I was really fortunate to be able to visit during friends and family day. I'm a vegetarian and ordered all of the vegetarian dishes. The salad was amazing. Probably one of the freshest salads I've had in years. The person I came with ordered the salmon and she loved it. We ended up having dessert. I don't think I've ever order chocolate pudding, but there's was so delicious. The chips and queso dip were also super yummy. The staff was awesome. So friendly and helpful. Everyone was smiling. We were needing a restaurant that would have options for different dietary needs and this one fit the bill. There was a line waiting to order food at the counter, but a hostess came by to assign us a table while we were waiting. That way, after we ordered we had a place to sit and wait till our food was ready. The menu choices were great, and there was something for everyone. I ordered grilled chicken with two sides and it was all delicious. Everyone else enjoyed what they'd ordered as well--salads, wraps, and bowls. The staff was all friendly and helpful, even while they were so busy. We sat inside, but there was also outdoor seating. The only complaint I'd have is that it was fairly noisy indoors, not much to absorb the sound of the many voices. I'm glad to welcome this restaurant! read more

Ok so I'm already biased to Flower Child. One of my childhood friends took me here probably 5 years ago in Phoenix and I always try to go there every time I'm visiting her. The food was crazy good and such a good option to go to if you are "eating out" while not making you feel guilty afterwards. The price point is mid tier, but honestly with prices to other places in the same vein and with inflation, it is comparable. Got invited to their soft opening 4/1/23... lots to love! Please reference the half-dozen pics I included! As you can see from the slightly difficult to decipher menu, their five appetizers run across the top inch. Below that are all of their main courses. There are four groups: salads, bowls, wraps, and stand-alone entrees. With the salads/bowls each has their "plain" pricing and then each can have one of 5 different protein options added (chicken, steak, salmon, shrimp; veggie) for an additional 3.75 - 6.95. Wraps have all ingredients predetermined (protein and add-ins). Finally, the entree group comes with one of the previous five proteins pre-optioned and they range from $13.50 to $16.50 depending on that protein. But the entrees include Two additional small sides from among a delicious choice of 10. And they are served in softly sloping wide bowls. We solicited advice from several of the staff (Kara was amazing!) before putting together a broad sampling that included a salmon entree with mac/cheese and Sichuan green beans; and a steak entree with cauliflower risotto and smashed potato. The staff was spot-on with the delicately whipped mashed potatoes. However, the inventive risotto cauliflower was my fav - it consisted of crumbled cauliflower blended into a (seemingly) traditional risotto-style sauce. Both it and the mashed potatoes complimented the eight, thin, 1x2-inch pre-sliced pieces of medium steak perfectly. Regarding the other entree, the roughy 3 oz piece of skinless/boneless salmon was a bit dry, perhaps overcooked, but otherwise good. The mac/cheese was outstanding, with Rotini style noodles (one of my favorite) and white cheddar/parmesan. We both raved that it wasn't swimming in cheap, velveta-esque cheese, rather it felt and tasted like authentically melted "harder" cheeses (which they were). Bonus (and you can't even tell!) the Rotini is gluten-free. The Sichuan green beans were cooked perfectly - still a good bit of crunch, not limp. The crushed peanuts were a nice touch, however the sauce was waaaay too salty. For appetizers we were encouraged to try the avocado hummus and the green chili queso. The hummus tasted just like humus but with a light green tint and modest flavoring of avocado. By default it comes with pita wedges. Unnoticed by us was that for $3.25 more you could substitute a small bowl of raw veggies (carrots (orange; red; white!) broccoli, and cucumbers) instead of the pita. I lamented that oversight and Kara took care of us by bringing another appetizer, this time with the veggie bowl! I think this is the way to go - in part to limit those carbs but more so because of the creative veggie options! The chili queso was our favorite. The cheese/sauce is not too spicy and there's a tiny bit of crumbled (bbq?) tofu atop (nifty). It comes with chips by default but goes equally well with the pita bread from the humus app or (+$3) you can also get the veggie bowl substituted instead of the chips. Of course, for the soft opening, they comped drinks for us too and we chose the kombucha that they have delivered on tap(!) and a glass of their black cherry sangria. We were both really impressed by the quality of each. The kombucha keg will rotate but today it was a red/berry flavor - not too sweet, not too tart, and nicely carbonated. Very drinkable and delivered in small (10 oz?) but filled-to the-brim mason jars. The sangria comes with a slice of orange and consisted of nice black cherry and red wine flavors - also not too sweet and also not bitter/tannin-rich... smooth! I think they need a pitcher option, especially come summer! There are teas and lemonades that are made in-house, in addition to an assortment of bottled drinks. Parking is free/easy all around the establishment. The decor is boho/elegant and the silverware is unexpectedly substantial and handsome. Tables are ample but a bit close together (indoors) and make hearing your neighbor's convos far too easy (no holding hush-money deals here, Lol). The covered outdoor tables are spaced slightly further apart but could be chilly in January and hot in July. All around, a great, upscale fast food concept. Will definitely be back! read more

The Steak entree was not enough the carb to starch potion was not great. I wish I had more steak. I left a little hungry but overall the dish was very flavorful. I went to their soft opening today. Service was great. They were very engaging, explained how seating and ordering worked and they were very attentive throughout the meal. I had the rebel wrap, seasonal lemonade (rose), and lemon olive oil cake. The wrap was okay. Not a lot of steak, didn't taste the horseradish, but the cheese and onion saved the dish with their added flavor. Th e rose lemonade just tasted like lemonade, I didn't get any floral notes. The lemon olive cake is amazing. I would go back just for that and nothing else. This is pretty much "Californian Vegetarian" with add protein options. Which means a lot of quinoa, chickpea, and cauliflower. Which isn't a bad thing, it just means they mostly season their food with lemon and various vinegars. This restaurant gives very healthy options on their menu. I chose Flying Avocado. It had smoked turkey, gouda, romaine, tomato, avocado hummus. This wrap was awesome! They even had some type of vinaigrette dressing on the greens. It also came with a side of greens and the same type of dressing. Well I tried this place today. I can't decide whether to give it a good review or a bad one. I had a salad called the turkey chop. It was 15 bucks before tax. Then just to get a carbonated water was another 5 bucks. So 20 bucks for a small salad and a water. And of course their credit card machine wants to know if you want to tip 15, 20,25 or 30 percent. For ordering at a cash register! The salad was very good, no doubt. Problem is that it was the size of any normal restaurant's side salad. Atmosphere was nice there. So the salad was tasty and the atmosphere was nice. There really wasn't any service to speak of. The price really ruined it from the beginning though. They're not the only salad place in town. As a matter of fact, there are much better places that specialize in salad, make just as good if not better salads and do it for half the price. I mean, how are ya gonna charge 20 bucks for a salad and a water. There's gotta be something special about the place and I just wasn't seeing it here. read more

I had first been to the Scottsdale location a year ago before the Flower Child opened here in Tucson, and I loved the fresh and sumptuous Glow Bowl then. So when I heard from the waiter at North the same owner was opening one in Tucson I was thrilled. My friend happened to order the same tasty Glow Bowl I had had, a nice balance of sweet potato noodles, and veggies like bok choy, zucchini, jalapeño, and shiitake mushroom. The creamy nutty sauce of coconut milk and sunflower butter complete the bowl. This time I got the Chopped Vegetable salad ($10.95) with a side of salmon ($6.95). It was a delicious salad, but the salmon was a disappointment - a tiny, slightly dry portion (I doubt it weighed 3 oz) that seemed like it had been sitting around awhile(?). At any rate for a $19 salad (w tax) I don't think it was worth it. Still, the taste of the miso dressing and veggies were delicious, so I'll be back to try the many other awesome and healthy items on their menu. One note about the atmosphere-it's a very busy and bustling place that can get loud inside, with seating pretty close. I prefer the misty patio if it's not too hot outside. Friendly and fast servers made this a solid 4 experience. It may go up to 5 after I've been there a few more times. :) read more

Service is speedy and efficient. And the pick up options are frankly awesome. So easy and convenient! My only complaint/suggestion is that they expand the outdoor seating and create a covered patio with misters so there is more comfortable (and shady) outside space to sit! My favorite is the chicken yakisoba bowl, one thing that bothers me is the three times I ordered curbside pickup so far they were running really behind. The first time wasn't an issue since they were really busy but the next two times it was really annoying, I got my food way after it said it would be ready. one time when I called to say I was there they told me my food would be out in "just a couple minutes" and I ended up waiting 17 minutes when it wasn't even busy.
