First time here and I have heard a lot about it not a super healthy person but doing an event next door and was hungry!! The place looks amazing super friendly and helpful staff BUT the food was not impressive to me. I got a steak wrap the wrap itself was nothing I had before was good the steak ok in like small shreds and not a big enough portion for price. There was supposed to be goat cheese barely a smear and it needed it for flavor as when I tasted it in the bite it was better to me. I asked for side of toast which was a nice bread but was not even given a little bit of butter or a jam just gave to me dry in a container. Nice iced tea good selections and the ToGo packaging was nice and food secure. My meal cost me $19 and I tipped so for the price and my portions just not worth it even if the cost was passed on to me due to products and ingredients they used it was still just a small wrap and a small side salad and toast! Most likely I won't come back not my kind of place but I would recommend for those that want a fun atmosphere and healthy options. It is expensive be prepared. read more

Flower Child definitely exceeded my expectations. I definitely was judging this book by it's cover when it was being built. With a name like Flower Child and healthy food in their tag line, I thought this was going to be another boring restaurant with bland, non-creative food. Much to my surprise, this place is anything but. The food here is so delicious and the menu offers a variety of fun flavor pairing and combinations. It's fast casual. This means that you don't need to be all fancy to come eat here. You walk-in, place your order at the counter, pay and you're given a number. You find a table, sit and they will bring your food to you. The offer vegetarian dishes and some gluten-free options. If you're a meatatarian like myself, they have protein options such as steak, chicken and salmon. The inside of the restaurant is very bring and cheery. Beware that parking is tight. It's located in South End on the corner where Phat Burrito use to be. There is a very small and I mean very small parking lot beside their building, that can hold about 4 cars. You'll have to find coveted street parking. I ordered the steak entree with mac and cheese and the watermelon and heirloom tomato salad. All entrees come with 2 sides and they have a robust variety of sides. The steak was well seasoned. They were not afraid to use salt and season this steak and I love it. Their steak is grass fed and grass finished. Unfamiliar with this term? This means that the cow where the steak comes from was fed grass all the way up to the slaughter. Some cows are grass-fed but aren't grass-finished. There's a difference-Google it. Their mac and cheese is made with gluten-free pasta but the texture of the pasta wasn't weird. The mac and cheese had really good flavor. It is made with 3 types of cheeses including parmesan cheese. The watermelon and heirloom salad was good too. The watermelon had salt on it and was paired with mint. They offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. They have some beers and sangria. For non-alcoholic bevies, they have tea, lemonades and an assortment of juices. Overall my experience here was really good and the food is really good and tasty. I will definitely keep this on my frequent fast casual dining list! read more

Boooo. This location suffers from corporate franchise pains. Like all great restaurant concepts, once they splinter off they go downhill and the Charlotte location is a great/poor example. Red Fox and the Fox Restaurant Concepts did a great job with the creation of Flower Child on Camelback in Phoenix. Thank you. It was our go-to many many many times. Loved it. Still like it, but it is worse. Once the restaurant branched out, and I think was sold off to another corporation (Cheesecake Factory?) that location was clearly different in subtle ways. Service, menu, prices, ordering process, and that flexibility that makes a good restaurant went downhill. Too bad. I found a Flower Child in Charlotte last month and went again last week. It blew me away that the Phoenix location was copied exactly, I mean in a creepy mirror image way. Those of you that live in the area and think Flower Child is your local awesome unique restaurant, sorry, it is a 100% clone, right down to the yoga mat basket by the door. I am giving a poop review because my last experience went like this. Walked in, and first thing I am asked when I want to order takeout is.... "phone number?" which is a sad way to greet customers. No thank you (and my phone was in the car) and I don't need any solicitations from your corporation. This was a hard stop for Flower Child. The poor kid locked up and didn't know what to do. So he eventually took my order as we shouted through masks trying to understand each other over the noise of the kitchen behind him and "ambiance" music, which I do like but uhhhhh, when you cannot communicate might want to rethink this. When my order came out it was associated with a different name and a 777-777-7777 phone number, so it sat there.... while I waited for my takeout. They of course blamed me sarcastically when I asked what the deal was as it was my fault for not giving my phone number (I was never asked for a name) as I assumed they got it off the credit card. Poor process. Pandemic, talent shortages, growing pains, all that... much respect, but corporate crap is corporate crap. read more

Tried this new-place-to-us place this afternoon. I expected it to be a full service restaurant. It's a casual dinning experience. Walk up, order, pay, and they run the food out to you. But the decor had a great light feel, the food was actually really good, and the service was outstanding. The greeter, the cashier/order taker, and the runner were all very pleasant and willing to help with anything. The tables that were designated as "create space" tables due to COVID-19 were thought fully decorated, not just some tape and signs to stay away. And, I loved that there was plenty of vegetarian options for my daughter! It was the perfect place to have Sunday lunch. Thank you Flower Child! read more

I really like Flower Child for their fresh food and fun vibe. Their menu has just enough variety for everyone and anyone, but it also isn't overwhelming. You can mix and match whatever sides you're in the mood for, and both the salmon and beef proteins were delicious; cooked perfectly a la minute. Really love the spicy eggplant and brussel sprouts as a side, but the quinoa is also good, and the salads are great too! Portions are on the smaller side so you won't have leftovers but it's honestly perfect for a healthy meal out that will leave you satisfied. read more

I would go here sooooooo much more if I didn't have to donate my kidney to afford it. Flower Child gets five stars because I love it so much, but I take away one invisible star because freedom isn't free. And you've got to pay to play. And all the low-hanging fruit has its hands tied. And you get what you pay for. And we've got to think outside the box and touch base to get aligned. It's not business, it's personal. I personally want to eat here once a week, but I'd end up living on the street corner outside after defaulting on my mortgage. It'd be worth it. read more

It's really good! If you want a healthy lunch or dinner & not just a salad or sandwich bar, this is great pick. The meat and veggies are very fresh and nicely prepared. Everything is either gluten free, or vegetarian, or both. So they're keeping food allergies and diets in mind. My go-to dish has been grilled chicken (not dry, nicely seasoned), and GF mac & cheese, a real channelling of youth. Gluten Free pasta can be grainy/mushy/off, but theirs, you'd never know it was. Their soups and avocado toast sandwiches are good, too. Great space and atmosphere. It's a bit $$ for what they have and parking in the area has been a pain in the A$s & that area is getting worse. Not FC's fault; they have a small lot, though it's always filled. Just a big annoyance of South End right now. read more

This place is great! If you are looking for a healthy alternative this is the place to go. Everything is super fresh and full of flavor. Since it's new you will have to wait longer than at another location around the south end area, but the waiting was doable. The place is super cute decorated and everyone who helped us had great customer service. I would say its an expensive place to dine out, but once in a while you need to treat yourself. The avocado hummus was definitely fantastic. I love that they added some tangerines in it and it gives it a unique flavor. I had the Mother Earth salad with salmon and it was so good!!!! I ordered the strawberry fields salad Togo. One of the things that attracted me to this salad was the pairing of arugula and strawberries, unfortunately there was no arugula in my salad which was a disappointment, and looks like they only cut up four strawberries. I also ordered the Mother Earth bowl, but could not finish eating it because it was drowning in salt. What's the point in trying to offer a healthy alternative to fast food if your just going to pour a pound of salt all over fresh ingredients. What a waste of money. read more

Vegan yummy-ness! The day after Christmas, my parents, hubby and I ventured to Charlotte for a day trip. Of course I'm with meat eaters and they were craving some famous chicken (poor chicken) but they were nervous I wouldn't find food--because I'm super strict with my whole food vegan lifestyle and try to avoid processed foods. As this discussion began, we all looked up and saw aa beautiful mural on the outside of a building with the words Flower Child. My dad instantly said well there's your restaurant--I mean how did he know, it could've been a butcher shop that tied up the meat like flower deliveries (yeah that's a stretch). But my peace, love, and vegan lifestyle I guess comes off as Flower Child. I ran inside (first to the bathroom--cmon, I have a small bladder) and was greeted by the staff. I knew this was a great place. There was flavored water, nice outdoor patio, and great photo ready picture walls. But the menu---yes!!! I asked what I could have as a vegan and out of the options I got the Glow Bowl. It was yummy! I was so excited to tear into it! I also mentioned that I live in DC so I don't know when I would return. To my surprise, I was told that it was a growing chain (side-note: I typically hate chain restaurants due to the low quality, highly processed food options) and theree were 2 in my area. The only sad thing was I was told about the $5 off of my first order if I downloaded the app after I paid. It's ok, I used it at thee DC location a few days later! So, download that app and head over to Flower Child even if you're not vegan. They have several meat options like a shrimp and chicken and more. By the way, the meat eaters who I traveled with came into the restaurant looking sad because their spot was closed for the holiday. I said "oh that's so sad, you can try a glow bowl". Lol read more

Flower Child is part of our regular rotation and a favorite in our household. The food is always great and makes you feel great about yourself after eating it. I was not big in cooked veggies but Flower Child's broccoli has converted me. I recommend this place to anyone looking for great quality, healthy food, for non-cheat days. read more

Great food! The waitress and hostess was exceptional. This was my first time eating at a vegan predominant restaurant and they didn't disappoint! The glow bowl, shrimp teriyaki, and steak was great. They took the COVID-19 pandemic into account by making sitting extremely accommodating for everyone. Definitely will be back! read more

I finally got to try this place yesterday. I was waiting for the opening crowd to die down. I love the location and how it's so close to many other cool places. There is a small parking lot, but you might have better luck finding parking on the street. There was a small line for Thursday night around 7:00PM and it went quickly. Everything on the menu looked delicious so it was hard to choose. I pulled up Yelp and went with the first item that was listed under popular - the Glow Bowl. You order at the counter and they give you number. I love how they provide infused water! And there were so many different types of teas. I hope to try them next time! The Glow Bowl tasted very healthy and fresh. I do have to say that it is a little pricey for the amount of food you get but I get it, high quality food costs more! Someone comes around and picks up your empty plates and trash afterwards. The place itself is super cute and bright. I loved the patio area and how dog friendly it is. The little pup at the next table was adorable! I hope to come back and try their other items soon! read more

Oh, man - what a great addition to the Charlotte food scene!! I had dinner here on a Thursday night and came back the next day for lunch -- yum! For dinner, I went with the salmon entree, indian-spiced cauliflower and tomato watermelon salad. The salmon was tender and juicy, the cauliflower was a show-stopper and the tomato watermelon salad was light and refreshing. The next day, I had a chopped salad with chicken that was prepared perfectly. I love the interior and patio seating. There are so many options to choose from on the menu. I can't wait to go back!! read more

Being a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for good vegetarian restaurants. The first thing I noticed when I walked into this place was the amount of options they had for vegans and vegetarians, and I was very impressed. I got their spicy coconut curry, and was not disappointed. It was very flavorful and tasted great. However the portion size was not too big and I was still a little bit hungry afterwards. The overall ambience of the restaurant is great, and I will definitely be coming back here in the future. read more

Great food. Incompetent otherwise. Called and spoke with their manager one evening. Placed a pickup order for noon the next day. Arrived and there was no order with my name on it. Talked to the manager working at that time. She couldn't find it so placed a new order and told me it would be 20 mins. 40 mins later I walked out. I hate to be this person but I have no idea why this place gets hyped up so much. It has to be the aesthetic or something, because the restaurant is cute, but the food is pretty average. I got the Mother Earth and it was fine. Not bad but like ...nothing special. And I got brussel sprouts that were so salty, I couldn't eat them. The sweet corn and quinoa was really good though. It's a cute spot, just not worth the hype in my honest opinion. read more

YUM! This was my first time here and the food was great! The vegetables were flavored so nicely and the salads were very fresh and crisp. We ordered the roasted broccoli, sweet potatoes and salmon; the turkey and avocado cobb salad and the avocado caesar salad w/ shrimp. The salmon was a little dry but everything else was very tasty. I can't wait to go back here to try out more items on the menu. The staff was friendly and very helpful. read more

She just plainly said would you like to have three scallops added to your meal or a lobster tail now I understand that there are many people that would go in and not have a problem with the price however, it should be stated how much the up charge is going to be and it should be in writing on the menu because we looked back on the menu and there was not a price for up charge on the scallops . My friend was not happy with the service nor the cost of the scallops . The manager did not really know how to handle the situation but because I invited everyone I wanted to make it right and I asked to pay part of her bill and of course my friend denied and said it'd be best. If we just not come back she said the food wasn't bad the food was actually good however, the waitress was definitely not as friendly focused as she should have been and not willing to help make our experience the best I will say the manager should have been able to accommodate her request and move forward and be kind and understand her point. I will be back and I would love for my friends to come back. The ambiance was very nice and the drinks and food were good as well. Given the price and reputation from my past experiences, I was expecting top tier service, food, and ambience with a quality of fish second to none in the area. Let's break it down: We had a table of 3 and each ordered the signature tasting ($60 pp, a drink, and 2 extra items (one tuna roll and the Australian wagyu hot rock, ~$20 each) 1. Service Our waitress was kind and professional, but the overall cohesion of the staff seemed off and the wait times between courses was sporadic and often too long. It took about 30 minutes from ordering to get our first course which was... a salad wrap. Not only did this seem way too long, but it was extremely underwhelming for a top tier tasting menu experience (will come back to this in the food section). After that, some courses came out overlapping each other, and some were 10-15 min apart. This made it feel less like a fine dining tasting experience and more disorganized. On top of that, the server bringing the food to the table would explain each course in a rush and we could not hear them, meaning we did not know much about each dish. Lastly, our water was consistently empty and previous corse dishes were left on the table when new ones were served, which is a minor thing but should be standard at a fine dining restaurant. Knowing how blown away I was in Austin by the original restaurant, the overall service left me feeling disappointed in bringing my friends and hyping up the place for such an expensive meal. 2. Food Our tasting menu consisted of 7 courses including a salad wrap, tuna hamachi (cold), a sea bream role, ponzu glazed salmon (hot), 2 pieces of nigiri per person, brussel sprouts, and a dessert. Having 2 of 6 core dishes be a salad and veggie at a renowned seafood restaurant was disappointing, and these did not blow me a way at all and were average at best (salad was uninteresting, brussels were cold and too saucy). The sea bream role was also just average, but the tuna hamachi, salmon, and nigiri were excellent. I felt that the portion size was small for 3 people, it was marginally bigger than a 2 person tasting and that was also slightly disappointing. We each got to choose our own dessert which was nice and included a guava and banana cake which were excellent but much too big compared to the portions of the core dishes. We also ordered the additional tuna crunchy roll and hot rock wagyu which were excellent, and a much better value than the tasting portions. Overall, the food was still good, but I distinctly remember the few times I went to the Austin restaurant being absolutely blown away by the food quality, uniqueness, and menu selection, which was not the case here. I hope this improves in the future. 3. Ambience The adaptive reuse space was awesome and the look of the place is stellar. I loved how much seating and bar space there was and the overall lighting and mood was great. The only complaint I have here is that it was very loud making it hard to hear servers and each other over conversation. No one wants to be shouting over the ambient noise when paying $100+ for a meal. For context, we are late 20s, we are not shy to louder bars and restaurants, this was especially noisy. In general, I believe this place has a ton of potential and I really hope it improves in quality and value before I come back again. At present, I would not recommend the tasting menu and instead opt for individual dishes.

The ice cream was vanilla bean as I could see each dot but had no flavor as was the cookie. However, we ate each bite. So, there's that. Minus the foil hiccup the meal was pretty great. Even my PYT was strong and vibrant. My server was sweet. Very dedicated and efficient. Gave great customer service.

Let me start off by saying that this place is so unassuming. Like how delightful can sandwiches…read morereally be? Extremely. My husband and I have been to this restaurant about five times now. We always order the same two sandwiches and we share a half each, so we get the best of both worlds. The steak is perfectly cooked to a delicious and tender medium, the chunks of meet are so tender and delicious and the sauce just sends it over the edge! I love the chicken sandwich as well the slaw really brightens up the chicken and the sauce also sets it off! We also got a house made juice it was green and the name is escaping me-- either way don't forget yours! The dragonfruit one is also delicious and very refreshing! This place will have you full off of there very generous portions. It looks like it's not a lot but you'll be walking away with a full belly wondering how a Peruvian sandwich could be so GOOD?!

I've had many yucca fries and these are the best. They're crispy and the sauce it comes with is perfection. I prefer the bowls over the sandwiches to minimize carbs. You can't go wrong with any of them. Key lime pie: I'm ordering this again. This Keylime pie beats any Keylime pie in the Key West. I like that the custard has some lime shavings for texture. I also appreciate that they use meringue instead of whipped cream. The dessert is perfectly tangy. Chocolate cake: it's a really good chocolate cake. It's such a simple dessert yet not everyone gets it right. I personally prefer the Keylime pie, but for the chocolate lovers, this might be the best chocolate cake. Santiago cake: a high protein cake with almond and eggs. I actually make this at home often but I wanted to compare mine with the restaurants. The texture was good, but it had a refrigerator taste to it which I didn't like.
