    Shakshuka deluxe

I went for brunch and everything was delicious! We tried the shakshuka deluxe and famous egg salad toast. Both were excellent! I really enjoyed the lamb sausage in the shakshuka and it came with warm pita. The egg salad was deliciously creamy and the bread was perfectly toasted. We also tried Aviv and Katom signature blended juices. Both were delicious but I think the Katom was my favorite just due to preference of flavor! Service was super friendly and helpful. Everything was brought out quickly and they even refilled my juice without extra charge! Inside is super cute with what I believe is Israeli inspired decor. They have a cute patio area outside as well!

Delicious Israeli inspired food. Love how small and quaint it is inside and their patio is nice!

The food is very good and the bagels are excellent. Our personal favorite is the Persian omelette! However, they ran out of bagels today which is odd for a Saturday. Wish we could come back regularly but the wait staff has such a bad attitude each time that discourages us from dining here. It is really a shame because the food is good.

We had a lovely lunch at Florentin. It has great vegetarian options as well as some meat dishes and pastries. It's a good options whether you're popping in for a coffee or sitting down for a full meal. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too busy, making it a great place to catch up with friends without shouting over noise. The vibe is casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. There's street parking and a nearby lot, so getting there was easy. The coffee was good (no refills, but that didn't bother us), and the food was very nice. The lamb shakshuka was flavorful and satisfying, while the Persian herb omelet felt lighter and packed with fresh herbs -- both dishes were beautifully done. Overall, Florentin is the kind of all-day café you could keep coming back to. Great menu, calm vibe, and good food.

Food was really good! I enjoyed the new to me flavors of the harissa and the toast was surprisingly refreshing with the topping (reminded me of Greek yogurt). Space is a little small and the seating was a little simple. The tables are small metal rusted tables, so not my favorite. Service was attentive enough, our server came by at correct times. Some of the prices are a bit steep but maybe they're worth it?

We got to try Florentin for brunch. It was lovely day and we were able to sit outside for brunch. We got try the Shakshuka Deluxe and Lamb pita. The Shakshuka was incredibly done - the flavors were perfect! The lamb pita was really good as well. We had the Hummus Abu Omri with fresh vegetables to share. The hummus was creamy and rich. To drink we tried the Jaffa and the dark chocolate mochaccino. Both drinks were lovely! Looking forward to trying their juices next time! This place is great for a nice summer brunch. Service was prompt.

Such a cute brunch spot! We had the deluxe Shashuska and four cheese boreka. Both were flavorful and delicious! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Cannot come here without ordering the lamb shakshuka. By far the best item on their menu. Pita texture was actually perfect. Their hummus and falafel were nothing notable, definitely have had better elsewhere. It's a nice vibe with very fresh food, but there are better Mediterranean spots in town. Favorite dishes: Lamb shakshuka (deluxe)

I've been excited to try Florentin and was impressed with the food! It's unique and the space is very cute. Tried: Brown Butter Fried Eggs Challah Toast, Dragonfruit Cold-Pressed Juice Loved: the Brown Butter Fried Eggs Challah Toast - I loved the way the eggs were cooked and the flavor was really good. The toast was good, and the labne on the toast was a good balance to the fried eggs. The space was open and so lively - it's a perfect spot for a unique brunch with a friend. Parking was easy and it's nice to see new spaces coming to this area of the city. Liked: the service - most of the staff were very nice Disliked: the cold-pressed juice was half the size of a similarly priced juice at other places - just not worth the price to me.

Nice location , good food. Service was nice but not particularly attentive . I see myself going there for a quick lunch or brunch .

Popped in for brunch on a weekend. Had reservation but they seem to have plenty of spots outside as well. Inside is pretty small so I would recommend making reservation. We got the fried eggs with harissa brown butter Greek salad, shakshuka delux and baba ghanoush. Baba ghanoush came with bread but shakshika did not for some reason. Both were amazing. They didn't offer to refill coffee which was odd and they took away plate while food left without asking if it was ok to take away. Tables are small, and we ordered a lot for two, I get that they were making room for the table but I wish they would've checked. I think same situation as Esca, the servers / staff are new and hope they get more training as the business thrives! Always excited to try Poremba's new place. They never disappoint. Always amazing food, out of the world! Highly recommend for brunch/ lunch spot

Cutest restaurant with incredible buildout both inside and out! The food is top notch and the service very friendly. Has a chic vibe complementing an Israeli inspired menu. Prices are a great value for European sized portions.

It's Friday, and my handsome, intriguing gentleman decided to whisk me away for a new experience in the city. You never know where we might end up or, sometimes, where you might find me alone. This time, we landed at Florentine, and what a treat it was! Thank you, Florentine, for my first-ever authentic Middle Eastern food experience! The vibe here is rustic and vintage, with a cozy, homey atmosphere that immediately made me feel at ease. The staff was amiable and attentive, ensuring everything arrived at the right moment--no rush, just perfect timing. The hummus was excellent; after this, I'll never go back to store-bought again! I also tried Turkish coffee for the first time, and let me tell you, I'm hooked. I might have to start making it at home. The falafel was another first for me, and I'm happy to say this will be my new go-to spot for my meatless days and whenever I'm craving Middle Eastern cuisine. I also had a Greek salad, but these taste buds took over before I could snap a picture, so that should tell you how good it was! Thank you, St. Louis, for yet another romantic day in the city. Until next time, Sierra

This one did, so I walked over from the restaurant where we were after lunch. This is a very pleasant shop with lots of available seating. It just has a rather modern look, and it was very nice and clean. I came up to talk to a friendly barista. The pour over menu was a bit confusing because there wasn't a lot of information directly on the menu, I asked about one pour over because I had never tried a bean of that origin before. She had good things to say about it, but she said that, if I wanted something fruity or floral to try Haro Wachu from Ethiopia. It was as if she read my mind because I had been wanting to try a natural processed Ethiopian. I'm really glad I took her suggestion! It was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever tried. I didn't taste so much of a note of fruit in it, but I still loved it! I made sure to make a note of what it was in case I have room for more beans at home and want to order it. So, I do wish it was easier to tell what each pour over was in the menu (They have a lot at reasonable prices!). However, I left there thoroughly impressed with the coffee. If you are out on Delmar Loop, they are definitely worth visiting.

Another coffee shop would have pretended to have been in business since the 19th century, before the latte was even invented, but not Crema. It's got *integrity*. Anyway, no one would believe that anything here is older than a year or two. It all new-looking. It has a certain sheen to it, like somewhere where you'd pay $40 for a Yankee Candle at Plaza Frontenac. As I arrived today with members of my running group, an unhoused gentleman was being, erm, questioned out front by 12. He may have spent the night in the lobby of this apartment building. It just so happened to be right as Crema was opening. Did they report him to the authorities? Should they have given him a job sweeping the sidewalk out front like the wise old neighborhood drunk in the movie Do the Right Thing, the lovable old James? Instead of bringing him downtown, the police merely confiscated his drugs and sent him on his way. (I hope he wasn't late for work.) I wonder what they do with those drugs. I've seen the movie Bad Lieutenant. I didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that this place doesn't carry a burrito. I love a burrito more than I love most people, but maybe this is not the place to get a burrito. But I figured I probably couldn't go wrong with a breakfast sandwich. You can't make a bad breakfast sandwich. Even a Breakfast Jack is a good breakfast sandwich. They certainly charge a premium for their breakfast sandwich. I figured this would be a situation where they charge you money out the ass for hardly any food. I was willing to take the hit anyway, for the sake of citizen food journalism, and also because I'd just run umpteen miles. Come to find out, this thing is roughly the size of a football. Its appearance is more along the lines of a torta, the hefty sandwiches from which portly Hispanic girls get their nickname. Alas, it was just okay. The croissant was ginormous but of middling quality. If it were the same size and as rich as the croissants at Comet Coffee, it would be roughly 10,000 calories, so that may have been for the best. The bacon tasted oddly similar to a Ball Park hot dog, in both a good and bad way. They give you plenty of it, but I suspect they still come out ahead. The eggs would have been fine if they'd been salted. In theory, the salt from the bacon and the cheese would have carried over to the eggs, but I don't know if I have a refined enough palate for that to be the case. I approve of a Breakfast Jack, after all. I'm willing to accept the fact that the Horchata Latte may have just been a bad order on my part. I may have needed to specify some type of syrup so that it was sweeter than it was and I didn't realize that, because what do I know about fancy coffee drinks? Or I might just not like horchata, with which I have minimal experience. They carry a gooey butter cake latte, and I should have gone with that. It was calling my name the way crack calls the guy they called the cops on. Which brings me to the Gooey Butter Cake Edges, which caught my eye in the pastry case, as if my sandwich and drink alone weren't caloric enough. I like gooey butter cake (natch), and I like the idea of "cake edges." Would this be along the lines of those brownies that are all corners? It kinda was, except that the crust wasn't quite as crisp as you'd like it to be. I don't think these were the actual edges of a gooey butter cake. They may have just been leftover cake batter baked into strips. It was still delicious, because it was gooey cake. The actual gooey butter cake may have been better. Again, I'm willing to take credit for what may have been a mistake on my part. Like the lovable old James, we all make mistakes sometimes. Crema has only been around for a few years, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they get their few issues ironed out. The decor is already top notch.
