Other than my blueberry pancakes were burnt the food was okay. Got busy right after we arrived on Saturday at 11:30am. Would not recommend the juice drinks. The pineapple one was not good. The burrito was average size and was good. Typical indoor interior. read more

Went there for lunch orders the chicken. It was okay flavor wasn't anything special. Heading The Onion rings with it.Nice thing about this was they gave me a bunch of onion rings.Usually when ordering onion rings , I get about five or six. This food was okay , but for what I got felt it was way overpriced. Have had pretty pretty good breakfast there before still overpriced , but almost worth it. read more

One of my preferred Flying Star locations in Albuquerque. They always have friendly staff, a large dining room with lots of tables and power outlets, and consistently delicious food. They have a decent size parking lot and some surrounding street parking, but can get full especially on the weekends. I must stop here for a bowl of pozole! I recommend that you call first bc the other location didn't have it today. The pozole is so flavorful, tender chunks of pork, hominy, onions and tortilla chip strips. I love the lemon wedge - adding lemon juice makes it even better. $15 for a bowl with two small flour tortillas is the perfect amount! Cute restaurant, plenty of parking and an extensive menu! Definitely recommend and will return! read more

Food is decent. Desert is very good. And the service is always fine. But wow are they pricey! If you go for dessert (we are talking a piece of cake and coffee) $16. Also, they haven't seemed over-clean the last few years. Tables are often sticky and the floor consistently looks gross. read more

I was tired of eating at the hotel during my Covid era work visit to Albuquerque. So I ventured out. I am a retro diner fiend and this place caught my eye. Glad it did. Order at the counter, get your number and wait for your plate. The food is upscale diner good. Fresh ingredients, cooked to order. Nice sized helpings. Came out pretty fast! The French dip I had was packed with beef. The au jus was plentiful - I hate little cups. I want it to soak that bread! And their slaw was creamy tart and tasty. But I going back for breakfast. The lunch menu was tasty and the coffee made to order is a bonus. However the breakfast looked to die for! Look, it's not on a top 10 list or a Triple D show. Awful Avocado toast. I had to wait about thirty minutes and the toast was soggy and the egg was hardboiled. I mentioned to the person at the counter that I wanted a to go cup for the tea. I I only ate 1/4 and did not want a refund but wanted to let them know about the eggs etc. she just had a blank stare. Usually I am a big fan of flying star, but this busy left me underwhelmed. The food took about 20 minutes to get to the table after ordering. I had the fish and chips and thought it was just alright. My partner had the rise and shine which fell apart before he was able to take a single bite. It was fairly busy but the waitstaff did a good job keeping tables clean and anticipating needs. Multiple tables weren't cleaned- no one in sight was cleaning the tables so new people will literally sit in a filthy table and move dirty dishes on the edge of the table. We waited 30 minutes to get our food originally. We heard the server with blue hair yelling at the kitchen staff that it's not her fault. Come to find out, the egg on my husband's avocado toast fell off. My husband ordered an iced mocha- tasted like regular coffee. We asked the same server if we can get it redone, 20 minutes passed by no iced mocha was sent to our table. We left with awful service. read more

I would of been a regular customer if I lived in Albuquerque. I love the ambiance of this restaurant and I'm glad me and my coworker found this place during a travel job. Portions of food are very generous. I couldn't deny dessert after my lunch because all the cakes and pastries looked so good. Definitely left a satisfied customer. So sad they're so far away. Flying Star has a nice variety to choose from...including vegan options. And of course there is the fabulous bakery case (I love the Greek yogurt cheesecake and the hubby loves their chocolate chip cookies). This isn't our usual Flying Star location. I thought it was good, but the hubs said he liked the food at the other location better. Some of the prices are a bit high, but how can you place a value on amazing chocolate cake? I say money is no object when it comes to dessert. The atmosphere is casual, hip and chill, all at the same time. You can enjoy a latte and the internet, while ignoring everything around you. You can people watch with a delish batch of spicy buffalo cauliflower. Or you can swoon with your sweetie, indulging in a decadent serving of bread pudding. This place is a winner. read more

This is an iconic cafe and definitely a representative place of the New Mexican cuisine. Nothing like consuming local New Mexican food and coffee served by the friendliest staff you could find around. From traditional New Mexican breakfast items like huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos to seasonal menu items like their sausage cavatappi al forno, you will not be disappointed and you will be surprised by the food this place has to offer. You will enjoy interesting coffee drinks like their mexican latte (my favorite) and their caramel dulce. Interesting tip: they have one of the best bagels you could find in town. I was told that there green chile cheeseburgers are fabulous. So I went over there to try it with my son. It was a little bit on the dry side and overall it was just ok. I have the sweet potato fries and they were good. I can't remember what it was my son had. It was some kind of bread with turkey, swiss cheese, and green chile. I will try to pick up or dine in because delivery (with any service but especially their app) is a crap shoot. I enjoy the food there but they have literally never gotten a delivery right. I always check no utensils. Not a fan of plastic and we are at home & don't need it. Why have an option of "NO utensils" if you IGNORE the choice every single time. Last night it was just me. One dish. I, as always, checked no utensils knowing they would send. They sent 3 sets. The food was packaged sloppily and spilled. Last time I ordered my wife got something she didn't order and I got a half order when I ordered a full order. If you check "Roll" you will not receive it. Maybe text your delivery driver and have them check and correct your order in the store. Seriously. Flying Star. Save yourself money by not sending out plastic table wear etc when the customer does not want it. Save the planet the unnecessary burden. Pay attention. read more

I miss the old days and Flying Star's old days as well. My friend and I ordered separately but had same number. Hers came 15 mins before mine. The tacos were missing avocado, though they were more than willing to get me some slices when I asked. The Caron tortillas were dry and stale. The garnish minimal. Shrimp dry also. We came here this afternoon to meet a friend while we were in town. Looking for a local place to grab a coffee, we decided on flying star. We all ordered coffee (2 mocha lattes and a cappuccino with vanilla syrup) and a variety of sweet treats (salted caramel chocolate blondie, pea an pie and an apple jumble). The service was friendly and convenient. They brought our drinks and food to the table. I really enjoyed my blondie. It was delicious! Honestly, the decision was hard... so many delicious looking things on the menu but finally decided on a salami and provolone sandwich, with green chile bread. Wow! Amazing sandwich, fresh, delicious! While we were enjoying our food, Pratt Morales, the owner and master baker, came out and talked to us for a while. This was a real treat, great positive attitude and love for what he does. He even introduced us to one of his specialties the Turkey shaped bread he makes for Thanksgiving. So popular now he gets hundreds of orders per year. We left with some biscochitos and other cookies to go, and a desire to try more things when we are back in Albuquerque.

This has got to be, one of, if not, the worst places to eat at. First, the environment is stuffed with yuppies, bicyclists, people with scarves, people playing chess, and dogs named jack. Laptops, everywhere. Second, the food is as bad as it gets. Scary bad. The Buddha Bowl was anything but enlightening. It wouldn't even have made it on the Waffle House menu. The veggies were cold, limp and wet. The chicken, ($3.59 extra) was cold and stiff. And the rice seemed like it was chewed around a bit by the the cook, and spat out. Luckily, I wasn't paying because it was obnoxiously over priced for what you got: a TV dinner, at best. Had I been the one bending over and getting porked for this catastrophic joke of a meal, I would have demanded my money back, as well as my dignity. Don't let peer pressure dictate otherwise. I left, feeling raped, making an adamant vow to never return to yuppie WiFi kingdom, ever again. And I never have since. If you are wallet conscious and want good food, do NOT eat at ANY Flying Star. You'll have better luck scooping out muck out of a trashcan or better yet, not eating at all. read more

Interesting atmosphere. I wouldn't call this a coffee shop as it's atmosphere is that of an American diner. The coffee is good, lacks in creaminess in the latte department but all around the flavor is there. The thing that perplexed me though is the fact they make their coffee in glasses, without handles... Why? It just defies logic, there's nothing to hold and it just simply burns your hands. So whilst drinking coffee with my hands on fire, I had a good look around. Their food looks good, high quality (to the eye) and I could see that it gets ordered a lot. This local company offers unheard of benefits for it's employees. The owners are a local couple, and they donate huge sums of money back to our community. The Flying Star strives to protect us and our environment--they even have biodegradable corn cups! I used to live in California, and it is nice to see our local scene giving the eco savvy a run for their money. Oh yeah, the desserts can't be beat, nor the locally roasted coffee. Great coffee and deserts was my starter. Why would anyone in Albuquerque go to Starbucks and get overpriced coffee with this place in town. The only reason you would get your coffee some place else is that you are too lazy to get out of your car. I have now been back several times, the food is as good as the desserts, the staff is very friendly, no one rushes you, seriously, you can stay there all day and they make you feel welcome. read more
