, straight from the box the next day. And YES, it passed the test. It also heats well, too. So don't be shy and order enough to take home a 'doggie' bag! This place is an oasis of culinary excellence. I almost hesitate sharing this because I want to keep Floralia a secret just for us. But they deserve the five-star review. I don't know how they are making plant-based pizza taste so extraordinary but I'm okay not knowing the secret to their magic as long as they keep doing it!
I had no idea Floralia was a fully plant-based restaurant. And, while the internet says it is not the same thing, I believe Floralia is entirely vegan. Which makes it all the more impressive. I've been wanting to try Floralia for a while. They have a beautiful back-door ambiance, with outdoor and indoor seating. Pretty bobble lights throughout overhanging trees and a brick pizza oven give the restaurant a communal feel. And the food was really impressive. My family has no problems with meat/dairy, but I would come again just for the flavors. The Caesar salad was exceptionally good and creamy. We also tried the focaccia, Margareta pizza and a pistachio cannoli. Overall, the prices are slightly higher than a traditional pizzaria, but we left feeling full and I have a better appreciation for plant-based cuisine. The service was excellent! They also have a full bar and new cocktails. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to try something new, and for those who can't tolerate dairy, Floralia is an amazing substitute.
Really nice place for a casual date night. It wasn't too crowded for a Wednesday night but the vibes are great. We found street parking infront of the restaurant since it wasn't busy. Not sure if they have a parking lot dedicated for customers. I love how it's an open kitchen and you see them put the pizza in the wood fire oven. Food came out timely and we just enjoyed some wine while waiting. We got pinot grigio and another white wine that our server recommended. We ordered the ceasar salad which was so simple yet so tasty. The balance between the lemon and cheese was perfect. The White pizza added a sausage topping was good for two. The ingredients were evenly distributed and worked well with each other. The dough was so good and chewy, perfectly cooked especially with its crispy bottom. Finished the night off with cannoli with pistachios since they ran out of tiramisu. It was also good to wrap up our taste buds. definitely will come again!
Floralia is located adjacent to a lot on the corner of Kapiolani and Kamake'e. There's lot of street parking even though the signs say "tow away zone". The hostess assured us we could park in those stalls. The Tivoli lights, red brick pizza oven and outdoor seating transport you from Kaka'Ako to a charming and bougie Italian pizzeria. A food truck off to the side is evidence of their humble beginnings. They definitely have grown and evolved. I'm genuinely happy for Floralia. They do not take reservations and there is outdoor indoor seating. Our most recent visit was Valentine's Day and it was busy. My husband is vegan and we frequent Floralia and will always come back even though there was a 40 min wait for our pizza, even though they forgot our meatball (which is bomb BTW). They have a nice selection of wine and drinks. We had salad and dessert to start while waiting for our pizza. The tiramisu is out of this world, creamy, and yummy! can't say enough about the white pizza. It is definitely worth the wait. Vegan? Who said this was vegan? Sooo good!
Enjoying my weekend gathering with a few foodie friends we had our minds set on pizza for lunch. Off we went in search for highly recommended "What it Dough". What we happily found was Floralia, the renamed vegan pizza establishment in same location. It was a first for me and was happy to see somewhat dedicated parking on an otherwise busy location. We'll, at least the staff @ Floralia told us where to park. The approach was nicely groomed with trellises and foliage and the place looked inviting. Lots of courtyard outdoor seating with coverage. Ordering was easy. We shared a MASSIVE calzone, pizza of the day and cannoli for dessert. The food was delicious and not overly rich, leaving a good yet full feeling. Only recommendation is to have pizza cooked just a few moments longer as bottom was slightly soggy. Will I be back? You betcha! Right now Floralia is under capital development and planning to expand location. Looking forward to see what is coming next. read more

Whenever I'm at a dinner party and the subject of pizza comes up everyone has a different go to spot. I can confidently recommend Floralia to non-vegans. The crust is not too thick or thin you can't go wrong when it's fired up in brick oven. Is it the weekend? I have dreams during the week of FRESH! Fresh dough, fresh nut cheeses, fresh toppings. Open Friday to Sunday. My favorite is the white pizza that has vegan mozzarella and Parmesan and a cashew ricotta I like to add mushrooms and sometimes garlic. Margherita is a great classic with san marzano tomato sauce vegan cheese and fresh basil. Let's not forget the mouthwatering Pesto Royale sausage, ricotta, pesto, bell peppers. Pies range from $16-$20 and add additional for $3 Calzones now on the menu classic 19 pesto 21 Cannoli $6 pistachio or chocolate chip. Perfect crisp pastry that's not oily and light cream inside. Stop by eat it right out of the brick oven on one of their outdoor seating tables. Always a good vibe. read more

We were blown away by the best vegan pizza we've ever had! Been to a ton of them all over the mainland and this one beats my favorite vegan pizza back there, hands down. The specials were Mexican street corn pizza and guava cheesecake. Since everything is vegan here, I had to get both of those items. They were beyond my expectations. The flavors were exquisitely balanced in the street corn pizza and the pesto pizza we got. My spouse loves pesto so we always get one. Not sure what they do to the peppers on top of the pesto pizza, but they were super delicious. I had one on its own and wow, so tasty. The vegan meat on top was well-seasoned. Every component was yummy on its own. It's no wonder the whole pizza was amazing. Clearly, they care about the food they make. The guava cheesecake was creamy and so good. Not too sweet like it's often the issue at other places when I get dessert. Also, must get the Caesar salad. Great. Vegans and omnivores alike will love this place because it is just crazy good food, period. Exceptional service. The person with the big beard seemed to be either the owner or manager and their job was just to oversee that everything was running smoothly. The person bussing the tables dropped something and everyone else pitched in and helped them quietly wipe up and clean. No mean looks or words were given to the person who made the mistake. They just seem like lovely people. Hard working and compassionate. The restaurant is by a bunch of vegans that volunteer at the Aloha (farmed) Animal Sanctuary on the Windward side, based on the t-shirts most of them were wearing. You can tell all the food and the establishment in general is made with love. Thank you for existing and feeding us! We will be back on a regular basis. Will bring all our visiting friends. 10s, 10s, 10s across the board. Floralia serves the best vegan pizza (yes, even topping Chicago). For non-vegans, cheeseless pizza may seem like a misnomer, but I assure you Floralia's pizza is everything you'd want in a savory pie and more. Think of it as a specific taste and experience rather than the "next best alternative to the real thing." After trying a few pizzas, the Jade (white pizza with pesto) and Pesto Genoa stick out as the must haves for every visit. The cheese in these pizzas are so delicious it kind of hurts thinking about it (that "broke da mouth" feeling). Floralia expanded their space in winter 2023 with an indoor seating area to offer two experiences. The outside seating really gives you a freeing sensation under the sky. The Floralia team is super friendly and accommodating. They work hard and make everything to order. It's hard to beat the freshness this place is able to offer. Parking is available along the street for free. Keep an eye out for a space adjacent to the car wash and you'll come across a tucked away spot which is an oasis for good eats. Follow Floralia's IG for updates on their seasonal pizzas. They post regularly, even on days off. You'll find yourself among the regulars who know the day of the week in terms of the number of days to Floralia reopening. read more

Floralia has a lovely shaded outdoor seating area. So nice watching the pizza being made fresh while we ate the appetizers. Great martini too (even my picky grandmother who is usually very critical agreed). Our server was lovely and brought water out for our dogs! read more

My husband and I are on a strict diet - however we are constantly failing it because of how good this place is. We are so proud of them - we saw them through the WHAT IT DOUGH era and will stick with them to the end. The flavors are unique, comforting, and very delicious. They are constantly adding new things to their menu, which is sad because I miss some old things - but they have scaled up their ambiance and quality. Love this place very much! read more
Discovered this place while walking to Whole Foods and immediately checked Yelp to see if it was worth checking out. I didn't realize this initially but they're only open Fri-Sun so plan accordingly. I'm not a vegan so I was hesitant to try this spot because I didn't want my taste buds to be compromised but I can say they weren't. I met Z one of the chefs and he recommended the Misto (sp?) since I'm not vegan. The Misto has marinara, basil, oregano, and ricotta cheese. Still being skeptical I tried his recommendation and also asked for half marinara as a back up. I was pleasantly surprised, the pizza did not disappoint! The location is fairly small and somewhat self serve. You place your order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. The service was quick and the staff was pleasant. read more

The vibe ambiance / aloha heartfelt service is always welcoming even when there's a wait I mean it's a brick oven you can only fit so many pizzas in there. This is by far one a my fav food spots on island and after living in NYC for over 20 years it's on bar with top plant based nyc chefs. The flavors are well matched - ingredients are fresh and dough is something I look forward to weekly. The pesto is my current go to I love blend of cheese's. And the cannoli was better than Venieros (nyc top Italian bakery) I recommend ordering ahead they sometimes run out. On Sunday night, I wanted to eat pizza. Joseph found a place that made fresh pizza - What It Dough. So glad we came here! What a gem! The pizza tasted like Heaven. It took me back to the old New York City where the pizza shops used the pure olive oil, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella cheese. The crust tasted absolutely fantastic. I felt a bit sad when we finished the pizza pie. The kiawe wood used in the oven added to the pizza taste. Just like the traditional brick used to bake pizza pies, this oven became the centerpiece. The aroma smelled terrific. Located near the Salt - Kakaako area, What It Dough built a following of locals customers. When we went to What It Dough, we waited for 10 minutes for the pizza. Well worth the wait. The service scored an A+. Fast and courteous the staff presented the pizza within the promised time frame. Unfortunately, What It Dough does not have outdoor seating. But we can overlook that. First perk: Free parking. Second perk: What It Dough sells Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Come to What It Dough. Bring friends, family, or even a date. read more

***Dough hard, vegan cheese was kind of bland, service seemed occupied, advertising could be better*** Upon arrival the site of the huge oven definitely sets the expectations high for what you're about to eat. Unfortunately the cheese was bland, the dough had a broken texture (when you bite it breaks off like a pita bread). The tomato sauce was delightfully flavorful. I got a side of vegan-Parmesan cheese and it didn't help too much. The service seemed occupied with other things going on. They could do a better job advertising it was vegan-only, as the table next to me had no idea until after they ordered. read more

SERVICE - mobile food stand located about 1.5 mi from Waikiki and about 1 block from ala moana mall - the neighborhood seems a little sketchy because of the lack of other shops - only open on the weekends from 4-8 - small team (4-5 people) with a truck for assembly and a wood fire oven to cook - each order takes about 20 minutes to make - no restrooms - parking nearby but if you are staying in Waikiki I recommend walking MENU - vegan wood fired pizza - all toppings are house made including the cheeses and meats - well priced ($17-$20 per pizza) FOOD - margherita (8/10): it's a classic pizza, hard to go wrong here. You would not expect that the cheese is made from beans and not nuts. - da pesto (8/10): i really liked the pesto on this one. It was not super oily and played well with the cashew goat cheese. To be honest, if I had known the sausage was house made I would have probably ordered the pesto royale. - white (9/10): this was my favorite of the three which is surprising because I am not usually a fan of plain cheese pizzas. What sets this apart is the different types of cheeses. The almond ricotta is the base covered by a white bean mozzarella and finished with a sprinkling of cashew Parmesan. I think it would have been phenomenal with some sautéed mushrooms or even a sprinkle of truffle salt. WOULD I COME BACK? for sure! This was some of the best vegan pizza I have ever had. Hidden Gem Alert! I can't believe there's only 14 reviews for Floralia, the Wood-fired vegan pizza spot that hugs the corner of Kona and Kamake'e in Kaka'ako. The romantic patio setting is the perfect spot to wind down your weekend...or get it started with a bang. Don't let the fact that this is an unapologetically vegan pizza spot...you will never miss the animal protein or the dairy. We sampled the Caesar salad to start, crisp romaine tossed in Caesar dressing and diced pear, with toasted bread crumbs. Super yummy. The main attraction was the Pesto Royale Pizza, a generous 12 inch pie topped with pesto, sausage, goat cheese, marinated peppers and mozzarella. The crust is thin, chewy and not soggy at all. Which in my mind is the true test of good pizza. Don't miss the cannoli! We sampled both options Pistachio and Chocolate Chip declaring it a tie for which one was better. Service was super friendly, with several suggestions to guide us to pizza bliss. Check their Insta for the monthly specials. Only serving non-alcoholic beverages you can BYOB...pro-tip..Harry's liquor store is a block away Currently only open on weekends I have no doubt this hidden gem won't remain hidden for long. read more
Ordered the margarita pizza and the Caesar salad as a take out. The flavor of the sauce is delicious. Lightly flavored and slightly sweet. The salad was on the small side and the pizza could be a little bit more crispy, but overall. I'm very happy with it. If you're worried about it tasting too healthy, you can't really tell the difference. Service was a little slower than anticipated, so we had to wait about 20 minutes more than was quoted. read more

Floralia has the best pizza on the island of Oahu, or any other island or the mainland or continent. Mind-blowingly fantastic! What I would give to have a Floralia in San Rafael California. It's really crazy that the small island of Oahu has far more vegan options that northern California. That's besides the point & my problem, Floralia is exceptional. The pizza exceeded our expectations by miles. Incredible pizza crust, perfectly seasoned marinara sauce, creamy mozzarella cheese with topnotch toppings and fired to perfection. We tried the pepperoni pizza and it was a 10 out of 10. We also tried their calzone which was also beyond fantastic. We ordered way too much food but it worked out perfectly for lunch the next day on our flight home. I wish we had dined here more than once as we really wanted to try everything on their menu, including desert which I guarantee we'll order the next time we visit. It's a little out of the way from the Waikiki hotels but an easy drive or ride share door to door. We ended up walking most of the way home from the restaurant which made for a perfect evening, stopping off at the Honolulu art museum afterwards. The prices are more than fair for what you receive. I would have happily paid twice the amount for vegan food that was this good. They have a great little outdoor area where you dine. Seemed roomy, clean and inviting. The service was simple, you just walk up and order and they bring it to your table. Very friendly staff that were working quite hard as the place stayed busy the entire time we were there. Lots of love for Floralia. We'll be coming back for sure on our next trip, more than one evening this time. read more

What can be said that hasn't already. For fresh high quality vegetarian handmade pizza your not likely to find better. Only open Sat and sun and always slammed but if you call ahead you'll be fine. Sometimes a 2 hour wait so plan ahead. Really nice people. read more
First off, this dough! Possibly the best dough I have ever had - vegan or not! I usually leave the crusts because pizza crust is just too hard and not very tasty, but wow, this dough is so delicious I ate it all! It cooked up fresh in the outdoor wood burning oven and the love just shows. Second, this vegan cheese is also amazing! We really loved how it was melty and it had a wonderful flavor that was unexpected - we've had some yucky vegan cheese before. Third, what a fabulous selection of toppings! We got a cheese with sausage and mushrooms, and a pepperoni with added sausage. The sausage does not have any kind of overwhelming flavor, and we liked that. The flavors of the pizza come together effortlessly, and we also really loved how it was not oily at all - which frankly, is the bane of pizza everywhere. What It Dough is located near the corner of Kona and Kamakee, next to that strange strip of parking on the corner near the stoplight. They don't appear to have any parking of their own. Staff are lovely, and they are very honest about how long a pizza will take. They sometimes have garlic knots and cannoli too! You can't order online but you CAN call in your order. And you should! Then you can take advantage of a few more minutes at the beach or the bar, or just at home watching football. In short, you can't really tell it's a vegan pizza. The dough is AMAZING and totally worth waiting until Saturday or Sunday to eat (because they're only open on the weekend from 4-8pm). So try it out! read more
Great hidden place right in town. Great family vibe oriented,clean ,friendly staff , great for family's or anyone. The pizza here is so fresh & amazing yessah it's broke da mouth delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone. The desserts is very good as well cannolis are a Weakness. read more

The best vegan pizza on the island! Got here on a Saturday just minutes before they opened at 4pm. Ordered a pesto royale pie, eggplant parmesan pie, and a pistachio cannolo to end the meal with a treat. Btw, for those that don't know, cannolo is singular and cannoli is plural! The pizza was truly perfect, every detail was so carefully crafted. The staff mentioned they limited their eggplant pizza due to inventory of the eggplant sourced from farms.
