We had the crab cakes and ceviche for appetizers-OMG- I can't stop thinking about the crab cakes. For entrees we had the filet ( magnificent perfectly cooked), my husband had the ribeye and loved it. Went here twice while in town on business. While I like seafood, I stuck to soup and salad. The chicken gumbo was superb! So much so, that I ordered it again on my second visit. However, when I requested a bowl of the gumbo, our waiter informed me I could only get a cup. Really? I started to protest, and thought of ordering 2 cups, but just let it go. It made zero sense, but i just wasn't up for a container debate (CORRECTION: the manager/ owner comments had me go back and look at his menu. The menu offers a "Lobster Bisque BOWL". I, therefore, assumed I might be able to get gumbo in a bowl, rather than a cup). Garden salad was fresh, but otherwise just a garden salad. My dining mates all enjoyed their seafood offerings. FFG has been one of our favorites for several years. Always consistently amazing. Great food and service. We met Bill and his lovely wife one evening and talked about their commitment to quality. It was more than talk as they deliver on that promise. My favorite is the black grouper with the jalapeño bacon cream sauce. My wife's favorite is their FFG salad with blackened salmon. Wish they had a corkage fee in place but I guess you can't have everything. read more

Let me say, this restaurant is a five star restaurant unfortunately the manager kept turning down the lights for ambiance and it made it impossible to see. A patron should not have to use a phone to see a menu. With that being said, let me say this restaurant is delicious, comfortable and very popular. We were greeted upon entering and seated immediately. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very well versed in the menu and the items that were offered. After his suggestions chose the bread service over the appetizers, and I can say I was not disappointed. Their bread is delicious, warm and so, so good. We placed our orders my husband chose shrimp and scallops and I chose the red snapper. The snapper was delicious, perfectly cooked and would definitely order again and again. One of my all time favorite restaurants. Worth the drive from Winter Park. The Chilean Sea Bass is excellent. My daughter loved the shrimp and scallops. Her husband totally enjoyed his sirloin and the craft beer. I highly recommend Florida Fresh Grill to BITH of my friends! Oh, yeah, and ask for Dennise! Her service was wonderful. 5 stars for a place that really lives up to the hype. When it comes to Florida, two things that you often find are good fish and good service. However, when it comes to a birthday dinner on the Space Coast, I was looking for a place that provided great fish and great service. After searching for a little while, I kept coming across Florida's Fresh Grill. Located in the Publix shopping plaza in Cocoa Beach (if you are there, you will know the one), we made some birthday reservations during one of my visits to Titusville and made the 30 minute drive down. We arrived at the venue and found the place extremely packed, so definitely glad we made reservations. The darker interior with rooms off to the left and right and a bar in the center looked pretty classy for the Cocoa Beach area. A hostess soon took us to our table and the server came to say hello. This server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the entire night and made sure that we were having a great time. So solid venue and service, but how was the food? In a word: EXCELLENT. We started our meal (based on online recommendations) with the avocado crab "tower" (note: don't expect a seafood tower type of setup) and the beer battered coconut shrimp. The apps arrived fairly fast and were both very tasty, with the coconut shrimp being noted by everyone as something: a) they would not have ordered regularly, and b) that was the best coconut shrimp they had eaten in years. The real star of the show though was the mains. My wife and I each ordered fish, with me getting a mahi and her getting...something that I can't remember. What I can remember is one of them was "oscar" style while the other was "bellaire" style, which means the toppings on the steak. The oscar style was solid and something we had seen before on steak, but the bellaire style was to die for! Overall, Florida Fresh Grill lived up to the hype. First impression walking in was the dimly lit room however pleasant and easy on the eyes. I was attended by the hostess quickly and the wait was about 20 mins. Seating outside was clean and friendly waitress (Trisha) greeted us quickly. Now onto my favorite part of the experience. Everything served was superb! We ordered well seasoned fish sampler bits with tartar sauce in addition to sesame Ahi Tuna that was served with an amazing ginger sauce for appetizers. This restaurant is really special...and they know it too! We happened upon it in a low-key Publix strip mall. Fortunately, they had room outside on a summer evening for us because we didn't make a reservation. They immediately asked how we found out about them. The servers are very happy to explain the menu, which has fresh seafood and inventive dishes. They also are happy to make recommendations. In addition to the regular menu, they also have specials. It's hard not to try something from the appetizers and then a main dish...as well as a cocktail. First off, let me say that the food and service are typically very good having been there many times over the years. However, they have a serious problem with their fryers lately. We may be seriously unlucky but we went 3 times over 3 months (Oct, Nov, Feb) and each time the fryer was broken and no fried food was available. We were really looking forward to the Calamari each time but no luck. Not sure why they can't keep their fryers working. We're probably not going back after being let down 3 times in a row. Maybe the owner can explain the recent repeated fryer problems? read more

The first thing you smell is fish when you walk into the restaurant and it was cool to cold. Generally, when you smell fish there is something now right. We ordered a salad without spring mix and we received a salad with spring mix. The bowl of clam chowder was served a little over half full. The swordfish had a 'fishy' smell and was warm when it was served. The garlic mashed potatoes blended with the liquid from the mixed vegetables. The bread service was an uncharge of $4 and then one small 'grinder roll' size piece was served. Please. The entire meal was not worth the price that was charged. read more

This was my first visit to Florida's Fresh Grill and it was amazing. A friend took me for a bday dinner and it was fresh, delicious and the timing was amazing as well. We had the Avocado Crab tower that was plenty to share and the crab tasted fresh and avocado was ripe and delicious. For entree I had the swordfish and my friend had the shrimp and scallop meal. One of us had the filet mignon and she said it was better than she expected and very good. The third got the filet as well and one of us got a burger. The burger is HUGE. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the bizarre seating situation. Why not just take reservations? If you call ahead you still have to wait about 20 minutes (they were telling everyone the wait was 20 mins whether they called ahead or not).
