The food was great. I had the corn chowder - best I've ever eaten. My friends (locals) told me to take the mini dinner as the chicken fried steak dinner is enough for 2 people. I was stuffed to the gills. The meat was tender, and proper chicken fried steak - not some cube steak but real actual steak pounded and quickly fried. I didn't try the green beans, way too much fat (bacon) but my friends swear by 'em. Mashed potatoes were heaven as was the gravy. The corn muffin was perfectly done. All the baked goods are done on the premises. The owners sent their nanny to bakery school once the kids got too old for a nanny so she'd have a better life. Nice people, nice place. My husband and I decided to stop by here on our way out to Cabazon. We usually go to the one at Chino Airport. I was so happy to see Debbie from the other one. Debbie is a wonderful server and I definitely recommend you ask for her. I ordered the veggie omelette with country gravy on the hash browns. So yummy. You have to try the homemade salsa. I used to live in Ontario and going to Flo's Chino Airport Cafe was a frequent delight for years and years. What a surprise to find this new one so close to me now that I moved to Beaumont. Same great EVERYTHING...the food, the prices and the friendly staff. The cafe is small, very clean, but they close at 2:00 so get there early! read more

We've been to Flo's a few times since it opened. The first few times were very good. Good service and the food had a local flare. Unfortunately, the last couple times have been very disappointing. Enough to call for a poor review today. The hash browns was more a pile of mashed potatoes barely cooked thoroughly. The eggs/food lacked any flavor. This place has gone from having accountability to its clientele to meeting mediocre standards. There are plenty of breakfast/lunch options in the surrounding area(s) and settling for convenience at the cost of quality and flavor is the only outcome from visiting Flo's. read more

We've been to Flo's for breakfast many times. Nice choices, good food. Thought we'd try Prime Rib night (Fridays). This is why I didn't give 5 stars. Not because the food wasn't good...it was very good and plentiful. We both had the PR - huge, thick cut and very tender. Hubby got the mashed potatoes, there was enough for 3 meals with way too much gravy. If you don't like your potatoes swimming in gravy, ask for it on the side. I had the twice baked potato, excellent. The veg last night was zucchini with onions and big chunks of bacon. Good flavor, a little over cooked, but not bad. The meal also comes with choice of bread. We had the cheese toast. Huge, thick slices of bread with the cheese toasted on both sides...wow!! Now you're wondering: what's wrong with all of that? Not a thing, BUT...it was Friday and everyone who lives near Cherry Valley was at Flo's. We had to wait for 1/2 hour for a table. The room is very small and the noise from all of those voices was horrendous. When we go for breakfast, walk in, sit down, order, eat and leave. BTW: I'm pretty sure they actually cook the PR (instead of order it from a supplier precooked, pre-sliced, ready to serve), because a table near us asked for PR when we were half way through our meal and were told the only thing left was the well done end cut. We also used the coupon for the free dessert. OMG!! Black Forest Cherry Chocolate cake with whipped cream for frosting. Also enormous. Between us we couldn't eat all of it. If you go when it's not crowded = 5 stars. They need more room. read more

We walked in at 1:45pm and the waitresses happily invited us in even those closing time was near. They were very happy to serve us and got us drinks right away. We chose to order their daily special, a jumbo grilled cheese with bacon and cream of tomato soup, and a bacon western cheeseburger with onion rings. The food was delicious, and when the waiter noticed that the grilled cheese was missing the bacon she scolded the chef and got me EXTRA bacon at no extra charge. The bacon was extra crispy and was a super addition to the texas-toast like sandwich which was also extra cheesy! The cheeseburger was huge and tasted delicious as well. The onion rings were perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful in their ranch dressing. We gave an extra large tip as a thanks for them letting us eat well past their close time, and even though we live not too close we will definitely be back again to try more on their menu!! read more

So we came to have breakfast here for the first time this morning and it was just OK, I give it 3 stars mostly because all the workers are nice and it's a cute place. I had high expectations because of the high rating and great reviews, we also found out about it because one of my dad's coworkers recommended this place. I got the 2 egg breakfast, that consisted of 2 eggs (obviously), hash browns, and your choice of biscuits and gravy or toast. I usually get biscuits and gravy with my breakfasts but I decided to get toast this time. Everything was bland I had to put so much salt and pepper on the eggs and hashbrowns to get some taste in there, and I usually don't put much salt on my hashbrowns. I was also very disappointed in the hashbrowns, the just reminded me of really dry mashed potatoes that got browned in a pan. They were dry and tasteless. The toast was also drenched in butter, I had to pat a lot off with a napkin. My mom got biscuits and gravy and I got a taste and they were also tasteless, since I love biscuits and gravy so much it's very hard for me to not like it.... but I don't like this one at all. Overall everything was just OK and a bit disappointing, the rest of my family kind of had the same opinion. Although we might come back some other time to try their pancakes and give this place another shot. read more

My husband and I went there this morning for breakfast. Our first time there, but I think we will be back. Service was awesome, ask any of the wait staff a question and they will answer with a smile on their face. My hubby ordered pancakes and corn beef hash. Pancakes were very good and fluffy, corn beef was good, but it probably came out of a can. I had a bacon omelet with cheese. Was disappointed that the cheese was just a slice of American cheese and not grated cheddar. Hash browns were done just right and the biscuits and gravy were very good, not over powered with pepper like some other places. I tried the home made peach jam over some of my husband's pancakes and WOW, what flavor. They do sell the jams, but sadly there was no more peach jam to be had. This is a restaurant I have driven by many times and never given a second thought to, until today when I read the reviews on Yelp. My husband, daughter-in-law and I came for lunch. We didn't really know what to expect, but we were very pleased! The service was amazing, the food was delicious ,the portions huge and we have a new "go-to" spot for breakfast or lunch when we are in the Beaumont area. Our daughter-in-law had the grilled cheese sandwich with fries. She said it was very good. My husband had "Pete's Platter", I think it was called. He and I could have easily shared that, and we both really like to eat. I had the bacon and eggs breakfast, which came with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I am a picky bacon eater, I like it VERY crisp. This is the first time I have received bacon crisp enough for me, but not burned. Amazing! My checking in with Yelp we also received a free piece of pie. We choose pecan. It was very, very good. I had high hopes for this place. I'm always looking for that home style go to neighborhood diner. Unfortunately it wasn't that good. I had the steak and eggs. Steak needed a lot of salt. The hash browns needed salt. The biscuits taste freshly baked but not from scratch. Kind of like the ones you can bake at home out from the store. My light scrambled eggs with cheese were good though! Kind of hard to mess up eggs. Customer service was good but not great. The place is small, which is fine if it isn't muggy. Too many bodies for the small space. And it smelled like sweaty people. Over all average. Still on the search for something better. The customer service is horrible; ask for something and you get an attitude. We get our food and there is literally no flavor, the French toast is salty and the eggs taste like rubber. This was my third time eating at Flo's Country Café. While the service has been great every time, the food has been very inconsistent. Today I tried a bacon cheeseburger medium rare with fries. I knew my burger was going to be over-cooked when my order came out after the order for a couple that ordered 5 minutes after my order. So the first burger came out very well done (dry and nasty). The excellent waitress offered me a green salad while I waited for them to re-cook my order. Good thing I got the salad, because when the burger came back the second time (correctly cooked), the fries were nasty! They were the same fries from the first order! The cook just dropped them back in the fryer for a couple of seconds. So they were barely warm, and so greasy that the grease was actually dripping off of them! This place still gets 3 stars because the service is always good, and the food is usually good - just not this time. Maybe this is a new cook? I definitely won't order a hamburger at Flo's again. I do recommend the pies, and the prime rib on Friday's is also good. read more
