Ordered a Chopped Vegetable Salad with Salmon, a Grilled Chicken Thish "Yaki" Noodles, and Yuzu Brussel Sprouts. All delicious actually. Why 2 stars? We sat outside in the sun (lower level). After a minute, my butt started feeling really cold. Then the person sitting at the next table said, "It's wet!" I stood up, and indeed my butt was soaking. A woman at another table then said the same thing happened to her. I went to the cashier and told them what happened. Her response was that it had probably rained. I then suggested they put up a sign so it didn't happen to others - since it looked dry but was soaking. She said that seemed like a good idea and would let a manager know so a sign would be put up. Twenty five minutes later no one had come out, and no sign. So I went up to another person at a cash register, who seemed to be a manager - and told her. And suggested again that they put up a sign. She clearly had not been told of the issue. Her response was similar - sort of acknowledged the issue and said something would be done. Healthy food, great outdoor seating and atmosphere and friendly service! We always stop at Flower Child when we're in the Del Mar area. It is a little pricey, but it's so good! The Mother Earth is typically our go-to bowl but this time we branched out and tried some new sides and a wrap. The Thai Dye was delicious! Loved the wrap and the tofu was cooked perfectly with a little kick and crunch from the snap peas. The sides are always a favorite of ours -- you can't beat the corn and quinoa side and the sweet potatoes are wonderful! Also, make sure to try their iced teas and lemonades! We usually make an Arnold Palmer and mix a couple together. Love the patio to enjoy your food, it can busy on weekends so just plan accordingly. Oh how I wish there was a Flower Child closer to me but it is definitely a treat whenever I make it up to the Del Mar area. I will say I have been to a couple different locations in Arizona but I always end up going for the same thing. This place hands down has the best broccoli ever and I am typically not a big broccoli fan and I would devour this every day! I go for the entrée option with some sides typically between the salmon and the steak which are both always great. Like I said the broccoli is the bomb don't miss out on it and you can't go wrong with the golden smashed potatoes. Such a good and easy meal that I love to enjoy when I can! read more

A gluten-free chocolate chip cookie also comes with the meal. $15 before tax. Steak plate: it comes with broccoli, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. A pretty delicious meal if I do so say myself; the mac n cheese having a sharp white cheddar taste to it, the mashed potatoes being buttery, the steak having a nice charred (not burnt lol) flavor, and the broccoli.....being broccoli lol. Sangria: this was pretty tasty as well.....though I feel like they added the tiniest drop of alcohol into it lol it almost tasted like a mocktail (and this is coming from a lightweight). But a refreshing fruity beverage nonetheless. Cookie: okay I'm going to be honest here.....I thought they just threw it into the meal because they figured they needed to put in a dessert of any form. But holy moly the cookie is delicious!! Chewy, chocolately, not overly sweet. I ended up buying a couple of them on the way out haha. We just love this restaurant! The ambiance inside is really welcoming and playful. Everything we've ordered has been delicious, the chicken enchiladas and the brussel sprout salad are definitely a fave, the salmon is great, my kids can't get enough of their grilled chicken, and really liked the sweet potato fries. My lunch date enjoyed the Flying Avacado Wrap, which was yummy as well. Both came with a spring mix, that had little to no dressing. We chose sides of sweet potato fries and gluten free Mac and cheese, both were small but delicious. The portions aren't tremendously large, but they are fresh, and delicious. The glow bowl is great. It tastes like a thai noodle dish with peanut sauce but with more veggies and the noodles are sweet potato noodles. The Turkey Avocado Wrap was delicious and the Organic Kale salad was just okay. They are open during quarantine and have lots of spread out seating. I recommend sitting outside for more air flow. This place is definitely colorful and fun. I loved the vibe and was excited to try something as it was my first time there. My friend ordered a brussels & squash salad with salmon, I ordered a teriyaki shrimp & avocado bowl, two drinks, and we split a hummus plate with veggies & pita. It ended up being pretty pricey. My friend's salad was listed on the menu as having arugula, roasted brussels, butternut squash, organic apple, ancient grain, cranberry, goat cheese, sprouted almond, and chia seed vinaigrette. Her salad came out with a bunch of romaine lettuce and no arugula, apple, cranberry, or cheese. As far as my bowl, there was no bok choy in it at all. There was lettuce too, but not nearly as much as my friend had. I thought the shrimp was good. There were a few pieces of snap peas and three slices of carrots at most. We both thought the hummus could have had more of something like salt. It was super bland. We did like the rose lemonade. I wouldn't necessarily pick this place to come back to, but I'd be open to trying something else on the menu at some point. I would probably go to Urban Plates instead. read more

April 2019 Can I move in? Visiting from out of town and this is exactly how I like to eat. We loved everything we got and the food couldn't have been tastier or fresher. Can't wait to return when I'm back in town. October 2019- Returned 6 months later and it was as good as I remembered. Plus, we were a group of 5 and one of the dishes was too spicy and for her taste and another was incorrectly made with cheese and the manager was awesome. Had them quickly remake. The food here is always consistently very tasty. Some would argue that the portions are on the smaller side for the price, but I think the quality justifies the price. However, I have run into operational issues frequently - long waits, missing items after the order is placed, etc. After encountering one of these issues today, Ashley went out of her way to make up for it. It was refreshing to see someone care so much about the service for a change. Ashley is a gem of an employee and saved Flower Child from losing a customer.
