This was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. I went in with lower expectations that it would not be like a traditional steakhouse but for as terrible as the food was the service was even worse. It was obvious there were issues when we walked in at 6:30pm and there was a line to the door to check-in despite the restaurant being completely empty. Each of us in line had a reservation but were made to wait at least 5 minutes to be seated. Our server was attentive at the start but once we made our selections we barely saw him. The market table and cheesy bread were the only items I would call "good". All the meats were tough, overcooked and flavorless and we had to get up multiple times to ask for the meat cutters to come by. The lava cake was worse than the one you can get with a dominos pizza order. My entire family left hungry after we paid $400 for the four of us. The staff were all very kind and many of them (especially the meat cutters) were working really hard and trying their best but it was a terrible and poorly run experience. It was very clearly the result of bad management as there never seemed to be enough staff members and many of them were not trained on what to do. They magically made it work for us which is so above and beyond for a busy Saturday night, but the weather was beautiful so I'm guessing another group was happy to switch. I went out to dinner with 3 other people on Wednesday 1/14. The party I was with all chose the all you can eat option for 73$. I do not eat poultry or red meat so my only option was to order the salmon meal. The salmon came out and it was fine. Nothing to write home about. The middle was colder than it should have been which is my mistake for not calling it out at the restaurant because now I'm dealing with the repercussions. Since Wednesday and it is currently Friday as I write this, I have progressively felt more ill as I have gotten food poisoning from the salmon dish I ordered that night. the service itself at the restaurant was fine. One of the servers cutting meat for guests was probably one of the nicest people ever and continued to be courtesy the entire night. I went here for the first time for my birthday. The experience was lovely. The array of meats and were so good and tender my favorite was the lamb . I tried polenta for the first time and I liked it. I tried a drink similar to a mojito and the drink was extremely refreshing. The service was amazing. They were constantly walking around offering meat as well as VA from the salad bar. My other favorite was the cream cheese Brulé, but I had for dessert even got to blow off the set up was nice. We had individual lights that showed on our table even though they started to dim the lights as it got later in the evening it was very relaxing aesthetic place. We went as a family for Christmas dinner. Having worked Christmas shifts as a server myself, I know how hard it is to be away from family -- but I always believed it was especially important to make guests feel welcomed on a holiday. Unfortunately, the service was shockingly rude. Two different servers rolled their eyes at us for asking simple questions as first-time guests. It felt dismissive and uncomfortable from the start. The food itself was pretty good, but be extremely cautious about sneaky up-charging. My parents are elderly and cannot eat large portions, so both ordered the single cut of meat with the salad bar option. Despite this, my dad was served a massive ribeye instead. I immediately questioned it when it arrived and confirmed with the gentleman carving the steak -- and again with another server passing by -- that both parents had ordered the single cut. No one corrected the mistake. My mom was charged correctly. My dad, however, was charged $180 -- more than three times what he ordered. After significant back-and-forth that completely derailed our Christmas dinner, management offered to charge 50% of the $180 steak -- which was still $20 more than the actual meal he ordered. While a comp would have been appropriate given the error, what made this experience truly unacceptable was the continued rudeness throughout the interaction. Mistakes happen. How they're handled matters -- especially on Christmas. Sadly, this experience left us feeling frustrated rather than celebrated. read more

Ok, I really have a diverse history of fine dining. I'm very accepting of different cultural flavors in cuisine, but I'm floored with my experience here. Upon entering we waited in the lobby for anyone to help us, it took about 15 minutes for someone to greet us. Once seated our waiter was filling in for our waitress. He tried to tell us how the restaurant service worked. He was nothing short of confusing, and walked away. We literally thought we were on a hidden camera show. Fifteen minutes later our waitress arrived from break and was helpful and explained how the restaurant did the ordering and how the food buffet worked. My wife and I are not big eaters (not buffet seekers), so we ordered the single cut lamb $39.00 and I ordered the single cut chicken $39.00. The server brought my wife's lamb and spoke a language neither of us could understand. He got visibly annoyed and slid three "over well done" pieces of lamb onto her plate and walked away. We waited a few minutes and the server for my chicken literally walked by my plate and dropped one tiny piece of meat and kept walking. It was literally smaller than the blades on my fork. First time in Seattle, we have enjoyed Fogo in other cities so we decided to come by. This experience was by far the greatest. Within a few minutes, we were sat, orders in, and waiting to be served. Shortly thereafter, we met an employee named Rigoberto. He went above and beyond. He recognized that we were seated on the edge of the main dining area, and came to make sure that we knew what to do in case the meat wasn't making its way to us quickly enough. He was incredibly personable, polite, and professional. A genuinely decent man, very easy to just sit and engage with. I'm big on trying new places to eat, which means I don't often go to the same place twice as I'm usually in new areas for only a few months at a time, but I will 100% be returning to this Fogo de Chao purely based on the interaction I had with Rigoberto. Inner-city dining can be a stressful environment to manage, but Rigoberto set a high standard. read more

We ordered another round of drinks, again, the wait was beyond forever. Some wanted a third but we couldn't get anyone's attention. - most of the meat options were tough and dried out. We were never offered this but our coworkers next to us were . They passed it down and they were delicious! - since we didn't have a server , we had to flag someone down for a dessert menu. We ordered 3 - tres de leches, cheesecake and ice cream with strawberries. . They said they didn't have strawberries, only purée which was great! Sure! You know came out? A tiny bowl of 2 whole strawberries. at this point, we felt like we're were on candid camera. - at the very very end, it seemed we now had a server. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, just so happened we were wrapping up. We asked for the bill. Turns out she had to recreate the bill bc only 2 things were on it. When it arrived, we saw we paid for a few of our coworkers drinks from the next table. Fine. It was so had to dine here, it wasn't worth the effort to ask for anything more. Unfortunately, my visit to the Downtown Seattle location last Saturday was the worst restaurant experience I have had anywhere in the world. No one explained how the service works. Even though I am familiar with the concept, it should never be assumed that guests--especially first-time customers at a location--already know the process. This is a basic expectation in professional hospitality. I was dining with friends and was the first person at the table to order a traditional caipirinha. Everyone else received their drinks except me. After a long wait, I called the server, who apologized and said the drink was coming. Another 30 minutes passed. When I followed up again, he apologized and brought a drink--but it was the wrong one. Only after I complained did I finally receive the correct drink. The service was disorganized, inattentive, and far below the standard expected at this price point. Given the brand's reputation and my excellent experience at the Bellevue location, this level of service at the Downtown Seattle restaurant was poor and unacceptable. read more

No one was more excited than me to see a Fogo de Chao opening in Seattle, I'm a huge fan and have been in their restaurants across the US, I think the Washington DC was my first. We made reservations and stopped in for Sunday dinner, the food was good, the service was not. Our server was great, she was hustling and making sure we had our orders in and everything we needed. The meat servers were working hard. The bar took almost my whole dinner to bring me a single glass of the correct wine. I should've known better than to order a dessert drink, as it NEVER came, while the rest I of my party enjoyed their desserts. I've come many times because the happy hour is an incredible deal and the food is super good. However, every time I've been in the service has been lacking (at least in the bar section when not seated directly at the bar). It's been a long, long wait each time and it's close to impossible to flag a waiter down. Waitstaff seems plentiful (so not sure why everything takes so long) and I've experienced really kind people and some with a bit of attitude. If you go, do your order all in one go and it expect it to be longer than a typical one hour lunch break. So it's great food, deals, bartenders, varying service from waitstaff but typically a long wait. read more

If there was a negative star rating I would give it. I had reservation for NYE at 8:30pm in the Rooftop Lounge. I received a voicemail at 5pm that night stating service would be closing down at 9pm and the "restaurant flipped for a NYE event". There was no mention that my reservation was cancelled. I immediately called the restaurant and in found out that my reservation was cancelled and got the run around as to why I was being notified three hours beforehand the day of my reservation. (I had even called earlier that week to adjust the number of people in our reservation down and no one mentioned during that call that service would be shutting down early.) There was also no specific call out on the website or OpenTable about a NYE event, so I was confused as to why my reservation was being cancelled at the last minute. I was put on hold to talk to the manager and was hung up on. I called back several times and was repeatedly hung up on. Other times I was told that the manager would call me back, but they never did. Not once did I receive an apology for my reservation being cancelled. The level of customer service was BEYOND POOR. I recognize this wasn't the hostess fault, it was a management issue, though the entire experience was abysmal. There's a certain level of decency, respect and care that all of us can show regardless of fault. Fogo de Chao --at least the Seattle location (restaurant and lounge) is definitely not a place you can expect to receive that. Sadly, based on other reviews it sounds like others had similar experience on NYE. Also, I've heard from friends that in normal circumstances (not NYE) even with a reservation, they've had unbelievable wait times at other locations (Lynnwood). Sad that this is the reputation that Fogo has. Lesson learned: avoid this place at all costs. read more

We had the lamb shank, the beef bone, the lobster & shrimp tacos and fried cheese. Limited beer choices but I made it work. Next we went up to the new rooftop bar, one of the managers (Derek) took us up in the elevator and let us know it was the third day since opening. I had beer but everyone else had mixed drinks and loved them. Derek even sent a complimentary sliced steak that we all shared. I will go back on my next visit to Seattle. read more

It was on a Saturday so it was really busy. Every person on the staff was kind, courteous, and professional. I liked the salad bar. I was not a fan of the meat. Most of the time it was really rare. If I say well done or medium well the meat servers would have to come back. The meat was just too bloody for me. So that kind of ruined it a lil bit. I like the Novilles Brazilian steakhouse better it's in Bellevue too. It's smaller and a reasonable price but the meat was good. I had never been to Fogo de Chao so I wanted the experience. It definitely was not worth $100 in my opinion. I will visit again maybe not that location but next time I'll order a meal. read more

Fogo is a must-visit for meat lovers. As someone who doesn't eat meat regularly, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the meal. I came here on a weekday lunch for their churrasco experience, which includes a continuous table-side service of cuts of grilled meats and a self-service of appetizers/ small bites/ salad bars. I really enjoyed the pork sausage, lamb, and grilled cheese slice. Some of their beef cuts and chicken were a bit too dry and hard to chew. Everything at the self-serve bar tasted fresh and served as a great palate cleanser. This is one of Fogo's newest locations and despite being in downtown Seattle, the restaurant has a very nice ambiance. It is a solid spot for special occasions. Service was good but they forgot my drink order and didn't realize it until the end of the meal. read more

I rarely write reviews, but after three separate visits, I feel obligated to share this experience. My first visit was meant to be a celebration -- my friend's birthday dinner on her actual birthday. Despite having a reservation, Fogo de Chão lost it, were dismissive in person and on the phone, and made no effort to rebook or accommodate our reservation on such an important occasion. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no attempt to make things right. That same evening, I accidentally left my credit card at the restaurant. When I called the next day, they had told me that they found my card. I was explicitly told it would be held safely until I picked it up. A few days later, I returned in person and waited another 30 minutes to retrieve my card. While waiting, I sat down and ordered a single glass of wine. Eventually, I was informed -- casually -- that they had lost my card. No explanation. No sense of urgency. No real apology. I have never felt so disrespected as a guest - yet I STILL paid for my glass of wine using my apple wallet as backup. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. Ironically, I already had a work happy hour reservation booked there the following day. We arrived early at 4:30 PM for a reservation that was properly booked online, only to be told once again that the reservation had been "lost" and that the rooftop was essentially full. The staff showed little interest in helping or problem-solving. A manager eventually said she could "squeeze us in," which was already 35 min later, but after another 15-minute wait with no updates, we chose to leave. The consistent theme across all three visits is clear: a complete lack of care for the guest experience. The staff appeared disengaged, careless, and indifferent, even when serious mistakes were made. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for over 12 years and understands both front- and back-of-house operations, I am genuinely shocked by this level of service. Mistakes happen -- but how they are handled defines an establishment. Unfortunately, Fogo de Chão downtown Seattle showed no accountability, no professionalism, and no desire to retain guests. I really wanted to check out the Seattle location since we went to the candlelight show and were staying the night in Seattle. The staff was very nice, the hostess were pleasant. It's just, we felt very neglected for service. We purchased the full churrasco experience and it took forever for them to even come around with the meats, we never got any of the sides that are supposed to come out, mashed potatoes, plantains, etc... our drinks took forever. I would have ordered more if we would gotten them at a reasonable timeframe. When we sat down no one came over and offered water. I had to ask for it, I had to ask someone to come over and get us drinks. Then the ice tea and wine we ordered took probably 20 min to come. The pork was way over cooked, chicken over cooked. The flank and sirloin however were very good. I saw a lot of staff everywhere but not really attentive. I saw 1 or 2 servers though that were hustling around really fast trying to do a lot I think. I'm just very disappointed in the overall experience and for the price of $76 plus a person I expect better from them.
