This low rating is mostly due to the poor customer service we received at around 8pm on 9/3 Saturday. I get it, you've been working for hours and it's an hour before closing, you are tired. The lady with glasses that served us looked like she was MISERABLE. I do not want to enter a store and purchase over-priced desserts by someone who looks like she is visibly upset with every small question I asked. No thank you, nothing, felt rushed to order and get out. I understand the labor force is shrinking and your staff options are few, but I'd rather order a twinkie from a vending machine than order from this lady again. I am not happy right now with this bakery. we had a cake from them once so we ordered two cakes for my kids first and second birthday party via Doordash. on doordash, we very clearly spelt out their names, and their names were spelled corrected in the receipt for the order. When we opened the cakes, not only was my one sons name dripping and tough to read (A's and O's looked the same) but they literally put the WRONG name on the second cake. my son is named Cal and they literally wrote Carl. and he's a jr., so it literally says Carl Jr. like the fast food restaurant. I called and complained and they told me the best they could do for me was 20% off my next order. as if I'll be ordering from them again. honestly, this was so embarrassing and not what I wanted on my sons first birthday party. Came here with my girlfriends after dinner for a sweet treat. I loved the layout/decor of the bakery. You can actually see some of the sculpted cakes they make! I grabbed a table and let my friends grab their treats first while I glanced at their selections. When they came back I took a look for me and to get something for my hubz. Being pregnant chocolate is my best friend LOL I have been loving dark chocolate, and their signature Flower Flour chocolate slice caught my eye. For hubby, he loves tiramisu so I got him one from the case. I took my treats home to share , and we destroyed them LOL Hubby loved the flavor of their tiramisu. It had the perfect balance of flavor and the cake was moist. The chocolate slice was great! I loved the top layer especially. The chocolate cake though did seem a bit dry. Not sure if it's because I picked it up towards closing or just the denseness of the chocolate. This review is for their service only. I went on a Sunday afternoon; a few people were eating there; not too busy. I haven't been back for awhile since I moved out of the area more than a year ago, so I had a few questions about the cakes. The first question was fine but then when I asked more, one of the staff seemed a bit inpatient and told me those cakes I asked about were all made basically the same way. I was actually trying to ask what flavor of the sponge cake was used in each cake (bottom half of the cake was wrapped so i couldn't see) and obviously the sponge cake used in an almond cake was different than in a chocolate cake. I just wanted to get cakes for my parents so I proceeded to check out after ordering my cakes anyway. When I was in front of the checkout machine with the same staff who "answered" my questions earlier, he skipped something on the screen so quick I couldn't see what it exactly was and then reached the payment step. I paid with my credit credit and then remembered I used to punch in my phone number to collect points. When I asked him about it, he told me I needed to enter it before I paid. I told him you skipped something on the screen and went straight to the payment step; I didn't get a chance to enter my number. He looked back at me without saying anything and wasn't trying to help solve the problem at all. I had other errands to run, so I left without saying anything more. The cakes are fine but the service sucks! Because of the poor customer service, I will not be back. There are better options out there. read more

By now we already tried a few: tiramisu cake (awful, no flavor/taste, probably one of the worst I've ever had), almond croissant (good), mango tango (no mango flavor) and love after dark (ok). We were super disappointed with the cakes. I think pastries *might* be their strong products. I heard good things about this bakery but unfortunately not as good as you'd think. In addition, their staff isn't friendly and they treat you like if they were doing you a favor, terrible customer service. I'm going back to Bijan and Manresa bread. Very beautiful and clean place. If you are in the mood for a nice big lemon bar or a hefty slice of apple strudel, you should come here. They've been open for about three months and I was told the owner will be having demonstrations of how to decorate cakes? They serve a variety of pastries including macaroons. Disappointed with the Bavarian Burnt Almond cake, would not recommend. The $8 cake was wrapped in green paper so I couldn't see what the cake actually looked like / made of. The answer: a few layers of thin cake, creme, and a modest amount of not-so-toasted almonds? Overall, what this cake lacks in flavor, it makes up in the large volume of creme because that's all I tasted. This is honestly one of my favorite spots for coffee and a quick snack. The place is always clean, classy, inviting and the food is ALWAYS top tier. I try a new pastry or cookie every time and I honestly haven't been disappointed once. I usually stop in on my way to work in the morning and the young lady behind the counter is always super nice/helpful and actually really knows her stuff like a true Barista should! Honestly the only thing that tends to ruin the vibe are some of the other customers that come in with some of the most pretentious, entitled and ignorant attitudes I've ever seen. Most wouldn't know an espresso from a latte if their lives depended on it‍. It sucks that the staff has to put up with them but I'm usually impressed with how patient they are. I ordered a guava cake that my 88 year old mother wanted for a birthday party. It was to be picked up the day after Thanksgiving. I ordered it online, and received a confirmation. I went to pick up the cake and the store was closed. My card was charged and I had no cake for the party. I tried calling the store but no one answered and the mailbox was full or not set up. I tried calling Saturday as well, same result. I called today, Nov 28. Spoke with the owner and finally got a refund through PayPal. She stated that the online system is done through door dash, and it was their fault. She also told me that all stores were closed Friday and Saturday. If that's the case, a simple announcement stating that fact on the voicemail is pretty standard for a business, but there was no mention of it when I called. I wanted my card refunded but the owner stated that it is too late for a refund to my card, said that I needed to call a day after in order to refund the card. Well I tried that but the store was closed. I don't know what the quality of their products are, but if you are considering ordering online I suggest you make sure to contact someone to verify that they received your order and will be open when you go to pick it up. Normally go to the Willow Glen location where they sell out quickly, Ordered 3 scones, a raspberry bar, a chocolate croissant, and an almond croissant. The brunette staff member was putting in a tiny box. I asked her for a larger box because I didn't want anything crushed. She promptly said are you ordering anything else.... She continued to place item in. She squeezed the top and bottom box to place the sticker. When opened later of course part of scone was broken off, raspberry bar was smooshed, and the majority of almonds were now in the box rather than on the pastry. What poor service!
