Don't bother. You're better off buying a pack of Oreos at Safeway. I had the chocolate croissant, and it tasted awful, tasted like a loaf of bread. Add about a tablespoon of chocolate in it. Very disappointed. I called to ask the refund policy and currently there is not one. The bottom of the croissant tasted like toasted coconut. Too bad. Finally gave in and bought a treat from here for this evening's dessert. We decided on getting a mini burnt almond torte to split. Just finished devouring it even though neither one of us was really hungry. It was just the right amount of light vanilla cake, crunchy toasted almonds, and perfectly sweetened fluffy whipped cream - absolutely amazing! Stopped by this past Saturday afternoon, was thrilled to see they still have scones! Normally go to the Willow Glen location where they sell out quickly, Ordered 3 scones, a raspberry bar, a chocolate croissant, and an almond croissant. The brunette staff member was putting in a tiny box. I asked her for a larger box because I didn't want anything crushed. She promptly said are you ordering anything else.... She continued to place item in. She squeezed the top and bottom box to place the sticker. When opened later of course part of scone was broken off, raspberry bar was smooshed, and the majority of almonds were now in the box rather than on the pastry. What poor service! Especially when presentation of elevated pastries is what you are purchasing. read more

I love this place. Im so glad they are in the prune yard too. The Illy's coffee alone is a great reason to drop in. Great place to relax have a coffee and people watch... It's in the best area of the P Yard. Now, the cakes... The best, personally the burnt almond is my favorite and the cheese cake is amazing too. The pastries are always fresh and taste terrific. The staff are extremely professional and customer focused... That's hard to find these days... My wife will be ordering a custom cake soon for our anniversary, I'll follow up about that later on. On every occasion, each product my family has chosen is 80% hard-pressed flour crust (hence the name?!), 15% actual filling, and 5% I don't even know. If you're into desserts and pastries that'll have you clawing for a puddle of water or nearby fire hydrant condensation to satiate the ensuing dryness in your mouth, this is your bakery. Want a lemon bar with negligible lemon?? Flower Flour is your spot. Want an apple tart with a 2" pressed sawdust crust with a smattering of thin apple slices?? They gotchu. How 'bout a piece of Hazelnut Crunch cake that looks delicious on display?? Don't be fooled, Friend. Call your oral surgeon first, cause that bad boy confection is coming in cold, hard, and thick as spackle, baby! I had to ask myself how they're still around if every time we've visited, we're tossing our half-eaten purchases into nearby garbage bins while swearing we'll never go again. poor customer service and terrible drink. I ordered a iced Carmel latte and ask the cashier (young lady with glasses) if they had whip cream. She confirmed they did. Her Demeanor felt very unwelcoming. Once i received my ice coffee, it looked more like a milky tea. I asked for whip cream in which she stated they had non. She continued to roll her eyes at me as i explained our misunderstanding. She said, She thought i asked for creamer. She then gave me a cup of warm coffee to mix with my Ice coffee. Wish I could give this place a 0. Came in for some dessert after dinner. Employees don't wear masks or gloves when handling cakes. I had to ask her to give me a new cheesecake when I noticed her fingers (which she used to touched her hair and fix her makeup) dipped into the cheesecake. No apology. Which was fine. Until another employee doubled charged me for the cheesecake. They were unable to issue me a refund - excuse being no manager on location for the weekend of July 4th and it wasn't their problem. I don't understand how this place operates. But please use gloves when handling food. I tipped them and seriously feel ripped off for terrible service and disgusting food handling. read more

I truly had high hopes for Flower Flour, given the beautiful presentations of their desserts and pastries. However I was so disappointed in the lack of quality and taste. I ordered the lemon bar, chocolate cake and tiramisu cake. The lemon bar was pretty basic, and the crust tasted mostly of butter. The chocolate and tiramisu cakes were bland and unfortunately tasted like they had been on display for a few days. The chocolate cake was dry and crumbly and the cream in the tiramisu cake did not taste fresh. I haven't tried their actual cakes, so I can't judge there. But from the dessert/cookies/bars perspective, I don't recommend this bakery. read more

However, the customer service is the worst we've EVER had. And we've come here more than 5 times already, so this is not an isolated incident... The ladies are always unwelcoming and they don't even say hello or thank you. For a bakery where you go to treat yourself with something sweet customer experience it's part of the whole deal. I don't know who's the owner of this place but I would say please take a walk and see how the customers react and how your staff is behaving and I would bet you could be making a lot more money and making the whole place and customer experience so much nicer. read more

11/14. I was so excited to visit this beautiful bakery as I often visited the Flower Flour in Willow Glen. I was the only customer inside the bakery...the first customer of the day. The elderly, foreign overweight lady (no name tag) was texting and talking on her phones (2 phones) and I waited 20 minutes to get her attention. We were less than 5 feet apart - face to face - from each other. Could she not see me? I figured she was busy or trying to solve a work issue as she spoke on her phone in a foreign language - while texting on her other phone. No, this was probably a personal call. When she finally looked up to see me - standing at the counter - she was very rude and just starred at me. I smiled at her and told her this was my first visit to the Pruneyard Flower Flour and the bakery was lovely. She said she was the "owner" and she had purchased the bakery 2+ years ago. Really? She could care less. NO smile, no communication - no thank you for coming in - just stares- as if I was interrupting her morning. She started to walk to the back of the bakery - when I asked her if I could order something? She said "Let's get to it". WHAT. Who hires people like this & she is the owner? I ordered a lemon bar and apricot bar - both very, very stale. Neither cookie bar had any flavor and were as hard as rocks. I asked if I could try/sample/buy another lemon bar and said "NO" - stating she was very busy. She had plenty of lemon bars in the glass case. I think she knew the bars were stale and just wanted to get rid of me. I was still the only customer in the bakery. I asked if they served coffee and she said "NO". They were already out of coffee early in the morning - or not making any? I'll never visit this bakery again. The service was very unprofessional and the pastry bars were terrible. Thinking I'd give her another chance - as I was trying to be friendly, I asked her about some of the special cakes and she said she didn't have time to talk or tell me anything more. WHAT! Very poor service. I will not return. They will not last in the Pruneyard. Very sad. read more

I have seen this location before and its usually very busy. Finally I got to stop by Flour flower and just missed the rush. Good thing because they just filled the cases with more yummy desserts. The dessert are so good, my favorite is the tiramisu and macaroons. The young ladies are all so sweet and very helpful. I would definitely stop at this location again. read more
