Love the avocado hummus! Tried the Mai Thai wrap with tofu and really enjoyed it. Wasn't my favorite wrap but would order it again. One of my favorite lighter Mac & cheese. Super cute restaurant. This beautifully created eatery was on my list for the last couple of months. Unfortunately the wait to eat felt just as long. When I finally ordered, it took over twenty minutes for my toast to arrive. When it finally did arrive, the toast itself was less than a quarter on an inch thick. They did slice it but since it was so thin, all the goodies fell over the bent toast. Good food but a little disappointed with the turn over time for a order. Watch out Local Foods! You've got some new competition in town. The offerings here were fresh and delightful. First of all, the crushed avocado toast was surprisingly flavorful. The taste was much more complex than the listed ingredients and I would highly recommend it! As for the main course, the sweet corn & quinoa and the chili glazed sweet potato both were exceptional and unique in their own way. Though the mash potato was unremarkable and the spicy cauliflower was a little dry. The major setbacks were probably the proteins. The steak was pretty chewy and plain and the salmon was descent, but nothing impressive. I'd definitely recommend this place for a quick bite, but not quite on my dinner list. I wish Flower Child had more options. When I come here it's for one of two dishes I enjoy here. It gets pretty boring quickly. However those two dishes are delicious if the right hands make them. There's a bit of inconsistency every time we come and this is in all locations I've tried throughout Texas. I do love their decor and appreciate that they filter their water. Flower Child comes from the creators of North Italia and I can see the resemblance. The food here is fresh, tasty, and creative. Dishes are on the small side so you get to try more (and pay more). It's counter order style but they don't seem to compromise like the typical mediocre fast casual joint. Hot food actually comes out hot. Favorites so far: the Sweet Corn & Quinoa w/ Greek yogurt! It's brilliant and somehow makes quinoa delicious. Also the Spicy Japanese Eggplant, Sichuan Green Beans, and Red Chili Glazed Sweet Potato, which all came out with great high-heat flavor. While I'm definitely a fan of the food, I probably wouldn't come back unless I was in the area. I dropped $20 on lunch and still left hungry. It would be nice if either prices were a bit lower or portions were a little bigger. Or if plates came with rice on the side, I'd be a happy diner! read more

I didn't quite love it as much as I had hoped. It was a very cute restaurant, fresh and hip feel but the food was very eh. It's a pick your entries and protein kind of food, if you want more than a salad. I selected the Mac & Cheese, Quinoa & Rice and the Tofu. Everything I selected was ok except the Tofu, I love tofu and I couldn't finish mine. I can safely say I will never select that again. I do want to go back and try something else. Matt ordered the spinach, avocado and broccoli with the Tofu too, and his was allnok too. He said he didn't mind the Tofu so much, but definitely didn't think it was great. Anyway, I was disappointed, he was t expecting that much so he wasn't impressed nor disappointed. My overall experience was very confusing because a friend of mine said it was so good. Great place for lunch! The food and service are great. We came in right when it opened at 11am & there was a line to get it! Moved very quickly. We got assigned our table and started to order. We got the chicken & white bean soup, Mediterranean salad, & pick two plate (Brussel sprouts & Indian cauliflower) with chicken. Soup was awesome! Def recommend it! Full of flavor and had plenty of chicken in it! I liked the portion of the salad, and it was very filling and fresh. Loved the ingredients and the chicken tasted fresh as well! Huge fan of the plates! The cauliflower had lots of flavor and was cooked very nicely. Brussel sprouts were good too! And of course the chicken was solid. Love the theme of this restaurant as well. I just moved to Houston from Phoenix and am so happy a part of home is in my new city!! The vibe is amazing and compliments the healthy food they serve. Very artsy, fresh and unique. Great place to enjoy a quick, yummy lunch or get some dinner to go! We started with the avocado hummus and wow I got a plate with salmon, Mac n cheese, cauliflower and glazed sweet potatoes. It was so much food, i couldn't even finish it! The salmon was so moist and flavorful. My boyfriend got a wrap (we forgot the name) but it's protein was chicken and it also had pesto in it. Hello Yelpers! This is a very cute chic spot and I wish I could say the food was decent but it wasn't. It is a pricey place to dine for a casual spot and the portions weren't as big. Our sides was a lot more than our protein portions. I am so glad we signed up on ebite for that $10off20 or else our lunch would have been close to $40 total which was definitely not worth it. So the avacado toast was the only thing I enjoyed and it was $7.50. Pricey! I had the chicken plate with yuzu brussels sprouts and steamed broccoli. My chicken was dry and flavorless. Brussel sprouts with the yuzu ingredient to me didn't go well together. I've had a lot better brussel sprouts elsewhere. My fiancé had the steak plate with the cauliflower and corn quinoa. So we asked the cashier about the corn quinoa and how it was and she said it tastes like the cream corn from Rudy's bbq. Well it tastes nothing like it and I'm very glad it was not like the cream corn at Rudy's. It actually wasn't bad and I enjoyed this side more than the brussel sprouts and cauliflower but you have to like sweet foods to like it and I do prefer salty over sweet. The steak was also dry and bland. I don't know why they serve their steak plate sliced. I hope it was flank, skirt, or hangar steak because those cuts benefit from slicing or carving. Whatever cut it was, it was dry and bland. So usually I would always give brand new restaurants a couple of tries and this was my first time.
