Yerrrrm this place is great. It's like a better honeygrow. Everything is fresh and made to order. It's seemingly healthy, but I'm sure if you put as much sauce on things as I did, it totally undoes everything. Their lemonade and iced tea are also wonderful. Highly recommend!!!! This place is a super cute spot in South End and AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and loved every bit of it: location, decor, food, and drinks. The food is healthy but so delish. We tried the chicken, Mac & cheese, broccoli, "forbidden rice," and salmon...OMG that salmon was so good! Everything we ate was outstanding. The red sangria we had was refreshing and went very well with our meals. The service was great. We will be back very very soon! read more

SOOOOO delicious and such a cute establishment! Service was pretty fast, food was PHENOMENAL- I ordered the tofu entree (herb seasoned and I asked for the tofu to be blackened for extra seasoning), the roasted broccoli, and the Mac n cheese! All was so good! Both of the seasonal lemonades they had were delicious too! I tried the rose petal and strawberry apple I believe and it was great! Parking isn't bad, there's a small lot and street parking right out front. I went around lunchtime on a Friday and it was pretty busy, mildly loud, but the wait wasn't long and everything moved pretty quickly. You Order first and they will bring your food to the table! This is my new go to lunch spot. read more

Flower Child exceeded my already high expectations and checked all the boxes! I've been to the Atlanta location so I was looking forward to this opening for a long time. Great food and atmosphere, reasonable prices, amazing flavors, comfortable. Sign me up! We went opening day, everything seems to be already running like a well oiled machine. Line to order not too long and lots of seating. Friendly staff, very attentive. Tomato toast with goat cheese/pistachio was great to start. Next up was salmon entree with two sides. I'd say it was the best salmon I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, great seasoning. Home run! The broccoli with lemon Parmesan was awesome but they left too much of the tough stalks on. Need less stalks, more florets. I loved the Indian-spiced cauliflower with quinoa. Unique flavors. I tasted my friend's grilled sweet potatoes and need to have that next time. Very happy. Overall kudos to the kitchen! Lots of flavor comes through in every dish. Nailed it! P.S. Love the working cuckoo clock on the wall. Nice touch read more

This place is an Instagrammer's dream. Decorations are cute and quaint. They have huge windows to allow the sunlight in and a nice outdoor patio with heaters for cooler days. The menu has a unique variety of items with interesting flavor profiles for tastes of all kinds. My wrap hit the spot. I was looking for something healthy, filling, and flavorful and was elated to find something that did all of that. With a flavorful salad as the side! The cold brew coffee had a nice flavor and they offered to add almond milk as well. Not to mention the pour was huge! We enjoyed our meal and would definitely visit again the next time I am in town. Just FYI- they do have a small parking lot but if was unfortunately full due to a morning yoga class. We ended up parking on the street nearby which is free after 5 on weekends and on the weekends. read more

There was lots of seating and not a long wait for our food. Everything had the right amount of spices, flavor. Can be a little pricey, but it's worth it for healthy eating. I could probably eat here everyday! Been here a few times and I already have my favorites :) the skinny Cobb salad with shrimp tops the list, with a glass of the rose petal lemonade please. The simplicity and freshness of their food is what I like the most. I've also tried their daily soup, the glow bowl and the bird is the word wrap and everything so far has been delicious! But I didn't even mention how cute the actual restaurant is.. the vibrant, colorful ambiance makes the experience all the more pleasant. They're on the pricier side for being a casual food spot, but if it's the quality of the ingredients we're paying for - then you can definitely taste it in the food. You won't leave feeling grossly full and bloated.. instead you will likely leave feeling satisfied and completely void of any guilt :) read more

It was such a beautiful day out I walked the light rail to this gem! Super good food, great flavor, and a lot of options to choose from. I ordered the Entree Bowl with Broccoli, Mac and Cheese, and Chicken. It's was $14ish with a drink! Good sized portions as well, I had leftovers! I love the location, and the atmosphere too. So I've been trying to find healthier food options to eat for lunch so I tried Flower Child. I went clearly at a busy time so it took a bit of time to get my food. The inside looked cute but I didn't stay since I went on my lunch. I would love to try it again but get something new. The salmon was okay but in my opinion it was bland. I used their pepper sauce to eat with my salmon which helped! As my sides, I got broccoli and mashed potatoes. The mash was actually my favorite! It was creamy and flavorful. As for the broccoli, I'm not sure what the sauce was but it was not evenly distributed so it was a too much for me. However, based off the mash and the workers (they were really nice). I'd definitely go again. If you plan to go on your break, order ahead! read more

Gosh this place is adorable. The decor in Flower Child was life-giving. It's SO fun and colorful. And the food was DELISH! Some details: You order at the counter, so a lot of the line to get in was because it takes a minute to order. Once we actually got inside, there was plenty of seating. They also put through your entire group's order at once, and then you pay separately. A little strange, but it worked. The food is a little pricey, IMO, but it was really delicious! I got the Teriyaki Shrimp bowl, and my husband got The Rebel wrap. Both were delicious! I loved how many vegetarian and pescatarian options there were, and I can't wait to go back and try everything. Parking was only street parking, but it is right off the light rail. Definitely recommend checking it out! read more

I stopped here several months ago on one of my visits to Charlotte. I've been itching to leave a review all this time. First the good--the food is fresh, flavorful, and well-presented, served in a colorful, well-lit environment. I could feel myself getting healthier as I ate. I think I had a Chicken Caesar salad (it's been a few months, as I mentioned). The not-as-good: I was making my beverage selection while ordering at the counter, and I asked innocently about diet soda. I respect that the business has food standards and only offers more natural beverages, but the response from the employee was off. Not rude but with just a hint of ugh-are-you-serious that was off-putting. As delicious as my food was, that feeling of discomfort is what I remember. I visit Charlotte every few months, and love to go back to places if I have a good memory of the experience. With so many places to choose from, I just don't know how long it'll take for me to get back here. There's zillions of angry reviews out there, but sometimes it's a minor, throwaway interaction that decides whether a customer comes back. Four stars, and I'm in no rush to go back. read more

Delicious, healthy, fast-casual concept in South End. Definitely a must try. The food was delicious as you can really taste the freshness and healthiness in every bite. You have the option of adding meat to your entree for an extra charge or going straight vegetarian/vegan. The service was remarkable; great service from start to finish. I first came across this place browsing The Charlotte Agenda and seeing their article on it. Then a couple of my friends went and made positive remarks on it so of course I had to try it out! First things first is this place is located in South End so expect to look for street parking. When we went for an early lunch on Sunday the line was a little out the door but the counter/cashier to purchase your food was very close to the door so the wait wasn't bad. They give you a number to put on your table and deliver you your order relatively quick. I ordered the Mother Earth bowl and added Tofu to it which was I wanna say $2.50 extra or around that range. My bill ended up be about $15 which is a little on the pricier side. But overall I enjoyed my dish! The Tofu was delicious and the mushrooms had a nice little kick to them. My friend ordered a curry rice dish and she said it was great! I would definitely come back again. The decor and atmosphere was really well done. Especially compared to Fat Burrito which was the establishment that was there before. read more

Been here twice now and probably won't be back. Food isn't bad, there are just so many great local places in Charlotte we still haven't tried. Last time I was there they messed up my order and gave everyone in my party their food before mine (all I had was a soup and salad). By the time I waited to see if it was coming then went to the front to ask about it my friends were done eating. Manager comped my meal but it was still annoying. read more

Yummm! Food is delish. The servers were friendly and made great recommendations. Loved the curry, it was a bit spicy which I love, with a thick broth. The veggies were fresh and crunchy and the medium steak was superb! Not everything is organic and the serving is small for the price we paid. If you are looking for a break from some of the delicacies of the south and are looking for a nice, healthy meal, this is your place! Everything was fresh and there was a good selection from salads, protein bowls to noodles. I was not a fan of the ginger vinaigrette, but I'm not a huge fan of ginger in general and there should not a negative hit this place should take because of that. Would highly recommend to anyone asking for a healthy place to eat! read more

The location is in a very popular area. The atmosphere is nice and the building/patio is cute for a nice photo op. However, I didn't sit inside on my visits. If you go please order the Mother Earth - delicious! I added salmon and almost passed out tasting the broccoli pesto. It's literally the best thing EVER! The "Forbidden" rice and Brussels sprouts are meh. I also love the chocolate chip cookies. They're also gluten free. This restaurant is definitely worth a try and I will be back! read more

It was a cute place in South End to try. It was our first visit so we didn't know what we wanted or how the restaurant was set up. We had the Teriyaki shrimp & avocado bowl, the only thing that was hot was the shrimp but they were good. We also had the salmon with the Brussel Sprouts & sweet potatoes, the salmon was hot but everything else was kind of warm. The atmosphere & decor is cute. No one checked on us during our meal but maybe that's just how the restaurant is set up. They had a lot of options that probably would accommodate everyone. I might try it again. read more

She just plainly said would you like to have three scallops added to your meal or a lobster tail now I understand that there are many people that would go in and not have a problem with the price however, it should be stated how much the up charge is going to be and it should be in writing on the menu because we looked back on the menu and there was not a price for up charge on the scallops . My friend was not happy with the service nor the cost of the scallops . The manager did not really know how to handle the situation but because I invited everyone I wanted to make it right and I asked to pay part of her bill and of course my friend denied and said it'd be best. If we just not come back she said the food wasn't bad the food was actually good however, the waitress was definitely not as friendly focused as she should have been and not willing to help make our experience the best I will say the manager should have been able to accommodate her request and move forward and be kind and understand her point. I will be back and I would love for my friends to come back. The ambiance was very nice and the drinks and food were good as well. Given the price and reputation from my past experiences, I was expecting top tier service, food, and ambience with a quality of fish second to none in the area. Let's break it down: We had a table of 3 and each ordered the signature tasting ($60 pp, a drink, and 2 extra items (one tuna roll and the Australian wagyu hot rock, ~$20 each) 1. Service Our waitress was kind and professional, but the overall cohesion of the staff seemed off and the wait times between courses was sporadic and often too long. It took about 30 minutes from ordering to get our first course which was... a salad wrap. Not only did this seem way too long, but it was extremely underwhelming for a top tier tasting menu experience (will come back to this in the food section). After that, some courses came out overlapping each other, and some were 10-15 min apart. This made it feel less like a fine dining tasting experience and more disorganized. On top of that, the server bringing the food to the table would explain each course in a rush and we could not hear them, meaning we did not know much about each dish. Lastly, our water was consistently empty and previous corse dishes were left on the table when new ones were served, which is a minor thing but should be standard at a fine dining restaurant. Knowing how blown away I was in Austin by the original restaurant, the overall service left me feeling disappointed in bringing my friends and hyping up the place for such an expensive meal. 2. Food Our tasting menu consisted of 7 courses including a salad wrap, tuna hamachi (cold), a sea bream role, ponzu glazed salmon (hot), 2 pieces of nigiri per person, brussel sprouts, and a dessert. Having 2 of 6 core dishes be a salad and veggie at a renowned seafood restaurant was disappointing, and these did not blow me a way at all and were average at best (salad was uninteresting, brussels were cold and too saucy). The sea bream role was also just average, but the tuna hamachi, salmon, and nigiri were excellent. I felt that the portion size was small for 3 people, it was marginally bigger than a 2 person tasting and that was also slightly disappointing. We each got to choose our own dessert which was nice and included a guava and banana cake which were excellent but much too big compared to the portions of the core dishes. We also ordered the additional tuna crunchy roll and hot rock wagyu which were excellent, and a much better value than the tasting portions. Overall, the food was still good, but I distinctly remember the few times I went to the Austin restaurant being absolutely blown away by the food quality, uniqueness, and menu selection, which was not the case here. I hope this improves in the future. 3. Ambience The adaptive reuse space was awesome and the look of the place is stellar. I loved how much seating and bar space there was and the overall lighting and mood was great. The only complaint I have here is that it was very loud making it hard to hear servers and each other over conversation. No one wants to be shouting over the ambient noise when paying $100+ for a meal. For context, we are late 20s, we are not shy to louder bars and restaurants, this was especially noisy. In general, I believe this place has a ton of potential and I really hope it improves in quality and value before I come back again. At present, I would not recommend the tasting menu and instead opt for individual dishes.

It's been my go-to spot for a quick bite with friends. I usually always order the Mother Earth bowl with either tofu or chicken . Parking was difficult, and I found the pricing excessive--adding five shrimp to a dish cost nearly half the price of the plate itself. Additionally, the rice was extremely dry, and the coconut sauce I was expecting was missing. Some of the leaves in the dish were dry and not fresh, in contrast to others that were fresh. It's a small dining area with soft lighting, making it very intimate. Nothing was overly loud or distracting and they encourage putting phones away, which adds to engaging with your party. In short, it felt like we could fully breathe and just enjoy our dinner. No worries or distractions in sight! We completely reccomend this place and bought the cookbook before leaving, because I was that good. P.S. Try the ravioli! It is a amazing!

800° Carolinas is not part of the 800° franchise. I found out the hard way. No HH available. I had…read moreresearched and pulled the franchise special information down. Either way I was seated inside. The AC wasn't working. It was hawt and that clay oven was fired up. I initially was seated in the sultry bar area where old school vibes radiated. It was dark and intense. I moved to the main dining area nestled in the corner. The windows were massive and let in copious amount of light and heat too, apparently. It was clean open and airy. Visual vibes of two distinct atmospheres. We tried the Meatballs and Wood-fired shishito peppers, with lemon tahini to start. The meatballs were moist but not seasoned. Definitely, prepackaged but had a beautiful display. The sauce was tart and seasoned but not overpowering or runny. I liked that. The ricotta allowed a richness to blend in each bite. I loved the visual. Unfortunately, I bit into foil or pan. I let the staff know and they replaced the dish. I tried the wood-fired Shishito peppers, with lemon tahini assuming they were spice or tart and they were neither. It was a large portion of peppers perfectly seared providing an aromatic invigorating experience. The tahini paired perfectly giving great flavor to a very subtle vegetable. I was pleasantly surprised. The Carolina Special was surprisingly good. I'm a default pepp girl but my friend only eats chicken. The 800º signature sweet & spicy base was good and sweet, and peppers gave a little spice. I was expecting vinegar based sauce but it wasn't tart at all. Ample chicken strung throughout each bite was amazing with a bit of sweet onion in every perfect bite. I got a cookie for my trouble. Which was a nice gesture. The ice cream was vanilla bean as I could see each dot but had no flavor as was the cookie. However, we ate each bite. So, there's that. Minus the foil hiccup the meal was pretty great. Even my PYT was strong and vibrant. My server was sweet. Very dedicated and efficient. Gave great customer service.

We always order the same two sandwiches and we share a half each, so we get the best of both worlds. I love the chicken sandwich as well the slaw really brightens up the chicken and the sauce also sets it off! We also got a house made juice it was green and the name is escaping me-- either way don't forget yours! The dragonfruit one is also delicious and very refreshing! I've had many yucca fries and these are the best. They're crispy and the sauce it comes with is perfection. I prefer the bowls over the sandwiches to minimize carbs. You can't go wrong with any of them. Key lime pie: I'm ordering this again. This Keylime pie beats any Keylime pie in the Key West. I like that the custard has some lime shavings for texture. I also appreciate that they use meringue instead of whipped cream. The dessert is perfectly tangy. Chocolate cake: it's a really good chocolate cake. It's such a simple dessert yet not everyone gets it right. I personally prefer the Keylime pie, but for the chocolate lovers, this might be the best chocolate cake. Santiago cake: a high protein cake with almond and eggs. I actually make this at home often but I wanted to compare mine with the restaurants. The texture was good, but it had a refrigerator taste to it which I didn't like.
