The last time I went to fogo was maybe 15 years ago. Maybe I've grown older, maybe I've grown wiser, perhaps my palate is no longer utter trash. Whatever the reason, my return to the brazilian franchise that I had fond memories of was pure disappointment. The meat people came to our table sparingly, far and few visits in between, with many filler dishes like sausage and chicken. When the meat did make it to our table it was low quality, nothing was tender, most of the cuts were completely rare apart from scorched earth exterior crusts that looked darker than the aftermath of a forest fire. Picanha came to our table once in the 80 - 90 minutes we were there. That's just crazy. My fountain soda was completely flat. The salad bar was extremely lacking and poorly maintained, with basics like chimichurri being 90% empty bowls the entire time I was there. The best part of my meal? The rice and beans that I found in a dingy corner of the restaurant. I'd write more but apparently something I ate there was bad and now I need to go poo. Good bye. Ambience was outdated, everything from the decor to the cutlery to the staff uniforms to the salad bar, so old and drab. I've been to a LOT of Brazilian steak houses, in a lot of different cities. Several have been excellent, most have been really good. Forgo de Chao was far below all of that. We did the Best of Brazil ($39/person), but honestly there didn't seem to be any difference between the Best of Brazil and the normal service. There was no filet mignon, ribs or lamb chops for the Best of Brazil, but I never saw those meat selections anywhere else on the dining floor, so I can't say that we missed anything. To be honest, we didn't see even half of the Best of Brazil menu. There was no lamb picanha, no queso assado (fire grilled cheese), no pork chops, no pork ribs. We barely saw any guachos at all, compared to every other Brazilian steakhouse we have been to. We actually had to ask a Manager to get most of the meats to come around at all. As far as the quality of the meat, most of the cuts were extremely fatty and over cooked. The flank steak was the best of the night, with the top sirloin coming in second. Most of the others were terrible at best. The sides also were uninspiring. The mash potatoes were mushy. The plantano maduro (sorry, the call them carmelized bananas here) were the worst I have ever had. I love some plantano maduro, so this was really disappointing. The fried polenta was pretty tasty as well. The salad bar before the meats was pretty standard fare. Not too many standouts to be honest. Most of the other Brazilian steakhouses have had a better selection to be frank. The service was very hit and miss, with more misses than hits. Our first waitress, Cory, was non-existent. Luckily, a young waiter, Brian, stepped up and saved the night. He was attentive, friendly and super nice. Service improved ten-fold once he took over. As stated before, the guachos were hard to find, and we had to get a Manager involved to get them to come by. The drinks were excellent though, with the bartender being on point from a simple Grey Goose and Tonic, to the the smoked pineapple old fashioned, all of the drinks were spot on!! The desserts were also very good. We had the chocolate molten cake and the crème brûlée, and both were really good. We also ordered a lobster and shrimp appetizer, and although it took almost 30 minutes to get, it was nicely prepared and quite delicious! We spoke to the Manager, McKenna, at the end of the meal and she was super helpful, apologetic for some of the service issues, and along with Brian, another high point of the meal. While this wasn't the best Brazilian steakhouse we have been too, thanks to Brian and McKenna, we will come back and give Fogo de Chao another opportunity. read more

After our first Fogo experience last year, my husband and I were so excited to celebrate our anniversary again at the same place. Not even the hour and a half in traffic could've turned us away, we couldn't wait. You can imagine our disappointment when we arrived and had a completely different experience this time around. There was a deal we asked our waitress about and she said it didn't include premium options, we asked what those were and she wasn't sure, so we just chose not to use the deal and do the regular full churrasco. Despite there being several options stated on the menu, the same 2 items kept coming around (bacon wrapped chicken, & sirloin), over and over. We requested filet mignon and lamb, and waited about 20 minutes for it to finally come out. You get a tiny sliver and then have to wait again. We constantly just kept seeing the same options over and over with nothing else. Our waitress disappeared and we ended up not even seeing her again. After wasting over an hour and a half, we were tired of waiting for anything different to come out and were ready to go. Our card was flipped for a while as we were tired of declining the same options, and then someone finally asked if we wanted anything else or were celebrating anything. We said it was our anniversary (as my husband indicated in the reservation) and she said she'd be right back with a dessert menu to choose something. A second later, someone else came and asked what we were celebrating, my husband said our anniversary, she also said she'd be right back. As soon as she left, the first person came back with a menu and said we could pick anything we wanted - and then the second person came back with a cheesecake that said happy anniversary and then it was just awkward because we felt bad that it was already made despite it not being what we would've chosen since I don't eat cheesecake. I said it's fine and we just wanted the check. We finally got the check and left. It was very disappointing to spend almost $200, waste 2 hours, and all together end up with a combined total of half a steak. The only positive thing I can say is that the cheese alone might be worth $200 because it's always amazing, but it would've been easier to just get that to go and enjoy the evening elsewhere. Sad that our experience was so different this time. Not sure if this is because it's a Monday or not, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere and have a more enjoyable time where we get our money's worth. read more

I visited this restaurant for lunch. Since 10 oz Picanha was large enough for me, I ordered it as a la carte in addition to the salad buffet. Their explanation of the service was helpful when I chose my order. The Picanha was delicious! A person put a green round card on my table, which showed "Picanha". Several servers continuously brought different types of fire-roasted meat to each table, and the person who was with "Picanha" came to serve the meat twice. I was surprised at the volume of the side dishes. The pao de queijo (cheese bread) was fluffy and delicious. In addition, there were mashed potatoes, caramelized bananas, and crispy polenta. All the salad and fruits (orange, papaya, kiwi, pineapple) at the buffet were fresh. The apple and fig salad was delicious. read more

I mean I know this is supposed to be fine dining and it matched up to that, but this place is definitely overhyped. Got the all you can eat dinner for $66.50 and tried all the kinds of meat. It was good and the price was good for the amount of meat I ate and the other offerings like the salad/fruit bar etc. However, I noticed during the last 30 minutes of the meal, the people with the racks of meat stopped visiting our table even though we had our stickers flipped up which was pretty cheap of Fogo. It had been almost two years since the pandemic began, when I last dined at Fogo de Chão. It has since become a much more lively, the Service Staff now all had great attitudes while they were working. Culinarily the Roasts were much tastier and were cooked with the delicious Brazilian Flavors. There was a Bartender pushing around a Cart and Shaking his Bar Mixing Glasses over his Head like a percussionist in a Carnival Marimba Band. The Gauchos were friendly and were extremely attentive, the Roasts were sliced paper thin and were dispensed almost as fast as we were eating them. My two sons at 16 and 18 years of living like Carnivore Predators sure had them busy and probably a little shocked at how much Meat each could Consume. The Brazilian Tapas Bar was the best I've seen on the East Coast at any other Fogo de Chão that I've been to. Desserts were sinfully awesome, nicely varied and beautiful. First, it's good to make a reservation here to avoid a long wait. We waited just about five minutes once we arrived for our appointment. Parking is available-valet or metered street parking. Service was definitely lagging here a bit. It was good until we were seated; everyone was prompt. But it seemed too busy after, that no one came to check on us for a while. We had the top experience along with the wagyu (ribeye). The wagyu was my favorite of all the meats; hot, juicy, and flavorful. I also enjoyed the lamb chop. The chicken I got was a bit too dry in my opinion. And there was a sirloin that came around but the piece I got was too tough. The salad and fruit bar have plenty of choices. Drink menu is plentiful. I went with the super fruit cocktail. Good overall drink but way too much ice. A few sips was all there is of the drink. Go here with an appetite because it didn't take me long to feel full. I've always heard great things about Fogo de Chão, but unfortunately my recent experience was disappointing. Our table of four asked for lamb chops over eight times during the night, and in total, we only received two lamb chops to share among the entire table. It was frustrating to keep asking and barely getting any. On top of that, the quality of the meats we did receive just wasn't what I expected from Fogo -- not as flavorful or tender as usual. When we did check in, the hostess seemed to have lost our reservation. The waiter took 15 minutes for my drink (which was wrong) and another 15 for my girlfriend's. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Our waiter was completely unprofessional and ignored us the entire time. We were never given menus, never received our drink orders, and had to settle for just eating from the salad bar because no one checked on us. Meanwhile, we saw our waiter chatting it up with other tables, giving them full attention while completely forgetting about us. We even had to remind him multiple times about our drinks and menus, and each time he'd say, "Oh yeah, I'll bring it," only to go back to socializing and never follow through. It was beyond frustrating. When the manager finally asked for our feedback, we were honest about the poor service. He offered a so-called "discount," but it barely made a difference the bill was still ridiculously high for nothing but a salad. The lack of professionalism from the staff, especially our waiter, made it clear that this place is not worth the hype or the money. Everything was overwhelmingly delicious. Make sure you show up with an appetite because you are going to eat good. You have to try the churrasco experience. It's an experience for sure. My boyfriend and I was celebrating our two year dating anniversary and we got dessert of our choice, on the house. We ordered the chocolate molten cake (because I'm a chocolate lover, of course). Super moist and rich I ordered an old fashion with my meal and the bartender deserves five stars as well. Nicely priced and served for an adult who appreciates whiskey. There was a server walking around with decanter filled with pineapples. We learn it was Pineapple rum. It was very good. The Fogo Churrasco Experience for children 6 and under is complimentary, 7-12 half price. Gluten free or vegetarian options are available upon request. On Monday we managed to get seated without reservations since this is a very popular restaurant. First time and tried the Brazilian experience. The staff works as a team and Rodrigo was the first to take care of us, followed by Zocer. Luis, the manager, came by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. As a business professor and restraunteer, I was truly impressed by the energy, care and dedication everyone put into creating a fantastic experience. The food was top-notch and white-glove, without the pretentiousness. There were a couple of times where we felt left out on some service things, the overall service was friendly, and the staff was seasoned. Everything seemed clean down to the utensils and also given to the napkins and salad bar. The salad bar items were seasoned just right; garlic fragrance, good acids, good fat, and good dressings. Delicious roasted vegetables; peppers, eggplant and butternut squash. Then I was ready for the steak. Steaks came out fresh and juicy and staff asked how I wanted it cut as well as how well done. All the protein came out perfect temperature, even the pork, done multiple ways. The manager even personally asked me if there was a cut of steak I wanted and it was the filet mignon that I hadn't had come around yet and it sold the deal. Thank you guys! read more

I've tried Brazilian steak house before, and this place is not it. We have a party of 10 people on a Saturday night. Of course the place was busy, but we made our reservation a week in advance. We got placed in the furthest corner of the restaurant. For the first 25 minutes, no one came to serve us anything. We had to ask several times to have the servers come to our table, and when they finally did, they only brought pork. More than half our party did not eat pork and we told them that when we got there as well as when we made the reservation. My husband would ask several times for specific cuts of meat, and they were never brought to him. We sat there for 3 and half hours and left still hungry after paying $70+ per person. In the 3 and half hours we were there, I want to say we were served a total of 20 times and all the same 3 meats, the chicken, the garlic beef, and pork. Extremely disappointed. I would not come back here again unfortunately. Update: it's been 16 days since I emailed the restaurant about the service, and I received no reply. I really do not recommend this place, save your money, it's not worth the expense. read more

I must say I've been to Fogo de Chão multiple times but this was my first time for a dinner party. The host & service was lovely. As usual the parking downtown at night is horrible my suggestion is to valet. The cost was great at only $225 that was the all you can eat & drink (top shelf liquor). The only issue was that they ran out of REMY Martin our drink of choice. But they were still constantly filling our party with all of their delicious selection of meats. The manager was more then gracious to substitute our REMY with every other type of cognac they had in the place. The package we selected came with dessert & unlimited sides as well. I've been wanting to go here for years. Honestly lived up to the hype. Parking is kind of rough but there's a valet in a booth you pay $15 to help with that. He gave my dad a number to text when we were ready. We were early to our reservation but the restaurant accommodated us early anyway. It was a bit difficult to hear at first but the person who took our order was warm and friendly. My father and I took the unlimited meat/salad service and my mother ordered the Chilean sea bass (which came with the salad bar). We started with the salad bar and honestly, wow. A lot of options. Smoked salmon and hummus, potato salad, asparagus, caprese, cheeses, smoked meats, etc. Then when we returned to the table, the meats started coming. So did bread and other sides that were not on the salad bar (mashed potato, friend banana?, polenta). Everything was genuinely really good. The meats were very quality cuts and my dad was perhaps a little too eager to get everything at once. They may have forgotten my mom's sea bass though (she was happy if it came later because she was already filling up on salads ). But not long after we asked about it, I think a manager came back out and apologized for the wait. She was very polite and said it was on the house. The sea bass came and it was great too. I was really impressed with the salad bar fully stocked with pretty much everything you could think of. My server was not the best in regards to serving me once I was seated I was given glass of water. After that the server disappeared never came back to check on me now that's PISS POUR SERVICE. The quality of the steaks were okay I've had better tasting and the chicken was a bit dry. The waffle station was one of my hang spots the waffles were made fresh to order with incredible toppings. Dessert was on the money by the way the mood and tone of the restaurant were such a delight. The decor was very relaxing to look at, it is easy on your body and mind.
